How to split a .java file

i want to split the .java file into two portions, then combine them again.
is this possible, and is there any mature technique to do it?

you know, an application may contain several .class files.
i want to split them into two parts. one part is on client side, the other one is on server side. after the client downloading the server part, he can execute the application.
i m trying to split one or two .class files into two chips. Then the client can download the chip on the server side and combine them to the full .class file. is it possible?

JSPs are compiled into servlets automatically and those classes are stored in WEB-INF/classes folder. Servlet engine handles servlets.

Im not too sure about the Java project. But single normal java files with public static void maain(String [] args) are very simple to execute.
1. Write the java code somewhere lets call this class A.
2. Make a dummy page flow.
3. In the begin action of this pageFlow, call the main method of the A class directly using A.main(null) since main is a static method. your code will work fine.
4. If you have to pass a String[] as parameters. Before calling main, create this String[] and then pass it.
In this way you can make a jsp and take the input from the user also.

Do you know how to call the sun.* compiler? If not then search the forums for it. If that interface still exists (which it might not in newer versions) you then will create a string stream from your class and pass it to that.

You'll need to add the j2ee.jar to your classpath. Usually you'll have to add some jars from your app server to your classpath as well.
For example (using weblogic):
javac -classpath c:\java\j2ee\j2ee1.3.1\lib\j2ee.jar;c:\tools\appserver\weblogic\wl7.1\lib\weblogic.jar

Hi All,
I am extending a seeded CO and when I try to compile it in JDev , it asks for many class files the seeded CO imports.
I have copied all those imported files to my local system and when I try to compile , it still throws an error that some class files used by the classes imported in seeded CO are missing. Now this goes on and on. ( Seems entire server needs to be on my local system).
Now I decided to port the custom CO to server and compile it there. Even this seems to be a hard task for me as the javac command is not working on the server. It throws following exception
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.ClassFormatError: com.sun.tools.javac.main. Main (erroneous method access flags)......................................
Pls suggest how to compile a java file , as downloading entire server classes is a herculean task for me.

I have downloaded around 70 dependent class files to local system. Now the CO is getting compiled correctly.
I am extending a region level controller in Payroll page where in I have to default the salary to a predefined value.
This field is having a VO attribute to it. Now can I go ahead and set a value to the MessageTextInput or should I extend the VO to replace the desired value in the place of already queried value.

And the problem is how to locate the file that has the *.java source code for a.b.c.X?
That is the file that has the source code for a.b.c.X say "some/path/a/b/c/X.java"?
For simplicity, let us assume that TypeElement T corresponds to a top-level Java class.

I tried the same thing but in the input file as there are different company codes,It is not splitting the file into three parts and sending only concerned data to repective system instead the whole file is going to the all the systems.
I came to know that the file has to splitted in the mapping only, we are able to do it by using mapping but the problem is in Routing,as in receiver determination we makes use of source structure for giving the condition. Can you please help me on this.

How to compuile many .java files in a labyrynth of directories?

I dowloaded a source code that I can't still compile !!! I don't use Java in my life :) There are only empty directories following one after another at the end of each there is a single .java file. There are alot of directories and it is supposed that all compiled should work as a one product. How to compile? Any suggestions?

Hi Rahul,
You will not find the "CatalogItemImpl" in the 'businessobject.xml'. The 'businessobject.xml' is there to define session based API of modules. Those API have properties and web channel builder values injected when the user start a web session.
For the "CatalogItem", you will have to use the Generic Factory concept. The Generic Factory is used to allocate instance given a configuration. If no configuration exists, the default implementation is used. By adding an entry in the Generic Factory you can choose to allocate your class instead of the default class.
Within the catalog module, the alias to use for classes extending "CatalogItemImpl" is "com.sap.wec.app.common.module.catalog.businessobject.ext.interf.CatalogItemExtInterf".
Please refer to the extension guide on how to manage the Generic Factory configuration file.

How to compile other java files and run them from my own programs?

I'm developing a unit testing tool for AspectJ, which can originally generate the stubs for aspect unit to be tested. All these stubs are java files. After generation of stubs, how can I program the code to compile this unit together with these stubs, i.e. how can I put the functionality of compilation and run, e.g. command "javac *.java" and "java *", into my own code.
Hope you can understand what I mean.

When I use Runtime.getRuntime().exec(command) for executing the AspectJ compile command "ajc", "IOException createProcess error=2" always occurs, while it is ok for Java comiple command "javac".
Why this happens when I use Runtime.getRuntime().exec("ajc Hello.java Test.aj")? Is it the reason that Runtime.exec(String) may not support any command in DOS?
(ajc is the compile command for the java file and aj file.)

I am trying to develop a small application in j2me which needs dynamic creation of a .class file. For this purpose I tried to create .java file through my j2me code, but i could not do that..I want to know whether a java file can be created on a mobile phone or not..

For +2+ described as extract its class file one needs to have java compiler (javac) on device. *) If you're interested, ask for more details at [Java Compiler forum|http://forums.sun.com/forum.jspa?forumID=7]. Also, if the class file is for CLDC then javac needs to support "JDK 1.3-compliant" compilation. To create CLDC classes on device, one also needs to have a preverifier tool. Check this at Java Compiler forum if needed.
Good luck - I think you'll need a lot of it...
*) javac on device -- it should not only be present but also provide a j2me API allowing to invoke it for particular java file with needed options. Same applies to preverifier tool.
