How to use boot.properties to bypass username and password entry in WLST while connecting to server?

I'm currently writing a script that starts managed servers through WLST and I want it to avoid having the user enter their username and password similar to how startManagedWebLogic.sh does when a boot.properties file exists in the security directory of the server.
Currently, the way my script is set up is that it starts up WLST and enters the connect command, where it requests the username and password. The admin server URL is pulled from a config file used for the script.
Does anyone know how to supply the boot.properties file into WLST to have it automatically use the values in there?  I do not want to have to save the values in plain text, nor do I want to have to create a new file to store them if it isn't necessary.  I've read this thread weblogic.system.BootIdentityFile not working with WLST and tried copying boot.properties to domain home but didn't have any luck and still had to enter username and password.  I have also tried looking into how startManagedWebLogic.sh pulls the values from the boot.properties but was unable to clearly identify how this is done.  Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Brian

Examples are presented here: Middleware Snippets: Starting and Stopping a Java EE Environment when using WebLogic
The examples use the Node Manager and Admin Server to start the managed server. To start the AdminServer nmStart is used. Note that boot.properties (in ${DOMAIN_HOME}/servers/${ADMIN_SERVER_NAME}/security) must exist in order to start a server with nmStart.
Next you can use, for example, the ServerLifeCycleRuntimeMBean to start the managed server (in this case the Node Manager and the Admin Server will make sure a boot.properties and startup.properties are propagated to the right directory ${DOMAIN_HOME}/servers/${SERVER_NAME}/data/nodemanager.
When the Admin Server is not available you can also use nmStart for the managed server. In this case you have to create boot.properties and startup.properties yourself by using nmGenBootStartupProps and copy them to the ${DOMAIN_HOME}/servers/${SERVER_NAME}/data/nodemanager directory.

Having the exact same problem with connecting ML and Snow Leopard machines to a Windows 8.1 machine. Oddly enough, connecting and copying to/from works perfectly from a Mavericks machine, despite the problems reported about Mavericks regarding the exact opposite. An old thread, but did you find a solution?

  • Using CreateObject for Webservice with username and password

When using createObject() to call a web service how do I pass
in the user name and password required by the service?
If I do a cfdump on the webservice object I see it has
setUserName() and setPassword() methods but they don't seem to be
    working.
I also see there are properties named "USERNAME_PROPERTY" and
"PASSWORD_PROPERTY" but I can't seem to modify them in code. I
    suppose they are protected.
    example:
    ws = createObject("webservice", "
    http://url.to/wsdl.xml",
    "serviceport");
    ws.setUserName("myawesomeusername");
    ws.setPassword("myawesomepassword");
    myReturn = ws.serviceMethodCall("bla");

FYI Adobe: this is VERY limiting, I have to use a web service

requires the use of createObject() but at the same time the web

<cfinvoke>. Looks like I will be writing a compiled custom

According to the docs you can provide a username and password
by passing a struct containing these items to CreateObject

If you like cfinvoke use it. You can get return values by
using the returnVariable argument. I would assume mutliple output
parameters would be returned in a struct.

  • How do I save more than one username and password for a site?

    <blockquote>Locking duplicate thread.<br>
    Please continue here: [[/questions/918629]]</blockquote>
I manage two online calendar accounts under one website (both account admin centers actually have their own URL but the main root of the webpage is the same). My "user ID" (which is my e-mail address) is the same for both accounts.
Firefox used to associate the user ID and password with the ENTIRE URL so, in effect, it would remember them for BOTH admin centers. Now it seems to only remember the main root webpage (www.samplepage.com instead of www.samplepage.com/adminloginA).
How do I get it to remember the ENTIRE URL instead of just the root? I need it to remember both usernames and passwords.
    Thanks!

That is not possible with the Firefox password manager. You can only save a user name and its password once for a specific domain, so if the name is the same then it doesn't work.

  • How do I save more than one username and password for one website?

First, let me say that I'm extremely irritated that I just spent 15 minutes writing a very detailed question and researching my OS, browser version, etc. only to have it all erased because I didn't "verify" my e-mail before I started typing my question. Firefox: please fix your sign-up and question posting process so this doesn't happen. It should retain your info for a smooth process after you verify. What a waste of time and effort when I'm already frustrated.
ACTUAL QUESTION: I manage two online calendars under one root URL (www.samplepage.com/calendar1 and www.samplepage.com/calendar2). My e-mail address is the user ID for both accounts but the passwords are different.
FF used to associate your username and password with the ENTIRE URL but now it only associates with the root (www.samplepage.com). So, for me, it will only remember one password.
How can I get it to remember BOTH passwords?
    Thanks!

  • How can we disable " XDB Requires a username and password"?

    Hello,
I've just performed an Apex 4 installation on top of a DB 11.2.0.2.
    All is fine.
No problem fine with FF, IE and Safari, but with Chrome I always have a pop up saying " The server XXXX: port at XDB requires a username and password".
How can I disable that, or fix it definitively?
    Thanks
    Fred

    Sure.
On my system Anonymous and XDB account were already unlocked and both used the same password.
I simply executed the PL/SQL block that you can find here: http://www.apexexplorer.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/XDB-Password-Issue.pdf
    I bounced the listener.
    Hope that help

Do you mean you kept the same account but you only updated your AppleID?
Just log out and log back in with new ID.
Note that the AppleID is embedded into the item at purchase and cannot be changed.
However, when you change your AppleID, it will link the old account name to the new account name so you will not have any problems updating apps using the new AppleID.

  • HT3728 how do i reset up my macbook username and password the computer has been cleaned out and reset to original factory settings

I just had my macbook pro cleaned out and restored to it's original facory settings. i cannot access set up assistant to configure my username and password for the computer. it does not recognize my old username and password and I can't find where to enter this information.

Unless you erased the drive then reinstalled Mavericks you will not see the Setup Assistant to configure your initial admin account. I have no idea just what you did. But to reset to factory state means you had to first install the version of OS X that came with the computer on the gray labeled DVDs. For your model that would have been a version of Leopard. If you have a Snow Leopard DVD then you can use that instead. The process is:
    Clean Install of Snow Leopard
Be sure to make a backup first because the following procedure will erase
the drive and everything on it.
         1. Boot the computer using the Snow Leopard Installer Disc or the Disc 1 that came
with your computer.  Insert the disc into the optical drive and restart the computer.
After the chime press and hold down the  "C" key.  Release the key when you see
a small spinning gear appear below the dark gray Apple logo.
         2. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue
button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
After DU loads select the hard drive entry from the left side list (mfgr.'s ID and drive
size.)  Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.  Set the number of
partitions to one (1) from the Partitions drop down menu, click on Options button
and select GUID, click on OK, then set the format type to MacOS Extended
(Journaled, if supported), then click on the Apply button.
         3. When the formatting has completed quit DU and return to the installer.  Proceed
with the OS X installation and follow the directions included with the installer.
         4. When the installation has completed your computer will Restart into the Setup
Assistant. Be sure you configure your initial admin account with the exact same
username and password that you used on your old drive. After you finish Setup
Assistant will complete the installation after which you will be running a fresh
install of OS X.  You can now begin the update process by opening Software
Update and installing all recommended updates to bring your installation current.
Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.
Once you have 10.6.8 running you can enter the App Store with your Apple ID and re-download Mavericks to upgrade to 10.9.2.

  • How do I disable administrator username and password entry to access ix4-300d

With the recent version 4.1.102.29716 update, I am now FORCED to enter a username and password to get into my "home based" ix4-300d NAS.  This has already been a MAJOR pain for my nedia server setup, in that I am no longer able to create a network drive to one of several NAS folders on to my home network.
My question therefore is, how do I DISABLE the function of having to enter an administrator username and password to gain entry into my ix4-300d?
    Thanks,
    Bill

    No hazzle, just do it.
This is only for admin purposes. You are still able to place your media into individual user shares or put it in the public area where they will be accessible for everyone, even if you set 'security' on.

  • Username and Password for Pushes to a Team Foundation Server

    Hello,
I have a team foundation server with a collection of projects, all of which use Git for their version control.  One of my projects, is basically a bunch of Excel files with macros, so I do all my source code editing in Excel's VBA editor and not in
Visual Studio.  I want to push my local changes to the server using Git Gui, but when I try to do so, the gui asks me for a username and password.  I am the sole administrator of this server and all its projects, so I should have access to the username
and password, but I have no idea what they are or where to find/change them online.  Does anyone know where I can find this information?
    Thanks in advance!

  • Will the new version have capability to allow me to use Fingerprint for username and password entry?

I need to HP SimplePass Identity protection. This use of fingerprint technology allows sign in to websites by swipe of fingerprint and supports multiple users. Firefox supported that technology at one time but dropped support. Will the new version support it again? I quit using Firefox when the support ended and will not use it again until that functionality is restored.

HP Simplepass never stopped working for Firefox. I'm using it on Nightly 31.0a1 and it's working fine. If it does stop working, then it's HP's fault for not pushing an update to their extension.

Nobody has asked this question in the same way it seems.

Do you mean names and passwords in the Password Manager or do you mean that you are logged on automatically to websites after closing and restarting Firefox?
There is a difference between remembering the name and password in the Password Manager and a "remember me" check box on a web page.<br />
The latter usually involves the creation of a special "remember me" cookie that is stored on your computer and that is send to the server.<br />
If that "remember me" cookie is removed or gets corrupted or is not send to the server then the server won't remember you and you need to sign in once again.
