    Hi all,
How to save query result in excel file from sql*plus tool.
    thank you

Do you really need an Excel file (binary) or a simple CSV?
If you just need a CSV then search for DUMP_CSV at http://asktom.oracle.com or at this forum
If you need formatting and/or multiple worksheets then you can use free tools like
    https://xml-spreadsheet.samplecode.oracle.com/ or https://exceldocumenttype.samplecode.oracle.com/

  • Query Results to the Application Server

    Hello Experts,
We have a requirement where when we execute a query, the query results in the excel format should be placed in a folder in the application server. From the Application server I need to send these results using the FTP service to the different locations.
Can someone please suggest me how to place the query results in the application server and how to send these results using the FTP service to the different locations.
    Regards,
    Sachin

    Hi Sachin,
    Yes its possible
Using RSCRM_BAPI TCode schedule the report based on your requirement i.e. daily, weekly...etc. And then dump the report result into one path (Directory) in Application Server.
Create FTP/SFTP User ID in Application server level in BW System.

Try doing this in your sql scripts
    set heading off

    set linesize 4000
    set feedback off
    set verify off
    set trimespace on
    set colsep ","
    spool output.txt
select * from dual (or whatever you are querying
    spool off
There may be a couple other set statement that you could add but
this should get you started in the right direction

    Hi David,
Only possiblity is through APD. You can use Query as source and  try to creat new ODS or CUBE , you can assign what ever fields you want to be in ODS/CUBE.
for APD creation u go for sap.help.com
You can schedule this APD, and what ever data updated to query it iwll be udated in ODS/CUBE.

  • How to save data results into text file

I want to solve an equation of degree 2 for example, and results are displayed in a text file

Like many other software coding forums, we don't want to give hand outs.  We are more than happy to give hand ups.  Show that you've tried to figure out the problem and show us where you are stuck.  Then we will be glad to help you get you unstuck.  If we just give you an answer, you will learn nothing.
As far as writing to a text file, look in the File I/O palette for the Write to Text File primitive.  Also, if you go to Help->Find Examples... and do a search for "text file" you will get some examples of how to use it.

  • Curious: How does "Save for Web" reduce the file size?

I do know HOW TO USE "Save for web" -- no questions there. I'm wanting to understand better what's going on under the hood.
When I start with say, an 8x10 JPG at 300 dpi, I understand completely how bringing that down to 72 dpi yields a much smaller file. Simple math.
What I don't understand is how the "Save for Web" function can reduce that smaller file size so drastically at the same dimensions, still 72dpi, with negligible image loss (at least at the 80% quality). Maybe it's just my amateur eyes, but for everyday casual web pages, I can discern no significant difference between the two 72dpi images. (At lower quality settings, I do see differences.)
Can anyone explain a bit more of HOW Photoshop does this? Is it simply compression? For example, is it -roughly- analogous to converting an AIF sound file as an MP3?
    Thanks,
    cb

Thanks, that worked. I figure there was a setting in there somewhere and was even in the right tab, but didnt think to click on that.

  • How to save 4 versions of a file in the application server

    Hi,
I have to write a program which will extract few data from SAP and write it in a file in the SAP application server. This program will be run once every month.
I need to save 4 versions of the files, current and 3 prior.  These versions should cycle off the oldest once a new version has been created.
Could anyone help me how to do this?
    Thank you!
    Regards,
    Sunitha.

    Hi Sunitha,
The best way is to write a unix script in the unix server to do the job for you. Once The file is written in the server then leave the job from the unix side to get this done.
This is the best option i think. Writing a script is not a big task. You can call the script from ABAP or from an external daemon in the unix server. We have many such programs in our org.
    Hope this helps
    Cheers

  • How do you put Save as back in the File menu?

I know under File the "save as" is gone. I also know that if you push the option key it will show up under the File menu until you take your finger off the option key. What I want to know is how can you get the "save as" back under the file menu without pushing another key. I had someone tell me how to do it in Mavericks but I can't seem to remember how he told me to do it. I appreciate any help here!
I'm on a 13" MacBook Pro with Retina and running Yosemite.
    Thanks

You can try this or do a Google search to find alternatives.

I have just bought a Panasonic Lumix compact camera. Aperture and Preview can't open the RAW files from this camera. Panasonic recommend downloading 'SYLKPIX Developer Studio SE' to save RAW file formats. How can Aperture and Preview read the files?

Either use 'SYLKPIX Developer Studio SE' to develope the RAW files and to save them in another lossless format like TIFF, or try if Adobe's free DNG Coverter can convert your Lumix RAW files to dng. Then import the dngs. This way, your files will still be RAW files.  This works (most times) for my Lumix FZ28.

  • My daughter created a movie using iMovie, which she has worked on for a month, when trying to save it on a jump drive she was asked to "finalize" the movie...now there is no record of it at all. Any ideas how I could try and retrieve the file?

My daughter created a movie using iMovie 11, which she has worked on for a month. When trying to save it on a jump drive she was asked to "finalize" the movie, and while this was running (quoted 13 hours!) she received an error message. Now there is no record of it at all, I have looked in trash etc. Any ideas how I could try and retrieve the file?

The file cannot be reloaded in iMovie using File > Open Recent  ??
There is no trace of the file in a Spotlight search?
The project files are not under <user>/Movies/iMovie Projects ??
Finalizing creates small, medium and large version of the finished video. It does take a long time, but it should not destroy your project files.
Oh, and you really MUST have a backup of your files. You can expect to lose files if you have no other copies of them.

  • How do I save a copy of the file?

I used to be able to save a copy of the file in Fill & Send processm but now it only allows me to save a blank copy ????

    Hi liang.z,
Let me know which application or service of Adobe you are using. Also let me know the extact steps (workflow) you are following.

  • Saving query results to text file

    Hi experts,
I would like to save a query results to text file.
The query has desined to the correct structure and I wish the query results will be saved automaticly to text file every time the query is running.
The query should cintain some sql code that will save the query to text file instead of show the query results.
What function of SQL should I add to query to achieve that goal. (The query is a long one).
    Thanks in advance,
    Joseph

If you are talking about Query Manager, it is not difficult to do.  No matter how long your query coding is, just go to the start point of your query.  Then press CtrlShiftEnd to select all the TEXTs.  CtrlC and CtrlV will copy the text (query codes) to text file easily.
    Thanks,
    Gordon

  • Save query results in pipe delimited format

I am running a query in SQL Developer. Can you please tell me how to save and/or export the results in pipe delimited format? Thanks....

You just need to right click in the results grid, then chose export and complete the following wizard.
For pipe delimited files the file format should be delimited and then you will need to change the "delimiter" to a pipe.
