How to make Components Dragable

How to make Components dragable and moveable?
Is it posible?
Thanks.

There's no way currently to do that in Catalyst. Drag and drop functionality would have to be added over in Flash Builder after you export your project in FC.
but you can of course "simulate" the D&D with a clever "On click, Play action sequence" interaction.
Here some information on drag and drop in Flash Builder if you want to see how drag and drop is coded:
http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flex/quickstart/adding_drag_and_drop/
To simply drag objects around, you can use DragManager.doDrag():
http://livedocs.adobe.com/flex/3/langref/mx/managers/DragManager.html# doDrag()
Also, there's an interesting tutorial written by Krystal Higgins, showing how she simulated a drag and drop in Catalyst, which you might find useful:
Simulated Drag and Drop in Flash Catalyst.
Hope this helps,
Chris

  • How to make components' size constant?

I have a newbie question for you. How to make the size of components (button, combobox, etc...) constant? I mean they keep the same size as the users change window's size.
    Thanks.
    Sraiper

You need to use a layout manager that respects the minimum and maximum size of the components and set the minimum and maximum sizes to be the size that you want the component to be. FlowLayout respects minimum and maximum, and so does BoxLayout. BorderLayout and GridLayout don't respect the min or max sizes. You can usually get what you want with a combination of layout managers. If you gave me a better idea of how you want to layout your components, and what you want the resizing behavior to be, then I could give you some more specific recommendations about the layouts you should use.
    Try making some ascii drawings.
    Example:
small size window              large size window
        |                       |  |                                      |
        | []check     o radio   |  |  []check                             |
        | []check     o radio   |  |  []check                   o radio   |
        |             o radio   |  |                                      |
        |  ___________________  |  |                            o radio   |
        | |_____textfield_____| |  |                                      |

                                   |______________________________________|Make sure you put
    before and

  • How to make components appear and disappear dynamically.

So I admit I am from the HTML world and have been able to
dynamically control divs to make them visible and invisible, as
needed. How do you do that in Flex/Flash?
I have tried the "visible" attribute, but the component takes
up the same space when invisible leaving a big hole in the page --
very surprising. I have changed the height and width to zero (which
works) but have not been able to restore the size (since I want it
to be width=100% and it is expecting a number, not percentage.
So how do you implement hidden divs in Flex.
    Thanks.
    Mike

In Flex, there is a separation between "is this component
visible" vs. "does this component take screen space." Similar to
the difference in CSS between "mydiv.style.visibility = 'hidden'"
    and "mydiv.style.display = 'none'".
    In Flex:
    // make it invisible
    mything.visible = false;
// make it not take up space onscreen
    mything.includeInLayout = false;

  • Hi puce ,how to make an editor having swing components

hi puce please tell me how to make an editor having drag and drop facility and when after dragging and dropping components on a page save the page. The page saved should be stored in xml format and i want this application to be stand alone .. please help... ihave seen ur customizerbarsample.java ..It helped but not fully ....how after resizing and move i can get current coordinates

    Hi,
Sir , what i would like to know is like in
    Customizerbarsample.java you have taken
JLabelCustomizer and u drag and drop the label
similarly i would like to drag n drop other
components aswell and i would like to know what their
dimensions are like the x . y coordinates both
relative and absolute . also if after resizing i
would like to know absolute height and width ... how
should i go about it ... An example code would be a
great help.... Sorry, I currently don't have the time to provide you such an example. But where exactly do you have problems? I expect you're using the example from:
    http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=737908
    as a base.
That example shows that you can just create any TableModel you need and then create any Customizer you need from that in the consumeSelection-method.
How to get the information of the customizers (x, y,...) I just explained in the last response. Where do you have problems there?
    i have read that if u need X, y
coordinates along with height and width i need to
    register propertychangelistener along with
CustomizerListener...but how do u register both
these listeners and where.. E.g. at the place where you create the customizers:
    myCustomizer.addPropertyChangeListener(...);
myCustomizer.addCustomizerListener(...);But what do you want to do with that? Maybe there's a better solution...
    like u instantiated
JLabelCustomizer i tried to do the same with
JButtonCustomizer but there was an error saying
JbuttonCustomizer is abstract it cannot be
instantiated..... please helpYeah, I just had a look at JButtonCustomizer and it seems as it isn't ready to use yet (probably I added some abstract methods to a base class and then just declared it abstract to be able to compile it ;) ). You can still add buttons using JCustomizer - you just won't have the in-place editing feature. Or you might want to create your own customizer derived from AbstractTextCustomizer (check the JLabelCustomizer if you need an example).

    HI all,
I am creating generic datasource using Tcode SBIW. I entered MM-IO as application component name, If i am trying to save, it is giving error 'There is no application Component MM-IO'.
Could you pleae any one tell me how to make availability of application compents in R/3.
    Thanks,
    Ravi Basavaiah.

    Hi Ravi,
Check using transaction RSA6, if there is an node MM-IO in the path SAP - R/3 --> MM
If not, u can create one using the  "Create Icon" or using menu path "Hierarchy --> Create node"

  • I need help understanding how the Apple components integrate to create a system across all my devices?

I need help understanding how the Apple components connect to create a whole system across all my devices?
Is there a resource that describes current system and associated functionality?
    For example:
    Buy A, B, C to achieve "X"
    You will need:
an internet provider which supports <specs>
    add D to achieve "Y"
    You will need:
an internet provider which supports <specs>
    add "E" to achieve "Z"
    You will need:
an internet provider which supports <specs>
For example, I am looking at the Gen 6 Airport extreme.  For intended performance do I need broadband? if so what are the specs, or will basic internet service suffice?  Do I need the internet provider's modem or does the Airport extreme replace that?  And then I think, if I am doing this, I should also look at Apple TV....What do I need and Why?  Then I look at the New Desk top coming out in the fall, and I think well, if I wait and get this, what does this component do for the system, and what becomes redundant? What does this awesome desktop do for my ability to sit and use a new macbook air when I travel  or sit on the couch in my PJs?
If there was a place that plainly stated "if you buy the new dektop you can configure a system including only these components and achieve <this result> and by adding <additional components> you will achieve this result.
I have been to the genius store a few times, but I come out of there more confused unless I have SPECIFIC questions or already know what to buy.
A "System Configuration App" would be a really great sales tool--Just saying.

I have no idea what "fully optimized" means.
No Apple device will let you watch broadcast TV. The Apple TV is a good option for watching streaming TV from iTunes, NetFlix and Hulu. If you want to watch from other sources, you may need to look at other devices.
Any Mac computer or iPad will allow you to surf the web.
    What business software?
Time Capsule is a good option for back ups.
    Update what across all devices?
For accessing documents from all devices, a service like Dropbox is your best bet.
I have no idea what "step as far away from an internet provider as possible" means. If you want Internet access, you need an Internet provider.
Lighting fast speed for what? Processor? The specs are listed for all devices in the Online Store. Internet? We're back to the service provider.
Technology changes. The only way to keep pace with it beyond a couple of years is to buy new stuff.
The bottom line is you need to look at the specs for devices availble and at your budget and decide what best meets your needs. If you are unable to do that on your own, there are lot of technology consultants out there who will, for a fee, look at your exact situation, make recommendations and even handle the purchase and set up. Perhaps that would be the best route for you.
    Best of luck.

  • How to make saved IR available for all users

    Hi,
I've created IR and saved it to several tabs based on search conditions.
But they're only visible for developers.
How to make these tabs available for all end-users ?
Does version 4.0 support this option ?
    Thank you!

    Hi
At present this feature is not included, although I believe it may be in 4.0. Many people have provided workarounds for this. None of which I have tried. I cannot find the original thread but here is a solution from a chap called Ruud
    >
One way to share your saved reports with others is to 'Publish' your report settings to a few intermediate tables in your application and have other users 'Import' your settings from there. The reason for using intermediate tables is so that not all your saved reports need to be 'visible' to other users (only those that you've chosen to publish).
Basically you have available the following views and package calls that any APEX user can access:-
    - flows_030100.apex_application_pages (all application pages)
    - flows_030100.apex_application_page_ir_rpt (all saved reports - inclusing defaults and all user saved reports)
    - flows_030100.apex_application_page_ir_cond (the associated conditions/filters for above saved reports)
    - wwv_flow_api.create_worksheet_rpt (package procedure that creates a new saved report)
    - wwv_flow_api.create_worksheet_condition (package procedure that creates a condition/filter for above saved report)
The way I've done it is that I've created 2 tables in my application schema that are straightforward clones of the 2 above views.
    CREATE TABLE user_report_settings AS SELECT * FROM flows_030100.apex_application_page_ir_rpt;
    CREATE TABLE user_report_conditions AS SELECT * FROM flows_030100.apex_application_page_ir_cond;
( NB. I deleted any contents that may have come across to make sure we start with a clean slate. )
These two tables will act as my 'repository'.
To simplify matters I've also created 2 views that look at the same APEX views.
CREATE OR REPLACE VIEW v_report_settings AS
    SELECT r.*
    p.page_name
    FROM flows_030100.apex_application_page_ir_rpt r,
    flows_030100.apex_application_pages p
    WHERE UPPER ( r.application_name ) = <Your App Name>
    AND r.application_user 'APXWS_DEFAULT'
    AND r.session_id IS NULL
    AND p.application_id = r.application_id
    AND p.page_id = r.page_id;
CREATE OR REPLACE VIEW v_report_conditions AS
    SELECT r.*
    p.page_name
    FROM flows_030100.apex_application_page_ir_cond r,
    flows_030100.apex_application_pages p
    WHERE UPPER ( r.application_name ) = <Your App Name>
    AND r.application_user 'APXWS_DEFAULT'
    AND p.application_id = r.application_id
    AND p.page_id = r.page_id;
    I then built 2 screens:-
    1) Publish Report Settings
    This shows 2 report regions:-
    - Region 1 - Shows a list of all your saved reports from V_REPORT_SETTINGS (filtered to only show yours)
    SELECT apex_item.checkbox ( 1, report_id ) " ",
    page_name,
    report_name
    FROM v_report_settings
    WHERE application_user = :APP_USER
    AND ( page_id = :P27_REPORT OR :P27_REPORT = 0 )
    ORDER BY page_name,
    report_name
Each row has a checkbox to select the required settings to publish.
The region has a button called PUBLISH (with associated process) that when pressed will copy the settings from
    V_REPORT_SETTINGS (and V_REPORT_CONDITIONS) into USER_REPORT_SETTINGS (and USER_REPORT_CONDITIONS).
    - Region 2 - Shows a list of already published reports in table USER_REPORT_SETTINGS (again filtered for your user)
    SELECT apex_item.checkbox ( 10, s.report_id ) " ",
    m.label,
    s.report_name
    FROM user_report_settings s,
    menu m
    WHERE m.page_no = s.page_id
    AND s.application_user = :APP_USER
    AND ( s.page_id = :P27_REPORT OR :P27_REPORT = 0 )
    ORDER BY m.label,
    s.report_name
Each row has a checkbox to select a setting that you would like to delete from the repository.
The region has a button called DELETE (with associated process) that when pressed will remove the selected
    rows from USER_REPORT_SETTINGS (and USER_REPORT_CONDITIONS).
NB: P27_REPORT is a "Select List With Submit" to filter the required report page first.
Table MENU is my application menu table where I store my menu/pages info.
    2) Import Report Settings
This again shows 2 report regions:-
    - Region 1 - Shows a list of all published reports in table USER_REPORT_SETTINGS (filtered to show only other users saved reports)
    SELECT apex_item.checkbox ( 1, s.report_id ) " ",
    m.label,
    s.report_name,
    s.application_user
    FROM user_report_settings s,
    menu m
    WHERE m.page_no = s.page_id
    AND s.application_user :APP_USER
    AND ( s.page_id = :P28_REPORT OR :P28_REPORT = 0 )
    ORDER BY m.label,
    s.report_name,
    s.application_user
Each row has a checkbox to select the setting(s) that you would like to import from the repository.
The region has one button called IMPORT that when pressed will import the selected settings.
It does this by using the 2 above mentioned package procedure to create a new saved report for you
with the information form the repository. Be careful to match the right column with the right procedure
parameter and to 'reverse' any DECODEs that the view has.
    - Region 2 - Shows a list of all your saved reports from V_REPORT_SETTINGS (filtered to only show yours)
    SELECT page_name,
    report_name
    FROM v_report_settings
    WHERE application_user = :APP_USER
    AND ( page_id = :P28_REPORT OR :P28_REPORT = 0 )
    ORDER BY page_name,
    report_name
This is only needed to give you some feedback as to whether the import succeeded.
    A few proviso's:-
    a) I'm sure there's a better way to do all this but this works for me :-)
    b) This does not work for Computations! I have not found an API call to create computations.
They will simply not come across into the repository.
    c) If you import the same settings twice I've made it so that the name is suffixed with (2), (3) etc.
I did not find a way to update existing report settings. You can only create new ones.
    d) Make sure you refer to your saved reports by name, not ID, when matching APEX stored reports and the
reports in your repository as the ID numbers may change if you re-import an application or if you
    auto-generate your screens/reports (as I do).
    Ruud
    >
To me this is a bit too much of a hack and I personally wouldn't implement it - it's just an example to show it can be done.
Also if you look here in the help in APEX Home > Adding Application Components > Creating Reports > Editing Interactive Reports
...and go to the last paragraph, you can embed predicates in the URL.
    Cheers

  • JavaFX 2.0 : How to make a stage fit into browser view area?

Invoking a JavaFX 2.0 applet from browser results in white spaces on the right and bottom area of the browser. This happens when the JavaFX stage resolutions is lesser than that of browsing desktop resolution. In a client/server model, usually server components doesn't know about the client resolutions. So how to make a stage fit into browser view area?
Also I think, setting the primary stage to full screen mode is not what I want to achieve, as this mode overlays the browser window.

Try typing 100% into the width and height fields. Alternatively, you could use Javascript (no connection to Java in spite of the name) to create an event to resize the applet to the window's size.

    hi,
u can create the Pr with or without material code/master record.
if the item which u r using is one time item, better to create PR without material code with account assignment (ex: cost centre, asset code, order...).
selecting document types is Yours company decision

  • How to make treetable transparent

    hi,
Does anyone have idea how to make the treetable transparent so that the background image can be shown?
Pls provide sample code if possible, thanks!

I don't know if I can come up with some code example
for you since I don't know what treetable your are
using... but... Transparency is always going to relate
to the whether your components are opaque or not.
Opaque = Not Transparent, so setting opaque = false
will hopefully make your table transparent. You may
need to do this on your CellRenderer's as well.
    Hope this helps,

    hi,
i am using JTreeTable provided fron Sun swing connection article,by Scott Violet and Kathy Walrath.
The situation i am facng now is jtree able to be transparent, but jtable still using it default background.
Below are excerpt from sample, setOpaque(false) to jtable seem doesn't take effect.

    * An editor that can be used to edit the tree column. This extends
    * DefaultCellEditor and uses a JTextField (actually, TreeTableTextField)
    * to perform the actual editing.
    * <p>To support editing of the tree column we can not make the tree
    * editable. The reason this doesn't work is that you can not use
    * the same component for editing and renderering. The table may have
    * the need to paint cells, while a cell is being edited. If the same
    * component were used for the rendering and editing the component would
    * be moved around, and the contents would change. When editing, this
    * is undesirable, the contents of the text field must stay the same,
    * including the caret blinking, and selections persisting. For this
    * reason the editing is done via a TableCellEditor.
    * <p>Another interesting thing to be aware of is how tree positions
    * its render and editor. The render/editor is responsible for drawing the
    * icon indicating the type of node (leaf, branch...). The tree is
    * responsible for drawing any other indicators, perhaps an additional
    * +/- sign, or lines connecting the various nodes. So, the renderer
    * is positioned based on depth. On the other hand, table always makes
    * its editor fill the contents of the cell. To get the allusion
    * that the table cell editor is part of the tree, we don't want the
    * table cell editor to fill the cell bounds. We want it to be placed
    * in the same manner as tree places it editor, and have table message
    * the tree to paint any decorations the tree wants. Then, we would
    * only have to worry about the editing part. The approach taken
    * here is to determine where tree would place the editor, and to override
    * the <code>reshape</code> method in the JTextField component to
    * nudge the textfield to the location tree would place it. Since
    * JTreeTable will paint the tree behind the editor everything should
    * just work. So, that is what we are doing here. Determining of
    * the icon position will only work if the TreeCellRenderer is
    * an instance of DefaultTreeCellRenderer. If you need custom
    * TreeCellRenderers, that don't descend from DefaultTreeCellRenderer,
    * and you want to support editing in JTreeTable, you will have
    * to do something similiar.

    No, indeed !
But I forgot to specify that this file is placed in my jar that is included is my war.
So, I'd like to make reference to this file, and not to put it somewhere in my AS.
    Thanks for your reply...

  • How to make screen resolution independent in BDC

How to make screen resolution independent in BDC

    hi
    good
You need to use the CTU_PARAM structure alon with the call transaction statment.
    **Sturcture of CTU_PARAM
    **DISMODE : Display mode (like the MODE addition 'A' , 'E', 'N')
**UPDMODE: Update mode (like the UPDATE addition 'S', 'A')
**DEFSIZE : Use default window size (Here we are handling those transaction by giving default window size)
**RACOMMIT: Do not end transaction at COMMIT WORK
**NOBINPT : No batch input mode (that is, SY-BINPT = SPACE)
**NOBIEND : No batch input mode after the end of BDC data.
*The components DEFSIZE , RACOMMIT, NOBINPT, and NOBIEND always take the following values:
    'X' Yes
DATA : L_OPTION TYPE CTU_PARAMS, "Parameter string for runtime of CALL TRANSACTION
    L_SUBRC TYPE SYSUBRC.
    L_OPTION-DEFSIZE = 'X'.
    L_OPTION-DISMODE = P_MODE.
    L_OPTION-UPDMODE = 'S'.
CALL TRANSACTION 'FK01' "FK01-Vendor master creation
    USING IT_BDCDATA
    MESSAGES INTO IT_MESSTAB
    OPTIONS FROM L_OPTION.

  • How to put components in a row?

    Hi!
I am totally new to Java ME and I have just built my first "Hello world" application. Now I would like to make a form which consits of two TextFields. I have no idea how to make them appear in a row, that is if TextField text1 is the first textfield, then i want TextField text2 to appear under text1. In Java SE, you have JPanels to put components after each other, but what to do i Java ME?
EDIT: I solved it with I Form.
    Question: Why can´t I use a TextField in Display.getDisplay(this).setCurrent(TextField_object)?

Check the layout directives described in the Item documentation for some more fun with layouts :-)
