How to use RLS with complex numbers as the input?
I import a file which have complex numbers, and I want to filter it using complex RLS adaptive filter, but it always freeze at the filtering and update then it returns one value in the matrix and all the other numbers are NaN, so how can I fix this.
The second thing is when I use FBLMS, it always return error 42020 unless I specify the filter length= number of the input which is huge number, so how do I specify normal filter length.

This page has several links to other important factors of what filter to choose. Under Computational Resource Requirements, it lists the memory usage for different filter types. RLS is the most memory intensive, which could be causing the freeze. Maybe try a LMS to see if this helps.

How to use multiple patterns for masking/format the input text

I am using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.5 and i have a requirement where i need to format my input Text value in these below patterns:-

ShahFor the validation you should be able to use one regular expression where you add the logical or (|) (check the doc http://docs.oracle.com/javase/6/docs/api/java/util/regex/Pattern.html) between the groups. If none of the patterns matches you have an error.
For the for formatting I'm not sure you can use only one expression.
I suggest to write one method which does the checking on and the formatting may be using an array of patterns to check and iterate the patterns in a loop. Once you found a match you can read the needed format from another array (or an other dimension if you prefer to use a multidimensional array).

The manual states that complex numbers can be used with EXP(x), but it does not mention anything about using complex numbers for integration. Edit: I missed some text in the manual, see below.
As far as I can tell it cannot do integration with complex numbers. (The 50g can do this.)

I'm working on creating a SVD class using complex numbers. I have an adaptation of the Jama ( http://math.nist.gov/javanumerics/jama/ ) implementation coded which works great with complex numbers with only a real part, but fails when the imaginary is present. I also coded up a port of numerical recipes' ( http://www.nr.com ) implementation, but am unable to get it to converge. I'm 99.9% sure that the problem does not exist in my complex number class as it has worked fine up until now.
Anyhow, what I'm wondering is if anyone has a Java SVD for complex matrices that I could look at and/or use?

mIt wasn't working when I tried it a few months ago. I found the bug in the database - it's been long-standing. Given that Sun doesn't appear to be supporting Java3D very well, I doubt it'll ever be fixed.

I am working with a network analyzer. I have arrays made of 5 columns the first consisting of an integer and the next four consisting of complex numbers. I am converting the array into a spreadsheet string and then saving the file using the write characters to a file VI. That seems to work well as when I open the file in Excel all the data is there. However when I try to reverse the process, open file and convert back to array, I loose some of the data. Specifically the imaginary parts of my complex numbers are all going to zero. I have narrowed down the problem to be in the conversion from spreadsheet string to array and vice versa. I
think the problem may be with the 'format' input to the VI. I do not have an adequate resource for this so I am not sure what to put in to accomplish my task. Any takers?Hi Biz
I don't think there is a direct way of converting a complex number to a
string, so when you convert the array to a spreadsheet string, the
numbers would be converted to real data.
However, you could try separating the real and imaginary parts using the
"Numeric: Complex to Re/Im" function, and then store these - either in
separate files or in adjacent columns/rows in the same file. Then, when
you read in the data again, use the "Numeric: Re/Im to Complex" function
to put the two "halves" together.
If you actually want Excel to interpret the numbers as imaginary, then
you'll probably want to create a string for each complex number of the
form "Re + Im*i" (after separating the Re and Im parts), by using
"String:Format into String" with 2 numeric inputs and the format string
"%f+%fi".
Reading the data back into Labview then would require splitting the
string into the 2 pieces by using "Stringcan from String" with 2
numeric outputs (smae precision as original numbers specified by the 2
Default Value inputs) and the same format string "%f+%fi", and then using
the above-mentioned "Numeric: Re/Im to Complex" function. It worked for
me, so if you can't follow what I am describing, send me an email and I
can email you what I did (LV 5.1.1).

How to use Terminal with KeySpan USB serial adaptor cable?
I own a KeySpan model USA-19HS to use with our MacBookPro when working on clients networking equipment that require serial communication. I have used ZTerm with excellent luck, but it costs, and is yet another application that I dont really want. I would like to know if any one out there has exacing instructions on how to use Terminal with this adaptor. If I could write a file that had, say, the couple most common settings (9600-8-n-1, 57600-8-n-1, et cetera) that I could simply click on, to open a new Terminal window with those settings, then simply close that, and open a new window (apple+n) in order to get back to a default settings terminal window. All feedback is most appreciated.

1. Have you considered discussing this with Keyspan Support?
2. Have you read the section "OSX has Terminal.app - why do I need ZTerm?" on the ZTerm Home Page? That seems to explain why one needs an app like ZTerm.
3. A quick search of Keyspan's FAQ for your product and terminal doesn't yield much more than how to find the serial ports using Terminal.
Likewise, this Google search also yields little, and variants of that search of such weren't particularly help either.
It appears your inquiry seems to be a somewhat esoteric topic.
4. Apparently, ZTerm X is a bit long in the tooth and there's no Universal Binary for it. It sounds, however, like you've tried it running on your MBP under Rosetta, yes?
5. In researching alternatives to ZTerm for you, I note the followng:• The comment from "Reverb" on this page suggests C-Kermit or Kermit as a free alternative.

I was given an assingment, but have no idea where to begin. The assingment is to create a text file using notepad with all of my digital inputs and some how make those imputs show up on my digital indicators on my control pannel.

Open the existing VI with all the indicators.

Who made the program?
Does the code make sense so far?
Is it a statemachine or just a bunch of crisscrossed wires?
Where do you want to add the file read?
How should the file be read (after pressing a read button, at the start of the program ,etc.)
See how far you get!

I am trying to find out how to assign files with particular extensions to the appropriate software. At the moment when I create a file using Word it is apparently given the extension .docx but Word doesn't recognise its own files. How do I allocate the extension .docx to Word? There used to be a way of doing it, I think under "Preferences" but I can't seem to find it.

How to use Count with Date Parameters
Hello,
I am having issues using the Count() function in conjunction with date parameters.
This is a Siebel report and in my report I have 2 date parameters(From Date, To Date). In a nutshell I am basically trying to count Opportunities that has a start date within the given date period. However I don't see a reasonable way to put my date parameters within the Count() function. The reason being is that I need to have a huge chunk of code to convert the dates into a common format that can be compared, and it won't even fit within the code block in my rtf template. I am not even sure how to put multiple conditional statements inside a Count() function since all the examples I have seen are very simple.
Anyone have a suggestion on how to use Count() with date parameters?

I don't know Siebel - so I can't help you with that. If you get the correct format it is just

Otherwise the approach would probably need to use string function to get year/monthd/day from the date
and store it into a varialbe and compare later the same way

Potentially you can use the date functions such as xdofx:to_date to do the conversion

Help me!! How to use JavaScript with JSP ??
I am using JDeveloper and I created a screen in JSP which uses a bean for database connectivity and retriving info onto the page.
The page has a ListBox where list items are populated from the database.My requirement is
whenever the list is changed the page shuold be refreshed with the selected item info.
I tried to use 'JavaScript' for triggering the event with 'onChange' event of the ListBox.But the event is not getting invoked. I think JavaScript is not working with JSP.
Please help me with how to Use javaScript with JSP or any other alternative where I can meet my requirement.
I have one more question...I have gone through the JSP samples in OTN and I am trying do download the sample 'Travel servlet' which show list of countries...etc
I have also gone through the 'readme' but I don't know how to extract .jar file.

nullWe have a similar need. We have used Cold Fusion to display data from Our Oracle Database. We have a simple SElect Box in HTML populated with the oracle data. When someone selects say the State of Pennsylvania. then we have an On change event that runs a Javascript to go get all the cities in Pennsylvania.
Proble we are having is that inorder for the Javascript to work , we currently have to send all the valid data.
Do you know of any way to dynamically query the the Oracle database in Javascript
