How to modify Sine Pattern or Wave VI so that an offset can be applied to it.

Hello,
Is it possible to modify a the Sine pattern.vi or sine wave.VI so that a voltage offset can be applied to them?
If not, any ideas on how to build a VI that outputs an array with a sinusoidal pattern which can then be written to a channel?
Suggestions for other options are definitely welcome.

That is simple enough.
Just think of it from a mathmatical point of view. If you have:
y = sin(x)
and you want to 'offset' the y-value, then you just:
y = sin(x) + 'offset'
I added a constant of 5, but you can change that to a numeric control if you want

Here's how top get a slideshow that will let the viewer manually control the forward and backward movement of the slides with the forward and back buttons on the DVD remote.
1 - put the images you want to use in an iPhoto album.
2 - launch iDVD, select a theme and add a slideshow using the "+" button at the bottom:
3 - click on the Media button at the lower right hand corner of the window and then click on the Photos button.
4 - locate the iPhoto album containing your photos and drag it into the left hand pane:
5 - select Side Duration to Manual.
In order to get the maximum manual control of the slides you cannot have add any music to the slideshow. If you do add music the slideshow will continue you advance unless you pause the slideshow and/or use the advance/back buttons and then pause.
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image and launch DVD Player and play it. If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding was good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality. Always use top quality media: Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.

What interface would expose such information? ITextRange? ITextRangeProvider?
When using a screen reader, I noticed when using WordPad if I up or down arrow to a line of text that contains "The search engine
www.bing.com" I will hear "The search engine link
www.bing.com." Notice the word "link" was added.
I would like to implement the same behavior in my custom RichText editor when navigating up and down by line.
When I right arrow through the text in WordPad, the screen reader does NOT speak "link" when the caret reaches the first "w" in "www.bing.com".
I would like to implement the speaking of "link" when the caret reaches the first character in the URL.

Yes, but external disks will always be slower than internal drives.
Look into file synchronization software. As long as folder structure is identical inside the two master folders, and drive letters the same, you can keep the two machines fully synchronized very easily, going both ways. The one I use cost about $50 or so.
Use a large capacity 2,5" portable (goes in your pocket) for transport. You need the entire master folder there, but once set up only new or modified files are copied.
The Lightroom catalog can be synchronized with the rest, so that you are working with the same catalog on both machines. This overwrites the catalog with a new copy every time, so a regular backup schedule in addition is a must. OTOH you will have three copies of every file, one always off-site. That's sound backup practice.
Tip: exclude the Lr Previews folder from the synchronization. They are written to disk in such a way that they take an insanely long time to copy. New previews will be built on the receiving machine.

How to save print setup for pdf file so that every user can open and print w/o manually performing?

Can is there a way to configure the print settings (i.e. paper size, orientation, etc.) and save this setting as part of the pdf file? I would like the users of pdf files to be able to open the file and simply print, without having to manually configure the print settings.

Not sure if this will help. I got this information from the built-in help under Acrobat 9.

Lists PDF settings, print dialog presets, and reading options for the document.In the PDF settings for Acrobat, you can set a base Uniform Resource Locator (URL) for web links in the document. Specifying a base URL makes it easy for you to manage web links to other websites. If the URL to the other site changes, you can simply edit the base URL and not have to edit each individual web link that refers to that site. The base URL is not used if a link contains a complete URL address.
You can also associate a catalog index file (PDX) with the PDF. When the PDF is searched with the Search PDF window, all of the PDFs that are indexed by the specified PDX file are also searched.
You can include prepress information, such as trapping, for the document. You can define print presets for a document, which prepopulate the Print dialog box with document-specific values. You can also set reading options that determine how the PDF is read by a screen reader or other assistive device.
Create print presets
A PDF can contain a set of print presets, a group of document-specific values that is used to set basic print options. By creating a print preset for a document, you can avoid manually setting certain options in the Print dialog box each time you print the document. It’s best to define print settings for a PDF at the time that you create it, but print presets provide a means to add basic print settings to a PDF at any time.
Choose File > Properties, and click the Advanced tab.
In the Print Dialog Presets section, set options and click OK.
The next time you open the Print dialog box, the values will be set to the print preset values. These settings are also used when you print individual documents in a PDF Portfolio.
Note: To retain a print preset for a PDF, you must save the PDF after creating the print preset.

Paper Source By Page Size

Print Page Range
Prepopulates the Pages box in the Print Range section of the Print dialog box with the page ranges you enter here. This setting is useful in a workflow where documents include both instruction pages and legal pages. For example, if pages 1–2 represent instructions for filling out a form, and pages 3–5 represent the form, you can set up your print job to print multiple copies of only the form.
Number Of Copies
Prepopulates the Copies box in the Print dialog box. Choose a number from 2 to 5, or choose Default to use the application default, which is one copy. This limitation prevents multiple unwanted copies from being printed.

How do I save a stack of adjustment layers that I want to then apply instantly to another image ?

Can anyone help with the following Photoshop question please ?
I've been working on a 16bit image in PS CC on my Mac that has a stack of approximately 15 Adjustment Layers (AL's) which has taken a fair amount of work to put together and then saved as an unflattened PSD. The AL's consist of Curves, Selective Colour, Hue & Sat, Vibrance, Col Bal and Photo Filters with a variety of Masks. All AL's have been renamed with their own unique names.
My question is:
How do I save this stack of 15 AL's, as I want apply them to other similar images that where shot during a motor drive burst either side of the image mentioned above ?
I know I can achieve exactly what I want by dragging all 15 AL's from the original image on to newly opened individual images.
Although this method works absolutely perfectly and is instant I want to be able to somehow apply these AL's in an instantaneous automated way to enable me to deal with the large numbers of images that I want to apply this to.
It appears to be the case that it isn't possible to simply select the complete stack of AL's from the original image, copy them and then paste them into a new image ! If this was possible I would simply create a simple action to deal with it.
I know already that I can create an action to deal with this now, however that entails laboriously retracing what I did to the original image by saving presets to the many AL's, then reloading them, putting them in the correct order and finally renaming all of the AL's but as you'll appreciate it's a fairly long drawn out process which would take forever.
I also need a method which has instant built in flexibility for when I tweak some of the AL's settings. At this point I wouldn't want to then have to go through the whole process of re-writing an involved action.
I hope the above makes some sense to you all and that you can understand what I want to do.
I've briefly looked over the Adobe forum where many people have been trying to find unsuccessfully the answer to this question for many years. If anyone has some sort of workaround for this I would very much appreciate hearing from you.

How do a print a PDF of a brochure that the printer can use to print from?

I have a brochure that is in color .... I want to print it in brochure format as a high quality pdf and then send it to the printer ... he will then use it to print the brochure.
How do I do it?

From the File menu, choose Export. Choose PDF and the type of PDF you desire to create on that dialog box.
PDFX-1a and PDFX-4 are safe bets for your job. If your job has elements that bleed off the page, make sure you look at the section for printers marks, and that crop marks is set, along with any other options your printer specifies (like page info, color bars, etc).

where do i start! ugh please i hope someone can help me ... so i never had the icloud on and i dont know why it was turned off but it was and i went to import all my pictures on my computer and in the middle of importing a message popped up and said there was a software update for my iphone. so i clicked on continue for the update and then all of a sudden my phone shut down and on the screen the "itunes" icon came up and it says connect to itunes. sooo i connect my phone in the computer and nothing happens! so then a box shows up and says to restore my phone so i hit that thinking maybe my pictures will come back up and nothing!! can someone please help me?? im desperate bc i had like 4000 pics on that phone all from when my daughter was born until now i lost everything

You should be importing all pics taken with the iphone to your computer regularly as you would with any digital camera, particularly before any update.
If you have failed to do this, then they are likely gone.
You can try restoring from backup.

How do I rid the error on my iPad that pop up "can't download done retry"?

i have an iPad 2 32gb. 24gb available 27gb capacity. Version 8.0.2 (12A405). iOS 8.0.2
there os a pop up that keep popping up continually when I using the iPad. Online or off. It started after the iOS 8 download of the new free book in iBooks. I done everything I can imagine. I finally restore it restoring from iCloud important backup. . Everthing erase even my bookmarks. Problem still exist.

Whow what a shame, I thought this iPad was going to be terrific. Guess I'll get out my trusty Cannon from now on, lots less hassle.

How to make a custom Linux image public, so that 3rd parties can use it to launch VMs?

Is there a way to make one of my own custom Linux image public, so that 3rd party individuals can get it and use it to launch VMs? e.g. similar to AWS's Community AMIs?
I currently has a custom Linux image, and when I tried to launch a VM, I can find it in "MY IMAGES" under the Gallery. What should I do so that the 3rd party individuals can see and use this image to create VMs.

I just posted similar question. With VM Depot, we still need to download image from VM Depot to our storage(which is time consuming) and then register the image with Azure. Then we can start to launch VM with the custom image.
Imagine we have multiple customers, each need to download custom image to their storage in order to launch VM, it could be both time and bandwidth consuming.
Wonder if you can do it as AWS community AIM way, we post the image there and customer can directly create instance from there without downloading the image to individual storage.

Sine pattern and sine wave VI

i would like to give input arguments to Sine pattern VI and Sine wave VI. Input argument amplitude i would like to give in mm and frequency i would like to give in HZ and periods and i also want to give time as an input. Is it possible? and how? please tell me.

The amplitude input is without units. For example, if you specify 3, then the sine wave values will be from -3 to 3. If you want mm, there must be some kind of conversion. When you say mm, how does this relate to the sine wave? Are you generating a sine wave voltage signal that drives a motor or other actuator that moves a device by a number of mm? Of so what is the relationship between voltage and the mm displacement generated by your actuator?
Sine Pattern has an input for number of cycles instead of frequency. So you need to figure out how many samples you want in your waveform and how many cycles this should represent. All this depends on the update rate you use for outputing your waveform to the actuator.
For example, if you want to update your
output at 1 kHz, choose to have a 100 sample waveform, and want a 20 Hz sine wave -> 100 samples will represent 0.1 seconds of data (at 1 kHz). So 0.1 seconds of a 20 Hz sine signal will include 2 cycles, so you should specify 2 cycles and 100 sample on the Sine Pattern VI inputs.
The Sine Wave VI frequency input is a bit more complicated as it is a normalized frequency input. Basically, figure out how many cycles you want. Then divide the # of cycles by the number of samples in the waveform you are generating and that is the normalized frequency you should specify. In our previous example, take 2 (# of cycles) and divide by 100 (samples in the waveform we generate). This gives you a normalized frequency of 0.02. This is the input for f (normalized frequency) on Sine Wave VI.

T7900 and a Modified SINE Wave Inverter

Just a quick question...
All I will be powering is the sub - Not the sat's !
Can I use the Inspire T7900's on a Modified SINE Wave Inverter ?
Would a 50W (450W Peak) Inverter be enough ?
I would be led to believe that I can, but I would like to make sure first.

Well what i'm "trying" to do is see about putting my T7900 sub into my car, for abit of bass...
I would buy a sub for the car, but it's pointless because I wouldn't use it that often, only when i'm doing long distances which isn't very often.
If the sub works off the Modified SINE Wave inverter, then all I have to research is how to connect the headunit to the sub itself !

If I understand your question correctly, it sounds like you would like to output one period of a sine wave or square wave and then just 0V DC. To do this you can use the niFgen_Basic_Arb_Sequence_Example. You will want your first sequence to be a sine (or square) wave and then the second sequence to be DC with an amplitude of 0V. You could replace the while loop in that example with a sequence structure with a wait in the structure to last just a bit longer than your sine wave. This will ensure that your sequence doesn't repeat.

How do I vary the voltage of a DC power source in a sine pattern around a certain voltage?

Hello all! I'm using a GW Instek PST-3202 DC power supply to apply a voltage to a cartridge heater to heat an aluminum block. I want to apply a sine wave that varies the voltage by +0.05 V to -0.05 V centered around 15 V (from 14.95 V to 15.05 V). I can manually set the voltage of my power supply to 15 V using the analog controls on the power supply itself, but as soon as I turn on my VI it resets to 0 V, which I don't want. Also, it says there is a read timeout, and I'm not sure why. I'm very new to LabVIEW so this may be a very easy fix, but any input would be greatly appreciated! My VI is attached, as well as the VI I am using to monitor the temperature, just for completion.

I've followed all of the advice ITT, but I'm still getting a timeout error on VISA Read. I added a wait between the write and read functions, as a tutorial told me I should, but I'm still having a problem. Also, I feel like the sine pattern function isn't creating a continuous sine pattern, but that may be because the VISA Read is timing out still. My VI is attached. I know I need to take a free tutorial, but I haven't had the time yet.
