Does somone know how the code to set an iview in a page visibe/invisible.
(like you can do it manually)
I do not want to remove the iview and then add the iview again,

Thanks for your answer, but I already found this on SDN.
But I think it does not fit my needs. (hiding or unhiding it is not depending on roles or language or any other parameter)
This is the scenario I want to do.
I have made webdynpro banner with a message.
At certain moments in time this banner should appear iin the portal.
Because the team that decides if the banner should be visible or not, has no portal knowledge. So I want it to make easy for them
I want to program another webdynpro, where they can decide to show the banner or not. (and tthey can also give the banner text in).
So I just want to know how to hide programmatorically an iview in page.

Loop in smartform - how to make values valid in all pages

Hi All.
I have a smartforms with several pages (9). I must print these 9 pages once for each line in the internal table ITAB. When I put a loop in the first page, the data under that loop is printed correctly, but every text node outside the loop always prints the last line of ITAB.
Do any of you know how to make the data in the loop valid throughout the other pages?

I got it. The main window must be the first one in the first page. The loop must be inside the main window, and bellow the loop there must be a page-break command.

How to make contents of DIV on page I'm leaving fade out?

I am trying to figure out how to make the contents of a DIV on the page I'm clicking away from fade out. I know how to make the next page load with a fade in. So I'm half way there (I guess). Wix has a lot of designs that use this effect. Here's a link to an example:

How to add Portal iViews with Web Page Composer

Hi,
We are working with Web Page Composer in EP7.0 SP13.
We are creating web pages and we would need to add Portal iViews into. When we try to add an iView, we cannot select it from Web Content Browser to drop into the web page container.
How can we add iViews into our web pages?

How to make form a single long page; remove page breaks?

Hi. I am pretty new to liveCycle but really like it so far! I think these forums are great too. I did a few forums searches and couldn't find a specific answer to this question, so I began this discussion. Please forgive my ignorance if this is has been discussed before!
I am trying to make a form that isn't intended to be printed. I would like to make it a single long page instead of having page breaks in it. I have experimented with custom page sizes and way able to make the pages longer, but there is a limit to how long liveCycle allows me to make the pages... like 27" or something. I'd like to have no page breaks at all.
I am not very familliar with XML, but do have some HTML experience, so I could copy/paste some code to the XML sheet if need be-- provided I was told where to put it.
I attached a bit of the form I would like to turn into a single page to this discussion.
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated! Thank you very much!

In teh hierarchy view - click on the Master Page/ Page1. Now on the object palette on the Master Page Tab you can choose a Paper Type. If you scroll to the bottom of the list you can choose a Custom size. The width and height dimensions are now available to you. The UI in designer limits you to 59 in. If you need more than that there is a way to get bigger but you have to do it in the native XML format. Let me know if you need more than that. Here is a modified sample.

How to make "Mail Contents os this page" in safari 7?

Hi everybody,
I need for my daily work to make once or twice a day an upload of an mailing PNG picture. Bevor the upgrade to Maverick Safari 7 I used the safari version 5.1.10 which works great to make "Mail contents of this page" (File Menu > Mail Contents of this file). Now in the Safari 7 version this option is not anymore available and it is change to SHARE "Email this page". This is not the some and it does not match the legal proposing.
I appreciate as answer for a good solution or which steps shoud I do to get this option again.

Thanks a lot for your help and sorry for the inconvenience. I follow your instruction but it is still not working.
I tried to use now another Mac which I have here, with Mac system 10.6.8, where I use the safari version 5.1.10 (6534.59.10) and it works perfect.
Here are the screenShots:

Using that older Mac we have the perfect result, where you see the legal text + images, which i sent to me in bcc.
The result from my Mac with Maverick and after following the instruction:
You see the full legal text but no the image!
Maybe this is just a minor bug in Safari, to exploring yet and to improve. For the meantime I have to use the older Mac only for this part of the job. Not A PERFECT DAY (lou reed, RIP) but not the end of the world!

Urgent: how to make an iView show as the initial page

A user in my team has only one role.
Under this role, there is a folder.
In the folder , there are some iViews.
We want one iView to show up as the initial page immediately after
the user logs into EP.
We have tried to set "entry point", sort priority but the user still has to click
the folder before the iView showing up.
Is there anyway to avoid the click? (claim: the folder must be there and
cannot be removed in order to achieve this).

Make the Entry point of the Role as NO. Make the Folder as an Entry Point (select the Folder under the Role - click properties button - then set Entry Point=Yes there). This way the Folder will be shown as the top level tab. Then put your desired iView at the first position under the folder. So you are done. Also you can set the property Sort Priority=1 or something small for the Folder. So that that folder and in turn the iView will always be the first page for your portal.

for a couple of days I have been on Google looking for a solution, but I can't find any
I have a macbook ( Mavericks) and iWork / PAGES to make bussinesscards, invitations, flyers ....
From the online printershop Flyer.be I received a PDF- layout with the exact messures on how my documents must be.
I know that from Pages I can tranfer my new made documents to PDF (as the printershop requiers) that's no problem
BUT
how do I import their PDF-layout into PAGES?
can this be done in Automator, if yes, How?
can I convert their PDF to a Template for PAGES?
if I don't use their PDF- layout but simply use the original Templates that are in PAGES (for example: envelop), the messures are never the same as those required by the printershop, how can I solve this?
Dus: I need to find out how to use their messures and be able to work in iWork.
Hope it's clearly explaned - as my native language is Dutch
Anyone ? any idee?

That is not a template for a Business Card. It looks like the template for a Compliments Slip 210 x 100mm.
Also you do not use the Ruler to position things accurately, you use:
Format > Arrange > Size/Position
It looks like the Printer wants each item to be its own document, with Page setup to final size.
There will be a problem however with the page bleed (the image that goes off the edge of the paper) because Pages does not have this.
Swift Publisher does.
PDF files are usually not editable, but Adobe Illustrator will open them and edit them and has all the tools you need to format the Stationery.
Sketch can also open and edit pdfs now and is IMHO absolutely brilliant as well as beautiful to look at.

3 column page - how to make each full height of page, with variable content in each?

Hi everyone. . . I'm a relatively unsophisticated page designer, and I appreciate if you excuse my lack of experience. I'm putting together a page for a business. The page has three columns, one of which would be considered to be the main body of the page. . . the one with all the important content. The column on the left is for a navbar and some affiliate badges, and the column on the right will be for an image that describes for the viewer which page they're on.
The question I have is how to, when the content of the center column is very long, make the left and right column divtags extend all the way to the footer, with their borders and background colors, to make a clean page. When the content of the center column is short, like a paragraph or two, the left divtag will have a minimum height due to the presence of the badges, but the right divtag is quite short.

Nevermind the visual appearance of the page. . . the spry widget is all over the place, but that's just because I uploaded a few files onto the server. On my pc it's all copacetic and not an issue. The code source is up there, so is the stylesheet.
I'm hoping I can just add a few attributes to the columns so that they automatically reach down to the bottom extents of the page. Thanks for any advice you can throw my way.

My menu-bar works just fine. Hovering the links I get the text to take display the desired color. Now I want the menu-item of the selected page to show a third color.
With live-code enabled in Dreamweaver CS6, I can see the following code being generated by the Dynamic menu:

In order to see if the class is "working" I tried some other attributes, that DO work!

I have found a solution myself for 2 of the 3 questions i had:
I have deleted/changed this div: #nav_1371057 li li
And created a few new ones:
#nav_1371057 li li a, #nav_1371057 li li a:visited (To control the link en visited link colors in the sub-menu other than the root-menu)
#nav_1371057 li li a:hover (to control the hover in the sub-menu other than the root-menu if nessesary)
#nav_1371057 li li.selected a (to control the selected link and let the link change color or bolder like in my case)
Here are the CSS styles I used:

I want to make controls or objects static which are on jsp page.
i.e. when my window is maximized then every thing is perfect but when i restore my window all the controls on the jsp page gets destorted.....
I want to make look that jsp page same in both the positions of window.
1) When window is maximized.
2) When window is minimized.
The controls should not get destorted.

This has nothing to do with JSP. It's all about HTML and CSS. You can use CSS to specify fixed sizes/locations for things, or you can use HTML tables to control layouts.

How to make guides on a master page more effective

I have a grid of guides on a master page. They are visible in my working pages, but they don't have that "magnetic" quality that I expect - things don't snap to them. I have layers in the master page and layers in my working pages. Can someone help me sort out what I need to do to make the guides more effective? CS4 on a Mac.

Also, 1 pixel isn't much, maybe you're not seeing the snap. Try 5 pixels

I normally say that 98% of questions asked here have been asked (and answered) before, but I think this is a new one...
What needs to open in a new tab/window? The target APEX page? It would be interesting to hear the reasoning behind this.
If this is referring to each page view, as Matt points out there are a number of technical reasons in both browsers and APEX that would make this difficult to achieve. However these are dwarfed by usability and accessibility concerns. Using such a UI model would drive most users insane in short order. More seriously it would confuse infrequent users and users with learning disabilities, and present significant orientation and navigation problems for visually impaired users and people using assistive navigation technologies.
