How to run an OWB 11gR2 process flow using OEMS Jobs?

How to run an OWB 11gR2 process flow using OEMS 11g Jobs?
In other words iam trying to create an Oracle Enterprise manager job for scheduling and running an OWB Process flow.
Can any one of you please route me to a documentation for the same,or enlist the steps involved?

Hi,
look at OWB API Reference (it is of 11gR1 OWB release but you can apply this procedure to OWB11gR2 as well)

  • How to Schedule OWB Process Flows through OEM

    Hi,
I have successfully created mappings and process flows for my project.
But now I want to schedule the process flows through OEM.
    Following are my DB configurations..
OWB Version : 10g R1 (Oracle SID LVDSGDEV ) on windows
Runtime Owner: ATS_RUN_OWNER (Oracle SID LVDSGDEV )
Runtime User : ATS_RUN_USER (Oracle SID LVDSGDEV )
Work Flow Schema: OWF_MGR (Oracle SID LVDSGDEV)
Source & Target DB : 10g (Oracle SID LVRUNDEV) on windows
Process which I want to Schedule is....
    Process Flow Location: ATS_LOC
    Process Flow Name: PKG_DM
    Process Name: BASE_LOAD
Can someone please suggest me, the procedure to schedule this process flow.....

You may choose just to schedule the mapping directly through OEM. Create an OEM SQLPlus job that calls the script:
    @c:\owb_home\owb\rtp\sqlplus_exec_template.sql;
Check the beginning of the sqlplus_exec_template.sql. It will show examples of the parameters it accepts and it has some documentation. It works nicely.

  • Getting error when running process flows in oem

    Hi all,
I'm trying to run a process flow in oem (using oem_exec_template.sql script), but it keeps failing with error "nms-1013: sqlplus does not exist". I tried running a map too and it failed with same message.
    Any idea anyone?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
Looks like you have an obvious code error, invalid cast operation in your code. Do you get this error when running in local emulator.
You can try the following article on how to debug published cloud service, assuming you have VS ultimate.

  • How to find process chain using background job in sm37

How to find process chain using background job in sm37

Better is to select the job.
Select (Define) Step (s) or F6.
Select the line and Menu Goto>Variant.
The variant contains the name of the CHAIN and its VARIANT.
    Success
We faced an old job and via job monitoring we were informed about a cancelled job every 'interval'.
We noticed that the related chain was deleted but still the job was scheduled each interval again and was cancelled because an event was missing
We could not find the scheduled job via SM37.
Via view V_OP, view over tbtco abd tbtcp, we find the related entry.
We delete these entries via function BP_JOB_DELETE....

  • Problem kicking off process chains using Tivoli Job Scheduling

In our pre-production BW system testing, when the process chains are being kicked off through Tivoli, they are not working.
We dont get issues when the chains are run directly in BW,without using Tivoli.
The jobs with 'after event' RSPROCESS setting that kick off next node on each node's completion, are not leaving out a 'copy' after a scheduled run.
So in the next run from Tivoli, the dependency job isnt there in scheduled status, which fails the chain.
We tried manually copying the dependency jobs on the nodes.Doing this, chain does kick off from Tivoli. But again jobs dont leave copies and next run from
Tivoli fails. We tried using 'periodic job' setting. This leaves copies of job.But then why is BW able to copy out and kick off jobs, while this isnt happening when kicked off through Tivoli.
A node in the process chain is BLUE when it has a scheduled job ready in sm37,but turns GREY(no scheduled job is there in sm37),once the Tivoli kicks off chains after the manual copy.
We suspect this either to be a authorization problem or an issue with how it works when kicked off through Tivoli.Process chain 'context' is somehow not created when it runs through Tivoli.
Anyone seen such an issue before?Suggestions are welcome..
    cheers,
    Vishvesh

    Hi Manfred,
The chain does get kicked off from Tivoli.
But the job fails in Tivoli as..when it tries to hand over execution to the 1st local chain in the 'meta chain' the required job isnt there in scheduled status, with the 'after event' RSPROCESS dependency set on it.
    cheers,

  • OWB 11g  Process Flow - How to see variables and how to create variables

    Dear All,
I have recently migrated from 10g to 11g rel 2.
In 10g when I open a proces flow I can see all the parameters and variables I created on each activities on "Explorer" window. this allows me to craete new parameters and variables as well.
But ones after I migrated to 11g, I cant see explorer window and there is no place to enable it as well.
How Can I create variables, parameters in processes flow on 11g?
    Thanks in advance.
    Alex

    Hi,
In 11g "Explorer" window renamed as "Stucture" and same details as 10g shows in Structure window. This window can enable and dissable (Show and Hide) using Menu => View=> Stuture option.
    Thanks

  • OWB-OWF - Process Flow Deployment - Database Link

    Hello there,
This post is basically related to my problem with Process Flow deployment.
Could someone please shed some light on the following:
When we create a Process Flow, during this process OWF creates a Database Link. For some reason, this link is not functional unless I remove the part after "." in that defines the "HOST" in the DB Link definition. How do I know it is not functional - I know because following query does not work:
    select * from [email protected]@WB_LK_WF_PKG
    Here is the link definition:
    ORIGINAL:
    create database link OWB92TRG.US.ORACLE.COM@WB_LK_WF_PKG
    connect to RR
    identified by "<pwd>"
    using '(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS_LIST=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=CENTENNI-2077E4.CENTENNIALCOLLEGE.CA)(PORT=1521)))(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVICE_NAME=OWB92TRG)))'
MODIFIED (it works - above query runs OK):
    create database link OWB92TRG.US.ORACLE.COM@WB_LK_WF_PKG
    connect to RR
    identified by "<pwd>"
    using '(DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS_LIST=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=CENTENNI-2077E4)(PORT=1521)))(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVICE_NAME=OWB92TRG)))'
My second question is "using what userid/pwd should this link should have been created? Should it use "Runtime Repository Owner" or "OWB Repository Owner" or "Runtime Access User" or "OWF_MGR"?
No matter what userid I use, it works when I run the query but I always get following error when I try to deploy the "Process Flows" in OWB:
RPE-02085: Failed to test wb_rti_workflow_util.initialize through deployed Workflow Database Link OWB92TRG.US.ORACLE.COM@WB_LK_WF_PKG2. Please check that "EXECUTE ANY PROCEDURE" privilege is set and that the OWB Runtime is available.
    - ORA-04052: error occurred when looking up remote object [email protected]@WB_LK_WF_PKG2
ORA-12545: Connect failed because target host or object does not exist
I have already granted the "EXECUTE ANY PROCEDURE" to OWF_MGR. I am not sure, though, what is meant by the "and that the OWB Runtime is available" part of the error message above.
I have also tried to fix this by running the "catrpc.sql" script but it did not help either.
I am stuck on this step for past few days. I would highly appreciate help in fixing this problem. Here is the configuration I am using:
o Source database : Oracle 9i (9.2) on my local PC
o Target database : Oracle 9i (9.2) on my local PC
    o OWB 9i
    o OWF 2.6.2
o OWB and OWF repositories are on the TARGET database
I am able to successfully deploy and run my MAPPINGs.
    TIA,
    Amer

    Hello Oracle support,
Should I open a TAR to get this problem resolved?
    Regards,
    Amer

  • Upg 10gr2 to 11gr2, process flow: RPE-01003: An infrastructure condition...

    Hello.
I am in a bit of a pickle right now after upgrading OWB from 10.2.0.4 to 11.2.0.3, and I'm here requesting a sanity check. Due to the need of a database upgrade, OWB also has to be upgraded and the data warehouse that has been functional and stable for a long time on 10g needs to be migrated to 11g. So this is main deal:
I just want to migrate all mappings and workflows and run them as before. I do not want to redeploy as that will force an enormous effort to regression test everything.
So the OWB upgrade went seemingly well. Everything runs as before. The problem started when I tested deployment of a mapping and subsequently
    1. Deployment of a mapping goes well.
    2. Deployment of the process flow goes well.
    3. Deployment of a mapping that is run in a process flow however causes problems when the process flow is executed.
The deployment goes well. However the mapping fails when I run the process flow with the following error:
RPE-01003: An infrastructure condition prevented the request from completing: no rows found for select into statement.
I subsequently sync the mapping in the process flow redeploy the process flow. Now ALL the other mappings in the process flow that have not been redeployed since the upgrade fails with the same error. However the one that failed before is executed correctly. If I redeploy all the other mappings (which can be dozens) it works, but now I'm faced with a serious regression testing period.
Personally I have a couple of theories that I hope you can debunk or possibly verify.
    1. It might be location oriented. I say that because my locations are a bit... iffy. When I redeploy some mappings in some locations it always insists on redeploying the connector (regardless if I deploy it stand-alone right before), and my location passwords are never "remembered" between sessions.
    2. I do not have specific knowledge about how workflows are generated in the repository, but if it's run by ID, maybe a new ID is generated for the mapping when it is redeployed, and subsequently the process flow gets a new ID when it gets redeployed?
I hope someone has seen this before and can get me on the right track. Thanks very much.

Here is a log that also illustrates the problem.
First workflow which does not have a redeployed workflow goes okay. That is WF_BOOKED_PRODUCT_020:MAP_BOOKED_PRODUCT_020.
The second workflow, WF_BOOKED_PRODUCT_030:MAP_BOOKED_PRODUCT_030, that is the one that has the redeployed mapping fails.

  • How to configure the "FTP" in process flow

    host1: owb for solaris 5.9
host2: erp system with solaris os
i create a workflow process in owb,the purpose is use "ftp" command to get a
file from host2. the "ftp" in workflow process with
    the
    following parameter:
    ===
    1:COMMAND : /usr/bin/ftp
    2:PARAMETER_LIST: ?"${Task.Input}"?

workflow process ,it run all the time!
    why?please help me!
    tks a lot

    Igor,
I followed the examples given in this thread, and checked the case study in the PDF, but am still not able to 'get' a file using FTP to the desired location.
I have an FTP work flow configured with the Path Settings pointing to: REMOTE LOCATION is a w2k server, WORKING LOCATION is on Unix. These locations are registered in the Deployment Mgr properly.
I am able to PUT a file to win2k from Unix, but not GET.
This is caused by the fact that, during FTP WF execution, it is ran as Unix user 'oracle', whom do not have write access to the Root Path registered for the WORKING LOCATION. (I can do a get to /tmp).
Also, I am getting these messages in the execution log, even if the FTP was successful:
WARNING: Log file truncated - see RAB for further information.
ftp: ioctl I_PUSH ttcompat: No such device or address
ftp: ioctl(TIOCGETP): No such device or address
All of these problems indicate that the run time Unix user, 'oracle', doesn't have sufficient rights to various directories. Is it possible to force OWB use the userid that was registered for the WORKING LOCATION?
    Thanks.

  • Load .csv file data with OWb Process flow using Web

    Hi,
I Have a file in my local machine( Machines on multiple user's), need to load data through Web user interface.
Let's say have a web page with multiple radio buttons respective to different sources, by clicking on each button will pass the path of .csv file to through Application, (API or Java programming interface) execute owb Process flow as a accepting file path as a input parameter to execute for loading purpose.
Should facilitate view data, Update data through web based on user requests.
Need your guidence how can i implement this with OWb 11g R2.
Assuming with Web browser functionality. Please confirm it and if yes, please throw some light how could be the steps to implement.
    Thanks

    Hi David,
    Thanks for your reply.
Undersatnd your proposed solution. But my requirement should be as follows.
    1. Currently under consideration using web page likely to be implement with Java, allowing users to load .csv file data into staging area.(Loading flat file into Data abse table)
Case 1, Assuming OWB software is not installed on user machine. I think no.
Is it possible through web page (this case Java page) to trigger java procedure/Pl/SQl procedure or integration of both to laod data into staging area.If yes, how it could effect performance of data load with 1 GB file.
Case 2, OWb client software installed on User machine, while runtime passing parameters means passing manually?
In case it is automated, how should i pass machine name & Path to owb runtime web browser.
Could you please show me guidence how should I acheive this functionality with APEX customization part?
    Thanks agin for your support.
    Anil

  • How to pass execution_audit_id of the process flow to an external process

    Hi,
I'd like to execute this sql
    SELECT EXECUTION_AUDIT_ID
    FROM RUNTIME_OWNER.ALL_RT_AUDIT_EXECUTIONS
within a process flow, and pass the returned value to an external process(within the same process flow) which is a unix script. Is this doable? How can it be accomplished?
    Thanks!

    Hi Patrick,
Yes, I did look at those threads, but they don't help me with what I am trying to accomplish. Here is the design
The map runtime audit id value is used to uniquely name a file created by one map. Within the process flow, which contains the map that creates this file, I need to rename the file using a suffix string provided by the user. So, if file created is med_admin_1234 (1234 is map runtime audit id), and suffix is "fac_a", then new filename is med_admin_fac_a. For this renaming functionality I am using a Unix script (file is created in a Unix server), but I need to pass the map runtime id that's part of the initial name in order to rename the file. Makes sense? Within the process flow, I need to retrieve a value (instead of an input parameter, have like an output parameter instead). Not sure this is doable, but asking just in case.
    Thanks.

  • How to Run Jar in Background process

    Hi,
I am develop one application in java,

whats my problem is, I want to run my jar file
in system background, that is when i was start the system
my jar gets ready to run the application,
Can any one please give some idea to how to run my jar in
background task and how to start the jar when the system
    start.
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi
It has been a while since you asked your question- I hope you still need the solution. Java typically does not support this because it is platform specific. I don't know what operating system you are working on. I assume Windows. There are numerous ways to do this in Windows. The easiest is to copy the program into the startup folder. The directory is: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup. Another way, less visible to the user, is to make an entry in the registry. If you place the location of the program as data in a key in HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current\Version\Run of the registry, it will start with the system. This is hard to do in Java (for obvious reasons) however it is not impossible. You can use JNI which is really difficult to learn and hard to implement or you can use
Process p=Runtime.getRunTime().exec({"reg.exe","add HKLM..."});This will execute the Windows utility reg.exe with the arguments provided by the second in the array of Strings. Documentation on reg.exe can be found through the command prompt. There are other ways such as modifying Autoexec.bat however they are less reliable
    Hope I helped

  • OWB 10gR2 Process Flow returning status = Complete and Result = Null

    Hi,
I have a process flows i ran lot of times with success (it shows status = complete and result = OK). It invokes a lot of mappings and other flows
Sometimes one of invoked mapping or flows shows status = complete and result = Null and main process too.
The main process i invoked by a PLSQL store procedure using wb_rt_api_exec package. When status = Null the store procedure hangs and I have to kill it.
When it happens, owb service restart (new record in WB_RT_SERVICE_JOB_LOGS).
    Can anyone help me?
The configuration that I am working with is as below ---
    OWB client version : 10.2.0.1.31
    OWB repository version : 10.2.0.1.31
    Oracle Workflow Version : 2.6.4.0.0
Database version : 10g Enterprise edition release 10.2.0.3.0

Sometimes transitions in process flows get scrambled and you have to fix them by hand.....this happens and I dont know why.
Basically what happens is: every operator in process flow has three outgoing transitions (in general) marked as 0, 1 and 2, when you take a look at details property of your operator then in the outgoing transitions tab you should have ORDER collumn 0, 1, 2 for warning, error and success.
If this is not the case (0,1,2) process will not know what to return as value, and what is more bizzare this works until it does not :)
I dont know if this is your case but it's worth checking.

  • OWB embeded process flow - parameter binding problem

I've installed and Oracle 10g Database, after the database installation I added the Oracle Workflow server software. To complete the installation I ran the wfca.
Later I get to define a process flow in OWB (cheesy) and the process flow seems to be working well (I've done all the registrations necesary also ), but when I am trying to do the parameter binding is not working. I do get the window prompt for the parameter and I enter the date parameter ( I tried different formats like 'YYYY/MM/DD' 'dd-mon-yyyy'), but after I check the runtime in the web browser the parameter is not pass to next process. I tried many things for the last week but I cannot get it to pass the parameter from one process to another.
    Any ideas,
    HELP !!!!!

did u manage to resolve this issue? we are facing the same problem.

  • How to bind mapping input parameter in process flow using OMB Plus

    Hi
I have created a process flow with a mapping.
This mapping has a input parameter, that I want to bind to a variable using OMBPlus
OMBALTER PROCESS_FLOW '$process' MODIFY PARAMETER 'P_EOD_DATE_IN' SET PROPERTIES (BINDING) VALUES ('V_EOD_DATE') does not work as P_EOD_DATE is NOT a process parameter
    neither does
OMBALTER PROCESS_FLOW '$process' MODIFY PARAMETER '$mapname/P_EOD_DATE_IN' SET PROPERTIES (BINDING) VALUES ('V_EOD_DATE') as the reference '$mapname/P_EOD_DATE_IN' is not valid.
    Any suggestions ?
