How to make film interactive?

I know this question probably doesn't relate to FCP but I am hoping that someone here has the know how to help me.
The "problem": I've recently filmed a bunch of lectures and subsequently edited each lecture in final cut pro, so far so good. The lecturer now wants me to incorporate the powerpoint slides into the film as "pictures within the picture" – i.e instead of cutting between the lecture and the slides both the lecture and the slides should be visible. Again, so far so good, I would just have to edit and match the slides to the lecture footage in a seperate timeline and then incorporate the two in one picture.
However, the lecturer wants this to be a little more fancy and is proposing that the film be interactive so that when the viewer clicks the powerpoint screen this goes from being small to fullscreen, and vice versa. I'm assuming this kind of effect is not available in FCP but needs to be done in after effects or flash?
It would be great to get a few pointers (what program and effect to use etc) from someone who has done something like this. I should stress that I have no experience with any software relating to video or picture editing outside of FCP.

I have to agree with David - I've done interactive elements for presentations before and this is complicated. It's well beyond the capacity of just editing.
If you go Flash - I would actually source out the interactive portion to someone who works in Flash. They'll know the fastest and most effective ways to do this.
Also - I would explain to your client, that this route changes how his/her content will be delivered. This will now require the end viewer to watch this as a flash file and not as a QT. It's not a huge deal, but these things should be discussed.
Lastly, you might want to check out Keynote. I have used it for simple presentations and it's pretty awesome. And it can export QT's with interactive functionality and hyperlinks. It might not offer exactly what the client needs, but might be worth looking into. Maybe you can figure out another way to approach your needs.

hi, I have add to template in WAD map web item, but I dont know how to make maps interactive (filtering, drilldown in maps). I found some documentation which says:

Can someone suggest how to make an interactive poster?

Hello everyone,
Could someone suggest how to make interactive images using photoshop. A professor of mine created a poster that had interactive graphics that made movements when rolled over as well as graphics. If someone could suggest a tutorial it would be appreciated. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks!

Images are not interactive on their own. There has to be more then an image file created with Photoshop. I'm sure the poster image you referring to was being displayed on some electronic device of some kind which was use by some image display application like a browser, that there was some programming involved for example interactive dynamic html, mouse overs , on click perhaps some javascript or even flash. And of course an input device like a mouse for a user to use. More then Photoshop is involved.

I have a modulepool program. Now I want to make it interactive. Means If I click one field it will open new table or any particular transaction. So how can I do this? Plz suggest. Its urgent.

Handle USER COMMAND/OK CODE.

How to make player interact with game world objects?

I am trying to make a side scrolling rpg game similar to South Park Stick of Truth. Right now I have the player done and i sketched the outline of the room i wanted in order to test the the collision detector. So right now there are only 4 classes. The main class that adds the walls, player and does something with the constants class.The walls class that doesn't really do anything. The player class that moves with keyboard input, test for collisions with the walls and initiates the walking animation. There is also a constants class that i don't really know how it works but based on tutorials I have seen they want me to use it. I want to add different things in the room that when the player gets close enough to, it allows the person playing to press a button and it will interact with it. It could be for making a small animation, having the player do some different dialog or have a closer look at the object. I can't find any tutorial on how to do that. All the actionscript 3 tutorials are for really simple shooter and platform games that don't interact with the game world at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You could make all of your "interactable" objects implement an interface. Say for example your Interface defines showButton() and hideButton() functions. Then, when you detect a collision on any of these objects, you call showButton(). The button can be set up to dispatch an event that your Main Class is listening for. For example, this might be a custom MoreInfoEvent that has its own "infoItem" property in addition to the other properties Event has.
The code might look like this:

Then the MainClass would do something like this:

How to make an interactive report, non-interactive

Hi,
I have an interactive report. I have disabled every interactive control from the report by setting "include search bar" to NO and also at column level i didnt allow to sort or group or any other thing. Only problem is that when i click the column heading, i see a text box poping up and asks to enter some value so that it could filter the report and if i provide any value and pres enter, it returns message "ERR-1777: Page 1 provided no page to branch to. Please report this error to your application administrator."
How can i disable this text box from appearing and making report fully non interactive. I don't want to rebuild the page as not interactive report and want to disable this popup from my current interactive report.

Hi Salman,
You can "disable" the column links by hiding them.
The simplest method would be to change the column heading to something like:
</div>>div<EnameThe link is created on a DIV tag that contains no text. The above will close this DIV and open a new one for the heading. As there's no text in the first DIV, the user can't see it nor click on it.

How to make a interactive colouring page in Edge Animate?

Hi!
For a University project, I have the task of creating a kids' colouring book. It'll contain some other pages than just colouring, but my lecturer suggested Edge Animate to me. It's for an iPad e-book so it can't contain any flash as flash doesn't work on mobile devices.

You are basically just changing the background color of each shape...
Remember the shapes that you color are limited to the shapes you can create in Edge.....
Although basically there are only circles and rectangles you can see that I was able to manipulate shapes to make a star.

Interesting. He really only has 3 layers of PNG files. When you move the hover position of the mouse, he offsets the foreground layer the most, the middle the second most and the furthest back the least. So it just seems like you need a little code that finds the center of the browser and then adjust the position of the layers based on how far your mouse is from center (positive or negative).
I'm sure somebody good with js could write the code faster than it would take to build the graphic.

I am using SFP to create Interactive forms. In Form properties -> Defaults, I have set "Interactive Form" and "Dynamic Form" in Preview box... Data is read from XML and in the preview tab of SFP, form works just fine.
In the function module call, I have set Fillable = 'X' and also Dynamic = 'X' for docparams.
When I run the program and create the form, drop down list is not displayed properly.. when I had not set dynamic = 'X', I could not see any value at all in the drop-down field.. after setting dynamic = 'X', I just see one (first) value populated in the drop-down field, but the field does not show any drop-down to choose other values from..
am i missing any setting or doing anything wrong?

Open the library CTRL L and look for folder call
"PageElements"
You will find there movie clips call page1 page2 page3 page4
etc...
Every page is a movie clips so whatever you import from PS
will
need to be converted to movie clip. Name it page"number"
according
to your order and do not forget to give it LINKAGE name.
To linkage clip you need to right click it while in library,
go to
LINKAGE than check the box EXPORT FOR ACTION SCRIPT and type
the
page name same as the library name (example) "page88"
Now, on timeline you have layer call ACTIONS and on 5th frame
of that
layer is the place where you add pages using action script
once all
the library stuff is in order. You will find there :

addPage("page2");
addPage("page3");
addPage("page4");
addPage("page5");
Just add as much as you need.... Pretty much it
