    You need to change the default close operation of JDialog or JFrame:

  • Problem with command buttons in jsf

    how to position or allign command buttons inside a page?
    for example if i include reset command button inside my page using,
    <h:commandButton value="#{form.buttonText}" type="reset"/>
    they are placed towards a corner only, how to bring them to the center of a page in jsp? or how to set the location of it?

    Use CSS for layouting and positioning. All JSF HTML components provides at least two attributes where you can set the CSS: the 'style' attribute accepts raw CSS and the 'styleClass' attribute accepts predefinied CSS classes from a stylesheet file (recommended).

  • 10.1.3 ADF -- How to prevent "submit" button submits data?

    Hi,
    In an Edit JSP page, there are several inputText fields that the users can modify data. And a "submit" button they can click when they are done with modification. I also add a validator for a inputText field to check whether the input is valid.
    When the users click "submit", I can see the error msg on top of the page if the data is invalid. Because I change the navigation string to "null" if the input is invalid, the page does not get forwarded. But here comes the problem, if I cancel this page and navigate to the next, I see the invalid data I just input.
    In another word, even with the validator and error msg, the data still gets submitted to the database.
    I haven't registered the validator in the face-config.xml. Will that help solve the problem? Any other idea? Any help is appreciated.
    Annie

    Hi Annie,
    If the input is invalid the current page is redisplayed by default.
    if you want to cancel this page and want to go to another page without
    displaying error messages, specify immediate="true" attribute
    with cancel button.

  • [Flex 4.5.1] How to prevent Radio Button from being selected when clicked on? No Changing Event?

    I have a very common use case where you have a few radio buttons and only one can be selected at a time. Some of them are basic and on click should be selected right away, but other are more complex and open a pop up which requires some additional user selections after which the user selected OK or CANCEL for example and only after that the selection of the radio button should be applied programatically.
    So to solve this issue I've come up with 2 workarounds:
    1) make the entire group, that holds the radio button, act as a button with buttonMode="true" mouseChildren="false" and programatically change the radio button within it.
    2) hold the current radio button selection in a variable and in the changeHandler of that radio button return the selection back to what was selected before. But this also causes a small flickering of the radio button which gets selected and deselected immediately after that.. not cool.
    So my question is... is there something I am missing that could do the job without these workarounds... like a Changing event which I use for the ButtonBar but I can't find on the RadioButton or RadioButtonGroup... thanks!

    Hi,thanks for the reply. Actually that was my third option, but not sure if it's very good also..
    Here is a simple scenario:
    User must select between 2 radio buttons:
    1) no volume -> sets variable volume=0 and selects the radio button (that is the normal use case)
    2) set volume -> opens up a pop up with a list that has a X button to close and 4 options: 25% volume, 50% volume, 75%, 100%
    At this point the set volume radio button should not be selected and the user has 2 choices:
    -> hit the X button to close - nothing changes and no volume radio button is still selected and volume is still = 0
    -> hit one of the volume % buttons -> the set volume radio button gets selected and the variable volume=25/50/75/100 depending on the button selected by the user.
    That's a pretty common scenario and it's bugging me that I can't easily alter the radio button selection logic since whenever I click it, it gets selected and I can't put a logic in between in a standard way. This should apply to any component with selection, just like ButtonBar has it with the Changing event.
    So is there any other more convenient way to accomplish this scenario that you could recommend?
    Thanks!

  • How to prevent Apply button from automatic execution

    I'm using OBIEE 11.1.1.5.
    When user enter my dashboard he can see section with many prompts and some chart based reports below.
    Usually, when entering the page the reports are executed with default prompts values and it may take a while.
    Only after most of reports are being generated, user is able to open the listboxes in the prompts and select his desires.
    The listbox is not filled quick since the DB is busy on the reports execution.
    My question is:
    Can I prevent the reports to be executed automatically when entering the dashboard?
    I would like user to click on Apply in order to get results.

    Hi,
    Tune up your RPD,
    Make sure that joins are implemented correctly,
    use cache management to increase the performance to load.
    login to em and in overview you will get the cache management their also u can increase the performance
    even in RPD also u can tune the cache management to increase the perfrmance.

  • JSF HTML Command Button: Prevent Page Reload

    I know that for ADF Faces Core Command Buttons, you can set partialSubmit to true to prevent the page from reloading. I need to do the same thing for a JSF HTML Command Button, but there is no such property. I really just want to change properties for the button when it is clicked using javascript. I don't want anything to submit at all. Is there something I could put for the action property to prevent this?
    thanks,

    Have you tried returning false from your Javascript? If it's a function, you need to make sure you return the function's result, as well.

    Oh, BTW--while I (and I'm sure many others on this forum) are happy to answer generic Java EE (as opposed to ADF or JDeveloper Tooling for J2EE) questions when we can, you'll probably get a better mix of JEE gurus on a JEE forum.

  • How can I control the enable/disable of command buttons in ADF JSF

    I have been having a great deal of trouble trying to work out how to control the command button such that if the rowset is null then the button is disabled. The trick is that the rowset is not defined by the view where the command button is located. The rowset is defined by a view which has a "view" command button which displays the specific row selected, then this view has a command button that will display the detail rowset of the selected master row, but if there are no detail records I want the button to be disabled. How can I do this in ADF JSF? If I use a backing bean to make the determination prior to the page rendering then how does the backing mean method set the parameter necessary to disable the command button? Any advice or tutorial that I can use is most appreciated. My goal with using ADF JSF effort was to demonstrate that a complex app could be generated with minimum coding, I would like to keep to this concept if possible. Thanks,
    Michael

    Hi Michael,
    You can probably set the Enabled property of the command button using an EL that would evaluate and return true or false based on your requirement.
    Check out these links for more information on using the EL.

  • ADF JSF 10.13 how do you reference a binding from a command button?

    I have developed the following code as a model as I am trying to utilise ADF JSF without using a database.
    I have a collection called School. This has the appropriate operations that populate the school with a number of Child. A Child simply has a firstname and a surname.
    I have generated data controls for these collections and created two JSP pages and added a navigation link as follows:
    index.jsp --> goToSchool (navigation) --> school.jsp
    I have then added a command button to the index.jsp page. When the button is then pressed the school.jsp page is displayed. This works correctly.
    I would like to override the action of the button though so that before the navigation is executed I can get a handle on the school collection and populate it so that it will be displayed on the school.jsp page.
    I have previously done this in 10.12 when I had the following setup:
    index.jsp --> getSchool (dataAction) --> school.jsp
    by overriding the getSchool dataAction.
    I have looked through the 10.13 ADF user guides and tried various different things but have not managed to successfully acheive my goal of populating the school collection when the button is pressed prior to navigating to the school.jsp page.
    I would appreciate it if you could offer any advice, and if possible let me know the recommended best practices to acheive this.
    Thanks in advance for your help
    David

  • How to get the page request parameters in Command Button code

    Hi everyone,
    I am new to JSF and working on some Command Buttons. I put my java code via Edit Event, it works fine. But I don't know how to get some parameters from HttpServletRequest.
    Can anyone give some guidance? It would be much appreciated.
    Mike

    Thanks a lot for your tip. Unfortunately I could not open the link you provided due to some network issue.
    Yes, I intend to get some parameters from URL. I did try to put your code and get the parameters predefined in the URL, however I got the null returned. By the way, I put the following code in the page source part and it works. Just don't know how to get the value being passed to the command button event code.
    <%
    String userID = request.getParameter("u");
    System.out.println("this is from head - the userID is :: " + userID);
    %>
    Thanks again and hope you could give me further advice.

  • Set JSF Command Button Disabled

    Hello,
    I have a JSF command button, I would like to dynamically change button disabled based on certain condition.
    I tried in the actionListener code in my managedbean
    like
    UIComponent component = event.getComponent();
    component.setRendered(false);However it makes button not visible, couldn't find setDisabled.
    How can I do this?
    Regards

    Hi,
    Basically, you can change the button status: enabled/didasled from JavaScript by changing the button css.
    You can also do this from JSF.
    The commandButton element has the disabled attribute and you can change the status depending on your condition.
    -- <h:commanButton disabled=""
    Please find an example: http://www.roseindia.net/jsf/EnableDisableButton.shtml
    If you use AJAX (ex. a4j) there is the same principle. In backing bean you can check your condition and in jsp you'll change to disabled.
    Hope this helps,
    Sergiu

  • How to prevent dupilcate form submission in JSF 1.x

    Hi All
    How to prevent dupilcate form submission in JSF 1.x application. As of now ,when the user clicked the submit button two times , application inserts 2 records in database.
    Please suggest how to prevent dupliacte form submission without using Javascript. Kindlly share examples if any.
    Regards,
    DEV

    Your problem is not really double submission but the fact that your application allows double insertion. The fix is functionally easy but technically very cumbersome: before inserting, check if the data already exists. If you build in such a guard you also protect against other methods of causing a resubmission, such as the browser back button.
    PS: what's the deal with the no javascript limitation? You do realize that when you use JSF you're tanking your application full of javascript, right?
