How to place a List Object  in JSF?(non column wise)

I have a list of Objects (A;B;C;D;...)
I want to show them like
A B C
D E F
G..........
not
A
B
C
D
How can I realize this?
I thought of dataTable, but in dataTable each Object occupies a row. I want to have several objects of a list in one line. Is it possible using panelGrid?
Can somebody help me with a piece of code?
Thank you!!!

Works in at least JSF 1.2 only. That's where they introduced 'unified EL' to get JSF+JSTL to work together. If you're still using JSF 1.1 or older, then you don't have another choice than to look for a component library such as Tomahawk or to write a new component yourself.

  • How to customize a List object to contain line items other than String

    I'd like to create a List that contains line items with the following form:
    check box followed by a string followed by a button.
    I'd like the list to be backed by an object array that has a similar form:
    boolean, String, boolean
    which define if the item is checked, it's title, and whether or not to display the button.
    So I'd like to have code something like this:
    // ten items in this lists
    MyList myList = new MyList(10);
    // first item
    MyObject myObject = new MyObject(false, "Item 1", true);
    myList.add(myObject);
    // add the rest of the items...I can't use Swing, I only have AWT available in a J2ME environment.
    Where do I start?
    Can I do this with List?

  • How to make a List box connected to a Column Chart work?

    Hi...
    I've just installed my Xcelsius 2008 and am trying to adapt the dashboard I developed in Xcelsius 4.5 version to the new software.
    I have a fish-eye to filter which customer I want to see the performance for.
    I have two list boxes where I can decided which KPI and which factory.
    The chart should adapt according to the choices in the list boxes.
    In the excel spreadsheet I have a long list of rows with a vlookup function based on the two cells connected to the list boxes. This means as insert in for list box I am using position.
    It just doesn't work.
    Can someone help?
    Rosemary

    I have checked all cells and all are correct (I even started the dashboard from scratch).
    I believe it is something to do with my set-up but I have no clue what:
    If I use for my list boxes the position insert in type and choose a cell which I use for my vlookup, meaning:
    4     Insert in cell
    1     NC performance
    2     Pro-active Reporting
    3     Requests Response
    4     POD provision
    5     Damage / Loss Rate
    (From 1 to 5 are the labels for the list box)
    I have a vlookup cell:="C"&W8&"_K" & W18&"_S"&W40 which indicates which data is to be used in the chart (according to the selection, the vlooup fills out a cells range with the corresponding performance).
    For the chart I am using the cells range with the vlookup formulas.
    What could be wrong?
    Thanks

    Hi Shailesh,
    Thanks for the mail...
    but the problem is different. ...i wanted a list of used quotations and not used quotations saparate list.
    because we have same vendor for same material different price .
    so when we create PO we should use Quotation only one time.
    poen RFQ and closed RFQ is different .i means RFQ not at maintained in ME47. not at received the price from vendor or not at enterd the price. ... so that is different..
    if the non used quotation will display in ME21N  document overview it should be very usefull...
    Thanks in advance.

  • How to cast an object in JSF?

    I am working on a travel application. A user can have several bookings and a booking can have several components. A component can be either air or hotel. I want to list the user's bookings on the client using JSF datatable.
    <h:dataTable var="component" value="#{booking.components}">
    Now depending upon the class of component I need to present different information.
    My question is how to cast the variable in JSF ?
    Thanks

    You can use the String value of Object#getClass()#getName() to lookup the classname and evaluate it in the 'rendered' attribute.
    Basic example:
    package mypackage;
    public class Animal {}
    package mypackage;
    public class Cat extends Animal {}
    package mypackage;
    public class Dog extends Animal {}
    package mypackage;
    public class Fish extends Animal {}MyBeanpublic List<Animal> getList() {
        List<Animal> animals = new ArrayList<Animal>();
        animals.add(new Dog());
        animals.add(new Cat());
        animals.add(new Fish());
        return animals;
    }JSF<h:dataTable value="#{myBean.list}" var="item">
        <h:column>
            <h:outputText value="It's a Cat" rendered="#{item.class.name == 'mypackage.Cat'}" />
            <h:outputText value="It's a Dog" rendered="#{item.class.name == 'mypackage.Dog'}" />
            <h:outputText value="It's a Fish" rendered="#{item.class.name == 'mypackage.Fish'}" />
        </h:column>
    </h:dataTable>As far there is no way to cast objects in JSF.
    Edit
    If you find it useful, move the classname request to the superclass:
    public class Animal {
        public String getType() {
            String className = getClass().getName();
            return className.substring(className.lastIndexOf('.') + 1);
    }Which makes life easier without struggling with package names:<h:outputText value="It's a Cat" rendered="#{item.type == 'Cat'}" />
    <h:outputText value="It's a Dog" rendered="#{item.type == 'Dog'}" />
    <h:outputText value="It's a Fish" rendered="#{item.type == 'Fish'}" />Message was edited by:

  • How to get list of all JSF beans

    How can one get a list of all JSF beans?
    To get a particular JSF bean one does
       static public Object findJSFBean(String beanName)

    Several ways:
    1) Store some key in the request scope indicating the "id" of the wizard.
    2) Use a single session scoped bean which references all related session scoped beans so that you have a single main point of reference.
    3) Consider conversation scope. Apache Orchestra and JBoss Seam have their solutions.1. Can you elaborate on this?On start of the wizard generate/assign some unique identifier which you pass to the next request everytime as a hidden parameter. Use this identifier to identify a separate 'wizard conversation scope'.
    2. Yeah, this might work. But I'd need to have a common entry point (such as overriding doPost of the default faces servlet) to destroy the wizard bean whose pages have ended, which means hardcoding page names in my java code. Also, my wizard would have to register itself in this map. That's why this solution seems very much like what I was asking for originally -- that is, the session bean has a list of all wizard beans in it.Just destroying the session bean at its own ought to be sufficient. E.g. externalContext.getSessionMap().put("managedBeanName", null); destroys the session scoped bean associated with the specified managed bean name.
    3. This is the ideal solution. Unfortunately, the documentation is not very good, and I could not find examples. Hopefully this will make its way into JSF 3.0.Can't help any much with this further.

    Hi Ramesh,
    Did you want to bind list object to bar chart? I made a simple code to achieve binding list to bar chart.
    public partial class Form0210 : Form

    List<string> xValues = new List<string>(new string[] { "1:00", "2:00", "3:00", "4:00", "5:00" });

  • How to generate an SE63 object list in batch periodically ?

    Dear experts,
    we translate program and DDIC-texts of our add-ons continiously to english and
    french, in order to keep up translations with the ongoing development we create
    the necessary SE63-object list once a week. Since this process is creating
    several background-jobs dynamically it is not possible to mark this inital job as
    to be repeated periodically. I do understand that but I don't know why there
    seems to be absolutely no way to get this done automatically once a week.
    Here is what I have already tried in vain in order to achieve this:
    - a report performing a CALL TRANSACTION on transaction SE63/SLW3
    - an eCATT-script including a TCD-Script on transaction SLW3
      (the script works fine if it is started directly, but the only FM that I have found
       to start a script with in batch ( 'ECATT_EXECUTE' ) does not do it, but comes
       back with a returncode zero, as if it did.
    - and I even tried to start the above mentioned eCATT-script by a report doing
      a CALL TRANSACTION on transaction SECATT providing the necessary
      field settings for the initial and following popup start screen.
    Nothing seems to work. The SAP notes on this topic are as useful as the
    SAP documentation on the subject "object list" (forget about it).
    Who has some experience with this issue respectively ideas for my problem?
    How can I generate an object list for translation once a week automatically in
    background?
    Thanks in advance
    Andreas

    Hi Lorant,
    attached you'll find a download of the ABAP which is to be used as a job step
    and an XML-Download of the eCATT-testscript, that processes the generation of a new object list in SE63.
    As both developing objects were in our companys namespace ("/HOAG/") which you cannot use, I made a copy in the z-namespace first, from which I have removed a couple of specialties that are certainly of no value for you at all, before I downloaded them for you.
    You need to give the script a name in your namespace or in the Z-namespace and then you have to adapt the scripts name in the BDCDATA generation procedure in the ABAP program appropriately.
    It may be possible that the eCATT-script doesn't run properly on your system. This is due to the fact, that the sequences of dynpros and fields contained in the dynpros differ a little in all of our 4 SAP development systems that we decided to be translation relevant, This is also the reason why I recorded individual eCATT-scripts for each one of them. It may be possible that you need to record your "own" system compliant script.
    An example: the popup screen with the print parameters can be personalized and may therefore look differently for every user in every system.
    This is also a good reason why the background job should be scheduled and performed under the name of the same user who recorded the eCATT script before!
    And just one last remark: The returncode of the job only gives you an information about wether or not the eCATT script has been executed properly but you do not know if the chain of jobs usually created by the SE63 objectlist creation functionality have been executed completely. The "system" that we set up for the automated objectlist creation is completed by a third ABAP program which is also scheduled daily as a background job. It is started about an hour after the the object list creation should be through and it verifies if the standard SAP jobs (the names of which are beginning with something like "OBJL") ran completely that day and that they are in the status "finished". If this is not the case, our "objectlist verification ABAP" sends a couple of SAP express mails to a certain selection of key users who are supposed to take a look at the system). This all works pretty well in combination!
    If you (or the person that you are going to give this task to) know enough of the german language to read it, you won't have any problem with adapting this to your needs because you'll find everything neatly commented in the source code.
    regards
    Andreas

    Hi everyone,
    I'd like to show Choose from list window using SBO 2005 PL07, Actually I want to show the Active Account of G/L Account, I set the CFL object to one column as following:
    oCFLCreationParams.ObjectType = SAPbouiCOM.BoLinkedObject.lf_GLAccounts
    oCFLCreationParams.UniqueID = "CFL"
    oCFL = oCFLs.Add(oCFLCreationParams)
    Who knows how to set Choose From list object only show Active Account and do not show Title Account.
    Thanks for your help!
    Kathy

    Hi kathy
    I have not tried it on the gl accounts. But basicaly you need to add conditions to filter it. The following is an example that you would of used for business partners but only customers.
      Dim oCFLs As SAPbouiCOM.ChooseFromListCollection
                Dim oCons As SAPbouiCOM.Conditions
                Dim oCon As SAPbouiCOM.Condition
                oCFLs = oForm.ChooseFromLists
                Dim oCFL As SAPbouiCOM.ChooseFromList
                Dim oCFLCreationParams As SAPbouiCOM.ChooseFromListCreationParams
                oCFLCreationParams = SBO_Application.CreateObject(SAPbouiCOM.BoCreatableObjectType.cot_ChooseFromListCreationParams)
                ' Adding 2 CFL, one for the button and one for the edit text.
                oCFLCreationParams.MultiSelection = False
                oCFLCreationParams.ObjectType = "2"
                oCFLCreationParams.UniqueID = "CFL1"
                oCFL = oCFLs.Add(oCFLCreationParams)
                ' Adding Conditions to CFL1
                oCons = oCFL.GetConditions()
                oCon = oCons.Add()
                oCon.Alias = "CardType"
                oCon.Operation = SAPbouiCOM.BoConditionOperation.co_EQUAL
                oCon.CondVal = "C"
                oCFL.SetConditions(oCons)
                oCFLCreationParams.UniqueID = "CFL2"
                oCFL = oCFLs.Add(oCFLCreationParams)
    The above also compensates for the tab.
    Hope it helps

  • How to get unordered/ordered list in ADF JSF

    Hey,
    So I'm thinking this is a pretty simple task but I just can't get it to work or find anything on it. I just want a simple unordered or ordered list in my JSF view, the text of each list element being an <af:outputText> value. At the moment I have something like:
    <ol>
           <li>
               <af:outputText value="something" />
          </li>
          <li>
                <af:outputText value="something2" />
                <af:goLink text=" text " id="gl1" destination="/faces/mypage.jsp"/>
                <af:outputText value="something3" />
          </li>
    <ol>So I expect it to output the below, but instead its completely messed up.
    1. something
    2. something2 text something3
    It's getting messed up because ADF is adding divs around the <af:outputText> tags, as well as completing the li tags before my ones. Surely there is a way to do this either through the framework or other means? Anyone know?

    An option is to wrap your elements in an af:panelList with listStyle='list-style-type:decimal', such that the af:panelList does the numbering of the elements for you. More information on the af:panelList can be found here: http://jdevadf.oracle.com/adf-richclient-demo/docs/tagdoc/af_panelList.html
    For the second list item made up of your 3 components, try wrapping them in a horizintal af:panelGroupLayout.
    eg:
    <af:panelList id="pl1"  listStyle='list-style-type:decimal'>
      <af:outputText value="something" />
      <af:panelGroupLayout layout="horizontal">
        <af:outputText value="something2" />
        <af:goLink text=" text " id="gl1" destination="/faces/mypage.jsp"/>
        <af:outputText value="something3" />
      </af:panelGroupLayout>
    </af:panelList>CM.
