How to use  session varables and dependent lovsin OAF?

Hi,
I have a requirement that
if supplier name is selected ,then supplier site and payment number lov must be dispayed according to
the selected supplier name.
how to achieve this,please suggest.

Hi,
Follow the following steps:
1. create a session variable Object at CO of your page af PFR
String ValueToBeSet = "hereIsYourRequiredValue"
pageContext.putSessionValueDirect("MySessionValue",ValueToBeSet);
Step 2. Now attache a CO to Lov Object.
write the following code at PFR of LOV CO.
Object ValueToBeSet = pageContext.putSessionValueDirect("MySessionValue");
// To avoid NullPointer
if(ValueToBeSet!=null) {
vo.setWhereClause("yourCriteria ="+ValueToBeSet.toString())
Haroon
}

    hi rachna,
    JSP has a default(implicit) session object...... use the getSession(true) method on the session object and then going u can either get or set attributes depending on the requirement
    That was in general and now with the issue u have got..... what u can do is that the u can create session for every user who logs in and when he/she tries to login again then u can probably check for the existing session object in the JSP and perform the logic as required..... any clarifications plzzzzzzz let me know
    Thanks n Regards

  • How to combine Session Facade and Transfer object?

    Hello All!
    I'm working on an enterprise application. Presentation layer is a stand alone client, business logic is build on the Glassfish v2.1 and MySQL is used as a database. The client is connection to the GlassFishj server remotely using EJBs.
    I have problems with business logic architecture.
    Here is the brief description of backend application architecture design:
    1. Session Facade pattern is used to simplify the client and application server interface and to provide application layers between backend (http://java.sun.com/blueprints/corej2eepatterns/Patterns/SessionFacade.html).
    2.Transfer Object pattern to define update transfer objects strategy in order to decrease network overhead during client and application server interactions and to provide version control for objects. Transfer objects are designed as simple java business serializable objects. (http://java.sun.com/blueprints/corej2eepatterns/Patterns/TransferObject.html)
    3. Originally the backend application consisted of three modules: users, storage and orders, but at the end I have decided to divide my application into the following parts - assortments, map, menu, orders, transactions, users.
    4. All MySQL database transactions are via JDBC using procedures. No use of entity beans.
    Questions:
    1. I have some doubts about using Session Facade and Transfer object patterns at the same time. At first I'd mike to cite the definitions of the patters from the SUN official web site.
    * Use a session bean as a facade to encapsulate the complexity of interactions between the business objects participating in a workflow. The Session Facade manages the business objects, and provides a uniform coarse-grained service access layer to clients.
    * Use a Transfer Object to encapsulate the business data. A single method call is used to send and retrieve the Transfer Object. When the client requests the enterprise bean for the business data, the enterprise bean can construct the Transfer Object, populate it with its attribute values, and pass it by value to the client.
    * So, if I use Transfer Object along with Session Facade, it makes some difficulties with object version control, because I 2 or
    3 transfer objects controls with the 1 bean class. The best option for Transfer object Pattern is that each transfer object should have its own bean class to provide ability of object's version control. In the case it can bring the network overhead because of frequent remote calls caused by the large number of the bean classes.
    * So, should I use the both patterns? If yes, how to manage the interaction the patterns. If no, which one to use.
    2. E.g. I have a huge list of the Order objects and each Order object consists of other complicated objects. So, would I have trouble to transfer that list over network? If yes, how to manage it.
    Thank you!

    I would simply recommend establishing a service tier. Your services should be stateless. You can go the extra mile and have a session facade, but in the majority of cases, coding to an interface for your service accomplishes the same goals.
    2.Transfer Object pattern to define update transfer objects strategy in order to decrease network overhead during client and application server interactions and to provide version control for objects. Transfer objects are designed as simple java business serializable objects. (http://java.sun.com/blueprints/corej2eepatterns/Patterns/TransferObject.html)
    The idea of the transfer object is very similar to the Command pattern. I think if you investigate that pattern, it will be more obvious. The transfer object reduces network latency by consolidating all the parameters into an object, ideally, this also consolidates multiple method calls. If you combine a transfer object (or command object) with a service tier, you get the best of both worlds. The service can delegate calls to helper objects (or other services or components) using the data in the transfer / command object.
    3. Originally the backend application consisted of three modules: users, storage and orders, but at the end I have decided to divide my application into the following parts - assortments, map, menu, orders, transactions, users.
    The is your domain. It will vary from application to application. The principles above are more general (e.g., patterns and architectural tiers) and should apply to most domains. However, your actual use case may require something different.
    4. All MySQL database transactions are via JDBC using procedures. No use of entity beans.
    Consider using something like iBatis or Spring's JDBC templating to make your life easier with JDBC.

    Versioning is a separate issue. Generally, the more coarsely grained your transfer / command object is, the more changes are likely to impact dependent objects.
    Your command or transfer object does not have to be a vanilla JavaBean, where you are basically creating a bean that has data from other objects. You can simply use your command / transfer object to encapsulate already existing domain objects. I see no need to map to a JavaBean with what you have described.
    Generally, a method signature should be understandable. This means that many times it is better to pass the method, say, two coarsely grained objects than a signature with a dozen primitives. There are no hard and fast rules here. If you find a method signature getting large, consider a transfer / command object. If you want one service to delegate calls to a number of other services, you can also create a transfer / command object to furnish the controlling service with the data it needs to invoke the dependent services.
    2. E.g. I have a huge list of the Order objects and each Order object consists of other complicated objects. So, would I have trouble to transfer that list over network? If yes, how to manage it.
    This is a large, open-ended question. If you are going to display it to a user on a screen, I do not see how you avoid a network transfer with the data. The general answer is to not pass the data itself but rather a token (such as a primary key, or a primary key and a start and stop range such as you see on a Google search result). You do want to limit the data over the network, but this comes at a cost. Usually, the database will receive additional load. Once that becomes unacceptable, you might start putting things into session. Then you worry about memory concerns, etc. There is no silver bullet to the problem. It depends on what issues you are trying to address and what trade-offs are acceptable in your environment.
    Thank you!
    AstghikBest of luck.

  • How to use session variable in JSP function  & How to use both JSP  Servlet

    Hi,
    I am new to JSP and servlets
    Still I am devloping a website in JSP. I am not mixing JSP with servlets, but I do create Java files for bean, logic and database works.
    I try to keep the hard coding part out of JSP.
    I dont how to use both JSP and Servlets in combination.
    Hence If needed I write some functions in JSP.
    but it gives me error
    +<%! public void abc()+
    +{+
    int intUserId = Integer.valueOf((Integer) session.getAttribute("MySession_UserID"));
    +}+
    +%>+
    Saying cannot find symbol session
    1) So can u please tell how can I access session variables within JSP function
    2) And also give me some links/tutorials about useing both JSP and Servlets in combination.
    Thanks

  • Gantt chart: Don't know how to use the tooltipkeys and toolkeylabel

    I have a problem. Don't know how to use the tooltipkeys and toolkeylabel. I used jquery to select the gantt bars and on mouse over i was getting the task id "tid" then passing it to adf bean with serverlistener and showing a popup that is adf component with javascript. For positioning of the popup I used a button that has width and height 0 and has position absolute and gets the coordinates of the mouse.
    "div[et]" is a jquery selector that selects all the elements that have attribute et. I noticed that all the bars have that attribute as a few other attributes as well "part"...

    Hi,
    To use tooltipkeys and tooltiplabel in gantt, you can add following code in managed bean
    public String[] getTooltipKeys()
    return new String[]{"columnA", "columnB", "StartDate", "EndDate"};
    public String[] getTooltipLabels()
    return new String[]{"A", "B", "Start Date", "End Date"};
    where , the string array in the ToolTipKeys represents the columns, of the table you have in the gantt component , and the string array in TooltipLabels displays the label you want to display for the table columns.
    In the jsff, you could call the bean methods as follows:
    tooltipKeys="#{GanttBean.tooltipKeys}"
    tooltipKeyLabels="#{GanttBean.tooltipLabels}"

    Thank you.
    And another question if the data is already there in the child table if i try to load alone it must delete the old data in the child tablee and need to get load the new data and
    How to do this ?
    Arunraj Kumar
    You can do that with an IF EXISTS condition
    IF EXISTS (SELECT 1
    FROM YourChildTable c
    INNER JOIn @temptable t
    ON c.Bkey1 = t.Bkey1
    AND c.Bkey2 = t.Bkey2
    DELETE t
    FROM YourChildTable c
    INNER JOIn @temptable t
    ON c.Bkey1 = t.Bkey1
    AND c.Bkey2 = t.Bkey2
    INSERT INTO YourChildTable
    where Bkey1,Bkey2 etc forms the business key of the table

    Check
    - your spelling of the attribute names - obviously they must match
    - the ids of the sessions you get both times: session.getId(). If they have different ids, then most probably the session is being lost somewhere.
    There are a number of reasons to lose a session. If you close the browser, invalidate the session in code, or lose the cookie recording the id. This happens when you change from https to http, so a session can be lost that way.
    The session is normally maintained by session cookies. If you close your browser you lose the cookie. If you have disabled cookies on your machine then it also might not work.
    In cases such as that you should be using the method response.encodeURL() to maintain the session for you in any hyperlinks you produce. Struts normally handles that for you though if necessary.
    Hope this helps,

  • How to use SQL OVER and PARTITION BY in OBIEE Expression Builder??

    Hi there,
    I want to create a new logical coulmn with the following SQL query.
    SUM(Inventory Detail.Qty) OVER(PARTITION BY Inventory Detail.A,Inventory Detail.B,Item.C,Inventory Detail.D,MyDATE )/SUM(Inventory Detail.Qty) OVER(PARTITION BY Inventory Detail.A,Inventory Detail.B,Item.C )
    How to use the OVER and PARTITION BY in OBIEE Expression Builder??
    Thanks in Advance

    hi bipin,
    We cant use by in Expression builder(rpd) .But use the same formula like this in Fx of answers
    SUM(Inventory Detail.Qty) OVER(PARTITION BY Inventory Detail.A,Inventory Detail.B,Item.C,Inventory Detail.D,MyDATE )/SUM(Inventory Detail.Qty) >OVER(PARTITION BY Inventory Detail.A,Inventory Detail.B,Item.C )SUM(Inventory Detail.Qty by Detail,ITEM,Mydate)/SUM(qty by detail,item)
    First check the numerator whether it was giving correct results or not then go with denominator
    compare the results with sql that u have
    Let me know if that does work
    thanks,

  • How to use the validations and exceptions  in BPEL

    Hi,
    How to use the validations and exceptions in BPEL.
    pls provide one sample example to give the exceptions and validations in BPEL

    Hi,
    For example you can create a simple BPEL Process and you can throw an error during running process. If input data is not valid and format is not correct you can throw error using throw activity and using catch activity you can catch particular error. The catch-all will handle all the error occurred with the scope.
    you can also refer faulthandling section in the link for more information related to exception handling.

  • How to use the eventing and databag with a WAS 6.20 ?

    How to use the eventing and databag with a WAS 6.20 ?
    Is what there is a good guide for these services?
    Thank's

    In the raise event you can pass the value
    like below.
    <SCRIPT>
    function raiseEvt(value1){
    if(window.document.domain == window.location.hostname){
    if ( document.domain.indexOf(".") > 0 ) document.domain = document.domain.substr(document.domain.indexOf(".")+1);
       EPCMPROXY.raiseEvent( "urn:com.sap:BWEvents","BWiViewevent", value1, null );
      // alert('tree domain'+document.domain);
    </SCRIPT>
    and in the
    subscribe event you can get the values like below.
    <script language="javascript">
    if(window.document.domain == window.location.hostname){
    document.domain = document.domain.substring(document.domain.indexOf('.')+1);
        EPCMPROXY.subscribeEvent("urn:com.sap:BWEvents","BWiViewevent", window, "myreceiveEvent");
    function myreceiveEvent( eventObj ) {
          document.forms[0].gp_hidden.value = eventObj.dataObject;
    </script>

  • How to use create by and modified by

    how to use create by and modified by ?
    when some one create row it will stamp who create
    and when some one edite row it will stamp who edit row
    i ever user create on and modified on
    but creay by and modified by i never use it.

    Howard,
    If you are not using JAZN you can still register created by and modified by user and date info in a "backdoor-wise" way:
    1. Get the user login string by using System.getProperty("user.name")
    2. Get the current datetime using java.util.Date
    3. In the backing bean for the page and the action method for your submit button, set the values for the components containing the created by or updated by values to the values obtained in points 1 and 2.
    Hope this is somehow useful,
    AG

  • How to use FlashIsland.EVENT_BEGIN_UPDATE and FlashIsland.EVENT_END_UPDATE

    Hi All,
      I am traying to get value from SAP into Flex component, i am trying to find out where exactly its filling up the array in Flex component and i am unable to figure it out. i am getting values into flex component i can see them but when i am debugging the same i am not able to find where its putting values into array in flex builder debuggin mode.
      if anybody can explain me how to use FlashIsland.EVENT_BEGIN_UPDATE and FlashIsland.EVENT_END_UPDATE . i dont know if there is any documentation on the event available for FlashIsland class.
              public function Search(): void{
                  var Objid:String = OBJID.text as String;
                   FlashIsland.fireEvent(this, "Search",{OBJECT_ID:Objid});
    will appreciate any reply.
    Mani

    I have seen that there is some bug in the early versions of the FlashIsland library where the EVENT_*_UPDATE events don't work.  I saw an internal note the other day that this was fixed in newer (and shipping) versions of the library.
    The code for the registration of the event should be:
    FlashIsland.addEventListener(FlashIsland.EVENT_END_UPDATE, handleEndUpdate);
    However I find that the better approach is to use public GET/SET functions as the bindings to the Web Dynpro Context.  This way you get Flex code that fires automatically whenever the Web Dynpro Context data changes.  This would be the prefered way of passing "events" from WD to the Flex code.

  • How to create process chains,and how to use process like and or xor

    Hi,
    How to create process chains,and how to use process like and or xor.
    can any one please give me a example in each.
    Thanks,
    cheta.

    Hi Cheta,
    Here is step by step procedure to create process chains
    Process chain is nothing but executing a process ..(or) loading the data any process we can do in background.. that means.. automatically we can execute our process based on Time or any event..
    Creating Process Chains
    Prerequisites
    If you want to include a load process in the process chain, you need to have already created an InfoPackage.
    You cannot load flat file data from a client workstation in the background. For this reason, you have stored your data on an application server.
    Creating Process Chains
    You have the option of creating a process chain in the process chain maintenance screen directly or by using a maintenance dialog for a process:
    Creating a Process Chain Directly in the Process Chain Maintenance Screen
    You are in the BW Administrator Workbench.
    1. Click on the Process Chain Maintenance icon in the AWB toolbar.
    The Process Chain Selection dialog window appears.
    2. Choose Create.
    3. Enter the technical name and a description of the chain, and confirm your entry.
    The Add Start Process dialog window appears.
    4. Create a variant for a start process.
    1. a. On the Maintain Start Process screen, choose whether you want to schedule the chain directly or whether you want to start it using a metachain.
    2. b. If you choose to schedule the chain directly, enter the start date value for the chain under Change Selections and save your entries.
    The Maintain Start Process screen appears again.
    3. c. Save your entries, return to the previous screen and confirm your entries in the Add Start Process dialog window.
    You are taken to the Plan View of the process chain maintenance screen.
    In the left-hand area of the screen, a navigation area is displayed. In the right-hand area of the screen, the process chain is displayed.
    5. Use the drag-and-drop function to add the relevant processes into your process chain.
    You use the Process Types function to select the processes. This sorts the process types according to different categories. You can also call up InfoPackages and processes for the data target from the separate InfoSources and Data Targets navigation trees.
    Hope this helps
    Regards
    Karthik
