How to override styles of existing Skin(Cobalt Graphical) using MX Component?

Hello ,
We are using Flash Builder 4.7 with ASP.Net 4.0 in our application. The generated SWF is getting integrated in web page.
I need to override few styles of existing skin (Cobalt Graphical - using MX Components). Can someone guide where and how to customize the existing skin classes ?

Is there a way to expose properties or styles from a skin part to the host component?

For example, I have this skin that contains a border around an image. I would like to be able to let the user set the cornerRadius.
Skin:

I would like to see that style show up in code complete in a UIComponent that uses this skin,

However the style “cornerRadius” throws an error at compile time.

The only way I've found to pass properties or styles to a skin is through CSS or extending the host component and adding the styles or properties onto it. However this seems like a hack. Shouldn't the skin expose it's configuration to the host component? I think that is what Flex themes are doing.

How to include style SWF in windows native executable using ADT command

'adt -package -target native MyApp.exe MyApp.air' successfully creates a Windows executable.
Need to include a style sheet in the MyApp.exe. Its in the style sub-directory.
When I use 'adt -package -target native MyApp.exe MyApp.air style\blue.swf' get the error:
Signing options required to package from descriptor and fileset.
What is the syntax to include style\blue.swf in the MyApp.exe? Thanks in advance.

Well whenever I publish AIR apps from Flash CS5 Pro if I have the filename property set to "myApp" for example in the dialog box . . . then the program gets published and when you install it "myApp" appears in the Program List as well as optionally in the Desktop Shortcut. I am running on a Windows Machine. I am not sure if this same behavior mirrors itself on Mac or Linux although AIR is designed to be coded once and deployed anywhere. If you have found the filename property in brackets that you mention in Flash Builder are you certain that it is not appearing in your Program List? Perhaps it will appear simply as a shortcut without being in a Folder if you do not specify a path for the shortcut to go to?

I have an object for CL_GUI_ALV_TREE and I have added nodes to the tree and has set color for the nodes using 'STYLE' parameter. Now if I have to add the style info to the style(color) then how do I do it using the object I have?

Yes Eshwar, its similar to what you have written but my problem was that the style has already been assigned in the code and now I want to assign the style info(tooltip text) to the style(colour). I have an object of class cl_gui_alv_tree as of now and I am not able to find out as to how do I proceed to assign style information

You could do something similar to setting the inlineStyle attribute of the UI content whose background color you want to change.

ComboBox inheriting button skin - how to override

Using Flex Builder 3.
I have set up a Button style in the stylesheet so all buttons pick up the up, over, and down skins.
The problem is no matter what I do I cannot get the ComboBox to not use the skins defined for Button.
Is there a way of overriding the skins to not use a skin. I've set up a specific style for the ComboBox, but it still picks up the button skins. I've tried both using ComboBox for the style descriptor and set a specific style name like myComboBox and set the style on the combo box in the mxml.
What is strange is that from the documentation it doesn't look like ComboBox inherits any styles from Button. So this makes no sense.
Any ideas?

How to apply CSS to Existing Site

Help! I am a Macromedia Dreamweaver user. I manage a few simple sites on a volunteer basis. I was recently forced by a new computer purchase to upgrade to CS4 for Vista compatibility.
I have never used Style Sheets. I've spent several hours this afternoon combing the web for instructions and found that most of the information assumes way more knowledge than I have, and the more basic articles seem to provide nice overviews of what CSS is and why one might want to use it, or possibly how to build a new site using CSS, but they have not answered my "how to" questions about my existing sites.
My two most pressing unanswered question are these:
1) I seem to have successfully created a new CSS rule by selecting a section of text in the document, setting the Property Inspector to CSS and then naming the rule and choosing a font style and size (although the new rule dialog box never appeared - I did it all in the Property Inspector). Do I have to go through the whole site and apply this rule individually to each section of body text? The existing document has all the text set by its specific features (e.g. Arial Bold 10), not using "heading 1" "heading 2" etc.
2) I do not use Dreamweaver to upload my finished documents. I use a site-managemet ftp page on my host server. Once I've created these CSS style rules, is there anyting that I need to upload besides my edited pages?

If you are using the same font family, font size, colour, etc... you can use a separate style sheet and just use
body {font-size:14px; font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif}
this will make all your site the same body style.

It's a really good beginner's book to CSS. And really easy to read! Was a huge help to me in my beginnings of CSS.

Gordon, it looks like its been a while since you made this post. Not sure how valid it is now...   I am particularly interested in the LigatureLevel.NONE value. It seems that it is no longer supported.
How do I turn of ligatures in the font rendering?
My flex project involves trying to match the font rendering of Apache's Batik rendering of SVG and ligatures have been turned off in that codebase. Is there any way (even roundabout) to turn ligatures off in flash?

You want to apply any style to a paragraph, you can use grep function:

app.changeGrepPreferences.appliedParagraphStyle = "bullet list";

You want to add bullet list in your existing style "FEBL1", try the below code:
