How to systematically open file in a folder and process them with a program
Hello,
For my second question of the night.
I am wondering if there is a way to open every file in a folder, run them through a vi, and then append the output to an array or spreadsheet? This would save me lots of time and my wrists.

Hi,
Yes you can open a file in the folder by using 'List folder' function (Programming>File I/O>Advvanced File Function>List Folder) which lists all the files and folders in the given path. From that you can build the path and give to 'Open File' function.

hi, i purchased a 2 dvd digital set. i cant just download it straight to my ipad. they said i have to down load it to my i tunes, then can transfer to i pad. im not seeing how to click the files from my email, and get them into the i tunes acct... ugh.
i do not have a mac home pc. just a regular pcI had the same problem after I gave my old iPad to my parents and tried to install Netflix. This is what you have to do: Open iTunes on your computer, the one you sync your iPad to. Then go to iTunes Store and search for and download Netflix app. After you download it, if your iPad is set to download new purchases it may start downloading on your iPad. If so, tap and hold to delete the app (because it is trying to install the new version on the iPad) Next step, go to the App Store on your iPad and find Netflix and it should say install since you already purchased it on the computer. Tap to install, and it will say the version is not compatible, tap to download a previous version. Click that and it will install the older version! One more thing, if and when you sync to your computer again it will say something like " Unable to install Netflix on your iPad" Just click the box to never remind you again, because it's trying to sync the newer Netflix app to your iPad, but it doesn't work so it displays the message. Script to open SVGs in a folder and save them to one multipage PDF
Hi.
I'm using Illustrator for work and I love it, I never needed scripts yet.
Now I have couple houndred svgs coming in per day,
I would like to have a script that opens every svg one by one in the selected directory and add them to a pdf
as pages of the same size and than save it.
Is this possible? How many files I could put in 1 pdf this way?
I'm using Illustrator CS5 on Win7 x64.

IstvanI think there is a 100 file limit on artboards ( not tested ) but the size would also affect that… You can't straight place *.svg but you can make group from them would that do you?

How can user attach file to interactive form, and be read by abap program?
Hello,
I created an abap interactive form, sent to the user, then user fills out the form fields, then it is uploaded back to sap, then my program reads this data and process it.
It works.
Now I want users to be able to attach any file they want, and the abap program to extract this file out of the PDF, to put it into SAP (or anywhere).
I succeeded in attaching a file, I can "see" it via function module get_annotations, but I get the file in compressed form by Adobe (filter="FlateDecode").
Do you know how to unzip the file, or is there another way to attach files in adobe reader/extract them via abap?
I use acrobat reader 8.1.2

Below is the xml obtained by GET_ANNOTATIONS. We see that there are other text annotations, and that the attached file has {length="98005"}, though real file (before "attach file" to the PDF, and also after "detach file") has length 111 995 bytes. It's why I deduced that there is a compression (I also tried to extract it as-is and open it with adobe but it doesn't work.

In Photoshop I have a problem to overcome and have delved into the world of scripting..
If there is a quick way to produce the following could someone help me with some pointers?
Here is my situation..
I need to produce a photograph proof card, these are for a double image option so cause me a headache compared to just creating an action..
This proof card really is just a set of two different photographs placed onto a background image.
I would produce two different images of the same person and name them exactly the same except they are suffixed with an A or B to keep them together, these would be in a folder with approx 500 other images for example (250 x two of each person)
My preference for the process would be done in the following sequence:
1/ Open the background file jpg (which is sized at 2400 x 1800 pixels @ 300dpi)
2/ Load the first image from the batch file and place this.
3/ Get the filename of the first image and create it as a text layer and write it below the image at 10 point text size.
4/ Create another copy of this layer and change the font to 3of9barcode font, however the font needs an asterisk before the text then again after it. e.g. *filenameA*
Only the first image has the need for a barcode as they are for the same person. This is at 18 point.
5/ Load the next sequential image from the batch file and place this.
6/ Get the filename for the second image and as Item 3/ create a text layer below at 10 point text size.
7/ Place a png overlay with my copyright information over the images (I need to do this twice, once for each image)
8/ Flatten the images and save the file in a new folder with the same filename as the first image.
I can do this in Lightroom with the exception of putting the barcoded text, and the filenaming, this is because the background image is used as the identity plate and the filename is not based on the data from either photograph..
Can anyone shed some light on where to go from here?

BryanPhotoshop Scripting-wise this seems fairly "easy".
But I would recommend creating a template file (that already combines background image, png overlay and the Type Layers).
Maybe data driven graphics would also be an option …

Reading multiples files from a folder and processing
Hello everyone,
Im working on a project to analyst and process Acoustic Emission Signals. My problem is that I have a folder that containts several files .txt. Every file contains 16 waveforms (16 channels) that I need to process with an equation to detect the arrival times of the waves.
I have been working in this way : Running the labview code that open the file that I select .. then the processing happens on every wave and I click stop to select the file where I want to save the solutions. The solutions is only a vector of the 16 arrival times detected. Then I have to stop the code (by clicking Abort Execution) and repeat the process ... Run the code and bla bla bla .. and save on the same solution file that I used before.
The ideal situation is to read the files whitout stoping the execution of the code .. For example clicking a buttom to pass to the next file and saving all the solutions to the same file. That is beacause sometimes Im going to have more than a 100 files and this will give me a hard time if a forget in which file I was working. The idea is to make an automatic process.
Please .. I have been trying to find a solution to this while Im working in other part of the code. If someone could suggest me a solution it would be great.

Well Im sorry if I didn't post my .vi ... I was working on it ... and I found a solution (whit some help that I found on the forums) but Im not happy at all ... because I still have to give the last part of the file name.
For example at the beginning I have to input the file name without the final number of the event ...
C:\Users\Irish\Desktop\Hydraulic Fracturing\E1_evento
then I finish adding the file number that I want to process on the folder
C:\Users\Irish\Desktop\Hydraulic Fracturing\E1_evento2.txt or 9.text or ... just the number ...
This is the case when I want to process every file specifying the file .. but what could you suggest me to do process all the data file by file ?

How to load PDF files into oracle database and display them in APEX
Hi All,
We have a requirement for loading the Loading PDF files (lots of PDf files) to the oracle database and then display the PDF files in the Oracel APEX report.
So that User can view the PDF files. Our current APEX verison is 3.2..

I have a questions about the SQL loader. I am trying to insert a pdf file into a table by following the oracle loading sample:

I try my local path, it didn't work. like c:\temp.
then I loaded teh PDf file into our server(/findev20/olmtest/orafin/11.5.7/olmtestcomn/temp) , and In my data file. I put the path

but I got the error: the system can not find the file specified.
Where should I put the PDf files on the server and how to specify the path in the data file?

How can I open all my itunes libraries and merge them into one?
Some of my music can't be opened by itunes because it says it is in another library. As there are several of these and they won't open,I can't see where the songs I want are. Therefore I would like to open ALL the libraries and merge them into one. Thanks for any help.
Hmm, read that post of Dave Sawyer's and thought well, that's Ok I have it on my iPod, but no, it's not there either. Then resorted to Time Machine (not used for a few months (took it away with us when we evacuated to avoid Cyclone Yasi) only to find that is playing up also, and it doesn't appear to be anywhere there either!
One thing leads on to another - Time Machine has only backed up to 3 months back; then there is nothing beyond! yet there is tons of stuff on it. Maybe it backs up the whole system each time, and not just the changes made inbetween times. The prefs. won't appear and so I can't change the setup.
All this just because of one sone! -
How do I create files in Captivate 6 and save them in a lower version?
I have Captive 6 at home and at work we are using 5.5.with no plans to upgrade. How do I create or edit in Captivate 6 and still save files so my coleagues can contribute using the software we are given at work?
Only between 6 and 7 this is possible, not with previous versions. And even between 6 and 7 you can have weird things happening. It has nothing to do with being a normal file or a template, I don't know why you tell that?

I'm trying to use automator (or applescript, or cmd line) to perform a repetitive action on around 5,000 html files.
Here's the problem, can anyone help with the solution.
Sample text is in a file called sample.txt
I want to add the sample txt content to every file in a directory of my choice.
so the script would need to.
1. work it's way through the directory content.
2. For each file it would append the content of the sample.txt and re-save the file to the original file name.sorry but in your first message you said you wanted it at the end of the file. also, you didn't really answer my question. an html file in text form usually starts with <html><head>... (it can have other junk there too)
and ends with ...</body></html>.
how do you want to handle that?
cycling through files is not a problem.
if you are using shell script action you can do the following:
1. get specified finder items (put the folder with your html files in there)
2. get folder content
3. run shell script (pass input as arguments)
for f in "$@"
do
#your shell script here
done
In the above "$@" is treated as the ambient folder from step 1 and f as the unix path of an item in that folder. -

i'm not sure how you create your war but there something wrong with your web.xml. kindly check it :-)
by d way, you can deploy your project in my-eclipse by
- right click on the project then select my-eclipse > Add and Remove Project Deployment's
- a new window will open and you can now configure how you deploy your project :-)
other alternative edit your jboss-service.xml then put something like this
<attribute name="URLs">deploy/, file:/D:/workspace/deploy</attribute>
(note, change the path according to your needs)

How can I OPEN files I just downloaded? They're on the DOWNLOADS screen of Firefox but I can't open them even after double-clicking? And they're not on the FOLDERS as well. Even the right-click is not working ... the "open containing folder" does not work.
