How to remove extra line breaks in my html code?

On my website: 2neatmagazines.com, I have old html, written years ago. The html all functions fine, no problems in the broswers. When I Iook at the code, there are lots of line breaks in the text portions.
I can do "apply source formatting", and that has cleaned and aligned the html code nicely. But, the text descriptions in the html still breaks at fixes places. This does not affect how it renders, just how the code looks. For example:
                  <p align="left"><span class="blacksregularbold"><span class="blackregular">Life

                    soldiers doing their exercises. Full page LIFE magazine

                    Governors - new and old. Margaret Sanger wins the court

                    for beauty. . Theatre in 1936 and 1937. Japanese Army.
                    Sonja Henie in her movie &quot;One in a million.&quot;
                    Includes photos of Sonja Henie bicycling - looks like
                    today's town cruiser bikes. . Amazing series of photos

                    Neat photo of five new locomotives in a row, Canadian
                    National Railways. <br />
                    <span class="redregular">Very Good</span> - $52
I would like the main text to be wrapped, and neat. I have tried various "text cleaners" like Haven for the mac, but none of the settings will get rid of this annoying line break formatting.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The only "Line Break"
<br /> I see is at the end.
Code formating just cleans the display of the visual code it doesn't effect the browser display.
You can do a "Search and Replace" the <br /> with nothing. to strip all <br /> for the whole site or DIR or page.
In code view right mouse click and choose
"Search and Replace"
Is this what your are asking help on?

  • How can I insert line breaks?

    In Pages for iPad the arrow that I used to use, which contained line breaks in its drop down box, has disappeared.  How can I add line breaks now?  Or where has it gone?

    I know this is a really small indent example but if you look to the right of "realm of" on the bottom of the 'top right' page there is space where the text in that line is no longer justified. By the way, in these circumstances, I have to click on insert page break twice - the first click does nothing.

  • How to remove new line character from query output?

    Hi,
    How to remove new line character from query output?
    have tried select replace(column_name, CHR(10), ' ') from table_name.
    Edited by: GreenHorn on Sep 11, 2008 12:53 AM

    Please consider, that windows uses a sequence of chr13||chr(10) Unix uses only one character chr(10).
    The new line character(s) may be OS-dependent.
    You could consider both with:
    replace(replace(column_name, CHR(13)||CHR(10), ' '),CHR(10),' ')

  • Unwanted Line Breaks in PL/SQL CODE after 'CREATE OR REPLACE' statements

    Does anybody know how to keep SQL Developer from automatically editing PL/SQL code and adding line breaks after 'CREATE OR REPLACE' statements?
    It keeps taking:
    CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE DEVELOPER AUTHID DEFINER
    And turns it into:
    create or replace
    package developer AUTHID DEFINER
    This unwanted linebreak causes our autodeployment processes to break.

    Hi Michael,
    I believe nothing for this issue has progressed since it was asked here:
    2.1 RC Extra Line Breaks
    As there may be approval for some planned improvements to the SQL Formatter feature in 3.2, I logged an enhancement request for you:
    Bug 13744858 - FORUM: UNWANTED LINE BREAK AFTER CREATE OR REPLACE SYNTAX
    Regards,

    Edited by: Gary Graham on Feb 21, 2012 4:19 PM
    But if you have control over your auto-deployment process code, it might be quicker to enhance that to deal with CREATE OR REPLACE on the same or the preceding line. Also, note that if you edit the package DDL to put the CREATE OR REPLACE on the same line with the package name in the code editor, then immediately use Export or Save Package Spec and Body to save it to disk, then PACKAGE <name> will appear on the same line as the CREATE OR REPLACE syntax.

  • How to remove extra spaces from Data Matrix Label?

    Hi All,
    Kindly let me know how we can remove extra spaces from Data Matrix Label.
    Suppose we have this following code in SO10.
    ^FO1380,1879^COY,78^BY4^BXR,6,200^FH^FD[)>_1E06_1DF01001T_1D6JUN&v_huf&&v_hul&_1DV&v_supnum1&_1D16K&v_del&_1D6D&v_flddat1&095_1D2L&v_unload&_1D
    P&v_article&_1D4L&v_madein&_1D_1E_04^FS.
    Variable have there own value. and the desired result will be shown like the attachment.
    But in my code it splits into new line when CMIR value has 3 spaces.
    If CMIR value is 1S0 820 355 A . then it creats a new line.
    Kindly suggest me any possible solution.
    Thanks,
    Partha

    Hi Gaurav,
    In print preview we can't see any space or new line. But when it scanned by TSB (barcode scanner) it will generate a new line when there is 3 space CMIR value.
    So where should I write SHIFT CMIR LEFT DELETING LEADING space this code?
    Because there is no space coming at the time of debugging or print preview.
    And in SO10 the code written as
    ^FO1380,1879^BY4^BXR,6,200^FH^FD[)>
    Here CMIR value is 1SO 820 303 A
    and generated output is like this.
    And desired output should be like this.

  • How to get a line break

    Hi All,
    How do I get a line break within a particular field?
    My DB structure is that I have 4 columns address_line_1, address_line_2 and so on. I cannot select them as different fields because all of them can be null, in which case i pick it from internal_address_line column.
    I use:
    SELECT DECODE(address_line_1, NULL, internal_address_line, address_line_1 || ', ' || Address_Line_2) as ADDRESS
    But instead of th comma separating the 2 address lines I want a line break so that 2 address lines come in 2 separate lines in the output.
    It doesn't allow me to use chr(10) as a line break and gives an error
    I'm using Reports 2.5
    TIA
    Naveen

    Yes, true.
    How about setting up the sections as:
    Section 1 Introduction ('Section num space introduction' in this example - tab may be better)
    Then generate the Contents.
    Then do a GREP find/change on the document after the contents:
    This will add a forced line break and tab after each section number... You might want to specify a para style in the Find Format box too, so that references to Section xx in body text are not altered.
    If you update Contents after this, you will get the line break and tab in the Contents too.

  • How to remove blank lines in the end of list .

    hi,

    so plz help me how to remove the blank lines here and immediately print the endof page.

    Hi,
    will this work for you.
    SET BLANK LINES OFF.
    These statements allow you to specify whether you want to output blank lines or not. Use SET BLANK LINES ON to output blank lines or SET BLANK LINES OFF to suppress them.

  • How to remove characters/lines from the beginning of an InputStream

    Hi,
    I have a program which receives several InputStreams. From each of these streams I have to remove 2 lines from the beginning. After the lines are removed, all the streams are combined to one with SequenceInputStream and read in one chunk. Is there an easy/simple way of doing this?
    One option I thought would be to read the char by char until 2 end of line chars have been detected and then read the rest of the data to a buffer. And the create a ByteArrayInputStream out of this buffer. Problem with this approach is, that the amount of data can be large, so putting all the data in to memory might cause problems.
    Another option is to use BufferredInputStream and use the readline() method twice to get rid of the lines that are not needed. After this I would write the data to some output stream, which is then converted back to input stream. Propably would work, but sound too much of work for a simple thing like this. There has to be better way.
    To make it simple, what I need is a method that looks like the following, or something similar
    *  Removes n number of lines from the beginning of a InputStream.
    *  @param is InputStream where the lines are removed
    *  @param numberOfLines int value to indicate how many lines whould be removed
    *  @return InputStream where lines have been removed.
    public InputStream removeLines(InputStream is, numberOfLines);Thanks.

    Here's the code, feel free to use it. Comments are also welcome.
    public InputStream removeLinesFromTheBeginning(InputStream is, int numberOfLines) throws IOException
              char c = 'c';
              int i = 0;
              for(int n = 0 ; n < numberOfLines ; n++)
                   do
                        c = (char)is.read();
                        System.out.print(c);
                        if(c == (char)-1)     // end of stream reached before any newline characters were found.
                             return null;
                        i++;
                   while(c != '\n');
                   System.out.println();
                   System.out.println("Characters removed:" + i);
                   System.out.println("n: " + n);
                   i = 0;
              return is;

    Hi,
    I think <xsl:text>#xa;</xsl:text> should do the trick, but depending on which OS (ux or win), the "new line" chars sequence is different (win would require a CRLF like <xsl:text>#xd;*#xa;</xsl:text>)

    When importing a swf file into powerpoint with a background colour a thin white line appears on the top of the flash movie when played in powerpoint. Doesn't the Location Bar (URL's) also disappear in the Add-ons Tab? <br />

    either this way we can do this
    1)
    DocumentBuilderFactory factory = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
    <b> factory.setIgnoringElementContentWhitespace(true); </b>
    DocumentBuilder db = factory.newDocumentBuilder();
    or
    2)
    java.io.StringWriter sw = new java.io.StringWriter();
    StreamResult sr = new StreamResult(sw);
    t.transform(new DOMSource(doc), sr);
    String xml1 = sw.toString().trim();
    <b> xml1=xml1.replaceAll("\\s",""); </b>
    System.out.println(xml1.trim());
