How to make alv grid cell as image cell
Dear All,
I want to create one alv report in abap. Acutually i need a output in report like machine number , machine name, model,
finally i want to display the images in the last colum( cell ) corresponding to the machines for each row. Machine no,name,model ..etc.. i fetched from the custom table. I maintaned the machines images in se78. Can any one help for this requirment..

in my opinion you will not be able to do that in a ALV grid
the only way to do it is to build a HTML content and to display it into HTML viewer
then the images should be loaded as mime objects (SMW0) and not as text elements (SE78)

How to make a grid cell uneditable without messing up tabbing
I'm using an AdvancedDataGrid in ActionScript 3/Flex 4. The grid has 5 columns: Caller Intent, Labels, Strategy, Confirmation Mode, and Confirmation Promptlet. All columns are editable except for Labels. However, if you change the Confirmation Mode value to NEVER, the next column Confirmation Promptlet becomes uneditable and is set with the value 'n/a' (this is the desired functionality).
Unfortunately, the image is not very clear at all. I changes the Confirmation Mode value to NEVER in the second row. This is what happens when I start tabbing out of the Confirmation Mode cell:
1st Tab: Confirmation Promptlet populated with 'n/a'. I don't see anything in focus.
2nd Tab: The 5th tab from the left in the view stack (dark grey) is in focus.
3rd Tab: I don't see anything in focus.
4th Tab: The button with the green '+' (top left) is in focus. 5th Tab: The grid itself is in focus.
6th Tab: Finally I get to the Caller Intent cell of the next row (when this image was captured)
I tried setting tabEnabled="false" and tabFocusEnabled="false" for the button. I set only tabFocusEnabled="false" for the AdvancedDataGrid. But then the Tab focus starts moving to the components in the upper right panel and lower right panel.
I need to accomplish 2 things:
1. Have tabbing be contained in the grid, in the upper right panel, and in the lower right panel. Meaning tabbing should not cross from one area to another.
2. Have an uneditable field not mess up the normal tabbing behaviour.

I'm trying to force the columnIndex and rowIndex values of my grid's editedItemPosition object with no success .
Here is my code:

In this scenario, the values should be 0 for columnIndex and 3 for rowIndex. However, as I stepped over the two assignment statements, I do see the address of the editedItemPosition object being changed.
What am I missing here?

How to display tooltip in ALV GRID CELL?
Hello,
I'm trying to display dynamic tootips for data in ALV GRID Cells.
My ALV Gid Cells content does not display Icon or symbol or Exception but pure data (In my case dates).
Is there a way to do display a toolip that will change dynamicaly according to a rule.
I took a look at the BCALV_DEMO_TOOLTIP program
but it does not answer my expectation since it display
toltip for Icon or symbol or Exception.
Can someone help on this case.

The internal output table column must be a valid symbol character.
The caller must consider the printability of symbols.
Symbols can usually be printed, but may not always be output correctly, depending on the printer configuration.

Button in alv grid cell using REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY
Hi all,
I want to make the contents of 2 columns of my alv grid as push button with values as text on it. I am not using classes or methods but alv grid fm. On clicking the button one dialog box has to pop up which gives edit option for the values in that coloumn, my question is how to introduce button in alv grid cell? if i can use t_fieldcatalog-icon, then please give me the complete steps for that.

Buttons in ALV Grid cell need focus to be clicked :-(
Hi,
I have an ALV Grid with single cells displayed as buttons (dependend on the data in the corresponding row). Unfortunatelly the button-cells need focus to be clicked. So you need two clicks: one to get the focus to the desired cell and one to really click the button.
Any ideas how to make this work with one single click ? (Setting a hotspot does not work, cause hotspots have the same problem.)

Multiple Lines in a Single ALV Grid Cell
Is there any way to Display Multiple Lines in a Single ALV Grid Cell.
This can be accomplished by Sorting the First 3 fields and Make it Looks like below displayed format.
But My problem is while downloading also it should be Displayed in the same format.
All inputs are highly appreciated.there was a post similar to this some days back... search it..
any ways...
what u can do is...
arrange ur final internal table so that it will look like same line...
like...lets say ur internal table is :
A1 B1 C1 D1 123
A1 B1 C2 D2 123
A1 B2 C1 D1 123
A1 B2 C2 D2 123
and u can rearrange ur table to be like
A1 B1 C1 D1 123
C2 D2 123
A1 B2 C1 D1 123
C2 D2 123
what i mean to say is dont pass the fields if they are same in the previous line... try it out..
and then pass it two ur ALV.
it will look like they are in one line

How to append ALV grid output to LIST output
Hi,
I am working with Basis AUDIT MANUAL report for which i have to integrate around 50 standard transactions (SM37,SM35...etc) output and make it into one single report.
On execution of my report i have to get all the 50 transaction outputs sequentially.
Some standard transactions have ALV list display output and some have GRID display.I can able to append only list outputs by submit program and exporting list to memory.
Please suggest me how to get Alv grid output in midst of list output.

ThanksBy default ALV Grid merges fields with same values vertically.
Isn't that only when the column is part of the sort key? You also have to consider the user changing the sort sequence, which can make the text jumbled up. In one of my reports I have made the cell a hotspot and displayed the text in a popup. Of course you cannot print it.

How to make ALV output Colorless at all....
I have Sum field which after all the rows it iwll do sum and it is showing in ALV .it is showing in Yellow color. Client dont want that.
Currently I am using ALV_LIST_DISPLAY Fm to see this report output via Mss.
So the client want a plane paper color which 2 things are strukcing me up.
1) How to make Sum row(Final Sum up row) as colorless
2) How to make header as colorless.(Header column like emp no , emp name ,e.t.c)

I don't think decolor header is possible., but u can show totals color less by calculating manually.,
as., in field catalog donot use do_sum = 'X'. so it will not calculate totals and yellow color will not appear., now u calculate total and append at last row.,
ex: loop at itab into wa.
wa_alv-f1 = wa-f1.
wa_alv-f2 = wa-f2.
temp_total = temp_total + wa-f2.
append wa_alv to itab_alv.
endloop.
wa_alv-f1 = 'Total'.
wa_alv-f2 = temp_total.
append wa_alv to itab_alv.
now itab_alv contains all records along with total..

How to make OO ALV Grid cell is required on data_changed?
Hi all,
I want to make grid cell is required on data_change method. I have two fields dependent each other, so i insert a value on a field, the other field should be obligatory.
I have tried to solve this with "add_protocol_entry" method. But i don't want to display message log. The second field should be drawn with red border.
My sample code is below:

I have an idea, how about that you add one more field in your table structure for obtain information about color about each cell. such as "color TYPE lvc_t_scol " and then in your lvc_s_layo, you should fill CTAB_FNAME = 'COLOR'.
Insert this code into your program. (it's a template)
READ TABLE itab WITH KEY <k1> = ..... ASSIGNING <fs>.
APPEND INITIAL LINE TO <fs>-COLOR ASSIGNING <fs_l>.

I have created an object V_MAPBOX using reference to class CL_GUI_DIALOGBOX_CONTAINER.

Then created an object V_MAPALV with reference to class CL_GUI_ALV_GRID exporting V_MAPBOX.
Finally I am calling the method SET_TABLE_FOR_FIRST_DISPLAY of CL_GUI_ALV_GRID to display the screen on my custom container of screen 1000.

The screen is getting displayed as expected. But I require to make this ALV screen to be resizable while it is displayed.
Have tried calling CALL METHOD v_mapbox->resize, before calling the V_MAPALV methods but it does not work.

SAP docking container: Displays as docked, resizable sub-window with the option of displaying it as a modeless dialog box. Class: CL_GUI_DOCKING_CONTAINER
SAP splitter container: Displays and groups several controls in one area - that is, splits the area into cells Class: CL_GUI_SPLITTER_CONTAINER
SAP easy splitter container: Displays controls in two cells, which the user can resize using a split bar. Class: CL_GUI_EASY_SPLITTER_CONTAINER.
In the control, you can adjust the column width by dragging, or use the 'Optimum width' function to adjust the column width to the data currently displayed. You can also change the column sequence by selecting a column and dragging it to a new position.
