How to reference a custom JS in a portal

Hello
Using WLP 10.3.2 Eclipse workshop, I copied custom.css from Merged Project Content/framework/skins/bighorn/css to my project to provide custom style for my application and it worked nicely.
Next step is that I want to use JQuery in my portal/portlets so I thought I would just copy skin.xml from Merged project into my project and add a section for java scripts. That approach did not work. Generated HTML does not have any reference to the JQuery script that I added to skin.html.
I tried again by copying skeleton.xml for Bluehorn LAF from Merge project into my project to add a reference to my JQuery svript. That did not work either.
I don't want to create a new LAF. Is there a way to add a custom JS to my portal and portlet so I can call its function from my JSP portlet? I read on this forum that I could also achieve this by overriding head.jsp. Is that the right approach over skin.xml and skeleton.xml? If I have a skin.xml for bighorn in my project, will it override the one in WLP? How does overriding work with skin.xml and skeleton.xml ?
If in fact overriding head.jsp is the approach, how do I do this?
Thanks

skin.xml should have worked. Did you get any errors in the log stating that it couldnt find the file (note that the file must exist within your project)
head.jsp is useful when you dont need the js file changed per skin or when the file does not exist within your project.

        </Properties>I had some difficulties to use the custom property editor. When creating a new related one by using an existing resource the property column value is not changed and the content 'Property' is generated. Because no relationships exists between attribute and the property, the entry is lost in the table referring custom property list for the attribute when your come back into the view object or if you save an another entry in an another attribute.
    So my first question ? Is the attribute editing part the right part to define custom property pairs if they are not related to attributes ? is it a bug ?
    My second question is : is it possible to evaluate the bundle in the expression (replacing the literal 'Pas de description' by an expression) ? What is the expression to use ? Where it is described to do such things in the help or in the documentation ?
    Thank you

    This is wrong
    ((Label == null) ? {FlexParameterModelBundle['flex.tree.noLabel']} : Label)
    What is the correct syntax to refer to the project model standard bundle in the groovy expression ?

  • How to add a custom iview to the portal tool area

    Hello:
    We want to add some simple text like date,day and some
    more things to the portal tool area, where a KM search
    box, and collobaration link exists now.
    I tried to look up for the tool area iview par file, but
    only found, *.ept file only which doesn't contain any
    code.
    I hope atleast some of the clients might have tried this.
    If you will you please shed some light on how to achieve
    this task.
    Thank you very much in advance for the help,
    Prasad Nutalapati

    Hi Prasad,
    try to do this:
    1) download the par file of the standard toolbar. You can find it under:
    \usr\sap\P602\j2ee\j2ee_00\cluster\server\services\servlet_jsp\work\jspTemp\irj\root\WEB-INF\deployment\pcd
    its name is: com.sap.portal.navigation.toolarea.par.bak
    2)import it into eclipse with another name, i.e. com.customer.portal.navigation.toolarea
    3) modify as you need the jsp contained in it in order to satisfy your requirements.
    4) deploy the par into the portal and create a new iview based on it.
    5) put this iview into the framework page you want to use, hiding/deleting standard toolbar
    these steps are OK if you want simply modify the layout of the toolbar, you cannot modify the logic behind it.
    If you need to do that, for example add some buttons which perform some custom actions, you have to develop a new component from scratch using the portal development paradigms.
    I hope this could help you
    Cheers

  • How to reference images from CSS for a portal component

    how can I reference an image stored in the standard "/images" folder in a .PAR file from a CSS file?
    I tried
    .myHTMLelement {
       background-image: url('/images/TAB.bmp ') }
    but it does not work (the image can't be found).
    I don't want to use the API
    request.getWebResourcePath() + "/images/saplogo.gif
    in my JSP because this needs to get into a CSS file.

    Hmmm,
    When project is deployed, the JSP's are usually located in private section:
    <i>\usr\sap\EED\JC00\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\portal\portalapps\projectname\pagelet\someJSP.jsp</i>
    but the CSS is in public section:
    <i>Z:\usr\sap\EED\JC00\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\portalapps\projectname\css\someCSS.css</i>
    Now if you want to include the CSS in JSP I think you HAVE TO use the <i>getWebResourcePath</i> method:
    <link rel="stylesheet" href='<%=componentRequest.getWebResourcePath()+"/css/someCSS.css"%>' type="text/css" />
    or directly define the style:
    <style type="text/css">
    <!--
    .dtn-node {
          background-image: url(<%=componentRequest.getWebResourcePath()+"/mimes/normal.css"%>/images/arrow15x10.gif);
          background-repeat: no-repeat;
          padding-left: 11px;
          padding-bottom: 7px;
          text-align: left;
    -->
    </style>
    Just check your deployment and fit it to your needs...
    Hope this helps,
    Romano
    PS: for example look at this:
    <i>\usr\sap\EED\JC00\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\portal\portalapps\com.sap.pct.pdk.htmlbcontrols\pagelet\all_examples.jsp</i>

  • How to create a custom query button in Portal?

    Hello,
    I have a requirement.
    In the portal form developed on a table, I have a EmpCD field which is a LOV. when I select a empcd from the LOV, I want to display that empcd details like EmpName, EmpDept, etc. Is is possible to auto-refresh the page with this condition?
    Or, if this can be done with a custom button on the form, that is, if a user select the empcd from the LOV and then press this custom button, then on this, it gets the desired values from the underlying tables and displays them as labels on the portal form page.
    Any help would be desirable. I am trying this for the past so many days but without any luck. I tried searching the Forums as well as Metalink but could not get anything.
    Thanks.
    Saabir.

    Hi John,
    You can add a new button from the "Formatting and Validation " section by clicking on the FORM+ at the top of all the table fields.You can not do your own where clause as the query is made which includes all the columns of the form as shown on the form .
    for your own queries what you van do is that you can leave the field blank if you do not want that field to be added in the where clause.If you want to add the field to the where clause you can use operators (against each field in there text boxes) to make your own where clause.More operators support are supported in the
    latest version.
    Hope this give you some Information regarding your doubt.

  • Custom icon strip - how to reference it in the HHC?

    I could not get the custom icon strip to work for me. I think that I understood the overall concept but I do not know how to reference the bmp file in the HHC.Ricks Tips and Tricks file only states "make the reference inside the HHC file". Where exactly do I place the <param name="..." value="C:..BMP"> reference?
    Perhaps there is an example?

    Rick,
    thanks for your efforts despite my ignorance! My HHC file does not look like that, it has a different structure without an HTML list. After some fiddeling I got it to work now, even though I still did not find out why my TOC structure does not match yours (the binary TOC option is not active).
    Instead of using the <param name="ImageList" value="C:tocimages.bmp"> line, I inserted the reference into the properties tag. My HHC looks like this now and it works:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <toc version="1.0">
    <properties imagelist="C:tocimages.bmp">
    </properties>
    <item name=".." link="...html">
    (here the TOC items follow)
    </item>
    </toc>

  • OWSM: How to reference Custom Step properties/parameters?

    Hi,
    When you define a Custom Step via a XML file. You can define properties/parameters. In the sample files that comes with OWSM (CustomAuthenticationStep.xml) Username and Password are defined. My problem is that I cannot figure out how to reference these in the Java Step source. In the sample file CustomAuthenticationStep.java there are no references. There are two class variables called expectedUsername and expectedUserPassword, but they are never set in the source? There are nothing in the Extensibility Guide about this. Anybody know how it works?
    Regards Peter

    I've made a couple of these now. It somehow walks through the xml file you upload and then the properties defined are matched with the appropriate get/set methods in the actual java code.
    One example I had to make was to add HTTP Basic Auth headers to a request. Here is the section of the xml file.
    <csw:PropertyDefinitionSet name="HTTP Basic Auth Params">
    <csw:PropertyDefinition name="httpBasicAuthUsername" type="string" isRequired="true">
    <csw:DisplayName>Username</csw:DisplayName>
    <csw:Description>Http Basic Auth Username</csw:Description>
    <csw:DefaultValue>
    <csw:Absolute>USERNAME</csw:Absolute>
    </csw:DefaultValue>
    </csw:PropertyDefinition>
    <csw:PropertyDefinition name="httpBasicAuthPassword" type="string" isRequired="true" displayType="password">
    <csw:DisplayName>Http Basic Auth Password</csw:DisplayName>
    <csw:Description>Password to access Private Key</csw:Description>
    <csw:DefaultValue>
    <csw:Absolute>PASSWORD</csw:Absolute>
    </csw:DefaultValue>
    </csw:PropertyDefinition>
    </csw:PropertyDefinitionSet>
    You then have these get/set methods at the bottom of the class I created.
    public String gethttpBasicAuthUsername() {
    return this._httpBasicAuthUsername;
    public void sethttpBasicAuthUsername(String username) {
    this._httpBasicAuthUsername = username;
    public String gethttpBasicAuthPassword() {
    return this._httpBasicAuthPassword;
    public void sethttpBasicAuthPassword(String password) {
    this._httpBasicAuthPassword = password;
    Then I had this and the properties were available for use.
    public class BasicAuthStep extends AbstractStep {
    private String _httpBasicAuthUsername = null;
    private String _httpBasicAuthPassword = null;

    22) Save your entries.
    23) Now the Infotype is created and ready to use.
    24) If you want to change the layout of the Infotype as per your requirement...
    25) In the PM01 initial screen...Select 'Screen' radio button and give 2000 as the screen name, then click on edit.
    26) In the next screen.. Select 'Layout Editor' and click 'Change'.
    27) Screen default layout appears...here you can design/modify the screen..change the attributes of the fields..etc.
    28) Save and activate. (Don't forget to 'Activate at every level)
    Subtype Creation :
    Transaction PM01 Goto Subtype Characteristics. Click on Append and then subtype. Enter the name and description of subtype on screen.
    Then goto technical Characteristics and maintain the details of subtype there. I.e name of subtype i.e. component name defined in PSnnnn. Subtype table is T591A.
    Subty.text tab is T591S and time const tab is T591A.

  • How to force a Custom Layout in the links sent by e-mail ?

    Hi everyone,
    For customizing the final user´s view for Discussion Groups,
    I created a custom Layout Set "myDiscussionGroupsContributor"
    that references a custom Collection List Renderer
    "myDiscussionGroupWithoutTopicsContributorCollectionListRenderer"
    that references a custom Command "my_join_discussion_thread_contributor"
    that has a custom Layout Set assigned "mySingleDiscExplorerContributor".
    When accessing the discussions via the final users it works fine
    (I´ve already corrected the "Back" link problem acording thread
    problem with discussion group contributor iview)
    The problem is that when I send a discussion via e-mail
    to another user using the "send to" command,
    the received link opens the discussion using the default
    "DiscussionGroupsContributor", in fact, the e-mail´s HTML code
    contains the property "rndLayoutSet=SingleDiscExplorerContributor"
    as noted in the following href element:
    href="http://myportal:50000/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/
    com.sap.km.cm.navigation/discussiongroups/
    80b935d9-90a8-2810-17a6-c88c15fd350b/
    324e1175-98a8-2810-16a2-ee1c1f9c54bc.dsc?
    StartUri=/discussiongroups/80b935d9-90a8-2810-17a6-c88c15fd350b/
    324e1175-98a8-2810-16a2-ee1c1f9c54bc.dsc&
    rndLayoutSet=SingleDiscExplorerContributor&scHeight=300&
    scWidth=220&scPostListWidth=500" target=_blank
    The same happens with the link in the subscriptions list.
    Does anybody know how to set the layout in these links ?

    Hi all,
    I solved the problem, so here I post the steps for the solution I found.
    1) Modify the Object Type Definitions:
    In the CM Repository there is a folder root > etc > oth.
    There you have to change the LayoutSet settings in the following files
    (I don´t know if it is necessary to modify all of them):
         - discussion_post.oth
         - discussion_topic.oth
         - discussion.oth
         - discussiongroups_items.oth
         - discussionPostType.oth
         - discussionType.oth
         - dscGroupsCollType.oth
         - dscGroupsItemsType.oth
    2) Then you have to reload de OTH settings:
    In the Content Management configuration (System Administration >
    System Configuration > Content Management)
    go to User Interface > Debugging Settings and edit the configuration.
    Add your user id to "UI Superusers" then enable
    "Enable Rendering Information" and save.
    Then go to a KM and clic on "Rendering Information"
    (If the link doesn´t appear, refresh your window).
    A new window opens, clic in "OTH-Overview"
    and then in the new window click on "Reload".
    Finally close all popup windows and go to the
    Debugging Settings again to disable the checkbox
    "Enable Rendering Information"

  • How to set a custom column in a workflow task.

    Hello,
    I'm looking for some assistance a bit with how to set a custom column in a Workflow Task.
    I have a List Workflow that starts when an item is created in a list. The workflow, platform type SharePoint 2013, starts a new task, Task1, with Content Type 1. This Content Type has a custom column called Age. Once the Task1 is completed a new task, Task2,
    with Content Type 2, starts and has the same column Age, as Task1.
    How can I populate the Age column in Task2 with the content of the Age column in Task1?
    Since I start the task by running "Assign a task to ..." Action I was thinking to copy the Age column from the Task1 to the list item that started Task1, which has a column Age as well, and then in Task2 to start another workflow - which is associated
    with the Content Type 2,  that would try to read the Age column from the list item that started Task2, which was set once Task1 was competed - I know it's complex but this is how I was thinking.
    The problem with this approach is that I can't get a reference to the list item that started Task2 to read the Age from the list item.
    Is there a better approach? I use SharePoint Designer 2013 to design all this.
    Any assistance is appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Hello Sebastian,
    you can get the Age column from Task 1 and then update the Task 2 Age column with that value. I am not sure why you want to run another workflow on Task 2.
    You can perform below steps to set Age column from Task 1 to Task 2.
    1.  Create Task 1 using Assign a task , wait till the task is completed.
    2. Get the Age column value based on Task 1 once the task is completed.
    3.Create Task 2 using Assign a task ,  uncheck wait till the task is completed option.
    4. Update the Task 2 with Age column in Task1.
    5. Use Wait for the field to equal value , check for Task Status is completed or not.
    >>The problem with this approach is that I can't get a reference to the list item that started Task2 to read the Age from the list item.
    you can get the related item from task list item to get the main list item.
    Other option is, Use Javascript and CSOM  in task edit form to get the Age column from Task1 and prepoluate the Age value when Task2 is opened.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to use ApplicationModule custom methods in JSP?

    I have an ApplicationModule for which I have defined several custom methods (in the ApplicationModuleImpl class). I wish to invoke these methods from a JSP. I'm having trouble getting a scriptable reference to the application module object in the JSP. I can get data from the view objects using the jbo:xxx data tags, but I can't get any sort of reference to the application module object that would allow me to invoke the methods. I have tried editing the application module to expose the methods as client methods, but still can't get a reference to them.
    My main questions:
    1. Is there a way to invoke the custom methods somewhere between the jbo:ApplicationModule tag and the jbo:ReleasePageResources tag?
    2. Is there a way to declare and use the application module without using the jbo:ApplicationModule tag? Would I ever benefit from doing this?

    Alan, here's how to call a custom method String getSomeInfo() that I've created on my application module, MyModule in this example. Also, in this example the id parameter in the ApplicationModule tag is "am" (<jbo:ApplicationModule id="am"...):
    First, edit your application module. In the app module editor, go to the Client Methods tab and move getSomeInfo into the selected list.
    Next, edit your JSP to call your custom method.
    <% MyModule myAm = (MyModule)am.useApplicationModule(); String someInfo = myAm.getSomeInfo(); %>
    You also have to add the correct import statements to the page tag in your JSP:
    <%@ page contentType="text/html;charset=windows-1252" import="oracle.jbo.*, MyModule.common.*"%>
    Hope this helps

    TestStand to LabVIEW: i didnt understand what you r trying to achieve. But if you are using references, Use Property nodes and Invoke nodes to achieve what you want in LabVIEW.
     LabVIEW to TestStand: check the image below: You need to click the button next to 'container'. I have used a cluster output in the VI.
    Hope this helps

    How to create this Custom Table on Custom Schema
    thanks in advance

    hi prashant
    sorry for replying late, i have checked your query and it gives me no rows, but if i check for user_cons_columns it gives me no rows either in APPS Schema, but in AP schema it gives me
    SQL> SELECT * FROM user_cons_columns WHERE table_name = 'AP_INVOICES_ALL';
    OWNER CONSTRAINT_NAME TABLE_NAME
    COLUMN_NAME
    POSITION
    AP SYS_C008177 AP_INVOICES_ALL
    INVOICE_ID
    SQL> SELECT constraint_name, constraint_type FROM user_constraints WHERE table_name = 'AP_INVOICES_A
    LL';
    CONSTRAINT_NAME C
    SYS_C008177 C
    SYS_C008178 C
    SYS_C008179 C
    SYS_C008180 C
    SYS_C008181 C
    SYS_C008182 C
    SYS_C008183 C
    SYS_C008184 C
    SYS_C008185 C
    SYS_C008187 C
    SYS_C008189 C
    SYS_C008191 C
    and since this is a combination of Unique and Not Null Constraints , i am getting the same issue. do u have any solution to make the Detail table records to delete without using Alerts/DB Triggers?
    thanks for your time .

  • How do I find customer exits quickly using SE80,SE81 or other transactions?

    Hello all,
    Is there a way of using SE80 or SE81 or any other transaction for that matter, to quickly find customer or user exists being used within a given program rather than doing a global search for CALL CUSTOMER within the program? Example, transaction EG31 (Installation Full) which runs the program SAPLE30D.
    In SE80 there seem to be no reference to user or customer exits. As for SE81 I was unable to relate SAPLE30D with an application component, or at least I don't know how to do it.
    In the Repository Info System (SE81 also) there is a reference to customer exits, but, you MUST know which project is tied to your program, otherwise you'll be chasing your tail!
    I guess you can say the easiest way would be to do a global search in the program using the CALL CUSTOMER key words.
    Well, I tried that too. The first set of results pointed to INCLUDES which turned out to be empty exits! That is, no code. So, by pure chance and unknowingly, I stumbled upon a customer exit which was the source of my errors. How I did it, I cannot remember. But the problem is that this exit was hidden in a program which was called by SAPLE30D at a later stage.
    So, all this searching took a long time and more importantly, it was a lucky find. Not a methodic approach.
    So the question is: How do I find customer exits quickly using SE80, SE81 or any other transaction for that matter?
    Your help is greatly appreciated.

  • How to Create the Custom print Quote Report ?

    Hi All,
    I want to create the custom Print Quote report . I know the below details and referred the below metalinks .
    Note: 780722.1 - How to Create a Custom Print Quote Template in Oracle Quoting ?
    https://metalink2.oracle.com/metalink/plsql/ml2_documents.showDocument?p_database_id=NOT&p_id=780722.1
    Note: 392728.1 - How to Modify the data source for the XML version of the Print Quote report
    https://metalink2.oracle.com/metalink/plsql/ml2_documents.showDocument?p_database_id=NOT&p_id=392728.1
    Note: 468982.1 - How To Customize The Asoprint.Xsl
    https://metalink2.oracle.com/metalink/plsql/ml2_documents.showDocument?p_database_id=NOT&p_id=468982.1.
    Oracle Metalink:
    Note: To add a column to the print quote report, following files need to be updated:
    LinesVO.xml --- xml files containing the sql query and attribute definition
    LinesVORowImpl.class - public class extending the framework class OAViewRowImpl.
    This class contains the set and get for the attributes defined in xml file.
    ASOPRINT.xsl - this is the xsl stylesheet file used to describe the report layout.
    This file needs to be modified to include the new column being added to the report
    QUESTION :
    My question is,
    1. wether my approach (below iare the details)of trying to extend the PromptVO is the right way or is there any other way to add the new columns.
    I want to add new fields on to the report . When i looked into the it says the below
    Here we find that to add a new column, oracle says to update the LINESVO.xml, do they really mean to update the base files.
    This report uses following VO's
    PROMPTVO
    HEADERVO,
    LINESVO.
    To create new Headers & Prompts, i tried extending the PROMPTVO. Once the extended VO is substitued , i dont even get the data for standard oracle Prompts. is this the right way to add columns?
    Thanks
