How To Refresh Report Based On Previous Window

In Portal Release 2, a form is called from a report, as next page - not the pop-up. After updating and/or deleting a record, the form closes and goes back to the report page. How to make that report to appear with updated information.
Can I capture/retrieve the full URL of the report - including parameters?

Thanks for the replies.
1.I can call same report with parameters that are in current form, but report will be different because I ran that report using other parameters which I'm not using to open the form.
Problems:
- that new report will be limited to parameters I have in form;
- it will start with its first page - not the page user was on, before updating a record.
That's why I need to retrieve full and exact url of the page the user was on before going to form.
2. I can use parent.window.reload if the form is invoked as a pop-up. Is there a way to call form as a pop-up window using wwv_user_utilities.get_url in report ?

    Hi Jacek,
    You can only refresh reports that are hosted on Business Objects servers (such as Crystal Reports Server 2008).

  • How to make reports based on Data block work on web?

    I am using form 6i and oracle 9ias
    I have successfully call the common reports from the form on the web using run_report_object, then web.show_documnet(..);
    But when it come to the reports based on the data block from the form, it doesn't work. it always fetch all the records from the table which the data block is based
    Anyone can tell me how to make that work?
    thanks

    I have successfully do this when I am running forms and >reports in localhostTell me how did you achieve this?
    Did you have both Reports and Forms running under same oracle home?
    and off course was it a clinet server architecture?
    What version for Form and Reports did you use?
    Which executables did you use and what was your call from forms? When you call from Forms, which Reports executable use to run the report?
    The data integration can only be achive if both the product were running under same Oracle home and were in client server architecture. I do not think data integration is possible in web architecture.
    Thanks

  • How to refresh Report viewer web part programatically using C# in SharePoint?

    I have used Report viewer web part in SharePoint page, I want to refresh it programmatically. How can I achieve this? I have tried approach mentioned on
    http://nicholasfaiello.wordpress.com/2012/12/28/report-viewer-web-part-programmatically-refresh-a-report/ site, but it is not working.

    Hi,
    How about using JavaScript to perform page reloaded or just trigger the click event of the refresh button with the Report View Web Part? It could be seen as a kind of workaround
    for auto refreshing.

    Dear sampathdevunuri kumar,
    You may develop the addon based on SDK DIServer for required function.
    The DI Server is an extension of the DI API and supports all its objects. It is intended for high-volume data integration, where numerous client connections must be managed simultaneously and optimized for speed. It is also suitable where Web-services architecture is preferred.
    Please refer to SDK help and SDK DIServer sample for more information.

  • How to refresh report data from bex query (BW) with parameters

    Hello,
    i hope someone can help me with my problem. I developed an desktop application, which loads (actual state) a report from the local file system. After setting the parameters, the report should be saved as a pdf file. Loading the report into the ReportDocument object and exporting the report to a pdf works fine. Setting parameters (without) a data source too. But now i can't refresh the data in the reports given by a parameter (e.g. time).
    I know there are two methods to do this. Push and pull. I want to use the pull method, cause my program should exports different reports and i think it should be easier to handle this with this method.
    On my development environment is installed:
    Crystal Reports SP 4
    MS Visual Studio 2010 (coding with C# .NET)
    .NET Framework 4
    SAP Integration Kit
    Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2010 SP1 - SDK libraries
    Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2010 SP1 - Runtime 32 bit
    SAP GUI 7.20 (Compilation 3)
    The bex query is enabled for external use from ole db for olap. Do i have forget something else?
    Here is a part of my code:
            public ReportDocument doPullMethod(ReportDocument crReportDocument)
                TableLogOnInfo crTableLogOnInfo = crReportDocument.Database.Tables[0].LogOnInfo;
                ConnectionInfo crConnectionInfo = crTableLogOnInfo.ConnectionInfo;
                crConnectionInfo.Password = "*******";
                crReportDocument.SetDatabaseLogon(crConnectionInfo.UserID, crConnectionInfo.Password, crConnectionInfo.ServerName, crConnectionInfo.DatabaseName);
                MessageBox.Show(crConnectionInfo.UserID + " _ " + crConnectionInfo.Password + " _ " + crConnectionInfo.ServerName + " _ " + crConnectionInfo.DatabaseName);
                for (int i = 0; i < crReportDocument.Database.Tables.Count; i++)
                //    crReportDocument.Database.Tables<i>.ApplyLogOnInfo(crTableLogOnInfo);
                    MessageBox.Show("TestConnectivity: " + crReportDocument.Database.Tables<i>.TestConnectivity());
                return crReportDocument;
    Cause i'm using only one bex query, i know that the SetDatabaseLogon()-method should bring me the same result as the ApplyLogOnInfo()-method SAP Crystal Reports .NET API Guide
    Exists an order which i have to follow? First setting parameter and then set the login informations or backwards? Cause i also get the "Failed to load database information" exception, when i set a parameter and TestConnectivity() returns false.
    Do i have to activate the data refresh manually or will be the data refreshed automatically on export?
    I searched in this forum (.NET - SAP Crystal Reports) and found only this thread which according to my problem:
    [Re: Crystal report connects to BW RFC by .NET;
    The question is assumed answered.

    Hi Robin,
    There is a SAP Integration Kit you need to allow CR to connect to SAP data sources. There isn't one for CR for VS 2010 and I don't believe there are the various extra options available in the SDK, no SDK access to the DB driver.
    Possibly, Check the other post, download and run the app Ludek suggested, it will get the connection info for your report using RAS and then plug the output code into your code and see if that works. It should show the crdb_olap dll is the database driver, assuming that is the connection method you used when designing the report.
    Pay attention to the database dll in the output from that app and verify it is on your PC in: C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\Crystal Reports for .NET Framework 4.0\Common\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\win32_x86
    If that doesn't work then.....
    The problem is, CR for VS 2010 ( version 13 ) is the runtime for BOE 4.0  ( version 14 ) which includes the Integration kit drivers on install. There is no standalone install of the database drivers. They are installed with CR 2011, which doesn't have a SDK included, CR for VS 2010 is also the Developer version for CR 2011.
    Because of the "custom" connection requirements there is no SDK or access to the BW datasource extra options....
    Also note that CR 2008 is not supported in VS 2010, it should work though as long as you stick to 2.0 -> 3.5 framework, no 4.0 Framework support in CR 2008 or BOE 4.0
    You may want to try the SAP Integration Kit forum to see if anyone has been able to make this work or contact your account manager to verify if there are any plans to do what you are doing....

  • How to refresh report filter?

    Hello,
    we are using BI XI 3.1 on a BEx 7.01 query.
    In the WebI reports we use report filters (Region and Country) to restrict the displayed data.
    When we filter the region e.g. for Europe, the table shows only data for Europe, but the filter for Country is not restricted to only the countries in Europe. It still shows all existing countries.
    Is there a possibility to make the filter refresh dynamically?
    Thanks and regards
    DeGe

    Thanks for the answer, but I have some doubt if that works for my reports.
    Beside Region and Country I want to add some more dimensions in the report, like product or customer.
    When I select a country I want to see only the customers of that country, when I select a product I only want to the countries for that product in my dropdown box.
    You see that no hierarchical structure can be defined for the data.
    Is that the normal behaviour that the filters are not refreshed automatically? If I try the eFashion universe, then the filters are refreshed.
    Kind regards
    DeGe

  • How can I return to a previous WINDOW using keyboard

    When I was using Explorer, I simply could use ALT+TAB to go from the window I was viewing to the last window I had viewed before that.
    When I use ALT+TAB withe Firefox 3.6, most of the time it goes to another window other than the last one I had viewed.
    What keyboard command can I use to go to the last window I had been viewing?
    I am using Windows XP on a PC.

    The Alt+Tab shortcut is used but the Windows XP OS, and changes focus between open Windows. You may be interested in the enhancement from the MS site where under the Power Toys tab you will find ''Alt+Tab Replacement'' http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/downloads/windows-xp with that installed you get a preview of where you are going to go.
    Whilst you are using Firefox, you may open some additional Windows for Firefox, and Alt + Tab may be used to navigate to them.
    With Firefox you may also use [[tabbed browsing]] and when you update from Firefox 3.6 maybe the [[What are Tab Groups? |tab groups]] (the linked articles also explain the keyboard and mouse shortcuts available)
    There is also a back and forward arrow (top left, below the firefox button), right click. (or click hold if highlighted) that to see the back and forward buffered pages.

  • How to share a parameterized and refreshable report with my colleagues

    I usually send monthly reports to 2 or 3 of my colleagues by email. Now I am thinking to use crystalreports.com to publish and share the reports. Which way is better to share the parameterized reports and also make them refreshable (updated), ODC or salesforce? How to allow the online reports to access our Oracle database when users view them? I am new to crystal reports, any suggestions will be appreciated!

    Hello,
    Currently, the ODC is only supported on Windows / IIS.  We were working on a linux version, but it has been put on hold due to other priorities.  I don't believe we have an estimation for when it may be released.
    You do need the crystal reports db drivers on the same IIS machine.  I am not sure if this means you need a full install of crystal reports or just the sdk or what.  But yes, you do need at least a portion of the crystal reports install on the IIS machine.
    Inside the desktop publisher, you can create a task which represents a scheduled report on your local machine.  When you create the task, you will be prompted to select the report on your local machine and where you want it to go in cr.com along with when you want it to run (now, once, daily, weekly, etc).  When you save the task, it will figure out if any parameter prompts or db logon prompts are needed and actually prompt you for those right there.  The values you enter will be saved into the task and used when the task actually runs.  At run time, the task will refresh the report based on the prompt values you entered and upload the refreshed copy to cr.com as a saved data report.
    If you have registered for a starter account on the website, you can download and try out the desktop publisher and see if it meets your needs.
    Cheers

  • How to create a report based on a DataSet programatically

    I'm working on a CR 2008 Add-in.
    Usage of this add-in is: Let the user choose from a list of predefined datasets, and create a totally empty report with this dataset attached to is. So the user can create a report based on this dataset.
    I have a dataset in memory, and want to create a new report in cr2008.
    The new report is a blank report (with no connection information).
    If I set the ReportDocument.SetDataSource(Dataset dataSet) property, I get the error:
    The report has no tables.
    So I must programmatically define the table definition in my blank report.
    I found the following article: https://boc.sdn.sap.com/node/869, and came up with something like this:
    internal class NewReportWorker : Worker
          public NewReportWorker(string reportFileName)
             : base(reportFileName)
    public override void Process()
             DatabaseController databaseController = ClientDoc.DatabaseController;
             Table table = new Table();
             string tabelName = "Table140";
             table.Name = tabelName;
             table.Alias = tabelName;
             table.QualifiedName = tabelName;
             table.Description = tabelName;
             var fields = new Fields();
             var dbField = new DBField();
             var fieldName = "ID";
             dbField.Description = fieldName;
             dbField.HeadingText = fieldName;
             dbField.Name = fieldName;
             dbField.Type = CrFieldValueTypeEnum.crFieldValueTypeInt64sField;
             fields.Add(dbField);
             dbField = new DBField();
             fieldName = "IDLEGITIMATIEBEWIJS";
             dbField.Description = fieldName;
             dbField.HeadingText = fieldName;
             dbField.Name = fieldName;
             dbField.Type = CrFieldValueTypeEnum.crFieldValueTypeInt64sField;
             fields.Add(dbField);
             // More code for more tables to add.
             table.DataFields = fields;
             //CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.DataDefModel.ConnectionInfo info =
             //   new CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.DataDefModel.ConnectionInfo();
             //info.Attributes.Add("Databse DLL", "xxx.dll");
             //table.ConnectionInfo = info;
             // Here an error occurs.
             databaseController.AddTable(table, null);
             ReportDoc.SetDataSource( [MyFilledDataSet] );
             //object path = @"d:\logfiles\";
             //ClientDoc.SaveAs("test.rpt", ref path, 0);
    The object ClientDoc referes to a ISCDReportClientDocument in a base class:
       internal abstract class Worker
          private ReportDocument _ReportDoc;
          private ISCDReportClientDocument _ClientDoc;
          private string _ReportFileName;
          public Worker(string reportFileName)
             _ReportFileName = reportFileName;
             _ReportDoc = new ReportDocument();
             // Load the report from file path passed by the designer.
             _ReportDoc.Load(reportFileName);
             // Create a RAS Document through In-Proc RAS through the RPTDoc.
             _ClientDoc = _ReportDoc.ReportClientDocument;
          public string ReportFileName
             get
                return _ReportFileName;
          public ReportDocument ReportDoc
             get
                return _ReportDoc;
          public ISCDReportClientDocument ClientDoc
             get
                return _ClientDoc;
    But I get an "Unspecified error" on the line databaseController.AddTable(table, null);
    What am i doing wrong? Or is there another way to create a new report based on a DataSet in C# code?

    Hi,
    Have a look at the snippet code below written for version 9 that you might accommodate to CR 2008, it demonstrates how to create a report based on a DataSet programmatically.

  • How to develop a report based on multiple data bases in BIP

    Hi,
    I have to develop a report based on multiple database(Sources). My queries is having multiple data base tables. How to achieve this in BIP
    Regards,
    Malli

    Hi ,
    After creating the dataset under datamodel save your data sets.
    Click on Datamodel , on the right side window you will have the Main data set option , click on the drop down option and select Concatenated sql option.
    Check the below links you will get a good idea.

  • How to create a report  based on selected item from Select list?

    Hi,
    I have created a tables_LOV based on:
    select table_name d, table_name r from user_tab_cols
    where column_name like '%_type%'
    Then I created a page item ListOfTables,  Display as select list and pointing to tables_LOV.
    I run the page, and i can select the table i want from the drop down list.
    How to create a report  based on the selected item? (ex: select * from selected_table)
    many thanks in advance
    Salah

    Hi Salah,
    Allright, have a look at this page: http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=vincentdeelen:collection_report
    I think that simulates what you're trying to accomplish. I've set up the simplest method I could think of.
    The report is based on an apex collection. If you are not familiar with that, you should study the documentation: APEX_COLLECTION
    To recreate my example you should:
    1) create an (interactive) report on your collection
    SELECT *
       FROM APEX_collections
    WHERE collection_name = 'MY_COLLECTION'
    2) create a page_item select list for the tables you want to display (in my case this is called "P38_TABLES" )
    3) create a dynamic action that triggers on change of your select list page_item. The dynamic action must be a PL/SQL procedure perfoming the following code:
    declare
      l_query varchar2(4000);
    begin
      l_query := 'select * from '||:P38_TABLES;
      if apex_collection.collection_exists
            ( p_collection_name => 'MY_COLLECTION' )
      then
        apex_collection.delete_collection
          ( p_collection_name => 'MY_COLLECTION' );
      end if;
      apex_collection.create_collection_from_query
        ( p_collection_name => 'MY_COLLECTION'
        , p_query           => l_query
    end;
    Make sure you add your page_item to the "Page Items to Submit" section.
    4) Add an extra true action that does a refresh of the report region.
    Here are two pictures describing the da:
