How to set textField.Background alpha?

Is there a way to set the alpha of textField.Background to say 30? I already have the following:
txtField.background = true;
txtField.backgroundColor = 0xEE9A00;
All I need is a way to set the background so that it's not 100% opaque?

actually i was doing in flex before this.
i dont know what is sprite and other stuffs.
my class extends sprite and adds a TextField Child.
hence, as much i can understand is there is already a sprite.
can u pls elaborate how to change your suggestion to CODE so
that i can try.

    90% of the code you posted is not relevant to your question.
    If you want further help post a Short, Self Contained, Compilable and Executable, Example Program (SSCCE) that demonstrates the problem.

    Can any body tell me how to set the background color to midlet.??

    if you are using Screen then you can call its setBackColor()
    or if you are using Canvas then you can call
    g.setColor(r,g,b);
    g.fillRect(0,0,getWidth,getHieght);
    where g is the Graphics instance of Canvas,for further information consult documentation

  • How to set the background for all components?

    hi
    Does anybody know how to set the DEFAULT background color in an application.. I need it because in jdk 1.3 the default bgcolor is grey and in 1.5 it is white.. and I wish white as well.. so to make it also white in jdk 1.3 I need to use the (a bit annoying) anyContainer.setBackground( Color.white ); and these are lots in my app.. So my question is: is there such an overall class with a function (say UIManager.setComponentsBackground( Color color ) ) for such a purpose?
    any tip or link would be greatly appreciated

  • How to set a background image to fill the entire screen on any device in a spark mobile application

    Hi,
    I started developing a mobile application with Flex.
    I'm trying to set a background image to fill the whole screen. I've been stucked at this point for days now. I tried everything and no solution seems to work for me.
    I'm using a TabbedViewNavigatorApplication and i need to set some background images on views.
    I need my image to fill the entire screen on any device. i don't need to mantain image aspect ratio,  just need it to be fullscreen. This seemed to work when setting a custom skin on the TabbedViewNavigatorApplication, however this blocked all my views for some reason and all components contained in view became invisible.
    Can you please tell me how can i achieve this?
    Kind regards,
    Dan

    Basically you need a larger image which can accommodate any device. The trick is to show only what each device can display, so therefore some clipping will occur based on device. Have something centered and towards margins have a  gradient or just plane colors that way the stuff in the middle will be visible on every device while nobody will care if you are clipping from the color fill.

    Hi All,
              i creared a view with 2 textboxes and a button.These elements are in TransparentContainer.I set the background color to the TransparentContainer.By setting color to the TransparentContainer it is comming at the center and the 4 sides of it is displaying in the normal background color of the browser
    i didnt find any color options for the view called RootUIElementContainer.the width and height of the view are setted to the browser means 1024*768.
    Just like sap editor which we get by the link https://www.sdn.sap.com i want to get my view .....
    I want to set color to this RootUIElementContainer element which effect the whole view...not the containers or groups which i add under this RootUIElementContainer
    Regards
    Padma N

    hi Padma,
    For changing the background colour you will have to make the change in the theme.
    You can download the theme editor plugin for eclipse from SDN. With this plugin, you can make changes to the default themes , save as a new theme
    Or if you are using portal, then goto system administrator, theme editor, select SAP Streamline and change the color in Screen areas -> application, then save the theme with different name.

    Instead of extending JCheckBox, extend JPanel... put a checkbox in it. (border layout center).
    Or better yet, don't extend any gui component. This keeps things very clean. Don't extend a gui component unless you have no other choice.

  • How to set the Background Color of a Text Field in a Tabular Report.

    Hello,
    I tried to set the Background Color of a Text Field in a Tabular Report.
    But I was not able to change this colur.
    In the report attributes --> column attributes
    I tried already:
    1. Column Formating -- >CSS Style (bgcolor: red)
    2. Tabular Form Element --> Element Attributes (bgcolor: red)
    but nothing worked.
    Can anybody help me?
    I Use Oracle Apex 2.2.1 on 10gR2
    thank you in advance.
    Oliver

    in "Report Attributes" select the column to move to the "Column Attributes" page. In the "Element Attributes" field under the "Tabular Form Element" region enter
    style="background-color:red;"
    I will also check if there is a way to do this via the template and post here again
    edit:
    in your template definition, above the template, enter the following:
    < STYLE TYPE="text/css" >
    .class INPUT {background-color:red;}
    < /STYLE >
    (remove the spaces after the < and before the >)
    change "class" to the class that the template is calling
    (I'm using theme 9, the table has: class="t9GCCReportsStyle1" so I would enter t9GCCReportsStyle1)
    A side-effect of using this second version is that ALL input types will have a red background color--checkboxes, input boxes, etc.

  • How to set textfield-values with a process

    Hi.
    I have a form in which the user can fill in some textfields. To ease the usability, there should be a button to set the textfields to predefined values.
    I tried to set the values by implementing the following process:
    BEGIN
    :P2120_VALUE := 100;
    END;
    How can this be realised? What should the "process-point" value of the process be?
    Thanks very much in advance for your help.
    Stephan

    One way to do this would be to set each of the items' Source Used attributes to "Only, ..." and create the process like the one you showed as an after-submit (when button pressed) process then have a branch that goes back to the same page when the button is pressed.
    You should then see the form fields populated with the values established by the process after the branch happens.
    Sometimes with this kind of page logic you have to take care that no after-submit computations, validations, processes, and branches fire when this special button is used, unless you want them to.

  • How to set Window background transparent?

    hello
    i have a splash screen with an Image on it and i want the background of the Window object would be transparent, how can i do it?
    here it is:
    public class SplashWindow extends JWindow{
       public SplashWindow(){
          try{
             JLabel img=new JLabel(new ImageIcon("images/splash.gif"));
             getContentPane().add(img);
             setSize(473,534);
             setLocation(300,300);
             setVisible(true);
          }catch(Exception e){
             e.printStackTrace();
    thank a lot.

    Generally, transaprent backgrounds are fake. What happens is that you set an image as yoru window background and listen for window's moves. When the window is moved, you read the new location and the desktop background and update your window background with the portion of desktop image you have below your window.

  • How to set image background color ?

    Hi All,
    In my project i have image,and if image have black spot or any unwanted spot then i will select that area and say clear it then it will remove that spot and set color of that area similar to area around that spot.
    I have written code for getting pixel color of selected area in image like this
    BufferedImage old_image = ImageIO.read(new File(myFile));
    int[] pixels = new_image.getRGB(0, 0,new_image.getWidth(), new_image.getHeight(),null, 0, new_image.getWidth());
    for (int i = 0; i < pixels.length; i++) {
    Color pixelColor = new Color(pixels);
    System.out.println("RGB ::"+pixelColor.getRGB());
    RGB returning negative value;

  • How to set a background image in javafx?

    Hi everyone,
    I draw FXML GUI,it includes labels and ProgressBar,load it in JavaFX, this is a snippet.
    root = FXMLLoader.load(getClass().getResource("StartMenuFXML.fxml"));
    label1=(Label)root.lookup("#label");
    label2=(Label)root.lookup("#label");
    progressBar = (ProgressBar)root.lookup("#ProgressBar");
    scene=new Scene(root,600,400);
    stage.setTitle("Start Progress");
    Progress p = new Progress();
    p.start();
    stage.setScene(scene);
    stage.show();
    I need to add a background picture in it, so I add the statements:
    GridPane pane = new GridPane();
    pane.setTitle("-fx-background-image: url('image1.jpg')");
    and change: scene =new Scene(pane,600,400);
    It can display the background picture, but I don't know how to display the labels and ProgressBar on the background picture.
    Give me a good resolution please!
    Thank you so much!
