How to transform common object to xml string

I know that I can import xml dtd a the common data type in iStudio. However, does anyone know how to serialize it back to the xml string during the field mapping? Is it even possible?
Thanks,
Edward

Thanks Stuart for your reply. What I'm trying to do is to convert the xml message from the common view object to JMS Text Message. I declared the application data type as AQ$JMS_TEXT_MESSAGE and I try to map the common data type which is I imported from dtd to the application JMS type. During the mapping I need to serialize the common data type object back to xml string, so I can copy it to text_vc field defined in JMS Text Message (String type).
Or do you know any other alternative to convert from RAW XML payload type to JMS payload type in iStudio?
Thanks,
Edward

    Hello Java Gurus
    how to convert Java Objects into xml? i heard xstream can be use for that but i am looking something which is good in performance.

    There are apparently a variety of Java/XML bindings. Try Google.
    And don't be so demanding.

  • How to transform Java object to XMLTYPE ?

    hi,
    I have a Java object (POJO), that I would like to store to oracle xdb (XMLTYPE table). Is there a way to have something like XmlType.createXML(connection, POJO) or XmlType.createXML(connection, POJO, schema) ?
    Currently I transform it as -->
    POJO -> DOM-> String -> InputStream -> XMLTYPE.create( connection, Istream )
    or
    POJO -> DOM-> -> XMLTYPE.create( connection, DOM ) -- which is too slow as xml text size increases above 15kb
    2. My JDBC connection is slow. If theres a way to avoid it in XMLType creation, thts even better.
    3. Pls suggest other ways of doing this.
    Thanks in advance.

    you may try some XML binding tool instead of DOM. (e.g. http://xstream.codehaus.org/tutorial.html).
    There is no problem generating DOM. Its about generating oracle.xdb.XMLType using java api. Could you show a code snippet that would generate XMLType using xstream or other XML binding tools ?
    2) you may use DBMS_XDB.CREATERESOURCE to create a resource from varchar2 or clob parameter.
    Could you show a code snippet that inserts into Secure Binary XMLType table using CreateResource ? Im not using schema. Also Varchar supports 32kb. Conversion from Java String XML to CLOB is expensive ( because Oracle uses jdbc connection)

  • Web Services Consumer Transformation does not expand xml string in WSDL

    I am trying to create a WebService Consumer transformation with a WSDL file which I have imported in Informatica PowerCenter.The WSDL file has complexType xml strings which are not getting expanded while I am importing the WSDL file, thus it’s not showing the input and output fields in the request and response respectively. I have xsd file definition for these xml strings separately and there is no way I can incorporate them with the main WSDL in PowerCenter.  While I looked into the Informatica Documentation I found that in the Developer tool I can create Web Service in Data Services, and incorporate xsd element definition with main WSDL file. But it’s not exactly working in the way its described in the documentation. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello All, I have got a scenario to implement: I have a Character source column which I need to convert to Numeric(18,4) and load into table. My source and target is a Netezza table. If the conversion fails, we do not drop the record, instead insert NULL for those records,i.e. source and target has same number of records. I use an expression as below : DECODE(Input_String, NULL, NULL-- Check for alphabets IIF((UPPER(Input_String) != LOWER(Input_String)), NULL-- Check for special charactersIIF((INSTR(Input_String,',',1) > 0 || INSTR(Input_String,':',1) > 0 || INSTR(Input_String,'@',1) > 0),NULL, TO_DECIMAL(Input_String,4))    )       ) Now my question is, can we use a single INSTR statement and check for all the special characters? I want to avoid writing multiple INSTR statements. Please suggest me how to check multiple characters in a single INSTR statement. Thanks & RegardsBiswajeet.

  • XML : Transform DOM Tree to XML String in an applet since the JRE 1.4.2_05

    Hello,
    I build a DOM tree in my applet.
    Then I transform it to XML String.
    But since the JRE 1.4.2_05 it doesn't work.
    These lines failed because these variables became final:
    org.apache.xalan.serialize.CharInfo.XML_ENTITIES_RESOURCE = getClass().getResource("XMLEntities.res").toString();
    org.apache.xalan.processor.TransformerFactoryImpl.XSLT_PROPERTIES = getClass().getResource("XSLTInfo.properties").toString();The rest of the code :
    DocumentBuilderFactory domFactory = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
    DocumentBuilder builder = domFactory.newDocumentBuilder();
    Document domXML = builder.newDocument();
    // I build my DOM Tree
    StringWriter xmlResult = new StringWriter();
    Source source = new DOMSource(domXML);
    Result result = new StreamResult(xmlResult);
    Transformer xformer = TransformerFactory.newInstance().newTransformer();
    xformer.setOutputProperty(javax.xml.transform.OutputKeys.INDENT,"yes");
    xformer.transform(source,result);Is there any other way to get an XML String from a DOM tree in an applet ?
    I'm so disappointed to note this big problem.

    Does anyone have an idea why I get this error message when try to use transform in an applet?

  • WD(ABAP) - How to convert PDF object to XML

    I know there is a way available to converting PDF object to XML in JAVA. However how to achieve this goal in ABAP?
    In Web Dynpro ABAP, I can bind a context attribute to the pdfSource property of interactive form element. There also should be method to able to convert the binary content of this attribute to XML format, right? Does anyone know it?
    Your help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi all,
    As an extension to Fred's question, is it possible to later use the generated XML data and present it in a PDF template?  It used to be possible using the FDF format, but Adobe seem to have discontinued that.
    My basic requirement is to send the form data to a third party in XML format and for them to be able to view it in human-readable format, preferably using a PDF as a template.
    Is this possible?
    Thanks,

  • How to use common object from two tables with out join.

    HI,
    I have two tables called A & B In A table i have the following objects
    1.weekend
    2.S1(measure)
    3.S2(measure)
    4.S3(measure)
    5.S4(measure)
    And In B table i have followning columns
    1.week end
    2.p1(measure)
    3.p2(measure)
    4.p3(measure)
    5.p4(measure)
    Now in universe i created all the measure objects i.e.s1,s2,s3,s4,p1,p2,p3,p4 A.weekend,B.weekend.
    instead of using week end two times i wnt to use only once because this is common in both table.
    if i use join between these tables i am getting values fine
    But With out join is there any thing to do in universe level to create common objects to use from both the tables..I tried using aggregate awareness but while reporting it is taking as two SQL.which is not synchronized.
    Please help me on this ...

    hi,
    Although  Weekend column is present in both tables, by creating a single Object in Universe, Universe can identify relationship with only table referenced in Object Creation.
    So, there will be no identification of relationship with other table measures.
    Obviously, you need to create 2 Weekend objects in Universe (in two classes).
    Case 1: You need not join these two tables in Universe. When you create 2 Queries in WEBI, automatcially Weekend objects are synchronized (if both are of same datatype)
    Case 2: If you join these two tables in Universe, Obviously,
    your SQL may contain Weekend from Table1, measures from Table 2
    or
    your SQL may contain Weekend from Table2, measures from Table 1
    Finally, You need to create 2 objects in Universe. But your query may contain a single Object based on Case 2.

  • How to convert java object to xml?

    Is JAXB the only way to do so?
    Can somebody help me?
    I have tried for almost a week,
    but I am failed all the time.

    Sax would be the best way to do it,
    Create a class that implements the org.xml.sax.XMLReader interface. Fire events at its ContentHandler (like open tag, element content characters, and close tag) and it can be used to create a javax.xml.transform.sax.SAXSource.
    I learnt how to do this by looking at example code that comes with the pache FOP project. They have a class which is "converted" to XML, and that output is fed through a transformation. I cribbed their code and used it in mine. Including their helper classes AbstractObjectReader and EasyGenerationContentHandlerProxy which help a lot.
    Of course you never see the XML from the object, that's just a transitional form, but you COULD output that if you wanted. Take a look at http://xml.apache.org/fop/ - the code is bundled with the installation under the "examples" directory.

  • How to create value objects from xml

    I am receiving xml back from my web service ( e4x ). I am
    trying to figure out how to create a value object without having to
    manually fetch each value in the value objects constructor. I am
    using introspecton in my Java web service to do this. Is there such
    a thing in Action Script?
    Anyone done this before that can share some code???? Any help
    would be very much appreciated.

    That's twice now I've heard that. lol.
    I am using Cairngorm and I suppose out of ignorance perhaps,
    I am using VO's. So my web service would return an Object Proxy and
    I have some code that could create objects dynamically from the
    results. The objects had to be simple of course and now they are
    becoming more complex thus the need to change to e4x instead of
    objects.
    So now I am trying to convert the xml result into the desired
    VO to be used throughout the rest of the application. I'm not sure
    how to use Cairngorm without the VO's they are tied to everything.
    Are you familiar with the architecture? Your thoughts?

    You could also look at something like Apache Digester, which will parse your XML and populate Java objects with the data. A slightly steeper learning curve than the lower-level APIs such as JDOM, but that's outweighed by the lesser development effortdon't think that would work for the original problem, which seemed to indicate that the xml had an unknown structure.

    There is nothing 'urgent' in this forum. We are all volunteers spending our spare time helping out other users. If you have an urgent matter, you have to open an SR with sopport.oracle.com
    If it's urgent, then why don't you provide information needed to answer the question.
    Which jdev version do you use?
    What is the use case?
    To answer your question: A look into the docs http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E35521_01/web.111230/e16182/bcadvvo.htm#sm0341 and http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E35521_01/web.111230/e16182/bcadvvo.htm#sm0338 holds the answer to it.

  • How to convert an Object to XML definition

    Hi all,
    A quick question I want to convert an instance of an object
    (including it's properties) to XML. I have read the doco on
    SimpleXMLEncoder whixh states that : "The SimpleXMLEncoder class
    take ActionScript Objects and encodes them to XML. Use default
    serialization. "
    Will this class do the job? if so the example code does not
    really demonstrate it clearly that it will. And I haven´t been
    able to get it to work.
    If this is not the Class to use is there another or do I have
    to write my own class?
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi Tim,
    Thanks for the quick reply. I tried your code above and the
    compiler tells me I was missing 1 Argument for (an instance of XML
    Docuement it looks like):
    var myEncoder:SimpleXMLEncoder = new SimpleXMLEncoder();
    And 2 Arguments for :
    var myXML:XMLNode = myEncoder.encodeValue(myobject);
    I ended up creating this missing parameters as follows and
    got the result I was looking for. Does this look right to you?
    var rootXML:XMLNode = new
    XMLNode(XMLNodeType.DOCUMENT_TYPE_NODE,"Root");
    var myQname:QName = new QName("namspace","local");
    var myXMLDocument:XMLDocument = new XMLDocument();
    var myEncoder:SimpleXMLEncoder = new
    SimpleXMLEncoder(myXMLDocument);
    var myXML:XMLNode =
    myEncoder.encodeValue(objectToEncode,myQname,rootXML);
    trace (myXML.toString());
    var myRealXML:XML = new XML(myXML.toString());
    trace ("------------");
    trace (myRealXML.toXMLString());
