How to understand "CSV network"

my understanding is like:
suppose you have a 2 node Hyper-v cluster. Normally, the active node in the cluster should have Direct I/O to the VHD file stored in the CSV on a SAN. However, SAN connection may be lost on this node which could prevent the node’s I/O
to the CSV. In this scenario, the active node would try to communicate through the "CSV Network" to the passive node on which the physical connection (say it's iSCSI HBA) to the SAN storage is still good.  The network the
active node use in such scenario is called a "CSV netowrk"?
Am i understanding it right?

  • How to Make Wirless Network SECURE

I am running my desktop hard line to a comcast modem which runs XP Pro. My Laptop which is running Vista is set up wireless via the WRT54GS Linksys Router.
The wireless network is running great but it is identified as UNSECURED!
After three 30 minute waits last night, 2 disconnects when I was not understanding them ( not a computer whiz but I do ok) and 1 live chat tech that copy and pasted the directions on how to set it up but not how to make it secure and then a quick disconnect    .
Can anyone tell me exactly HOW TO MAKE THIS NETWORK SECURED and WHAT computer shall I use to perform this?
Thank you for any help you can give me,

**No, that secures your router's wireless settings.
    or
Is this the only method to secure the network?
With some investigation I can find have found the following:
If I right click on my Network Icon in my tool bar and then click Connect to Network and then right click on the Network and right click Properties I get a box with the following:
Tab for connection and a tab for security with pull down bars which can be changed...
    1) Security Types -No Authentication (open), shared, wpa2 personal, wpa personal, wpa2 enterprise, wpa enterprise and 802.1x
    2) Encryption Types -WEP
Current settings on my laptop Linksys wireless network security is
    Security Type- OPEN
    Encryption- NONE
sBatch when I perform the WPA on my desktop my laptop must be off or not on the network correct?
Doesn't matter, once you change the security settings onthe router, you will be prompted for the settings to reconnect to it.
Has anyone found the LinkSys hyperlink for setting the WRT54GS router as SECURED?
Define "secured".  Wired, only physical connection have access.
Wireless, once you add WPA or WEP (WPA is better) it's secured.

  • How to Identify the Network Topology being used for a running ForeFront TMG Stand Alone array?

    Hello Experts,
My client has decided to move their datacenter  from one location to other including the ForeFront TMG servers which are being used as Reverse Proxy and TMG Gateway  in DMZ environment.
I need to know the network topology used for this configuration so that I could chose the same topology when creating new TMG environment at new datacenter. Here are some details :
    1. There are 2 TMG servers configured in a DMZ Workgroup in Stand Alone array.
    2. Both servers have 3 NIC attached to them. (one has all public IPs configured, another one has internal IP address and the third one has Management IP which is used to connect the server via RDP).
    3. There are more than 50 websites published via this standalone array.
I am very new to Forefront TMG technology and need to know the Topology used to create such environment.
    Thanks
    Lalit

    Hi,
According to your description, you can use the 3-leg perimeter network template and choose which network adapter connects to the LAN, which network adapter connects to the external  network and which network adapter connects to the DMZ.
Did you set up TCP/IP settings for the three NICs? If not, please refer to the link below:

  • Dedicated CSV Network and Single iSCSI 10 GB Link?

I just need some information on including a CSV dedicated Network or if that is over kill?  Designing a 2012 R2 environment with 4 blades for host.  On the back end we have two modules for redundancies that give us 8 usable NICs.  That are
then routed through two redundant switches.  All 10 GB to the switch, etc.....
    Management Network
    VM Network (Client Data)
    CSV Network
    Live Migration Network
    Cluster Heartbeat Network
    iSCSI (SAN)
    Backup Network
Question for all my Hyper-V peers is this, I understand the reasoning behind the CSV Network.  Allowing data to move between the four host if one of the SAN networks goes down.  However, is it really needed?  If we use it I plan to just use
the Live Migration Network as the CSV Network.
So, what do you think?  Should I keep the CSV Network and just combine it with the Live Migration Network and then make sure that network card is set to the lowest priority?
One more question.  Our current design gives us a 10 GB iSCSI connection.  Again on the back plane it is redundant and connected to redundant switches.  The only problem I see I will have is since the Host sees only one network that I will get
warnings that I don't have redundancy?  So I should need to worry about MPIO and just ignore the warnings?
Kristopher Turner | Not the brightest bulb but by far not the dimmest bulb.

    This looks good. The published
best practices guide recommends min. 5 networks, so you're good.
About iSCSI and MPIO, you will need MPIO if there's more than 1 path between the initiator (your server using the iSCSI LUN) and the target (the SAN that's unmasking the LUN). So, if you have 1 iSCSI NIC on the Hyper-V host (initiator) and 1 iSCSI NIC on
the SAN, there's no need for MPIO, since there's 1 path. If you have 2 iSCSI NICs on the host, and 2 iSCSI NICs on the SAN, you have 4 paths between that particular initiator and target. Depending on the SAN vendor you may have to manually spell out the 4
path in MPIO config (simply pointing out the IPv4 address of each of the 4 NICs. You do not NIC team or port channel iSCSI NICs. Installing MPIO will require a reboot. Default MPIO algorithm is round robin, can be changed, but you rarely need to do so.

In my application export to csv open like a raw data in new tab.
    But other browsers working great!.
Need to open in a csv file or save it as a csv file.
Please suggest me. Thank you in advance!.

    Hi Adrian,
Why don't you try any another software for opening CSV files then Notepad ? According to my experience, you can use these softwares to open an CSV files and they are:-
    Microsoft Excel
    Open Office Calc
    Google Docs
Also there is an additional tool available known as CSV viewer. You may try this, download it from here http://www.csvviewer.com/
I've never used Notepad for opening CSV files, because sometimes it contains some symbols which are not not at all compatibile with Notepad.

  • How to search a network/external hard drive in finder?

I use my Macbook at work where I am required to save all files I work on to a network hard drive on our server. I also have to be able to find and access files from the network drive for customers. In Snow Leapord I had the ability to type in the search bar in finder and it would search the entire network drive and find what I was looking for very quickly. Lots of people at work access the network drive, and every one of them has a different sense of organization. The ability to search is an absolute must in order to find anything. After upgrading to Lion, I discovered that the ability to search a networked or external hard drive has been removed. Lion only allows me to search my local hard drive in my Macbook. Does anyone know how to search a network hard drive in Lion? If not I am going to have to eat the 30 bucks and downgrade back to Snow Leopard. I have scoured through every little preference and option and have found nothing that even sounds remotely like it has anything to do with the search feature. Anyone please help, if not I am going to have to break out the time machine backups and remove this broken os from my computer.

system preferences, spotlight, privacy, add the network or external hard drive and then remove it from the privacy list. it should start to reindex this drive. You'll experience some slowness while this is happening and depending on how big your network is, it might take a really long time. But after that, you should be able to search in them as well. You can also organize what types of files show first so you can navigate to them easier.
    hope this helps

    Hi Priya,
    Check this code
Yhe logic used here is as follows,
Get all the data into an internal table in the simple format ie: a row with one field contains an entire line
After getting the data, we split each line of the table on every occurrence of the delimiter (comma in your case)
Here, I have named the fields as field01, field02 etc, you could use your own names according to your requirement
    parameters: p_file(512).

  • How to save CSV file in application server while making infospoke

How to save CSV file in application server to be used as destination while making infospoke.
    Please give the steps.........

    Hi
If you want to load your flatfile from Application server, then you need to trasfer your file from your desktop(Computer) to Application server by using FTP.
    Try using ARCHIVFILE_CLIENT_TO_SERVER Function module.
You Just need to give thesource path and the target path
goto SE37 t-code , which is Function module screen, give the function name ARCHIVFILE_CLIENT_TO_SERVER, on click F8 Execute button.
for path variable give the file path where it resides like C:\users\xxx\desktop\test.csv
for target path give the directory path on Application server: /data/bi_data
remember the directory in Server starts with /.
U have to where to place the file.
Otherwise use 3rd party tools to connect to ur appl server like : Core FTP and Absolute FTP in google.
    Otherwise...
Goto the T.code AL11. From there, you can find the directories available in the Application Server.
For example, if you wanna save the file in the directory "DIR_HOME", then you can find the path of the directories in the nearby column. With the help of this, you can specify the target path. Specify the target path with directory name followed by the filename with .CSV extension.
    Hope this helps

  • How to Understand AWR Report

    Hi
    How to understand AWR report?

    Hi,
first of all, you need to understand things that this report is about -- like wait events, DB time, CPU time, etc. If you are familiar with these things, the rest is easy.
There are also some articles about reading AWR reports in my blog, including some examples: http://savvinov.com/awr/

I entered the wrong password for a wifi network at my uncle's house and I can't figure out how to re-enter the password. Or how to forget the network so I am printed to re-enter the password.

The MacBook keeps a list of all wireless networks you connected. Go to System Preferences > Network > Advanced, and remove this wireless network from "Preferred networks". Then, try to connect again to this network. Anyway, your computer should ask you for the password if it wasn't typed properly

  • How to understand the way OBIEE implements outer joins?

    Hello guys
I have a few scenarios where I have to implement outer joins and inner joins between dimensions and facts..
There are 2 ways as far as I know that allows me to implement outer joins in BMM layer.
1, Join the Logical dim table A to Logical Fact table B using outer join. The modeling will look like the below:
    A Dim ---outer------B fact -----------inner----C Dim
By this design, the query that selects columns from all 3 tables will look at this:
select columns from ((B fact inner joins C on key1 = key2) left outer joins on A dim) on key3=key4)..
2, Join logical dim table A to fact table B inside the LTS of fact B by mapping the LTS B to dim A using outer join. then join fact B to C:
B fact (mapped to fact B outer join Dim A) ------------inner -------C dim
By this design, the query that selects columns from all 3 tables will look at this instead:
select columns from C, B left outer join A on key1=key2 where key3=key4
Comparing these 2 queries, the first one seems to do inner joins first and then outer join the result set to Dim A, the second query seems to outer join Dim A first and the result set inner joins to Dim C..
I ran the same report using these 2 different designs, and the data comes out very different. The report of the first query is much smaller than the report of the second query...
Can anyone help me understand how OBIEE understands outer joins? The second query is so far giving the right result, however, I can't get rid of the outer join in the query even if not selecting columns from Dim A, which is impacting the performance of other reports without Dim A.
Your inputs will be greatly appreciated
    Thanks
