How to retrieve newly added text strings from ResourceBundle through EL ?

I have stored the properties in a database and getting i18n property values from Java code and EL-expressions.
New key-value pair are added to the resource bundle and by doing clearcache() and getbundle() the new property values are successfully retrieved from Java code.
However, I have problems to get the new property value from EL without a restart of glassfish.
What are the steps to get the new property values through EL without restart?
I am using JDK 1.6.0-18, JSF 2.0 and GlassFish v3 (build 74.2)

If you are using Java 6 then there is a [ResourceBundle.Control|http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/api/java/util/ResourceBundle.Control.html] class. I don't have any personal experience with it but the documentation does mention caching and control thereof.

Hello,
Texts are stored in tables STXH & STXL (header and item). You can search these tables by selecting Text object = EINA and Text name = Info Rec #. The text ID's you will see are the ID for various texts maintained.

In a real-world application, no.
In a RW application, a typical need is merely to know the "logical role" of the button (i.e., the button that validates the form, regardless of whether its text is "OK" or "Save", "Go",...). Text tends to vary much more than the structure of the UI over time.
In this case you can get the source's name (+getName()+), which will be the name that you've set to the button at UI construction time. Or you can compare the source for equality with either button ( +if evt.getSource()==okButton) {...}+ ).
All in all, I think the best solution is: don't use the same ActionListener for more than one action (+i.e.+ don't add the same ActionListener to all your buttons, which leads to a big if-then-else series in your actionPerformed() ).
Eventually, if you're listening to a single button's actions, whose text change over time (e.g. "pause"/"resume" in a VCR bar), I still think it's a bad idea to rely on the text of the button - instead, this text corresponds to a logical state (resp. playing/paused), it is more maintainable to base your logic on the state - which is more resilient to the evolutions of the UI (e.g. if you happen to use 2 toggle buttons instead of one single play/pause button).

All newScale text is customizable. Follow the procedure below to change the value of any text string that appears in RequestCenter online pages.
Procedure
1. Find out the String ID of the text string you would like to overwrite by turning on the String ID display:
a) Navigate to the RequestCenter.ear/config directory.
b) Open the newscale.properties file and add the following name-value pair at the end of the file:res.format=2
c) Save the file.
d) Repeat steps b and c for the RmiConfig.prop and RequestCenter.prop files.
e) Stop and restart the RequestCenter service.
f) Log in to RequestCenter and browse to the page that has the text you want to overwrite. In front of the text you will now see the String ID.
g) Note down the String ID's you want to change.
2. Navigate to the directory: /RequestCenter.ear/RequestCenter.war/WEB-INF/classes/com/newscale/bfw.

Myself and my girlfriend use the decipher textmessage program. She's on windows and I use the version for my macbook pro. It works cool and lets you save your text messages from your iphone to your computer. Can I just say however that as someone who has posted a first comment here and quite clearly never used a forum like this before, your comment unfortunately comes across as very excluding. It makes me feel there are a set of unwritten rules that I should know, and that I don't know them shows that the forum is not for me. Pulling text strings from a file in Quartz Composer

I want to create a screensaver that randomly displays quotes from a specified file. It doesn't matter how the file is formatted -- txt, xls, etc. -- as long as Quartz can randomly display quotes from the file. I know how to display text strings in Quartz, and I know how to randomize graphic functions, but not how to randomize display of text strings.
Any ideas?

Basically, pass through the file once to get the number of strings (n), than shuffle an array of integers 1 to n using an algorithm like the above. As each number comes up, pull that string out of the file.

I'm trying to change the hierarchy version determined by a userexit variable in the broadcast query.
The Hierarchy Version should be dependent on the input filter delivered by the bursting query.
But how do I catch the dynamic filter value which has been submitted by the bursting query,
with other words: where does the bursting query store it's out put while sequentially starting the broadcast query value by value?
BTW: the filter value from the bursting query appears under "dynamic filter values" in the information of the broadcast query...
Any thoughts are welcome!

Report is used via webi only, not Xcelsius or Dashboard.
Report is consuming BI Web Services.
Although we can pass in prompt values to BI Services, I couldn't find if we could pass a variable or dimension object into this field. Anyone knows?

"How to split threaded text frames to single ones?"
"SplitStory.jsx" or "BreakFrame.jsx" under Scripts/Samples indeed could be the answer.
From the comments in the code of "BreakFrame.jsx":
