How to use crm blueprint
Hi, I'm new to using blueprint in creating the UI/portal page.
Can anybody direct me on how to use blueprints to create buttons, tables, textfields, etc, and how to process its events.

Hi All,
I have a specific requirement to restrict user while he/she tries to save a record. It appears that if that restrictions are implemented the save logic for an entity has to be changed because there are some validation regarding relationship management in SAP system. SO I need to bypass that validation to allow some users of specific(Marketting) role to save the entity record bypassing that validation. here I am planning to use the CRM authorization objects. But dont know how to use these and which authorization object to refer.

You might need to create a Custom authorization object and then use it. Else you can create one Z table and maintain the User ID of all users. The mainatin one field with flag and set it to X for the user that are aloowed to save the transaction.
Also once you maintain the table, generate the table maintenance so that it becomes easier for future use.

I've looked into your reply.
For your first query, you have to provide identification numbers. It is like an identification for the external systems when you create the same.
You do not have to pass Guid, since inside the code logic, if it is fresh insert there will be GUIDs generated also, which will cause the confusion. Let the system generate the GUID for fresh insert. You provide the identification numbers.
For your second query you need to provide the sales area data in the following segment
E101RMXIF_PR_MATERIAL_SALES of Idoc CRMXIF_PRODUCT_MATERIAL_SAVE01. Also kindly make sure that you have done the necessary customising for sales area of products. Hoping the 2nd error comes during the update of product data.

I need your help to able to use LSMW on CRM for bulk master data creation. Below is described my detailed requirement; -
We have CRM 2007 integrated with SAP ISU (ECC6.0). As per business process all Business Master Data (BP details, Business Agreement details etc) and Technical Master Data (Connection Object, PoD etc.) is created in CRM and then it is replicated in ISU. We are going to start Assembly Test soon. Now we need to have all master data in place. Tool we want to use is LSMW.
Now can you help me right from scratch on how to use LSMW for bulk master data creation in CRM?
Please give me documents / links etc that is relevant.

What is LSMW?
Legacy System Migration Workbench or LSMW is SAP standard program that can be used to easily load / change master data or transactions in SAP without any programming at all. It can be used to upload data at cutover, such as: open orders, contracts, materials, vendors, stock on hand. It can also be used in a production system to make changes to existing data. Very limited authorization checks are available on the transaction, so the use of it must be very well controlled.
One input file can be used to create all the views of the material master. For all the material types. Even if different views and fields are used for the different materials.
Steps to take
1. Create text file with data to be loaded
2. Set up and run LSMW

2) then you have to install/unjar it
To Install: Double-click the jar file bpcatalog-ee5-ea-0.6-installer.jar, or run 'java -jar bpcatalog-ee5-ea-0.6-installer.jar'
3)This creates a folder bpcatalog-ee5-ea-0.6/ which has the contents of the blueprints solutions catalog, including the JSF component libraries.
4) then if you want to use a JSF component library such as bp-ui-14.jar which contains the calendar component, then move/copy the bp-ui-14.jar to your application that you want to us it in.
Then you use it like any JSF component library (see the links I put on previous posting if need more detail on that)
I think the confusion you were having is that you were using the installation jar bpcatalog-1.0.1_01-installer.jar instead of the JSF component library bp-ui-14.jar in your app?

What would you like to implement. You have a full and well detailed description about GDP functionality in PCUI Cook Book Section 5.2.4 (around 8 pages). You also have the test PCUI application PCFM_TEST_GDP if you want to check more details.

Hi gurus,
I am using the CRM Survey Suite to create a Survey form.
I am supposed to create a PBO through which the OTR Texts will be displayed based on conditional checks.
I have also created the OTR Texts via transaction Sotr_edit and I am able to retrieve them via FM sotr_get_concept.
Pl. let me know how I can show them on the web page, i.e. my survey form.
I have searched and found that they can be used readily in BSP but how to use them in a Survey Form.

I am not sure whether we can assign it at the screen properties level. But you can do one thing, call the FM SOTR_READ_TEXT_WITH_KEY by passing the context of the SOTR you want to read and get the text associated back in the ENTRY structure.
You can have a I/O field which is output only on the screen. And in the program you can assign the OTR text to this I/O field so that the OTR text will be displayed.

You can create your data source program in your source system such as R/3, CRM, etc.
There is template function that can be used for your program:
RSAX_BIW_GET_DATA_SIMPLE.
You can use that template, and alter the code as your business requirement.

Raghava Vakada.You can define one as a "Before" or "After" method if that is usable for you. (defined in tab Methods for Activity steps)
Otherwise there is also the step flag "Advance with dialog" (tab Details on Activity steps, but the tab it is found on depends on your version) which allows one user to seamlessly execute two consecutive tasks.
So depending on your real need there may be several options available. If all that is needed is that the same user can execute the two tasks then Advance with Dialog is perhaps the best choice. If the user then cancels execution of the second activity the work item is available for execution. If you define an After method and the user cancels execution the work item has still been completed since its (main) method has been completed. -

Using CRM ACE for the specific requirement.
Hi,
We are implementing the CRM ACE for the SPecific authorization requirement.
I will explain our Requirement in brief,
1)For Accounts(BP), only Bp's who are maintained in the Relationships tab other than contact person should be able to
edit that account. Others wont even have authorizations to view that account.
2)For Opportunities, only Bp's who are maintianed in the sales team will have access to edit that opportunity, others wont
have access to even view that opportunity.
3)For activities , Only Bp's who are maintained for the Activity Partner's will have acces to edit that activity.
As this cannot be done using the normal authorization concept,we are using the CRM ACE.
we have defined all the rule id's, AFO class, AFU class, OBF Class, and Right id, Work package and user group.
Is there any other better way than CRM ACE ?
If you worked any such kind of scenario in past can you send me those details.

How PI uses technical system information in SLD
Hi Experts,
I know there are business system and technical system registered and associated in SLD.
Especially for those SAP systems, in our normal PI scenario, how PI uses the technical information which was registered under Technical System in SLD since we need again configure the host/port and credentials details in the sender/receiver channel in ID.
Or SLD is just one central place for collecting all the technical information together only for life cycle management?
There is nothing more to do with the Tech System (SLD), PI only needs the business system in scenario.

Let me provide an example to describe the need fot technical systems.
Think of an outbound scenario : SAP ECC/CRM -> PI -> Third Party (ex: SOAP)
Now just think how PI will identify what the sender is (ECC/CRM or 3rd party) if the TS is not registered in SLD? The Business Systems are logical systems whcih points to Technical Systems (application systems that are installed in system landscape). TS hold the information about the actual systems, its host, IP, clients etc.
Now based on the source BS which points to TS, the target binding is done in Receiver Determination pipeline step. Now if there is no TS attached to the BS how can PI identify whether ECC or CRM is sending the data and hence will not be able to identify the relevant target for the source.
Think of Business Systems as sitting on top of Technical Systems, and when the landsape details are not known for third party systems we use Business Component/Business Service.

How to use batch files to send the load from ODC to UCM?

We're trying to do this along this week and, until now, we couldn't figure out how to use batch files containing metada on ODC and commit the output files to UCM.
So these are our specs:
VM 1
ODC - 10gR3
OS - Windows XP 32 bits SP3
DB - Oracle DB 11.2
VM 2
No ODC
UCM 11.1.1.6
OS - Enterprise Linux Enterprise Linux Server release 5.5 (Carthage)
We've opened a ticket with Oracle Support to know how we should do this. The number is SR 3-6108348211.
Let me try to explain what we want to do:
1 - we have a batch file with all metadata of many files from UCM
2 - we want to use this file in ODC, so the application will convert the images and commit them to UCM
3 - we should see all these files, their metadata, thumbnails and related content in UCM

But we don't know how to do the link between ODC and UCM. The Oracle Support says it is necessary to do some customization. In the books I could not find any info about how to do, just generic information or how to use ODC.
Is there a way (without customization) to do that? Can anyone give us a step-by-step guide?

If you only want content to be converted to pdf, then you should already have that with your items checked into UCM (if you have IBR enabled).
if you really want to feed content into ODC using a batchfile, my first thought would be to create a transformation utility/app that will convert your batchfiles to the expected ODC import server folder job format. then you'll have to move or map the content to match.
Again, without knowing the exact issue/business requirement you're trying to work through, I'd say a redesign of your ingestion process may be in order.
If you feed content directly into ODC through any supported ODC method (watch folder, email, scanner, fax, etc), then you'll be able to use everything ootb as you'll be able to auto-commit directly into UCM or add an indexing step and manual commit to UCM.
ODC is basically a front end for indexing and extra ingestion options to your content repo.
IPM is basically the same, but it includes some extra process-related details (process metadata, process integrations/bpel/bpm, other system integrations/ebs/crm, etc). I don't feel that IPM would help with the transformation-specific question you've put out there.
