How to pass the array as a hidden variable

hi im trying to pass the list of employees as an array and pass it to servlet as a hidden variable and retrieve the same array in servlet
can any one help me in this . urgently required.

I have created only one
<input type="hidden" name="empName">
when the user check the check box i want to add all the values in the empName, click the Next page, Again we show some check box i want to add some more names to the hidden value
When the user click back i want to show which chekboxes user selected.

I am given a tabular report to build in OBIEE 11.1.1.7 version using insurance data.
I have to show different types of claim names and their corresponding count in the table. One of the calculations require me to use the total no of claims(i.e sum of all the claims).
Example:
Total No of claims: 600
Total No of Auto Claim: 60
I have to create a table on Auto Claim like:
               claim types       count
                    X                    10
                    Y                    20
                    Z                    30
I was calculating total no of claims by using dynamic repository variable as it was a constant value. Example: repository_variable1: select count(claim ID) from Insurance; In report I was just using value of (repository_variable1)
Now client has asked us to give date prompt so the total no of claims (assumed as 600) will change with respect to period. I can calculate total no of claims with respect to different claim type (as shown in the table above) with respect to period filter in the report.
The problem I am facing now is, I need the count of all the claims on a partucular period too. Repository variable is giving always calculating the count as 600. But the count should change with respect to period selected. How to get this value?
Can I create a presentation variable in the prompt and pass this value as an argument for repository variable?
Please help. I am in urgent need of the solution.

I tried creating it as metric. But the problem is my pivot table is on Auto Claims.
Let me try to make myself a bit more clear.
Total No of claims in fact table: 600
Total No of Auto Claims in fact table: 60
                claim types(auto claims)       count        Calculation
                    X                                        10             10/600
                    Y                                        20             20/600
                    Z                                        30             30/600
So I need to access total no of claims to calculate. I cant use a metric as the count will take group by with respect to auto claim type and give value only for X claim.

How to pass the grep result into a variable in Unix

I have the following statements in my unix batch script:

I want to grep the the first line in the text file and pass it to a variable and then using awk programming, I want to print for each variable (JOBNAME, PROCNAME, JOBDESC and PARMS), instead of using grep 4 times.
Can somebody please help.
Each line of my text file is in the the following format:
00001JOB1~PROCNAME1~This is a procedure~10,'A','B'~
And also I want to check whether $1 passed (part of JONAME) is not fount, then it should exit with error message, if $1 (input parameter) does not match, I want to exit the program, instead of processing further statements.

If you want to return error codes, you can do that with the return command.
If the process name isn't found, grep will return a specific error code... from man grep
Normally, exit status is 0 if selected lines are found and 1 otherwise.
But the exit status is 2 if an error occurred, unless the -q or quiet or silent option is used and a selected line is found.
So you can use the exit code of grep in an if statement to decide what return code you want to return with your own script.

The best way to do what you want depends on what you want. Start by describing what you need to do. It's best to post some sample data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statments) and what results you want from that sample data. (See the forum FAQ: https://forums.oracle.com/message/9362002)
If you have ideas about how to do the job (e.g., populating a temporary table) it can be helpful to include those, too, but distinguish clearly between WHAT you need to do and HOW you might do it.
As Bencol suggested, a SYS_REFCURSOR might be the best way to pass back the results.
Since you didn't post your table, or even describe what you wanted to do with it, I'll illustrate using scott.emp, which is probably on your system.
Say you wanted a procedure that took a DATE as an argument, and returned a some designated columns (empno, ename and hiredate in the example below) for all employees hired on or after the given DATE. You might write a procedure like this:
CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE hired_since
(   start_date IN   DATE
,   out_data    OUT SYS_REFCURSOR

BEGIN

Using TestStand How I pass an array of data into a DLL (IPC3.dll) for serial communication

I am ussing a DLL created by another party. I have the list of the C declaretions. I have been able to write a seq that can turn the comport ON/OFF or select a different port but I have not been able to send or recieved any data. I have created an array of bytes(unsigned 8-bit integers)to send and recieved data but nothing goes out or in.

How to pass the data from a input table to RFC data service?

Hi,
I am doing a prototype with VC, I'm wondering how VC pass the data from a table view to a backend data service? For example, I have one RFC in the backend system with a tabel type importing parameter, now I want to pass all the data from an input table view to the RFC, I guess it's possible but I don't know how to do it.
I try to create some events between the input table and data service, but seems there is no a system event can export the whole table to the backend data service.

Thanks for your answer, I tried the solution 2, I create "Submit" button, and ser the mapping scope to be "All data rows", it only works when I select at least one row, otherwise the data would not be passed.
Another question is I have serveral imported table parameter, for each table I have one "submit" event, I want these tables to be submitted at the same time, but if I click the submit button in one table toolbar, I can only submit the table data which has a submit button clicked, for other tables, the data is not passed, how can I achieve it?

For M$ SQL server I find that it only works when U use the fully qualified name...
e.g. catalod.dbo.my_procedure_name 'variable'
My full query in the Report Query window is something like this:
EXEC arc.dbo.jasper_Invoice 1000
Note that you may find that selecting from VIEWS / TABLES fails for no apparent reason and iReport will prompt you with the usual very unhelpful (we have what we "pay" for) prompt, stating that "The document is empty".
To work around this issue, where a statement like "SELECT * FROM arc.dbo.acc_invoices WHERE Invoice_id=1000" does not work, simply create a PROC, something like:
CREATE PROC jasper_MyProc (@my_rec_id integer) AS
SELECT * FROM arc.dbo.acc_invoices WHERE Invoice_id= @my_rec_id integer
...to wrap your SELECT statement, then call the PROC

Hello,
first you have to configure your Portal and your BO Server correct that you can view Reports out of the Portal. Check the Installation Guide for the SAP integration Kit on How to do that.
Than you could use an openDoc URL which is an URL where you call your Report with your Parameters directly. After creating this URL you could create an iView with this URL and deploy it in your Portal. Use this second Guide on How to create this URLs

Create a function group.
Define global data (there is a similiar menu point to jump to the top include).
Create one or two function modules, with which you can read and write the global data.
In your BADI methods you can access the global data with help of your function modules. It will stay in memory through the whole transaction.

By selection screen, what do you mean? There is no selection screen in WDA as there was in classic dynpro. Do you mean you are using the Select-Options reusable component? Are you wanting to call a standard transaction via ITS - SAPGUI for HTML? Please provide more details to your question.
