How to use javax.swing in Pocket PC

I want to write an application with Swing GUI interface and run on my Pocket PC (iPAQ H3870). It is possible?
I am using Jeode VM now.
Thanks.

I ran across a product called CrEme, that claims to support swing 1.1.1. I used the evaluation and it seemed to work much like Jeode. I never tried working with swing with it. Here is a link with information about CrEme:

  • How to create a calculator by using javax swing

    I try to us Javax swing make some buttons like 0 - 9 then input some numbers by using those number like a calculator. But I only can get numbers no more than 9.
    Please help me.

    How do you store the number the user enters? If it's in a string and the previous value was eg "1" and the user enters "2" you get "12" with a simple concatenation: val += input.
    OTOH, if you work with doubles and the previous value was 1.0 and the user enters 2.0 by pressing the button you get 12.0 by multiplying 1.0 with 10 and adding 2.0: val = 10*val + input.

  • Don't know how to use the swing timer

    Hi there,
    I did this stupid game for training purposes: There are 3 buttons, 2 of them are "correct", 1 exits the program and you lost.
    It works so far but when clicking the "wrong" button I thought of changing the frame to red, let the program wait for another second and only then closing the window. But somehow that doesn't work. I understand that I have to use the timer class, but somehow I don't really know how.
    Thanks for helping.
    Modify the program of Exercise 3 so that only one button exits the program. If the user clicks on any of the other two
    buttons, the frame just changes color. The user keeps clicking until the "loosing button" is clicked. The user's goal
    is to click as many times as possible.

    Rather than pass the Timer constructor this, which would be the JFrame itself, thus resulting in the action handler for the buttons being invoked again, you should probably pass it a whole different ActionListener instance that performs the precise action you want to happen a second later.
    And actually, you should probably do that for all the buttons as well -- give each an inner class implementing ActionListener so you can control the behavior of each button, and don't make the JFrame subclass implement ActionListener. Furthermore, I'd advise against subclassing JFrame.

  • How to use javax.* packages in Applet?

    If I want use javax.media.* in an applet and hope there's no need for the visitors installing JMF in their machines,

    Hi rapy_xjb!
    It's troublesome, would need to deploy applet and all dependent classes! A lot of files to download (in jar file or not)! Think in benefits to user after installing Java plug-in. My lemma: Java and diamonds are forever!

  • Help ! inaccurate time recorded using javax.swing.timer

    Hi All,
    I am currently trying to write a stopwatch for timing application events such as loggon, save, exit ... for this I have created a simple Swing GUI and I am using the javax.swing.timer and updating a the time on a Jlabel. The trouble that I am having is that the time is out by up to 20 seconds over a 10 mins. Is there any way to get a more accruate time ?? The code that I am using is attached below.
    private Timer run = new Timer(1000, new ActionListener() {
    public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent evt) {
    timeTaken.setText("<html><font size = 5><b>" + (df.format(timeHours)) + ":" + (df.format(timeMins)) + ":"
    + (df.format(timeSeconds++)) + "</b></font><html>");
    receordedTimeValue = ((df.format(timeHours)) + ":" + (df.format(timeMins)) + ":"
    + (df.format(timeSeconds)));
    if (timeSeconds == 60) {
    timeMins++;
    timeSeconds = 0;
    if (timeMins == 60) {
    timeHours++;
    timeMins = 0;

    To get more accurate time you should use the System.currentTimeMillis() method.
    Try this code :
    import java.util.*;
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.awt.event.*;
    import javax.swing.*;
    public class CountUpLabel extends JLabel{
         javax.swing.Timer timer;
         long startTime, count;
         public CountUpLabel() {
              super(" ", SwingConstants.CENTER);

              return(((hours<10)?"0"+hours:""+hours)+":"+((minutes<10)?"0"+minutes:""+minutes)+":"+((seconds<10)?"0"+seconds:""+seconds));
         public void start() {
              startTime = -1;
              timer.setInitialDelay(0);
              timer.start();
         public long stop() {
              timer.stop();
              return(count);
         public static void main(String[] args) {
              JFrame frame = new JFrame("Countdown");
              CountUpLabel countUp = new CountUpLabel();
              frame.getContentPane().add(countUp, BorderLayout.CENTER);
              frame.setBounds(200,200,200,100);

  • How to use the Zoom for Pocket PC 2003?

    I try to use the LabVIEW7.1 PDA module zoom feature in my Pocket PC 2003. But I can not make it works right. For example, if I try to zoom to rectangle, the graph does not draw in the selected rectangle.
    I attached my code.
    Attachments:
    sin.vi ‏48 KB

    Hello,
    I have taken a look at your vi and believe I understand your problem. The vi works if you allow the sine wave to draw to completion and then zoom in on a certain part of the graph. You cannot zoom while the graph is still drawing because the Zoom button click is not registered. Your program is looping inside the case structure for the run button so it does not see that the zoom button is pressed.
    Also, I see that when you click Zoom and then draw the sine wave, the wave is not drawn inside the selected area. The graph goes back to its default values. This behavior is because the x and y max and min are set inside the graph properties. Whether this is set by autoscaling or by setting the max and min in the graph properties page, these values overwrite the zoom rectangle values. In LabVIEW for the PC you can set max and min values programmatically through property nodes. However, property nodes are currently not supported in LabVIEW for PDA. So, unfortunately there is no current way to programmatically change the values so that the sine wave is drawn inside the selected zoom region.

  • How to use vector in JTable? Please help......

    Hi there
    I can use JTable using object array to manupulate data but it has a limitation of defining number of rows of the array. Alternatively i want to use vector. Anyone help me how to convert to using vector.
    Regards.
    mortoza, Dhaka

    hi,
    you could either use javax.swing.table.DefaultTableModel because this class uses a java.util.Vector for data storage or you could implements your own TableModel by extending javax.swing.table.AbstractTableModel.

  • Javax.swing.JTextPane - COLOR Problem

    Hi
    I am using javax.swing.JTextPane object to display text recieved from two servers.
    How can I make messages recieved from Server 1 to be in RED and while from Server 2
    to be in Green? i.e. the window should look...
    (red) Server 1 says ta ta
    (green) Server 2 says Hello

    javax.swing.JTextPane WINDOW;

    ..........// What code should I put here??? to make this message look RED??
    ..........// Color of previous text should remain as it is...
    WINDOW.setText(WINDOW.getText() + message1);An Example would be highly appreciated.
    Regards

    Hi,
    that is the wrong way - try this method in your JTextPane subclass
    public void appendText(String s,Color col) {
    StyledDocument sd = getStyledDocument();
    SimpleAttributeSet attr = new SimpleAttributeSet();
    StyleConstants.setForground(attr,col);
    try { sd.insertString(sd.getLength(),s,attr); }
    catch (BadLocationException e) {}
    } // end of methodand use it in your code like that
    WINDOW.appendText(message1,Color.red);
    hope that helps

  • How To Use Connection pooling with j2sdkee1.3?

    hi!
    How to use javax.sql.ConnectionPoolDataSource and
    javax.sql.PooledConnection with j2sdkee1.3.?
    In j2ee1.3's deployment tool,
    to specify the resource factories,
    javax.sql.ConnectionPoolDataSource is not available.
    Please Help me to use Connection pooling.
    Dhaya.

    Vendor implementations usually have a fair amount of optimization. For J2EE apps, my concern would be using your pool in transactional calls. When you make a transactional call across several beans/methods, the vendor's pool makes sure that you get the same connection each time you get a connection from the pool so that if you want to rollback the work (in case an error occurs), you can. Does your current connection pool support this?

  • Problem Loading an Image with javax Swing from a JApplet

    First of all, i use JCreator as java creater and have the newest version of java sdk version.
    Now i need to load an image from the harddrive on which the JApplet is located. I need to do this from inside the JApplet. I have put my pictures in a map 'images' which is located in the same directory as the classes + htm file. It works from inside JCreator, but as soon as i open the normal htm it just WON'T load that image (grmbl).
    Here is my code for loading the image:
    public BufferedImage loadImage (String filename, int transparency)
         Image image;
         if (app)
              image = Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getImage(("./images/"+filename));
         else
              String location = "";
              location = "./images/"+filename;
              image = Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().getImage(location);
         MediaTracker mediaTracker = new MediaTracker(new Container());
         mediaTracker.addImage(image, 0);
         try
              mediaTracker.waitForID(0);
         catch (Exception e)
    Could anybody help me out here??
    I tried a url already using getCodeBase() or getDocumentBase() but that gives an error because it cannot find those if using a JApplet.

    Why don't you use javax.swing.ImageIcon? If you already have a flag telling if it's an application or applet, use the getDocumentBase() to base the URL in the applet part only.

    You should update your DOM document to represent the changes that you want made.
    Then, using the Transformation API you simply transform your document onto a stream representing your file. Something like this:
    Transformer transformer = TransformerFactory.newInstance().newTransformer();
    transformer.setOutputProperty(OutputKeys.INDENT, "yes");
    // TODO - set indentation amount!
    Source source = new DOMSource(dom);
    Result result = new StreamResult(file);
    transformer.transform(source, result);Hope this helps.
