How to search tables and views used in the code of oracle fmb 6i from another form???
Hii guys, this is a very interesting question and i hope that it will have ample amount of answers.
My requirement is to know the number of tables and views and backend functions/procedures which are used in the code written in the oracle forms 6i,
all i want is to display whole views, tables or functions/procedures which are written in the code of a particular fmb, i do have the path of that fmb and i want to read the code and search through it's entire code for the tables/views/backend procedures/functions written in the code. So how to search through the entire code of a particular form (6i) and make it display through another form.
I am using oracle forms 6i.
Please help me out....

Ankit Chandra
Here is a modified dealForm.jsp that merges the 2 steps - both symbol submission and Yahoo convert is done by it. Play with it and add your DB code to it:

String symbol = request.getParameter("symbol");
if (symbol != null) {
String urlString = "http://finance.yahoo.com/download/javasoft.beans?SYMBOLS=" + symbol + "&format=ab";
try {
URL url = new URL(urlString);
URLConnection con = url.openConnection();
InputStream is = con.getInputStream();
InputStreamReader isr = new InputStreamReader(is);
BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader(isr);
String line = br.readLine();
StringTokenizer tokenizer = new StringTokenizer(line,",");
String name = tokenizer.nextToken();
name = name.substring(1, name.length()-2);
String price = tokenizer.nextToken();
price = price.substring(1, price.length()-2);

How to create tables and views and procedures in other users as one
HI to all,
I am having a user named vijay and i am trying to create the tables in user srini as user vijay
in user vijay i'm having tables
1. company
2. department
i wrote one procedure
create or replace procedure sp_createobjects{short_name in varchar2}
{my openbracket key is not working so that i put open braces here}
as
cursor table_name is select object_name from dba_tables where object_type = 'TABLE';
var_table_name varchar2{1000};
begin
open table_name;
loop
fetch table_name into var_table_name;
execute immediate 'create table ' || short_name || '.' || var_table_name || ' as select * from '||var_table_name;
end loop;
end;
the procedure is created sucessfully. but when i am trying to execute the procedure it is throwing the error as insufficient privileges.
my 2nd question is how to create the procedures into the other user?
Thanks in advanceFirst of all, your query "from dba_tables where object_type = 'TABLE'" returns all tables, not just the tables of the user vijay.
So there are two possibilities, you may be getting the error because you cannot select from another user's table or you may be getting the error because you cannot create a table under the user srini. To create tables in another schema you need the "create any table" privilege. -
I have a db, call it xyz.mdb
It suddenly is that SSMS is not listing the table objects nor the Views. SELECT * FROM sys.Tables and SELECT * FROM sys.Views work very fine. But when I click on the tables node, on Objects Explorer, Only the Systems Tables and File Tables folders
show.
Other DBs on same SQL instance do not show same problem. They are all working very fine.
I have backed up and restored this db on other computers and the behaviour is the same. Incidentally right-clicking the db and clicking Properties throws up this error message.

When I try to Refrresh the Tables node on Object Explorer, I get this other:

How to add a font for use by the code editor
Version 3.0.04 windows
found Preferences -> Code Editor -> Fonts
Did not see the font I would like to use in the list. The font is terminal. The font can be displayed in Control Panel -> fonts in windows.
In the help I found Edit Font Location but could not find the dialog box described in the help
Is there a procedure to add the font so SQL Dev can use it?
ThanksHi Dag,
Apparently editing Font Location in 3.0 applies only to ...

What are lot transaction register report source tables and views?
I have a request to create a custome report duplicating all the fields in the standard "lot transaction register" report in EBS 12.1.1. How can I find all the tables and views used in this report or any standard report for that matter?
You can either download the report from the server and open it using Reports Builder 10g on your client and get the code. Or, enable trace and generate the tkprof file for this concurrent program and get the object names.
Thanks,

How to find Tables and Fields from R3 that some InfoSource use
Hi people,
I already know how to get the table or fields from R3 that some InfoSource use by "Portal SAP" that our friend here answered.
Now, I would like to know if there is some way to get this but using some transaction in the ECC6 (R3) or BW.
I ask by that because I will be some situation that I will have to know tables and fields that some InfoSource use and maybe there isn't in the Portal SAP.
Obs.: I don't know ABAP, so I would like some way that doesn't use Debug (ABAP), if it is possible.
Thank you,
Rosana.Hi Rosanna
In many cases you will be able to get documentation from help.sap.com regarding the tables and fields used by standard datasources. For example for all the Sales and Distribution datasources you can refer the below link
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/17/cd5e407aa4c44ce10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm
Here you can click on the different datasources and see both the table and field names. If you are looking for any specific datasource let me know...may be i can help.
Thanks. -

Catalog of usable wwv_flow_* tables and views
I would like to know where I can find a catalog of usable wwv_flow_* tables and views? Does it come with a description of what it is really for and how it could be applied?
Hello,
I don't think there is an official catalog of the wwv_ stuff. You can find some useful information on chapters 16 and 22 of the user guide, but other then that I think this forum is the best knowledge source. From time to time, the Oracle guys, and other experienced developers, reveals their secrets, and some of then even teach you how to use them properly
My advice search this forum.

Thanks in advanceWelcome to the world of complicated Oracle Application queries. Didn't fully understand your question, so a few guesses -
I think that you are asking how to make your query faster? I would reference the FAQ section on how to post a question regarding performance.
Your title indicates you want to understand the relationship between tables and views. In general, Oracle Applications uses views for 2 reasons - to join data from multiple tables for display, and to differentiate data from different organizations. (I am still on 11i and have heard organizations are handled differently in 12 so I can't speak to that for sure).
To understand the relationship between tables in a view, you can access the view's source code, either through a development tool such as PL/SQL Developer or TOAD (I'm guessing Oracle's tool does this also, but have never used it), or by querying the source from the dba_source table.
select * from dba_source where name = (name of view) and type = 'VIEW' order by line;without the ( ) just the view name, in all capital letters i.e. , 'GL_JE_LINES_V'
Good luck! -
Sql query parsing (retrieve tables and columns used in query)
Hi,
1. Is there any view in Oracle which can tell me, which tables and columns were used in the last ran query, no matter how complex the query is.
2. Secondly I can get table names, used in stored procedures and views, using USER_DEPENDENCIES VIEW, however this System View does not return column names, used in that procedure / view, any idea please .
Thanks and Regards,

2. Secondly I can get table names, used in stored procedures and views, using USER_DEPENDENCIES VIEW, however this System View does not return column names, used in that procedure / view, any idea please .Oracle added fine grained dependency tracking in 11g, but didn't expose any views to query this information. However, it has been reverse engineered a bit: About Oracle: DBA_DEPENDENCY_COLUMNS -
Attach User define tables and view table need add to database into my add-o
Hi there,
I want to deploy an addon, there are User define tables and view table need add to database.
I need some advice on some issues..
1. Can I attach User define tables and view table need add to database into my addon.
2. I wonder which chance is properly to add them, if add these user define objects in time of install and I can't get the enough information that connect to SQL server
Thanks for any help.Hi Weerachai,
Here's an example of how to create a user-defined table in code. My suggestion would be to check if it exists when your add-on starts up and then if not, create the tables, fields and objects.
'User Table
Private Sub CreateTable(ByVal sTable As String, ByVal sDescription As String, ByVal oObjectType As SAPbobsCOM.BoUTBTableType)
Dim oUserTablesMD As SAPbobsCOM.UserTablesMD
Dim iResult As Long
Dim sMsg As String
oUserTablesMD = oCompany.GetBusinessObject(SAPbobsCOM.BoObjectTypes.oUserTables)
If Not oUserTablesMD.GetByKey(sTable) Then
oUserTablesMD.TableName = sTable
oUserTablesMD.TableDescription = sDescription
oUserTablesMD.TableType = oObjectType
iResult = oUserTablesMD.Add()
If iResult <> 0 Then
oCompany.GetLastError(iResult, sMsg)
MessageBox.Show("Error Creating Table: " & sTable & " Error: " & sMsg)
End If
End If
System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal.ReleaseComObject(oUserTablesMD)
End Sub
'User Field
Private Sub CreateField(ByVal sTable As String, ByVal sName As String, ByVal sDescription As String, _
ByVal iSize As Integer, ByVal aFieldType As SAPbobsCOM.BoFieldTypes, _
ByVal aSubType As SAPbobsCOM.BoFldSubTypes, ByVal sLink As String, _
ByVal bMandatory As SAPbobsCOM.BoYesNoEnum)
Dim oUserFieldsMD As SAPbobsCOM.UserFieldsMD
Dim oTable As SAPbobsCOM.UserTable
Dim iResult As Long
Dim sMsg As String
Dim i As Integer
Dim x As Integer
Dim bFound As Boolean = False
Dim oField As SAPbobsCOM.Field
oTable = oCompany.UserTables.Item(sTable)
For i = 0 To oTable.UserFields.Fields.Count - 1
oField = oTable.UserFields.Fields.Item(i)
'MessageBox.Show(oField.Name)
If oField.Name = "U_" & sName Then
bFound = True
End If
Next
System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal.ReleaseComObject(oTable)
If Not bFound Then
oUserFieldsMD = oCompany.GetBusinessObject(SAPbobsCOM.BoObjectTypes.oUserFields)
oUserFieldsMD.TableName = "@" & sTable
oUserFieldsMD.Name = sName
oUserFieldsMD.Description = sDescription
oUserFieldsMD.Type = aFieldType
If aFieldType = SAPbobsCOM.BoFieldTypes.db_Alpha Or aFieldType = SAPbobsCOM.BoFieldTypes.db_Numeric Then
oUserFieldsMD.EditSize = iSize
Else
oUserFieldsMD.SubType = aSubType
oUserFieldsMD.Mandatory = bMandatory
End If
oUserFieldsMD.LinkedTable = sLink
iResult = oUserFieldsMD.Add()
If iResult <> 0 Then
oCompany.GetLastError(iResult, sMsg)
MessageBox.Show("Error Creating Field: " & sTable & "." & sName & " Error: " & sMsg)
End If
System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal.ReleaseComObject(oUserFieldsMD)
End If
End Sub
If you want to create a View I think you would have to use the RecordSet object. This will ensure that you don't have to log in to the database again
Hope it helps,

How do my wife and i use the same ipad?
How do my wife and i use the same ipad?
Nothing keeps you from handing it "back and forth" to share. I do this all the time on our couch with my Wife's iPad...
I think your quesiton revolves around having your own bookmarks and other data/info on the device.
The iPad is meant to be a "single user device"; there isn't a login/logout to differenciate one user from another. "The iPad isn't a computer".. ;-)
But, that being said, there are lots of ways to share the iPad/iOS environment. Many apps, such as Facebook, let you login and out.. so, while you share the same app, each of your login is different.
For bookmarks and notepad it is a little trickier.. You can each use a different browser (so all of your bookmarks are complerety seperate.)
In some cases I would sugest a couple get a $900 Macbook Air rather than an iPad if this sharing won't work. "Why can't I log in and out of and iPad?". I think that the fact that it doesn't gives the iPad many adantages over a computer.
If you have more specific questions pleaser ask away. Just like you share the kitchen table and many other things around your household, there are many ways to make this work! ;-)

How can I download and view a pdf with iphone?
How can I download and view a pdf with iphone?
If the PDF is an email attachment, you can view it by tapping on the attachment icon while you are viewing the email message. Another option is to set up a dropbox account and then use a computer to drop the PDF into your account. Install the iOS dropbox app and you can view PDFs there that way.
