$dbname =Get-AzureSqlDatabase -ConnectionContext "Server credential"
Write-Output $db.SizeMB
In V11 I am able to print current utilized Size in MB but after V12 I am not able to Print.

1. you may have to disable the triggers as they do really slowdown the performance.
2. it depends on your network bandwidth.
you can learn more in the BOL.

    Hi,
    Thanks for posting here.
    Upgrading Web and Business Databases
Upgrading Web or Business databases to a new service tier/performance level does not take the database offline. The database will continue to work through the upgrade operation. At the time of the actual transition to the new performance level temporary
dropping of the connections to the database can happen for a very small duration (typically measured in seconds). If an application has transient fault handling for connection terminations then it is sufficient to protect against dropped connections at the
    end of the upgrade.
Upgrading a Web or Business database to a new service tier involves the following steps:
Determine service tier based on feature capability
Determine an acceptable performance level based on historical resource usage
Why does existing performance for my Web or Business database map to the higher Premium levels?
Tuning your workload to fit a lower performance level
Upgrade to the new service tier/performance level
Monitor the upgrade to the new service tier/performance level
Monitor the database after the upgrade

  • Been using Macs since classic. Using MBP, OS 10.7.5. Trying to figure out how to print/save folder contents (Name, Date Modified, Size Kind) of entire (non-visible) folder? Any apps that can do this?

Been using Macs since before classic. Using MBP, OS 10.7.5. Trying to figure out how to print/save folder contents including what's not visible on screen (Name, Date Modified, Size Kind) in entire folder?
Screen shots are getting old hat.
Tried select all, copy, paste into pages, but it didn't display date modified, size & kind, and also included images of selected files, which is too large.
Any apps/shortcuts/utilities that can do this?  Thanks in advance.

    Hello Achates:
I did not read the rather long post. If you wish to reinstall OS X 10.4, use your software install DVD. Backup is essential. To minimize your risk, I would use an archive and install:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107120
In that way, you will have a fresh copy of OS X and your current settings will be preserved.
Incidentally, I do not agree that the printer problem is best solved by reinstalling OS X. I have had HP printers for sometime and, on one occasion, had difficulty after an upgrade. HP technical support walked me through uninstalling all traces of the HP driver and then reinstalling.

  • Mangage SQL Azure is not working

    Hi Azure team,
I have installed Google chrome in my laptop, but i cant open sql azure using management portal in azure.
I verified silver light is enabled in chrome.
Kindly let me know what will be the issue and how to open SQL azure from manage portal ?

    Hi Saravanabharathi,
According to your description, you could not open SQL Azure via Windows Azure Platform Management Portal in Google chrome. In theory, because the Windows Azure Platform Management Portal
is built on Silverlight, you can view, monitor and manage the exposed aspects of SQL Database with any browser using the web management tool.
You need to first sign in with the Windows Live ID that you’ve associated to your Windows Azure account. You can post error message or detail for analysis. Or
I recommend you try to open the Management Portal by using Internet Explorer (IE) 10.0 or higher version of IE. By default, Internet Explorer displays automatically pop-ups that appear as a result of you clicking a link or button.
Now, to reach the new management portal, you need go to:
    http://windows.azure.com .
For more information about using  the Database Manager from the Management Portal, you can review the following articles.

  • How to print output of XML Publisher report in different trays of a printer

  • How to restore sql database in Private Azure Cloud subscription?

I want to restore my database bacpac file
    into Private
cloud Azure Subscription but I do not get any option in Azure portal :(
Is there any way to do this?
questions I asked here at stackoverflow
    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/28847844/how-to-restore-sql-database-in-private-azure-cloud-subscription

    Hi itsashuthinks,
Currently for private cloud Azure there is no Import/Export Service to import your BACPAC file into SQL Database.
Because of this you will need to use client tools.
The process to do this is the following.
Open SSMS and connect to your cloud server.
Right click on "Databases" under your server in object explorer and select import data-tier application.
Follow the import wizard instructions to start the import.
Learn more about Data-tier applications and migrations here: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee210546.aspx
    Hope this helps!

  • Azure SQL server v12 upgrade remaining time.

I'm upgrading SQL server to v12 to be able to utilize S3 performance level. Upgrade is running for 28 hours and still not completed. Actually, info in the portal said that it takes up to 24 hours.
Is there any way to determine how much time is needed to complete an upgrade and/or speed up the process? I'm in pretty urgent need of scaling up, but it's locked while server is upgraded.

    Hi Ashley,
Just for clarification, you are upgrading a database (logical server) in Azure from V11 to V12?
How long the upgrade takes is depending on the size of your database(s). The larger the database the longer it will take. If it seems the operation is stuck you should file a support ticked through the portal to have the issue being investigated.
    Thanks,
    Jan
