How to select email account for sending notifications

I have three calendars (for example, C1, C2, C3). My Mail application has 3 email accounts (A1, A2, A3).
How can I make the calendar send notifications using a selected email account?
For example, I want all calendar email notifications to be sent using account A2.

If I change, all my emails would go out the selected account.
Correct.
I routinely use that method, which means that I must select a different account in the "New Message" window "From:" field when I choose to send mail from a different account.

is there any way to setup a email account for sending only? i have a pop account that i fwd to my google acct, so all my mail is mapi thru google/exchange. i do need this account as a send email address so currently i have entered a wrong password so i do not duplicate my inbox. its annoying as i get the bad reteival popup continuessly. Many email products, like outlook allow you to decide which accounts to download. it should be a simple fix from Apple, but dont think there is any one to talk too about this. other option is to use the gmail app or chrome, but like apple's email better for iphone Any ideas??

Multiple email accounts for iCal notifications

I have multiple email accounts. I would like to be able to use the email account of my preference when sending a notification for a calendar (meeting) invitation. I would like to be able to select the preferred email account for every invitation I send.
This is not possible on iCloud (never was possible on iCal either).

I too have the same request of Apple's programmers. It is very nearly 2012. I believe Outlook has had this capability for at least the latst decade. I've spent the better part of the last two days going through every thread on these boards, and I've tried everything - none of it works. This shouldn't be that difficult.
What I think is the problem is this:
iCal uses my "APPLE ID" email. It is the only possible explanation because THAT is the email that iCal sends from, every time. I've deleted that ID from my "ME" card, it's been removed from the previous recipients list, it does not exist on this computer EXCEPT for being related to my Apple ID.
Simply being able to select which email I send an invite FROM would be a huge advancement in iCal. I have a number of calenders in iCal, most of which sync with iCloud. I should be able to select the from email every time I set up an invite, or at least be able to select a default send from email for each calendar. This shouldn't be rocket science.
Does Apple ever read these boards? There are threads back to 2009!

Select Email accounts for notifications

I have three email accounts, two work related and one personal. The personal account is the one that gets all the spam and junk I don't want to be notified about. The other two work related accounts contain emails which I want to know about immediately. The problem is that I can't seem to turn on notifications for just the two work accounts without turning on notifications for the personal account. Am I missing something here? Help!!!

I actually had the exact same problem - coming from a Blackberry environment I had expectations that I would have a decent amount of control over notifications, but it is sadly something completely missing from the iPhone - a lot of the settings are of an 'all or nothing' nature (including vibrate - what is up with that?!).
I long to be able to go back to the days when I could have all things silent - except things that I consider important. It amazes me how this hasn't made its way into iOS yet - if someone calls me on my work phone at 2am - I need to hear it and answer it, but I do not want to be kept awake by all the emails coming in from China. On the Blackberry - easy, on the iPhone - impossible.
Anyway, you have to think creatively to work around the lack of features, what I do is use webmail for all my personal mail - very easy to do with gmail, just add a shortcut to the homescreen - then I can just check this as I need, while still getting alerts for important work mails.

How to control email account for iCal confirmations/invitations?

I have seen some older discussions on this, but nothing recent and there seemed to be some confusion over whether the email account used by iCal was set in Address Book or in the Apple ID.
In Mountain Lion (or Mavericks, which I'm bound to get soon), how does iCal know which email account from which to send confirmations and invitations? In other words, where does one go to change the default account used?
Is it possible to set up different accounts for different calendars? Or (this would be so nice) to get iCal to ASK ME what email account I want to use each time it sends something on my behalf?
Any insights will be appreciated!

Somehow iCal managed to get ahold of an OLD email address that I didn't even have when I purchased this Mac, which was a couple of years ago. The email it is using is nowhere in my address book. (at least not under my name and when I type it in, nothing appears)
I read something about a "card" but I cannot find the card anywhere except in the iCal help notes. Shame on you Apple! How can something so simple be made so difficult? Why isn't there a place in iCal to go to edit notifications email? Am I the only one who could think this way? Please help.

Defining email account for sending invites

I think I'm using iCal as intended. I work at home and have multiple calendars but let's just say I have three calendars -- Home, Work and Other -- and I have three email accounts -- eHome, eWork and eOther.
I seem to have limited control over which email address is used to send invites from a particular calendar. I think I understand why it changes but what I can't understand is why can't I set the outbound email account on a per-calendar basis.
Ideally, I could click on the calendar and in the info pane, select one of the e-mail accounts in my mail application (Mail). That would be static such that any time I sent an invite from the Work calendar, it would be sent via my eWork account.
Is there a way to do this that I'm missing? This seems like a rather obvious weekness that is causing confusion with my various associates. Is there a way to address this?

Yes, I think you understand the situation. However, just yesterday something happened that really confused me. I thought the messages were sent via one of the accounts define in Mail. However, I sent out invitations to two people and got the responses back on my Blackberry! dress in the address book.
When I investigated, the replies were actually sent directly to the Blackberry's e-mail address and the invitees thought they may have come from that address. I have no Blackberry account defined in mail and only the address is listed in "MY" card in the Address Book. Very odd.
I've looked at some recent invites and they are being sent via several different addresses/accounts (e.g. work, DSL account, .Mac, etc.) The Blackberry thing definitely has me confused.

I've been looking for this as well. I use gmail and also have a work email account and want to only be notified, or have the unread message count increment when I have an email from my work account. What I did to resolve this (until apple provides us with the option to only receive notifications on selected email accounts) is to go into settings, mail contacts calendars, choose my gmail profile, then switch off Mail. Then, I downloaded the gmail app from the app store. Now in order to read my gmail, I have to use the gmail app, but any new messages coming into my regular mail box only increment from my work account.

I have created a new & separate apple id and I want that on my phone but I can't figure out how to delete his email from my phone.

To change iCloud accounts you have to go to Settings>iCloud, sign out, then sign back in with your other ID to create your new account. If you want to migrate a copy of the iCloud data to the new account, start by saving any photo stream photos that you want to keep to your camera roll (unless already there) by opening your my photo stream album, tapping Select, tapping the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow), then tapping Save Image. If you are syncing notes with iCloud that you want to keep, you'll need to open each of your notes and email them to yourself so you can later copy and paste the text into new notes created in your new account. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out, choose Keep on My iPhone and provide the password to turn off Find My iPhone when prompted. Then sign back in with your new Apple ID to create your new account and choose Merge to upload the data to your new account. Once you are on a separate account you can go to iCloud.com and delete your husband's data from your account (and he can do the same with yours).
Just be aware that the current @icloud.com email address cannot be moved to the new account, nor can the current my photo stream album (which is why you need to save any my photo stream photos you want to keep to your iPhone before signing out of the existing account).

In Mail Preferences/Accounts/each GMail account, set up the SMTP Outgoing Server for each account separately, going into SMTP name/edit/Advanced and specify the Username of each account. The Outgoing servers must be two different servers, authenticated by the Username and Password of each.
Otherwise, the GMail SMTP server will change the from address to that of the account where the SMTP server was setup.

Hello, please advise how can i delete e-mail acount on my lenovo s60? I created 2 accouts for two my e-mails (gmail) but i can't find how to delete one of them. I entered Settings / Accounts / E-mail / account settings / my e-mail / but there is no any dots out there, only new button Add account. I am trying to delete not google account but e-mail account: POP / Imap ets. (by the way with google account there are also no dots to click). I would appreciate if you could send print screen to figure out where i can find these dots. Even more, it is not possible to correct account to IMAP once it is set for POP. There are two separate things you can do.
You can add up to three 'email aliases' - these are additional addresses (not accounts) which deliver into the same inbox as the main account. (In fact it's a good idea to give out alias addresses, rather than the main address, because if they attract spam you can easily change them.) (New aliases can only be @icloud.com ones; @me.com addresses cannot now be created.)
You should be aware before you start that once you've created an alias you cannot turn that address into a full iCloud account or move it to another account, and if it has @mac.com or @me.com versions these cannot be reinstated once deleted.

Or if you want a completely separate account you will have to create a new iCloud account and sign into it in System Preferences>Mail, Contacts and Calendars. Note that any one device can create only three iCloud accounts.

After each step, toggle FaceTime and iMessage off and then on in Settings > Messages and Settings > FaceTime.
Update to the latest version of iOS.
Ensure that your iPhone is set to the correct time zone. Tap Settings > General > Date & Time.
Note: If Set Automatically is on but the incorrect time zone is displayed, turn Set Automatically off and then choose the correct time zone, date, and time. Then turn Set Automatically on again.
Ensure that FaceTime has not been restricted: Settings > General > Restrictions > FaceTime.
Verify that you can send SMS messages. You need a valid SMS messaging plan to activate FaceTime.
Contact your carrier to verify that there are no restrictions or blocks on text messages. Blocks on text messaging will prevent iMessage and FaceTime registration.
If you are unable to activate iMessage or FaceTime on a device after remote wiping it, wait at least 24 hours and try again.
If "Waiting for Activation" is displayed, leave FaceTime and iMessage enabled for 24 hours. Toggling FaceTime or iMessage off and on will cause the registration process to start over.

Many ISP provided email accounts limit connections to their outgoing SMTP email servers to only connections coming from their own network. So, if you try to send email when not connected to their network (i.e. when not at home), the connection will be rejected.
If you are using an ISP provided email address, in these circumstances, you'll need to ask your ISP if they provide an "authenticated SMTP connection" so that you can send email via their SMTP server when not actually accessing the internet via their network. You'll need to enter your email account username and password in the Outgoing SMTP server settings and possible configure SSL or outgoing port numbers. Your ISP will be able to advise on this though, as the exact setting vary between ISPs.
By far the best solution though, is to use an email account that is not tied to any particular ISP, such as a GMail account, as these can be used from anywhere, on any network and provide authenticated SMTP as standard.
