How to show a custom error message in Workflows

Hi
I am working on an already developed Z copy of BO FIPP.
The requirement is to make a customer specific validation on Profit centers which should be checked just before posting the document.
I am aware of the POST method in FIPP that uses Function Module - PRELIMINARY_POSTING_POST_ALL to make sure that everything is fine and captures the errors as well if any. - But it captures only standard SAP errors.
How can I use this FM to capture my custom errors as well.
Or is there any way to achieve this.

The FM returns the error messages if they are standard ones. For example, if the posting period is closed - the FM will not allow the Workflow to proceed further.
But in this case, I have a custom error - for a particular Profit center, Cost center and I/O fields are mandatory(not at time of parking, but should be filled before posting).
Since this is not a standard error, this FM will not stop workflow from proceeding further. How can I have the custom error captured in this FM?

Now I need to display an error message in case any of the mandatory control has validation error.
Message format would be like

I am using (JSF1.2,Rich Faces 3.3.0,Facelets.)
And a Phase Listener from

This Phase listener is to border the control with Yellow in case validation fail.
Now my Query
*1) How can I show a single message for all fields as I marked above in case of validation failure?*

*User can move from one control to other using tab. That time proper validation message is appearing.*

Since you are on 11.5, it is possible to make edits to some of the system jsp pages, etc. but it would NOT be my recommendation to do so. Since the NetWeaver versions for MII 12.0 and beyond use UME for the login instead of the LHSecurity engine, this would be a very short term change.
What specific changes would you like to make, the login page messages, query result messages, applet messages?

Cannot display custom error message in CRM_MKTLIST_BADI

We did implement the following BADI BADI Name: CRM_MKTLIST_BADI
Interface: IF_EX_CRM_MKTLIST_BADI Method: MAP_AND_CONVERT_DATA
This enhancement is for suport the extension field for create new BP in
external list management (transaction CRMD_MKTLIST). The BP creation
process work properly but we cannot display our custom error message,
only SAP standard error message is shown. We did try using the export
parameter ET_MKTLIST_E but it does not work as expected, custom message
still cannot display.
How we can be show the custome error message ?

I have written a checkin filter for word documents. This filter reads Document's meta data and map that meta data Content Server Meta data.
I am validating Document's meta data in filter. If meta data is missing in Document, then i am aborting the checkin.
The issue is, when checkin is aborted , Following error message is displayed " Checkin Failed, dCreateDate is missing". I want customize this error message.
When I checkin word doc using WebDAV, then it gives error "Checkin Failed - some internal error occured" . I want o customize this error message also .
Can you pls help me and let me know how can I achieve this ?

I currently working on create report by using SSRS. I have 2 parameters: [Start date] and [End date] to filter data from database and show it on report. I want to validate 2 datetime parameter as describe above. Please tell me a solution to do this.

According to your description, you have a report with two parameters for user to input. Now you want to validate these two parameters and display custom error message when the date is invalid. Right?
In Reporting Service, it doesn’t provide any interference for us to modify the system error message (the text in grey color). That means we can’t modify the system message when error occurs. However we can create a textbox in this report, use custom code
and expression to display the custom error message. But this all based on the report is successfully running. So if error occurs during report processing, all the custom code and expression will not work. In this scenario, we find a workaround for you. We
use custom code to judge if the date is valid, if the users type an invalid date, we return a default value to make sure this report can successfully run. Then we use expression to control the visibility of tablix in this report and create a textbox to show

Custom error messages on while validating User profile

Hi,
I have developed a valadation handler to validate data of a user while creating/updating.
If any of the attribute valation failed then my ValidationFailedException is getting triggered but it is showing my custom message on the server logs and on UI console i am getting "Server error occured" message. It is not display my custom errror message on the ui console.
Please let me know the steps to perform to show my custom error messages on ui console.
Below are the steps I followed.
1) Develeped a class which implements ValidationHandler.
2) Imported plugin into MDS database
3) Imported EventHandler xml into MDS database.

How to show custom error message in WebADI Excel template?

Hi,
I've created a custom Web ADI integrator and associated it with a 'Procedure' based custom interface.
WebADI Interface API Returns is set to "Error Message".
I'm using raise_application_error(-20001, "Actual Error Message") for invalid rows,but custom error message from PL/SQL is not populated on the excel template.
Instead it is showing "SQL exception occurred during PL/SQL upload".
Am I missing anything? How to show custom error message from Pl/SQL procedure to WebADI Excel template?

on EXIT_SAPLVEDA_002 and EXIT_SAPLVEDA_003 I done some custom check, (I would show some custom message as a result of these check).
My question is: How to show these custom message on the standardc idoc spool (WE02) ??
There's DERRTAB internal table to manage the error, but is not available on there exit ...(EXIT_SAPLVEDA_002 and 3)

question is if you want to raise an error, which makes sense only if the document is not posted or just an information message.
Please consider that you can put messages into the idoc only connected with a status. If you set status 51 thge Idoc is reprocessible, if you set status 53 it is successfully processed.
In error case you can raise exception USER_ERROR. in exit EXIT_SAPLVEDA_002. Set SY-MSGTY, SY-MSGID, SY-MSGNO, etc before. In exit EXIT_SAPLVEDA_003 you can set changing parameter ok to space. Then SAP will add an error message.

we are working on a custom Contact Center which interfaces with SAP CRM Version 7 with Enhancement Package over ICI.
The basic call functions like accepting, hanging up, holding and retrieving are fully implemented and are working already.
Our goal is to display error messages in the CRM so that clients know there is something wrong, for example why he can't be log in successfully (e.g. the telephony server isn't reachable).
We already found the ICI Documentation file which provides us the CRM SOAP error codes and tried to send SOAP Fault messages, but never got
them to screen.
Please find an attached example screenshot what we mean exactly, reproduced by trying to make a call with CRM user while BCM CDT isn't
running in the background.
Regarding to this topic we've the following questions:
- Is it possible to display custom error messages on the CRM or is this functionality limited to SAP?
- Could you provide us some further information on how to use this feature exactly (implementation details?) and how the SOAP XML should look like to get it work?

In tcBaseEvent class there are various flavors of handleError method. So use that as per my note earlier and you should be good.

But the scenario what I am talking about is different from the one mentioned in the link.
I am using a KM Document iView. In the iView parameter, Path to Document, I have given the path to a document which does not exist in KM.
For example, Path to Document - /documents/Test Folder/abc.html.
There is no document by the name abc.html in KM.
In this case, I get an error called "404 - The requested resource is not available." How can I get rid of this message and show a custom message instead?
Please note that, this message appears at the iView level (and not page level as mentioned in the link)
