  • How to pass in variables using the command line when starting ActionScript native app

    How do I pass in variables or startup arguments using the command line when starting an ActionScript native app? For example, I have my app call MySweetWidget and it has been compiled with Adobe AIR captive runtime so now I have MySweetWidget.exe.
    In the command line, I am calling MySweetWidget.exe and would like to pass in variables or properties to the application. I would assume that those variables are then read from the loaderInfo.parameters object.
    Please let me know if the Adobe AIR runtime supports passing in parameters to the native runtime. If so, I would like help determining the correct format of how to pass in the variables. Then would you read those from the loaderinfo.parameters object?
    Thanks,
    Jeff

    I found the answer to my own question:
    Yes it is a supported feature. It is documented on the following page:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FlashPlatform/reference/actionscript/3/flash/desktop/NativeApp lication.html#event:invoke
    When you subscribe to the invoke event of the NativeApplication it will subsequently dispatch the event and you read the e.arguments Array object to get the startup arguments passed into the native application.

  • How to pass session variables via the URL in CF10?

    Hi
    I have a client with some old Flash functionality (AS2). The SWF allows the user to upload an image. However a new session is being started when the upload script is called. I have added the CFID, CFTOKEN and JSESSIONID to the URL as I did in the past to maintain the session but I believe you cannot do this anymore with CF10, if this is correct can anyone point me in the right direction of how I would accomplish maintaining the session for the upload?
    This has a note about CF 10 - http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1178420

  • How to pass a variable into sqlplus script from file

    here is my problem :
    I have plenty of sql scripts to run. So every time I need to run sqlplus /nolog @scriptxx.name<enter> and then type login<enter>, password<enter>, second login<enter> , second password<enter> - and when it finishes again from the beggining with next one...
    I am fed up with passing these parameters every time. I would like to create a file (files?) with these logins and passwords (located f.ex. in directory where I run the script) then tells, in some way, to my scripts that answers for their questions is inside this file(s).
    Is there any way to do it in such a way ?
    something like: accept DataUser char %read from file user1.txt without my inerteraction%
    ps.
    I cannot add directly these parameters to script because I need to run them on different servers (DEVs and PRODs) and every server has different users and passwords
    KP>

    Actually the START command would resolve the issue, in conjunction with passing parameters and DEFINEs in a sensible manner.
    DEFINE dathasb = '&1'
    ACCEPT dathasb char prompt 'etc...'
    When dathasb already has a value, ACCEPT won't prompt.
    Too many people start hacking and don't use the power of Oracle because they don't the needful : Reading the documentation.
    Other than that obviously the series of scripts needs of course to be re-engineered.
    Asking interactively for a password .... even 20 years back we already didn't do this anymore.
    Of course that was the time when exporting anything beyond the VAX 11/750 to Eastern Europe was prohibited because of US export regulations ;)
    You could store the passwords in Oracle Wallet and be done with it.
    You could use OS authenticated accounts and be done with it.
    But then you still didn't post a version, even not when requested.

  • How to pass input value to the IN parameter in a function

    Hi ,
    I'm new to pl/sql programming.
    The below function is used inside a package and the package is invoked in visual studio.
    The function uses 2 input parameters.
    Out of which 'in_report_parameter_id' value comes thru job processor service 's job request.
    The second IN paramter values are hard coded in the function.
    I'm not able to understand this.
    If the values are hard coded , how to make sure that only the hard coded values are the right ones?
    Please anyone could explain to me?
    I really dont have good idea about how to pass INPUT parameter to the functions or procedure
    Is there any nice document which could give me good understanding about what are the ways or types we could pass values to the input parameter in subprograms?

    This is not a design I would use, but should work if coded properly. I would probably build a reference cursor query as text and use one open fetch and close.
    You have 2 input parameters, in_report_parameter_id and in_which. I could not find where in_report_parameter_id was used in the program, but the value passed in for in_which is being used in IF logic to decide how to open the cursor. After the cursor is open rows are being fetched and eventually the cursor is closed.
    The values in_which are compared to are hard-coded. It is the programmer's job to make sure the values listed are the right values and the actions taken are also correct. Your program is assuming that if the first 2 values are not encountered the third one listed is the one you want.
    To pass input values to a procedure you merely provide the values as a literal or variable in the call, something like
    whatever := get_class_text_str(1,'SELECT');

  • How to pass custom parameters to the Notification message body in a process

    Hi All,
    We are migrating from ORACLE workflows to Oracle OWB process flows as part of upgrade to Oracle 11g R2. Earlier in workflow notification mesages we could attach custom attributes (eg X_NAME) and reference the custom attributes in the notification message body (&X_NAME) to dynamically build the message body as per the custom attribute values.
    I tried to add a cutom parameter X_EMAIL_ID to a OWB process notification activity and trying to pass it to the notification message body by giving the value "This message is from &X_EMAIL_ID" in TEXT_BODY. But when I get the notification message it shows only "This message is from" and it does not show anything about X_EMAIL_ID.
    Please advise Please help us if anyone have used any workaround to dynamically populate the TEXT_BODY in a notification activity based on custom parameters.
    Thanks and regards,
    Shankar

    Hi David,
    Thank you for your suggestions. When I try to bind the variable to the notification activity parameter TEXT_BODY I get this error - VLD-10035: The value of parameter TEXT_BODY in a NOTIFICATION activity must be a literal value, bindings or expressions are not allowed. It looks like the text_body can have only literal values. Could you please advise if you received any such error or how could you resolve them.
    Thanks and regards,
    Shankar

  • How can i view the variables of the session memory

    Hi experts
       How can i view the variables of the session memory.Such as I want display the variables of memory which id is 'BULRN' in ABAP debug.
    In program i can use import from memory id visit the momery of session,but i don't know the name of variables which store in momery of my session.

    Its not possible to view in the debug mode..
    SAP memory is a memory area to which all main sessions within a SAPgui have access. You can use SAP memory either to pass data from one program to another within a session, or to pass data from one session to another. Application programs that use SAP memory must do so using SPA/GPA parameters (also known as SET/GET parameters). These parameters can be set either for a particular user or for a particular program using the SET PARAMETER statement. Other ABAP programs can then retrieve the set parameters using the GET PARAMETER statement. The most frequent use of SPA/GPA parameters is to fill input fields on screens
    SAP global memory retains field value through out session.
    set parameter id 'MAT' field v_matnr.
    get parameter id 'MAT' field v_matnr.
    They are stored in table TPARA.
    ABAP memory is a memory area that all ABAP programs within the same internal session can access using the EXPORT and IMPORT statements. Data within this area remains intact during a whole sequence of program calls. To pass data
    to a program which you are calling, the data needs to be placed in ABAP memory before the call is made. The internal session of the called program then replaces that of the calling program. The program called can then read from the ABAP memory. If control is then returned to the program which made the initial call, the same process operates in reverse.
    ABAP memory is temporary and values are retained in same LUW.
    export itab to memory id 'TEST'.
    import itab from memory Id 'TEST'.
    Here itab should be declared of same type and length.

    We want to access a variable from the run method of a
    Thread externally in a class or in a method. I presume you mean a member variable of the thread class and not a local variable inside the run() method.
    Even
    though I make the variable as public /public static, I
    could get the value till the end of the run method
    only. After that scope of the variable gets lost
    resulting to null value in the called method/class..
    I find it easier to implement the Runnable interface rather than extending a thread. This allows your class to extend another class (ie if you extend thread you can't extend something else, but if you implement Runnable you have the ability to inherit from something). Here's how I would write it:
    public class SampleSynchronisation
      public static void main(String[] args)
        SampleSynchronisation app = new SampleSynchronisation();
      public SampleSynchronisation()
        MyRunnable runner = new MyRunnable();
        new Thread(runner).start();
        // yield this thread so other thread gets a chance to start
        Thread.yield();
        System.out.println("runner's X = " + runner.getX());
      class MyRunnable implements Runnable
        String X = null;
        // this method called from the controlling thread
        public synchronized String getX()
          return X;
        public void run()
          System.out.println("Inside MyRunnable");
          X = "MyRunnable's data";
      } // end class MyRunnable
    } // end class SampleSynchronisation>
    public class SampleSynchronisation
    public static void main(String df[])
    sampleThread sathr= new sampleThread();
    sathr.start();
    System.out.println("This is the value from the run
    method "+sathr.x);
    // I should get Inside the run method::: But I get
    only Inside
    class sampleThread extends Thread
    public String x="Inside";
    public void run()
    x+="the run method";

    Your main thread continues to run after the sathr thread is completed, consequently the output is done before the sathr thread has modified the string. You need to make the main thread pause, this will allow sathr time to run to the point where it will modify the string and then you can print it out. Another way would be to lock the object using a synchronized block to stop the main thread accessing the string until the sathr has finished with it.

    Hi all,
    Would appreciate your assistance with the following, I'm
    trying to set up a go to detail page sb that passes two variable in
    the body of the URL rather than the standard one.
    The code i've tried is -
    <td><A HREF="gggggggtest.asp?<%=
    Server.HTMLEncode(MM_keepNone) + ((MM_keepNone!="")?"&":"") +
    "PCL2ID=" + othermenutwo.Fields.Item("PCL2ID").Value

    othermenutwo.Fields.Item("PCL2PC1ID").Value
    %><%=(othermenutwo.Fields.Item("PCL2Description").Value)%></A></td>
    Where the PCL1ID and the PCL2ID are the variables
    The normal code generated by the go to detail page sb with
    one variable is -
    <td><a href="ggggggtest.asp?<%=
    Server.HTMLEncode(MM_keepNone) + ((MM_keepNone!="")?"&":"") +
    "PCL2ID=" + othermenutwo.Fields.Item("PCL2ID").Value
    %>"><%=(othermenutwo.Fields.Item("PCL2Description").Value)%></a></td>
    Unfortunatley my code tweaking isn't working as the second
    variable isn't being sent, any help would be gratefully appreciated
    Thanks

    Instead of using DW's 'go to detail page' option, simply set
    up the link the manual way in DW using the Link browser. Select the
    file you want to link to and then use the parameters button at the
    bottom of the 'Select File' dialogue to set the parameters to be
    passed with the link. You can then manually set the name of the
    parameter to be passed and then select its value from a recordset.
    The key thing is that you can set as many parameters as you like,
    so you can set both the parameters you want.
    On the detail page you then filter by the parameter name you
    chose (or both).
    Personally I always code links this way rather than using the
    go to detail page option as you get much better control of what is
    going on.
