How to play movie file using java tv

hi,
i am trying to play movie file(.mov or mpg or mp3) using java tv in linux plotform and also using jmf jar.
problem is while running appear black screen and getting exception or errors like
Unable to handle format: ima4, 480x320, FrameRate=25.0, Length=460800 0 extra bytes
Thank in adv

Well...
I don't know how to load and play a video with JavaTV. But I've seen some posts telling that .mpg files aren't accepted by the JavaTV.
Some people said that I had to use .avi files and these .avi files, if they were converted from a .mpg file, must had been converted with the Cinepack technology, but I don't know how to do this.
If you find out how to load and play a video, I'd like to know, please send me an email or access my page and post there in the comments, so I can continue doing my application with a video.

  • How to print PDF files using java print API

    Hi,
    I was goign throw lot of discusion and reading lot of forums related to print pdf files using java api. but nothing seems to be working for me. Can any one tell me how to print pdf files using java api.
    Thanks in advance

    Mike,
    Can't seem to get hold of the example described in your reply below. If you could let us have the URL to get then it would be great.
    My GUI application creates a pdf document which I need to print. I want to achieve this using the standard Java class PrinterJob (no 3rd party APIs I'm afraid, commercial restraints etc ..). I had a stab at it using the following code. When executed I get the pretty printer dialog then when I click ok to print, nothing happens!
    boolean showPrintDialog=true;
    PrinterJob printJob = PrinterJob.getPrinterJob ();
    printJob.setJobName ("Contract.pdf");
    try {
    if (showPrintDialog) {
    if (printJob.printDialog()) {
    printJob.print();
    else
    printJob.print ();
    } catch (Exception PrintException) {
                   PrintException.printStackTrace();
    Thank you and a happy new year.
    Cheers,
    Chris

    I don't use MSI's MC application so I can't directly answer your question.
    However both Win DVD 6 and PowerDVD6 play them just fine by launching the ts.ifo file.
    Yes, I know that, but that means that I should use at least two applications. I need only one front end to launch all my media files, inluding ripped DVD files, not as separate VOBs but as whole movies decribed in IFO files.

  • Safari 5.1 won't play .mov files using the embed tag

    Since upgrading to Lion (and Safari 5.1), any page that loads a .mov file using the <object><embed> tags gives me a "Plug-in Failure" error. If I take the HTML and load the same file using the <video> tag it works fine.
    Did Apple drop support for the embed tag? Is there something going on with my Quicktime plugin?
    Here is an example of a page with an embedded .mov:
    http://www.mediacollege.com/video/format/mpeg4/streaming/example.html
    Does this work for anyone running Safari 5.1 in Lion?

    please check to verify if you have the remains of plug-in attched to DivX and make sure you have installed quicktime plug-in by going to Safari -- Help -- Installed Plug-ins. If you ever uninstalled Divx without using Divxuninstaller, you'll meet this problem.
    Now download Divxinstaller.dmg and run it. Then you'll see the uninstaller in the corresponding application folder.
    Click uninstaller to fully uninstall Divx. Relaunch safari and enjoy!

  • How to hide hidden files using java FileSystemView

    My application has a browser. I use the following method from FileSystemView
    public File[] getFiles(File dir,
    boolean useFileHiding)
    with false as the second argument so that the browser doesn't display hidden files.
    It doesn't work completely.
    I found out there are two types of hidden files in Mac. the ones that being with "." (unix based) and the ones that have an invisibility attribute for the meta of the file (folders like /usr, /bin, /tmp, /etc).
    The getFiles filter works only for hidden files that start with "." but it still shows the second type of hidden files.
    For the second type of hidden files in Mac, how can I get the invisibility file attribute information in Java so that I can hide them from the file browser?
    thanks,

    The GetFileInfo tool that ships with the XCode Tools can display the file's information. Additionally, the SetFile tool allows setting those flags. How you use java to implement those, I suggest you ask at the Unix forum under OS X Technologies.

  • How to play flash files in java swings

    Hi All ,
    I have a requirement in java swings , i want to play advertisements ( flash files in swings )
    can any one provide any example for the above requirement .
    Thank you all for sharing knowledge in this great forum .

    I have a java desktop application which is actually a
    kiosk application. I have to run some promotion
    videos in my application when no user is using the
    kiosk.Will the kiosks all be running the same OS?
    The reason I ask is that JMF is available in both
    standard and performance pack versions. The PP
    provides a wider variety of formats, but runs only
    on Win. and *nix.
    videos can be any avi or neother which can easily be
    played in java applications.That is handy. The JMF standard pack provides
    support for a number of flavors of AVI, but not all.
    What is the best way for me to play video files in a
    java application??I would suggest checking if the 'standard' version
    of the JMF can play* the current AVI's. If it can, use
    the standard JMF for the project, if not, look to
    converting the AVI's to something the JMF can
    deal with, this might involve storing the video or
    audio of the AVI's in a different format - you
    might have to experiment to get the right
    combination, but the JMF 'supported formats'
    is a good guide.
    http://java.sun.com/products/java-media/jmf/2.1.1/formats.html
    * To check if JMF can play them, install it and
    try loading the AVI's in JMStudio - the default
    player.

  • JMStudio locks up playing sound file - using java 1.5.0_02 - HELP!

    I'm using the jmf 2.1.1e cross platform version on Windows XP SP2. I have java 1.5.0_02 installed.
    When I open the sound file using JMStudio it locks up. It plays videos that don't have sound fine, so it's not the video. It's the sound that is killing it.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Hi,
    yeah it's possible to play sound on Windows but you have to use the Windows Performance Pack instead of the crossplatform-version of JMF.
    This has to do with the JavaSound Architecture of Java 5.0. They made changes and now the JavaSound Renderer didn't work under Windows but the DircetSound Renderer works fine.
    So be sure that your application uses the DirectSound Renderer!
    This is one of the main problems of JMF but now Sun gets interested in JMF and they would build a new version of JMF. If this is true they have to fix this problem!
    Best regards, thomas
