How to reinstall (comppletely fresh) iPhone OS 3.1.2

Hi,
I have some issues with my iPhone and as per the instructions of my carrier, I need to reinstall iPhone OS from scratch. They offered me the service to reinstall OS but I didn't had backup of my phone and hence I want to do it at home now.
I searched a lot on this topic but couldn't find any.
Guys pls help me in reinstalling iPhone OS from scratch.
Regards,
Anand

Also be advised that you will have to sync your data back from the computer after setting up as new. This process does not include you restoring from an iPhone backup in iTunes. A brief overview of syncing your iPhone with your computer can be found here.

  • How to reinstall ios7 on iPhone 4s

I installed the ios7 update on my iphone 4s shortly after it was released. Everything went well except my connection to Comcast, it screwed up my emails and I could not access my Comcast emails unless I downloaded the Comcast Xfinity app.  My husband waited a week then downloaded his ios7 update to his iphone 4s and did not have the same issue.
So my question is: how do I uninstall the io7 update and then reinstall it ?
    Thanks

You can restore your phone, but if you check, I would be willing to bet there is a small, obscure setting that is not the same with your two mail accounts. Comcast has been an issue at times for some people, but I'm not sure what the app would do. I would go in and delete the Comcast account and then recreate it on the phone. Make sure you delete the App you installed first. As you recreate the account, make sure you enter the username and password everywhere it is called for. The iPhone mail app will say that it is optional in a couple of places, but it isn't. Once recreated, it should work fine.

    You cannot.
By Design the iPhone can Only Sync to One iTunes Library at a time.

Assuming you installed Windows in a Boot Camp partition, start up Boot Camp Assistant and select the menu item to remove Windows and return the drive to a single partition. Then run Boot Camp Assistant and select the menu item to install Windows 7.

  • How can I get my iPhone to stop promting me to enter my wife's Apple ID when updating apps? I've checked settings for iTunes

How can I get my iPhone 6 to stop prompting me to enter my wife's Apple ID when updating apps? I have verified in settings that my acct is listed in itunes & App Store, as well as icloud. i can download new apps fine. Have shut down phone and re-powered, have tried plugging into my iMac while signed into my iTunes acct. Can't figure out what to do next?

Is the comp a synced device to your apple ID and approved as an active device for this synchronization?
Just cloud the sync once, activate the comp to your apple I'd in iTunes, ensure all software is up to date, turn on home sharing between the devices and you can reinstall the apps from the apple id purchase history via download.
You basically cleaned out the canonical data apple uses to validate all that, which was backup data. Like iOS devices have the purchased option on the App Store now, syncing the devices via the home sharing and properly activating them will give your comp the purchased cloud and free up 10gs of space on the precious solid states smaller drives.
    Hope that helps...
If you need to know the menu to find this info, let me know. But the info is easily accessible in the help menu.

    - You do have iTunes version 11 on the computer, right. Saying the latest is not sufficient.
    - Have you tried everthing here:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    - You should

  • How to reinstall from time machine onto a new hard drive?

how to reinstall the system from time machine to a new hard drive?

If you are connected to the internet you can do this.
Boot your computer and immediately hold down command, option and R  (three keys together). This gets you connected with internet recovery.
See this article for more directions: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4718.
This process installs an OS on your blank drive. You can then boot from the fresh OS installation and restore from your Time Machine back up.
Note that you cannot boot from a TM back up.

    HI,
If you have any sort of Back up such as a Time Machine one you could "restore" it to the Applications folder if you know which date it last worked.
Other than that it is the Mountain Lion Restore process (Restart the Computer holding CMD and R)

  • How can I take my iPhone & iPad backups from my iMac at home with me while travelling using my Macbookair (128Gb SSD) with an ext. HD?

How can I take my iPhone & iPad backups from my iMac at home with me while travelling using my Macbookair (128Gb SSD) with an ext. HD? I want to continue to back up my devices including those of my wife while travelling without using the cloud and not returing home for several weeks.
    Any ideas or solutions?
    Thanks for your help.

You can use any Mac with a recent copy of iTunes to back up an iPhone or iPad. It doesn't have to be the one you usually synch with, so long as you don't let it try to do a synch.
Just take fresh backups on the MBA. As for how to get the backups onto the external drive, I'll have to leave that to others; I've never tried.

How Restore Deleted or Missing OS X Components
A few of the basic OS X installed applications can be restored from the Optional Installs installer located in the Optional installs folder on your Installer DVD.  However, if what you need is not there then follow the instructions below.
How to Use Pacifist to Restore Deleted or Missing OS X Components
Insert the OS X Installer DVD into the optical drive.  Use a simple utility like TinkerTool to toggle invisibility so you can see invisible items.  Alternatively, open the Terminal application in your Utilities folder and at the prompt enter the following:
    defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles Yes
    Press RETURN.
To turn off the display of invisible files repeat the above command substituting No for Yes.
The install packages are located in the /System/Installation/ folder on the DVD.
Download the shareware utility Pacifist. Use it to extract a fresh copy of the missing item(s) from the file archives on your OS X installation DVD. The file archives are in the /System/Installations/ folder (use Go to Folder option in the Go menu of the Finder.)
Here are Four Basic ways to use Pacifist (courtesy of George Orville.)
      A. Drag a .pkg icon onto the Pacifist window .....proceed to step 7.
      B. Click on “Open Package ....” and navigate to package desired and click “Open” in
           the open/save window.....proceed to step 7.
      C. Insert Mac OS X installer CD and when it mounts, navigate to .... Menu->Go->Go
to Folder. In the path field enter or paste ....
/Volumes/disc name/System/Installation/Packages (where disc name is the name of the CD/DVD that you inserted.)
Click on the  "Go" button ..... • Drag a .pkg to Pacifist..... proceed to step 7.
The package you'll need will have to be discovered by trial and error, but for most applications you should start with the Essentials.pkg and/or Additional Essentials.pkg.
    D. Insert your Mac OS X install disk 1 .... and open Pacifist.
    1. In Pacifist, select "Open Mac OS X Install Packages" ... dialog may appear asking for disk 2, then disk 3 and finally disk 1 again.... {if DVD is not used)...If “Stop Loading” is selected...the procedure will stop!!!
2a. When loading is complete, a new window appears, click the triangle to display contents of each package...Select item and proceed to step 7.
2b. or click the “Find” icon in the Pacifist window and type the name of the software you need.
    3. In the list that comes back, click the top most entry for the item that you want. ..... that is the one for the English language.
    4. On the top of the Pacifist window, click “verify” .... you will probably be prompted for your password.
    5. Enter checks for.... “verify permissions” and “verify file contents.” and click “verify” ....enter password when prompted.... you will get back output which may look like this:
20 files were scanned. 20 of 20 files were present on the hard disk. 0 of 20 files had file permissions that did not match those specified in the package. 0 of 20 files had checksums that did not match those specified in the package.
    6. Click “close”. Go to step 7.
    Extract or Install........
    7. In the Toolbar (upper left), you now have the option to extract or install. Click a file in the lower list and those two icons will be enabled.
    8. If “Extract to...” is selected.... navigate to the location where the file will be placed, select “choose”, select “extract” in new dialog that appears, authenicate , if prompted, click “OK”.
    9. In the next dialog, click “Extract”.
    10. If “Install” is selected... dialog will appear with the location/path of the installed software. Click “Install”
    11. Type in your password, click “OK”
Pacifist will begin to extract files.
    12. In steps 8/10ß.... you also have the choice to “cancel”
Notes: Pacifist may find that a file it is installing already exists on the hard disk. Pacifist will present you with an alert panel....
      • Stop
      • Leave original alone
      • Update .....
      • Default selection
      • Replace .... (Replace option should only be used on full install packages)

  • How to reinstall Lion, w/o reinstall apps, no Recovery HD

Installed Lion twice using Lion Installer app (not clean install) in 2 HDDs with multi-partitions. No Recovery HD was created as expected from article I read, but both times all data in Documents gone including the Lion Installer app (had Installer app in Documents). Good thing I backed up.  You think my Lion install is now screwed up?
I now like to re-install Lion or maybe even do a clean install, but I rather not have to reinstall apps.  Anyway to reinstall a fresh copy of Lion, but move previously installed apps over?  Perhaps using Time Machine? How would I do that?

New and old version of Final Cut shouldn't be on the same boot partition according to Apple, they strongly recommend against it, besides that my SSD in laptop is small 128GB.  According to a Macworld article for a Recovery HD to built the SSD or entire HDD has to have only 1 partition, if multi-partition then Installer says can't install all features.  Well, I didn't even get that message.  After install I noticed all files in Documents were gone! I also had the Lion Installer in Documents folder because I read if it in App folder then Installer deletes itself.  Good thing I also have Lion Installer saved on a DVD.
If I have to do a clean install of Lion my worry is reinstalling Final Cut Studio 3 (old Final Cut).  I have my audio loops, Motion templates etc on ANOTHER volume/partition/disk since it's around 50GB. When I initially installed Final Cut Studio 3 I told Studio installer where all those loops and templates where located. If I just reinstalled the Studio apps (Final Cut Pro, Motion, Soundtrack Pro etc.) would those apps lose the "links" to the audio loops etc and not know where to find them?
    Thanks for your help!!

How to reinstall the previous vesion from new version?

Previous version of what ? If you mean iOS then downgrading it is not supported.
If you mean a particular app then have got the previous version of it anywhere ? If you have then you can delete the current version of it from your iPhone and computer's iTunes, then add the old version to your computer's iTunes via File > Add To Library and then sync it to your iPhone.
