How to specify MIME type handlers in Safari?

In the old days, it was possible to specify the MIME type handler in web browsers like Netscape, etc. I can't seem to find this functionality in Safari. Is it possible to do this?
Specific intended use case: I use a website that includes document attachments that are of MIME type message/rfc822. They're just the text source of email messages (with a .eml extension). When I click on a link to one of these attachments, Safari wants to download it to a file, warns me that a ".eml" file might be dangerous (that's another thing I'd like to fix), and so forth. It's just a text file. I'd like to make Safari just display the text, as if it were of MIME type text/plain.
Any hints or is not not possible?

When you create an instance of a COM object using COM Interop, it is the equivalent of calling CoCreateInstance with CLSCTX_ALL.

If you don't like the automatic behavior, then Create the object manually (PInvoke CoCreateInstance) and just marshal the interface pointer to get a runtime callable wrapper by specifying
MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.Interface) on the result. (The DllImport signature provided at the pinvoke.net link above marshals it this way.)

In IIS v4 which comes with the Windows NT4 option pack, you right click the web page you are working with, select properties, then go to the HTTP Headers tab. At the bottom there's a button labelled File Types in the MIME Map section.
After you've clicked that, you can add the two mime types you need;
Associated Extension MIME Type
.jar application/x-java-jar-file
.jnlp application/x-java-jnlp-file
I'm assuming that it is the same in W2k/IIS5.

Hi All,
I am working on Apex 3.2.1.00.10.
When I am trying to upload (create) a ".js" file into Static Files under Shared Components of an application; it is saving as "*text/plain*" for Mime Type. But I need Mime type to be set as "*application/x-javascript*".
Please help me to change the Mime type of .js file.
Or is there any way to upload the file directly as "*application/x-javascript*" as its Mime Type.

How to determine mime-type of a file using OSB

I was working on a requirement where in it requires to use FILE/ FTP adapters using OSB or BPEL as solution. The idea is to pick up files from one location to another location for certain legacy platforms. The real issue is, someone can put a JPEG file in the upload/download location(s), merely by changing the extensions. When this happens the systems will not process since the mime-type is incorrect.
I know of an open-source API (Apache-Tikka) to determine the mime-types, but then if we use open-source why would customer buy from us.
The intention is to pick-up the file and simply pass-it (and not parse) on to next system using File or FTP adapter, but in the process, cross check the MIME-TYPE before doing so.
Any solution using Oracle Service Bus or BPEL would help

Safari doesn't know how to play mime type wav OS10.4.11 safari 3.0.4

Tried to use ebay's feature to play the audio for the distorted security code number I see in a box.
Naturally the Mac fails to know how to read the mine type wav file format.
I am sure I need a helper application plugin to interpret the wavfile format.
I am sure I will need help to find out where to install said plugin and how to install the plugin.

Do you have the free plug-in Filp4Mac installed in your machine? If not, do so. It converts WMV files to Quicktime format.

How to determine mime type of multi-part message uploaded to rest api?

I have a rest api that is used to upload data from different types of clients and serves as a proxy to write data to Azure blob storage. For testing, I'm using Fiddler on a PC.
The code in my rest api that writes to blob storage looks like this:

I think I found a solution using some other threads. I'm not sure if it's the most performant or best but I'm able to get to the content-disposition and the content-type of the stream to get the details:

In the Form Interface in the tables section. i've mentioned the parameter name as itab and type as table and Associated type as spfli. But, it's giving an error saying - SPFLI Flat types may only be referenced using LIKE for table parameters. How can i correct this error. My requirement is to print the spfli table using smart forms..

If you want to use TYPE, you need to create a TABLE TYPE based on SPFLI by SE11
