How to pass LOV Where clause params from Page CO

Dear Members,
I have an OAF Page for which I defined a CO.
I also have an LOV for which I have two parameters in where clause.
Now my requirement is to pass the two values to the where clause parameters of LOV from the CO of the respective page.
Can any one please guide me in achieving this requirement.
Best Regards,
Arun Reddy

Hi Arun
as gyan, suggested try attching a new controller to lov , or extend its existing controller.
In the page CO
store the parameter that needs to be passed to lov in pageContext.putSessionValue(paramName,paramValue)
In the CO of Lov page , in processrequest
retrive the stored values using pageContext.getSessionValue(paramName)

  • How to pass a where-clause to a procedure

    I have to develop a stored procedure where a part of the where-clause of the select of a cursor depends on the input parameter.
    My procedure should be something like this:
    procedure myproc (WHERECLAUSE     in varchar2(100)) is
    begin
    declare
    cursor mycur is
    select *
    from mytable
    where a = b
    and c = d
    and <WHERECLAUSE>
    begin
    open mycur;
    loop
    fetch ...
    end;
    end myproc;
    In order to join the parameter WHERECLAUSE to the select of the cursor I've thought of using the dynamyc sql.
    My problem is if I have to use a dynamyc sql, should I put the whole of my code (declaration of cursor and the following statements) in a uinque variable to be executed by the dynamyc sql?
    What do you adivise me to use?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
    In order to retrieve the fields as you had mentioned
    QUERY_STR := 'SELECT field1, field2 FROM TABLENAME' || WHERE_STR;
    OPEN c FOR query_strtry to use this
    declare variables
    var1 <data type of field1>
    var2 <data type of field2>
    QUERY_STR := 'SELECT field1, field2 FROM TABLENAME' || WHERE_STR;
    OPEN c FOR query_str
    LOOP
        FETCH c INTO var1, var2;
        EXIT WHEN c%NOTFOUND;
        <do what ever you want with those fields>
    END LOOP;
    CLOSE c;Hope this might help you
    cheers

  • Dynamic where clause based on Page Items

    I need an example of how to build a where clause with values from page items.
    I want to do something like the following but do not know the syntax:
    sql_string := ' where lab.ceventno is not null and lab.cts_no_show is null ';
    if :P1_RECID is not null then
    sql_string := sql_string || ' and lab.recid = ' || :P1_RECID;
    end if;
    if :P1_CAS_NO is not null then
    if :P1_CAS_TYPE = 1 then
    sql_string := ' and upper(lab.cas_no) = ' || :P1_CAS_NO;
    elsif :P1_CAS_TYPE = 2 then
    sql_string := ' and lab.ceventno in (Select ceventno from msds_ing where cas_no = ' || :P1_CAS_NO;
    end if;
    end if;
    :P2_WHERE := sql_string;
    I put this in a process that I want to pass to Page 2 when search button is pushed. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but this doesn't seem to work.
    When I print out :P2_WHERE, I only get the first line
    'where lab.ceventno is not null and lab.cts_no_show is null '
    Any help would be much appreciaed
    Thanks
    Pam

    Pam - We need more details about exactly what you are doing, e.g., how are you going to dynamically execute that SQL, what items are on page 1 that will be submitted (all search criteria), what happens on page 2, etc.
    But here are a few points:
    1. when building a query for dynamic execution, put the bind variables like ":P1_RECID" into the generated SQL, e.g., do this:
      sql_string := 'select ename from emp where empno = :P1_EMPNO';
    not
       sql_string:= 'select ename from emp where empno ='||:P1_EMPNO;They may appear to give you the same results but the first introduces non-reusable SQL into the shared pool (this is bad).
    2. When code runs that references user-entered item values on the current page, like "if :P1_CAS_NO is not null", you have to make sure those items have been submitted (as with a page-submitting button) before you reference them. So if the user enters search criteria into form fields, then submits the page, then you reference those items in the SQL-building process, you'll be okay.
    3. Watch for errors like your line: "sql_string := ' and upper(lab.cas_no) = ' || :P1_CAS_NO;" which you may have intended to be "sql_string := sql_string||' and upper(lab.cas_no) = ' || :P1_CAS_NO;".

  • How to set dynamic WHERE clause to VO from backingBean?

    Hi,
    Can any one let me know the best way to add the dynamic WHERE clause in to VO query.
    I have created AM (with AMImpl.java) & VO (with VOImpl.java & VORowImpl.java) in my model project. I suppose to set the WHERE condition at runtime while the user click the search button. I am handling the user button click at UI layer backingBean. From the backing bean I could able to get the objct of the VO and set the where clause by below code.
            ValueExpression valueExp = elFactory.createValueExpression(elContext, "#{bindings.UserSearchVO1Iterator}", Object.class);
            DCIteratorBinding dcIter = (DCIteratorBinding)valueExp.getValue(elContext);
            ViewObject userSearchVO = dcIter.getViewObject();
            userSearchVO.setWhereClause("lower(usr_login) LIKE ':1' and usr_udf_suid like ':2' ");
            userSearchVO.executeQuery();But as I fear this is not the right way to do it. So I am creating the cutom method inside the VOImpl.java and triggring that method by creating one more cutom method in AMImpl.java. But I dont know how to invoke this AM method from backingBean.
    AMImpl method
    public void initDetails()
            UserSearchVOImpl vo = getUserSearchVO1();
            vo.initQuery();
    VOImpl method
        public void initQuery()
            setWhereClause("lower(usr_login) LIKE 'a%' and usr_udf_suid like '%1144%'");
            executeQuery();
        }Can any one guide me which is the best way to set the where clause to VO? How to call the AM method from backingBean?
    Thanks

  • Use value from tabular form column in the LOV where clause of another column

    Hi
    Using APEX 4.2 on 11g
    In a tabular form I want to filter the values in a Popup Key LOV based on the value of another column (same row).
    i.e. I want to get the value of one column and use it in the where clause for the Popup LOV on the same row.
    e.g. where COL 2 is a popup LOV
    COL 1
    COL 2
    1
    LOV SQL: SELECT a FROM b WHERE c = <value from COL 1>
    2
    LOV SQL: SELECT a FROM b WHERE c = <value from COL 1>
    3
    LOV SQL: SELECT a FROM b WHERE c = <value from COL 1>
    The value in COL 1 does not change once the row is created. It is a hidden ID field.
    Is this possible?
    Nick

    Anyone have any ideas?
    I thought getting the value from one column and using it in another column would be commonly used functionality... I just can't seem to work it out.

  • How to establish a where clause dinamically in a form?

    I've a form with a table activities that must call (with a custom button) to a form with (only) the documents associated to this activity.
    In the BD i have the table Activities (pk=codi_acti), the table documents (pk=codi_docu) and one more table for associate both called activities_documents (pk=codi_acti, codi_docu).
    The user editing the activity X after click the button must see all the documents of X but nothing else.
    My first attempt was a MD Form with the table activities_documents as master and the table documents as detail, but documents have a blob column and then this is not possible.
    Now I'm trying to establish the where clause to perform this but I can't get it. I pass codi_acti to this (documents) form and then I should show all the documents that have codi_docu in the table activities_documents, otherwise SELECT * FROM documents WHERE codi_docu IN (SELECT codi_docu FROM activities_documents WHERE codi_docu=:codi_acti).
    How can I achieve this?
    Please Help!!!
    Sincerely
    David Montejo

    Forms can autoquery data based on the URL used to call the form. You can build the URL
    and call the form with the required query, on successfull form submission you can do the following
    begin
    declare
    my_url varchar2(2000);
    n_rl_id number;
    begin
    n_rh_id:=p_session.get_value_as_NUMBER(
    p_block_name => 'MASTER_BLOCK',
    p_attribute_name => 'A_RH_ID',
    p_index => 1
    my_url := 'PORTAL30.wwa_app_module.link?' ||
    'p_arg_names=_moduleid&p_arg_values=<your form id>' ||
    '&p_arg_names=_show_header&p_arg_values=YES' ||
    '&p_arg_names=rh_id&p_arg_values=' || LTRIM(TO_CHAR(n_rh_id)) ||
    '&p_arg_names=_rh_id_cond&p_arg_values=%3D';
    -- %3d means "="
    go (my_url);
    end;
    end;

  • Dynamically set ViewObject where clause dynamically from Java bean

    I have a requirement to display all of the records from a table when the JSP is first brought up, so my View Object looks like this:
    "select emp_name from emp"
    Then the users wants to ability to pass paramters to that View Object to refine the list so from by Java class I tried to do this:
    ViewObject vo = cpd.findViewObject("EmpViewObject");
    vo.setWhereClause("empName = :1");
    vo.setWhereClauseParam(1,varEmpName);
    vo.executeQuery();
    But I am getting JBO errors and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Can anyone offer a hint as to how I can do this?

    this is exactly how the code is done -
    1. emp_name in the View Object
    2. emp_name in the where clause
    The two are identical. I have tried many variations of this - any time I set the where clause from my bean I get an error.
    When I take the SQL stmnt and run it in TOAD it returns expected rows when I run it in the SQL worksheet in JDev it gives an invalid Identifier - but if I hard code the where clause in the View Object it returns the same results as TOAD.

  • How to dynamically build where clause in Linq

    Hello everyone,
    Oracle DB:11gR2
    Oracle Client: 11.2.0.3.0 (ODP.NET)
    Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio
    VS 2010 (C#)
    In a Windows Form, we need to query the data based on the values of dropdown listboxes, which user will select.
    Let's say, two combox, one is for Department and one is for Salary
    Department:
    -1 All
    10 Department 1
    20 Department 2
    30 Department 3
    Salary:
    -1 All
    1 < 20000
    2 20000 to 50000
    3 50000 to 100000
    4 > 100000
    Here is C# code to query data:
    using (var myEDMctx = new HREntities())
    var LINQrslt = from emp in myEDMctx.EMPLOYEES
    select emp;
    The default values for both combox should be All.
    How to write the dynamic where clause for this LINQ?
    Thanks in advance!!!

    There is nothing Oracle-specific about dynamic LINQ queries. Dynamic LINQ queries are handled all the same way, no matter which data source you use. Microsoft describes how to use Dynamic LINQ here:

  • How to set dynamic where clause in ADF?

    Hi,
    I have a View object called BillInfoVO. This has
    all the information about who created the request, the time , status etc.,
    I need to display this VO in a jsp. But before I display, i need to fileter this
    VO results with different where clauses according to the role of the user.
    For example, if the role is admin, then
    where clause should be 'status = 'Completed, and created by = 'Current user'
    If the role is requestor, then
    the where clause should be
    sales manager id = 'Current user' and
    Status != Complete etc.,
    Could any one please let me know how I can
    dynamically set the where clause to filter the appropirate
    result row set in the jsp?
    Your help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    venki

    You'll create a service method in your AM that will use the setWhereClause method of a viewobject.
    Then you'll expose it as a client method.
    Then you'll drag it from your data-control onto a button in your JSF page that will call your page for the query.
    More about service methods here:

    Hi,
    My version of apps is 12.1.3.
    I created a page with a searchRN and resultRN (LinesVO). (Not a query/view link) . I am passing the id from header to the VO to restrict the linesVO
    The controller correctly passes the id from searchRN to AM, but in AM, the where clause is not set and I am not getting the desired result:
    My AM Code:
        public void InvokeGo(String Hdrval)
                    LineVOImpl LineVO1 = getLineVO1();
                    LineVO1.setWhereClauseParams(null); // Always reset
                     System.out.println("AMIMPL:Hdrval = "+ Hdrval);
                    <prints the header_Value which is passed from CO>

                                            throw new OAException(message, OAException.ERROR);
                                    else
                                        System.out.println("Not All Parameters are Null.Building Where Clause");
                                         < prints the line above>
                                        LineVO1.setWhereClause
                                        ("Header_name = :1");
                        System.out.println("Paremeter Set are: Header_name:"+Hdrval);
                        <prints the above line like :   Paremeter Set are: Header_name:Hdr_Name_1
                        LineVO1.setWhereClauseParam(0,Hdrval);
                        System.out.println("Inside MainAM invokeGO Method:"+LineVO1.getQuery());
                        < prints:Inside MainAM invokeGO Method:SELECT * FROM (select LINE_ID,hdr.HEADER_ID,LINE_NUMBER,LINE_NAME,Attach,hdr.header_name from xxtr_hdr hdr, xxtr_line line
    where hdr.header_id=line.header_id) QRSLT  WHERE (Header_name = :1)>
                        LineVO1.executeQuery();
    The issue is in the SQL build. I guess after setting the where clause, it should appear like :
    QRSLT  WHERE (Header_name = "Hdr_Name_1"
    Thanks

    Hu Sumit,
    I am doing that:
    LineVO1.setWhereClauseParam(0,Hdrval);
    before executequery. I even hard coded
    LineVO1.setWhereClauseParam(0,"XXXX");
    but still it din't work. I guess I am missing something small. because I have done this thing a lot of times earlier and it had worked.

  • How to set the where clause of a value set on the basis of a form field

    I am using a DFF(Descriptive FlexField), which needs to display the value of a certain column(say columnA) on the basis of the value of another column(say columnB).
    So i have created a value set which points to the table which has both these columns, and the DFF uses this value set. However, the problem is that I have not put any where clause in the value set, because of which i cannot handle the exact fetch returns more than one rows error.
    The query has to be as follows:
    select ColumnA from tbl where ColumnB = [ a form value ];
    What I want to know is how can i get the value of a certain field of a certain block of the form in the above query.

    Just have a look over these two statements if it solves your problem
    one time where clause
    Set_Block_Property('BLOCK_NAME',ONETIME_WHERE,your form item);
    dynamic where clause
    set_block_property('BLOCK_NAME'default_where, your form itme)
    you can where clause at run time from any procedure or some triggers

  • How to pass back results of gATP from APO to R/3

    Dear all,
    we're currently working on a gATP implementation and face following open challenges for which we kindly ask you for your valuable support:
    1.) We need to pass back the allocated CVC of the gATP (product allocation) check from APO to z-append fields of VBAP. In order to do that we implemented additional field catalog fields which are updated in one of the product allocation userexits on APO side. Using an enhancement of form MVERF_PRUEFEN in SAPFV45V the data which is passed back from APO to R/3 via field_catalog can be written into the respective VBAP fields. ONLY: this doesn't work for a "complete delivery only" customer/order as MVERF_PRUEFEN is not called in such a case.
    ---> Do you have any proposals where/how to implement the functionality to write back the results passed back by APO into VBAP fields?
    2.) In case of incomplete confirmation (not enough qty) the "APO Product Availability Overview" screen appears. We do not want to show this screen in APO to our users. There should be just a warning message but not this full screen. Do you have any ideas how to turn off the screen (similar to what happens if the order is posted in background)
    Thanks again for your great input and help!
    M.

    Dear Mohan,
    thanks for your reply.
    We actually use the functionality you described already for passing the required additional information from R/3 to APO. What we're currently searching, is a solution to pass back results (such as the allocated CVC or additional information from APO) from APO back to R/3 and store it there in VBAP-appends.
    Thanks,

  • Readonly table with where clause value from previous page

    Hi
    I am using jdeveloper 10.1.3.
    I have a globalhome page where the user enteres a reference number. i have a backing bean for the globalhome page that runs a method to run an sql that seraches for this reference number, if the reference number exsits the user is directed to a detail page.
    this detail page should display details of this reference number.
    i have set up a read only table to display this data based on a view object with a bind varaible in the where clause.
    however i am unsure how to set this bind varaible value to the reference entered in the first globalhome page.
    please can anyone advise how to do this.
    regards

    Hi,
    You can follow following steps to achieve this
    1) Write a custom method in your Application module like
    public void executeMyVO(String bindVarValue)
    MyVOImpl vo= getMyVo();
    vo.setNamedWhereClauseParam(<bind variable name decalred in VO>,bindVarValue);
    vo.execute();
    2) Expose the above method to client. (Right click AM-->Client-->Shift method from left to right)
    3) In the pagedef of globalhome page, create a method action for the aboce created custom method
    4) execute the method action from your backing bean after you run an sql that seraches for this reference number.
    Hope this help.
