How to link Interactive fields in acrobat 9Pro
Hi Im new in this and I would like to now how to link interactive fields in acrobat.
lets say that I have 10 files (File1, File2, File3 etc......) and each file have the same COMBO BOX that display 5 options (option 1. option 2, option 3, option 4 and option 5), all 10 files have the same combo box with the same options, but i want to DELETE option 3 from each file.
So, how can I do it, beacuse right now I have to do it manually each file at the time, and in real I dont have 10 files I have 500.
Please I would appreciate any help.

I am not so sure yet but in the PLD properties window on general tab of SBO 2005A there is field name link to. its description is :
Creates a link between several fields, to determine if the system collectively displays or hides them. If a field is blank or hidden, its linked fields are not printed either.
To create the link, choose the Unique ID of the field to which you want to link the selected field.
If the field Total Liable in the document is set to zero there is no need to print the Tax, Discount, and Total fields. It is possible to link these fields to the field Total Liable by selecting its unique ID in the field Link to, found in each one of their Properties windows. This will then hide the fields when Total Liable is zero.
If a linked field is not yet calculated, the field is ignored.
Another example:
Steps for Version 2005A:
Link every existing field in the Repetitive Area
to itself (thisinlcudes hidden fields as well!)
add the following fields to the Repetitive Area

General Tab
untick visible
Left = 0 / Width = 0 / Top = 0 / Height = 0

How to create interactive PDF in Acrobat Pro 11 from Indesign 6 on a Mac and keep all interactivity?
I've seen much discussion on this topic or issue.
I have a 175 page doucment that needs an active TOC, urls that link, buttons that "go back to TOC" on each page and "to next page - to previous page". You can only see the functions properly in Acrobat Reader.
What's up with that? That doesn't work for my deverse client base.
Is it because this was a file originally created in ID 5? I ask because I have since created a new file, exactly the same way with the same interactive attributes as the file that doesn't work and it works fine.
Is my file too many pages for Acrobat to handle?

Table of Contents entries created in InDesign are automatically converted into links when exported to PDF, provided the hyperlinks option on the PDF export dialog has been checked. They should work fine in any desktop software.
Buttons which link to a fixed page and 'next page/previous page' buttons created in InDesign will use a link method that requires JavaScript - this is fully-supported in the Acrobat Family on desktop platforms, but third-party renderers such as Firefox's internal viewer, and mobile PDF apps, have little or no support for scripting. -
Is there a way to link text fields in an interactive form in ID CS6?
I'm recreating a form where they had several text fields on top of each other. If the form were not interactive, that would be so the user could use it to fill out longer, more detailed responses to the questions.
But since it's supposed to be interactive, I question the need for this, unless I could link them somehow, so that a user's long answer would flow from one field to the next as needed.
Is there a way to do that? Or would it work better to combine the 3 text fields into one big text field?
If the latter, is there a way to change a text field back into a text or picture box? I can't seem to find that option.You cannot link PDF fields to each other.
Make a text field Multiline and Scrollable to allow for extra input (in Acrobat, but not in InDesign, you can also set a limit on the number of characters).
As I said elsewhere, choose Object > Interactive > Convert to Object to change a field to a regular object. -

Editing a PDF form- How to link fields in a text
I am trying to create a basic form for a medical practice which has various sections [e.g "history of presenting illness"] that have several lines of text each. When I try and create the form and write on the previewed highlighted fields, my cursor continuously stays on the line/field until the end and never returns to the next line/field below it. Instead it seems only to decrease the size of the font. How do I link the fields in a section of text?
You create a multiline field and then let it wrap. Your approach is wrong. If you insist on having separate entry lines, basically having a separate field for each line, then you might be able to do it with JavaScript. However separate fields for each line is not very consistent such a form.
Be careful about how you submit such a form with patient data. I assume you are just planning on saving it to a file and not submitting. The submission to an e-mail is not secure and thus not appropriate for such data. Also, you really only need to save the data for most uses other than viewing, and so saving as the data as FDF or XML (if Designer is used) is probably more appropriate to the application. -

Easiest way to do it is the following:
- Open the PDF file in Acrobat.
- Go to Tools - Forms - More Form Options - Export Data.
- Save the form data as an XML file somewhere on your system.
- Open XML the file in a plain-text editor (I recommend Notepad++).
- Let's say you want to replace all the years in the dates from "2013" to "2014". Do a global Search&Replace of "2013-" to "2014-" (I added the dash just to make sure that only date fields are edited).
- Save the XML file (maybe under a new name).
- Go back to the PDF file, and now go to Tools - Forms - More Form Options - Import Data.
- Select the edited XML file and import it.
- Done! -
How can I add javascript text fields to Acrobat pages from Applescript please?
I have a real need to add text fields to Acrobat document pages from Applescript. I can't access the Headers and Footers from Applescript in Acrobat XI. I can set watermarks using the following script, but cannot for the life of me work out how to add text fields. Any advice please?

Unfortunately I don't have the API. My Adobe Reader installation updating to version XI failed, and subsequent attempts to fall back on the X version are blocked by the partial install of XI. Damn Adobe stuff.
Could someone please post the relevant part of the API to give me some pointers, please.

Changes in the table fields do not delete the data. I bet someone just used the Database Utility incorrectly and instead of doing the table adjustment with saving the data delete it (there is literally a radio-button for it). Just don't let people do this in Production and you'll be OK.
Also between DEV and PRD you should have another test run in the QA system. If it didn't work well in both DEV and QA I wouldn't ever put this changes in Production, to be honest. -
How does one strip out all Live Cycle data from a PDF and rebuild the form fields in Acrobat?
Someone in a different department built a bunch of forms in Live Cycle. We now need to make minor edits to these forms but we all have Macs and can't use Live Cycle. Currently our only option to change a date and a name on each form is to buy a new Windows workstation, buy a copy of Live Cycle and train someone for it.
I understand the Live Cycle technology and Acrobat technology for forms are somehow different but there must be a way to just strip out all the Live Cycle form programming so that I just have the bare PDF with the text and layout. Then make the text edits and rebuild the form fields in Acrobat.It depends on your PDF. Is the PDF a static XFA or a dynamic XFA?
You can check to see if the PDF is static/dynamic by clicking File=>Save As, and it should say static or dynamic PDF as file type.
iText will work with Static XFA forms created in LiveCycle. Dynamic XFA forms are not supported.
You can also submit XML data to a server side script and parse the XML data using C# system.xml.xmlreader.

How do I create continuous dynamic fields in Acrobat Pro?
Hello everyone,
I've created a legal PDF file and I need to add some dynamic fields inside.
I know how to make the fields but I would like to make it so that if there are more than one on the same line, that they will affect each other's length in case the user inputs long / short data.
For example:
If I have 2 fields:
NAME SURNAME
How do I make it that after the user inputs their NAME the SURNAME field will start a bit after the NAME field and there will be no big gap between them.

Just you want to use the functionaly Import and Export , that why you required two Fields Exit in transitation MIGO.
I suggest MIGO is huge transitation which conver some table like MSEG and BSEG which affect the performance of the program. Better you go with one field Exit . Although there are many Some are attach Below.

Problem with Buttons/Form Fields in Acrobat PDF when created in InDesign CS4
So I have been working for quite some time on an interactive form for an internal client at my job. It has two major components, one is the side bar navigation, which I created using buttons in InDesign which link to bookmarks in the document. The second aspect is that I also created "check boxes" accoring to this video: http://www.adobe.com/designcenter/cs4/articles/lrvid4434_ds.html
I have two major issues:
1. Whenever I try to convert my boxes to form fields in Acrobat it will not recognize them unless I save out 4 pages at a time (rather than the whole document).
2. I then have to combine the document and get multiple sets of bookmarks, and some bookamrks are corrupted (not working properly). Even when I try to convert the whole document some of the buttons are corrupted.
UGH tired of this project, I am really bastardizing the whole thing to get it done, but want to figure out the problem as this is an ongoing document that we will be using over and over again in future years.
I am attaching the pdf file--this is a pieced together one (saved out 4 pages at a time) (which I did do some fixes to to get buttons to go to proper locations) and the original indesign file (partial file due to size).
PLEASE OH PLEASE HELP ME!Acrobat's Form Wizard is good but not perfect when creating form data from a PDF. I have never encountered Acrobat not able to finish the process of creating all form fields, but have encountered very slugish performance afterwards when there was a lot of forms, buttons, and other elements within the pages. And I would say, from your attached PDF, it is pretty heavy with content. I am going to suggest an idea, but I have not tested this to see if it would work.
In InDesign, create a layer for your navigation tabs, and a layer for your text with the check boxes. Create two PDFs from ID, one PDF with just your-nav tabs, the second with just your text with check boxes. In Acrobat, perform the Form Wizard on the second PDF and see if this will finish, the idea here is to reduce the cllutter for the Form Wizard to finish. If it does, you can merge the first PDF as a layer with the second to have a completed document. Again, I have not tested this theory.
