  • How to retrieve information from entity beans?

    Hi all!
    I have a problem while trying to get information from entity beans. Here it goes:
    There are two entity beans with 1:N relationship between them.
    A FacadeSB is used to find a single record in one entity bean, using the findbyPrimaryKey method.
    What is required now is to get information from the other entity bean matching the record found from the first entity bean.
    to become more clear, the db schema is like that:
    vehicle_table
    vehicleid (vehicle_pkey)
    name (type of vehicle i.e. car, bike, atv, etc)
    brand_table
    brandid (brand_pkey)
    name (brand name e.g. ferrari)
    vehicleid (foreign key to vehicle_table)
    a FacadeSB gets the vehicle_table info and passes them to a servlet generated dropdown.
    what is the best way to populate a brand dropdown based on the vehicle dropdown selection?
    thanx in advance
    I hope the problem definition is clear enough for you guys...

    thanx for the reply
    i'm ok with the finder methods you suggested. my main concern in whether to create another FacadeSB to access the brand EJB. I don't believe that's the way to go on i.e. creating a session bean for every EJB created. Shall i use the VehicleFacadeSB to access brand EJB as well?
    I can undestand that such an implementation would be a quick fix as well as not such a resources hungry hack but on the other hand, would it make any sense architecturally?
    any suggestions?

  • How to return data from message bean ? ? ?

    Hi ... I have developed one simple application in JMS ...
    I have created one jsp page, one message bean and one remote EJB ...
    Now i m sending message to message bean .... i m also receiving message in message bean and i m calling one simple EJB method on that message called ...
    This all things are working well. But i wanted to return some data from that EJB to my JSP page .
    for example ...
    there is one sayHello() method in EJB which i m calling from message bean as i got message from JSP page .
    if i m printing that string in server log than its working well .
    now i wanted to return that string from that EJB method to JSP page.
    How can i achieve this ? can any one help me please ...
    actually i wanted to return whole XML file but recently as a newbie i m trying to just return hello world string .
    please help me for this problem ....
    thnks ...

    if you want to return a result, then you probably shouldn't be using a message bean. message beans for for asynchronous tasks. session beans for for synchronous tasks. thus it would make much more sense to have your jsp call the session bean directly.

  • How To import collections from Bridge cs6 To Bridge CC

    How To import collection from Bridge cs6 To Bridge CC??
    thx

    How To import collection from Bridge cs6 To Bridge CC??
    A collection is a bunch of aliases to the original files in their original place. If you have upgraded to CC on the same machine you can use the same collection, on a different machine it will possible not find the correct location again.
    On a Mac the path for the saved collections is : User / library/ application Support / Adobe/ BridgeCS6 / collections. Inhere are the saved collections showing the names you gave them. You can copy these collection files to the same location in Bridge CC.
    If you have a different machine you best first choose the collection and add a keyword with the name of the collection to all the files in this particular collection so you can use the find command to easily recreate the collection on your new machine.
    Maybe someone with more knowledge of Windows can show you the correct path but it should be something similar as on a Mac.

  • Strange behavior with entity beans and servlets in a cluster

    We have 2 WebLogic 4.5.1 servers in a cluster with none of the Service

  • How to return data from Ejb as collection to Front End application.

    Hi,
    I am creating a J2ee application. Here i am accessing BAPIs using stateless session bean through JCO connection. Now the BAPI is returning a return Table and return Structure to the EJB.
    I have coded the following code in one of the Ejb Method as follows:
    JCO.Table returnTable = null;
    JCO.Structure returnStructure = null;
    JCO.ParameterList paramList = siteBAPI.getExportParameterList();
    JCO.ParameterList paramList2 = siteBAPI.getTableParameterList();
    returnTable = paramList2.getTable("SITE_SUBSITE_INSTL");
    returnStructure = paramList.getStructure("BAPIRET2");
    Now i want to sent this data( returnTable & returnStructure) to front end application where front end developer accessing this returned data using Jsp.
    My scenario is that , first i want to convert this returnTable & returnStructure in a single collection and then sent this collection to Front end.
    My aim is that , the front end the application should not receive the Data, using JCO.table Variable but as a single Collection.
    I am using NWDI-2004s sps10.
    i need urgent help on this issue and i would really appreciate if somebody can put the answer with some sample code on how to return the data as Collection.

    if you want to return a result, then you probably shouldn't be using a message bean. message beans for for asynchronous tasks. session beans for for synchronous tasks. thus it would make much more sense to have your jsp call the session bean directly.

  • Retrieving auto inc primary key from entity bean (MySQL DB)

    Hello,
    I searched the forum intensively, but did not find an answer for the following problem.
    I've set up an MySQL database "Location" with two fields (ID, Description), ID is my primary key and I've added the AUTO_INCREMENT flag to this field. This works fine, i can add a row in the table with my entity bean "Location" from my session bean :
    Location l = new Location();
    l.setDescription("at home");
    em.persist(l);
    and even when I ask this location back from the DB, there is no problem :
    Location l = em.find(Location.class,1);
    return l.getDescription();
    The rows in the table increment nicely. The problem however is, that you don't allways know the ID. So I would like to do the following from my session bean:
    Location l = new Location();
    l.setDescription("at home");
    em.persist(l);
    int id = l.getId();
    the getID method allways returns a null object. The row is added in the DB, but the auto incremented ID is not returned to the entity bean!
    I know I could solve this by generating the ID's myself, but one of the strengths of autoincrement should be not to have to do this, no?
    If anyone has a clue how to solve this issue, I would very much appreciate it !

    No reactions so far ... this is a work-around for the issue :
    I've created an additional table sequence with two fields: gen_key and gen_value. Then, in my Location entity bean I can add the following:
    @TableGenerator(
    name="locationGen",
    table="sequence",
    pkColumnName="gen_key",
    valueColumnName="gen_value",
    pkColumnValue="location",
    allocationSize=1
    @Id
    @GeneratedValue(strategy=GenerationType.TABLE,generator="locationGen")
    @Column(name = "id", nullable=false)
    private Short id;
    This generates the primary key in the bussiness logic, but I would like to get the autogenerated key from my MySQL database (see previous post). Is this perhaps not supported by EJB3.0?

  • How to show popup from backing bean code immediately?

    Hi,
    I'm using JDeveloper 11.1.2.1.0 and have problems with showing popups. I have a button with an action on my page and a method in backing bean.
    I want to rise up few popups from this method in backing bean (for example just an anouncement that something will happen) or a dialog
    (for example a question if you want to continue).
    I understand how to get a dialog response to deal with it in code, but the problem is that the popup doesn't show up immediately, but only when
    this method called on button finishes. I'd like to handle dialog responses in the middle of the action and then the code to continue with the execution.
    Here is my backing bean code:
    private RichPopup popup;
    public String test() {
    //Some code...
    RichPopup.PopupHints hints = new RichPopup.PopupHints();
    popup.show(hints);
    //Here is the place for code which I want to be executed after popup closes,
    //but is executed before the popup shows...
    return null;
    And here is part of my jssf:
    <af:commandButton text="Test" id="cb1"
    action="#{popupBean.test}"/>
    <af:popup id="popup" binding="#{popupBean.popup}">
    <af:dialog id="dialog" type="yesNo"
    title="Dialog"
    dialogListener="#{popupBean.onDialogAction}"
    binding="#{popupBean.dialog}" clientComponent="true">
    <af:outputText value="Do you want to continue?" id="ot1"/>
    <af:clientListener method="onDialogCancel" type="dialog"/>
    <af:serverListener type="DialogCancelHandlerEvent" method="#{popupBean.onDialogCancel}"/>
    </af:dialog>
    </af:popup>
    Can someone give me some answer how to show the popup from backing bean code immediately?
    Thanks in advance,
    Tina

    If you want to execute code after popup closes, then put this code in PopupCanceledListener or in DialogListener(you can't block method execution).

  • SVS on model attribute bound to webservice from entity bean

    Hi,
    i want to use an SVS on a model attribute. The model comes from a session bean, that talks to an entity bean.
    The problem is, that the model attribute has a type of longObject and i think that's the cause why SVS cant be used.
    The entity bean belongs to an db table where i use a ddic simple type with enumeration. I think the pure j2ee part between the WebDynpro and the ddic is the problem, why  the ddic information cant be transported to the WebDynpro, is it?
    So how do i use SVS for a model attribute that is bound to a webservice, that comes from a session/entity bean?
    Thanks in advance!

    hii Sudheer,
    The web service creation is getting fine for local project, but wat i want to do is to create a webservice for a session bean in EJB DC ....
    So how can i change workspace of DC?? Its stuff goes into DTR rite?
    how do u change the workspace of DC project??

  • Can we Return values from Java Bean to Form

    Hi All,
    I have a Bean area defined on a Form. The Bean Area consists of a Text field which gets populated by path of a file selected using Browse button.
    Can I return this path as a parameter from the Java Bean to the form? Is there any function for this?
    Regards,
    Prathima.

    If you designed your bean to offer the ability to exact info/data from it, then yes you can get a value from the bean into the form (pl/sql) - using Get_Custom_Property
    Refer to the following which is a good example of how to build a bean. Specifically look at page 12 where is shows how to use Get_Custom_Property.
    This is NOT an Oracle supported or provided document or web site, but it is a very good example.

  • How to delete collections from lightroom libraries online

    Hello, I'm fairly new to uploading pics to lightroom mobile and the lightroom.adobe.com libraries.
    I was able to sync from my desktop, I see the collection online, however, I realized I uploaded the wrong images and I'd like to delete that collection.
    But I don't see an option to delete anywhere, just share and slideshow. can someone help me? How can I delete a collection from my lightroom.adobe.com account?
    Thanks

    Nevermind, I figured it out. if you remove all the pics from the Synced Collection (on your desktop) it will remove all the pics from the collection online.

  • How to Open PopUp from Managed Bean?

    Hi,
    Can you please let me know how can we open a pop up from managed bean.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Kiran Konjeti

    Hi,
    I got the answer for this question.
    Write the following code in Managed Bean
    ==========================
    private RichOutputText errorText;
    private RichPopup PopUp;
    Generate accessors(setters & getters) for these 2 variablesAnd place this method in your managed bean.
    > private void showPopup(RichPopup popUp, UIComponent source) {
    > FacesContext context = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    > String popupId = popUp.getClientId(context);
    > String alignId = source.getClientId(context);
    > StringBuilder script = new StringBuilder();
    > script.append("var popup = AdfPage.PAGE.findComponent('").append(popupId).append("'); ").append("if (!popup.isPopupVisible()) { ").append("var hints = {}; ").append("hints
    [AdfRichPopup.HINT_ALIGN_ID] = '").append(alignId).append("'; ").append("hints[AdfRichPopup.HINT_ALIGN] = AdfRichPopup.ALIGN_AFTER_START; ").append("popup.show(hints);}");> ExtendedRenderKitService erks =
    > Service.getService(context.getRenderKit(),
    > ExtendedRenderKitService.class);
    > erks.addScript(context, script.toString());
    > }
    Now, how to call this method from your managed bean ... depends upon situation.
    public void sendEmailstoBorrowers(ActionEvent actionEvent) {
    .....................some logic ...............> if(true){
    > personHistoryStatus = defaultPreventionHelper.writeBorrowerHistory(borrowersList,getFormattedAction());
    > this.errorText.setValue((borrowersList != null ? borrowersList.size() : "")+" E-mails have been sent successfully..!");
    > }else{
    > this.errorText.setValue("Unable to send emails. Please contact System Administrator..!");
    > }
    > showPopup(this.getPopUp(), actionEvent.getComponent());
    }And ... what do we need to do on the UI??
    Write the following code in UI -- Here is the button which calls sendEmail method
    ==================================================
    ><af:commandButton text="SEND" id="cb3"
    >shortDesc="Click 'Send' to send emails."
    >styleClass="defaultButton"
    >blocking="true"
    >disabled="#{pageFlowScope.DefaultPreventMB.disablePrintButton || bindings.DelinquentBorrowersList.estimatedRowCount == 0}"
    >rendered="#{pageFlowScope.DefaultPreventMB.formattedAction eq 'E-mail'}"
    >partialTriggers="t2:dlDelete"
    >actionListener="#{pageFlowScope.DefaultPreventMB.sendEmailstoBorrowers}"/>
    Once this button get clicked ... it calls sendEmailstoBorrowers, and based on the result(either true or false) the method sets the content for the pop up and opens the popup from managed bean.
    And here is the code for which we have to keep inside the jsff and this gets invoked from managed bean.
    ><af:popup id="p1" binding="#{pageFlowScope.DefaultPreventMB.popUp}">
    > <af:dialog id="d1" type="ok" title="E-mail Communication Status">
    ><af:outputText value="E-mails have been sent successfully..!"
    > id="ot11"
    >binding="#{pageFlowScope.DefaultPreventMB.errorText}"/>
    ></af:dialog>
    ></af:popup>
    Let me know if you need more information about it.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Kiran Konjeti

  • How does Distribution/collection from a network folder work?

    I sorry if this has been asked before, but i need a basic understanding of how Distribution/collection from a network folder works. To give you an idea what I need, i'll tell you that Arcobat 9 was purchased by a couple people at work, and they are asking me to figure this out. I'm a web guy and know enough about pdf's to throw one on a web server and put a link to it somewhere. I don't know anything about Acrobat otherwise.
    So, If someone can give me a basic overview of how this works, I would really appreciated it. I'm assuming that Acrobat sets up some kind of email server on the user's computer and has a database in it some where.
    Thanks

    Jan,
    I have attached a simple example that uses "Basic Level Trigger Detection.vi" found in the Analyze->Waveform Monitoring menu. You can change the slope from rising to falling edge to note the change in the result.
    I was unable to find the "Simple Trigger Detection.vi" that is giving you trouble. If you would like you can attach a piece of code that replicates your problem. Please make sure to include all subvi's in the attachment (including the Simple Trigger Detection.vi). I can take a look to see what is going on.
    Thanks.

  • How to return rows from tmp table created inside function??

    Hi,
    I'm trying to return rows from a cursor or table (created within
    the function). How do I specify the return type?

    Hi,
    Here is the code that examples to create a function that can
    return data from table.This is achieved using REFCURSOR concept.
    Hope this helps you.I'm giving all stuff in single PL/SQL
    block.You can break it and create a package and declare
    refcursor type and function in that as well.
    DECLARE
    -- Declare generic cursor type
    TYPE gencur_type IS REF CURSOR ;
    -- Declare generic cursor varaible
    gencur gencur_type;
    -- Declare record type
    TYPE rec_type IS RECORD(descr emp.ename%type) ;
    -- Declare record type variable
    rec rec_type;
    --This how you declare a local function that returns gencrtype
    data set
    --This function is called in main block
    FUNCTION call_refcur return gencur_type
    AS
              rr gencur_type;
    BEGIN
         OPEN rr FOR SELECT descr FROM emp;
         RETURN rr;
    END;-- end of local function
    -- Main block begins here
    BEGIN
    -- Call the local function so that gencur will have
    -- the data set returned by select statement
    gencur:= call_refcur;
    -- Open a loop to test the stuff
    LOOP
         FETCH gencur INTO rec;
         EXIT WHEN gencur%NOTFOUND;

  • Oracle forms 9i - How to return back from a block?

    Some one please help me
    In a trigger, I have a code says go_block. How to return from the block and back to the trigger to continue executing the codes below the go_block statement? Please see example below, I want to come back from block CHECK_STUFF and continue execute the statements
    :Name.option := '1';
    if :name.option = '1' then
    Example:
    Block: Name
    Item: yes_no - Key-next-item trigger
    declare
    begin
    go_block('check_stuff');
    go_item('answer');
    :Name.option := '1';
    if :name.option = '1' then
    Thanks - Patty

    The code behind the GO_BLOCK is executed immediately after the GO_BLOCK, it doesn't stop at that point. So you have to split your code, like
    declare
    begin
    go_block('check_stuff');Then, create a procedure like
    PROCEDURE PR_RETURN_FROM_BLOCK IS
    BEGIN
    go_item('answer');
    :Name.option := '1';
    if :name.option = '1' then
    END;Then, when returning from the block (in whatever trigger you use), just call that procedure.
