How to use Termination Groupings (TRMTY) / Variants / Rules?

Hi all,
As per the subject, I have not figured out how to make use of Termination feature for Benefits Administration.
I have tried creating a tree node under TRMTY with Action type (MASSN) and Reason for Action (MASSG), and put an employee under this group. I also set the Termination Rules to terminate the benefit plan Immediately. However, after executing the action, no plans are terminated.
So what changes are expected here? How to make use of the Termination feature?

Hi Tommy,
I actually made the termination of benefits plans a part of the termination action using Dynamic actions. In the Dynamic actions, I put in the condition for the termination action and subsequently called up the benefits terminations popup.
Heres the code for the Dynamic action:
0378 * CALL EVENTS PROCESSING POPUP
0378 06 1 F CALL_POPUP
The user will be asked in the popup to enter a specific date on which to end benefits. Once the date is entered all benefits are ended per that date.
You can always call up HRben0014 in the process but I found this much more efficient.

How to use Terminal with KeySpan USB serial adaptor cable?

I own a KeySpan model USA-19HS to use with our MacBookPro when working on clients networking equipment that require serial communication. I have used ZTerm with excellent luck, but it costs, and is yet another application that I dont really want. I would like to know if any one out there has exacing instructions on how to use Terminal with this adaptor. If I could write a file that had, say, the couple most common settings (9600-8-n-1, 57600-8-n-1, et cetera) that I could simply click on, to open a new Terminal window with those settings, then simply close that, and open a new window (apple+n) in order to get back to a default settings terminal window. All feedback is most appreciated.

1. Have you considered discussing this with Keyspan Support?
2. Have you read the section "OSX has Terminal.app - why do I need ZTerm?" on the ZTerm Home Page? That seems to explain why one needs an app like ZTerm.
3. A quick search of Keyspan's FAQ for your product and terminal doesn't yield much more than how to find the serial ports using Terminal.
Likewise, this Google search also yields little, and variants of that search of such weren't particularly help either.
It appears your inquiry seems to be a somewhat esoteric topic.
4. Apparently, ZTerm X is a bit long in the tooth and there's no Universal Binary for it. It sounds, however, like you've tried it running on your MBP under Rosetta, yes?
5. In researching alternatives to ZTerm for you, I note the followng:• The comment from "Reverb" on this page suggests C-Kermit or Kermit as a free alternative.

Where do I go to learn how to use Terminal?

I need to learn how to use Terminal. I learn best via video tutorials. Wondering if Apple has anything that will help?

As a web designer I decided to make the leap to HTML5 recently and have been collecting TONS of wonderful links to help me get up and running. HTML5 is a monumental leap compared to the transition I had to make from HTML 3.2 to 4 and then from 4 to XHTML 1.0. I was greatly encouraged to find the WebDev community embracing HTML5 Boilerplate and thought life would actually be simpler even when I heard Divya Manian encourage developers to be sure to use Paul Irish's Build Script which comes with HTML5 Boilerplate. As I watched his video, I realize as a Mac user that while there may be an alternative way to work with the Build Script I may not know how to do it properly so I'd best make peace at long last with Terminal. I don't want to run the script on a site and wonder if I didn't use Build Script properly.

How to use negation in user defined rules?

Can you please show me an example to use negation in user defined rule? I created a rule like below (the rule says if a patient has a fever problem and not have penicillin hypersensitivity, then recommend medication1):

How to use Material Group in substitution rule

Hello,
Anyone experience in how to use the entry of the material group of a PO, in a substitution rule for accounting documents.
I have noticed the material number can be used within a substitution rule, and is also available in BSEG... so far have not find a solution to do this for a material group.
Please note, this is applicable for PO with no materials (ONLY a material group to use for account determination).

I have made one business rule with two XML facts and then follow one doc to create the java facts.But I am unable to use the facts.

No Java Facts are created,but as I have mentioned XML input and output facts at the time of creation of business rules,so I am not able to use java fact in business rule.

How to use Entity Attributes in excel Rule File

I have defined two entities Entity A with two attributes and Entity B child of A with two attributes.
I needed to have many instances of theses objects thats why i have chosen entities.
I need to calculate for each entity a result depending on the values of the attributes filled by the user.
My final goal is to have the sum of these calculated results.
The issue i am facing is whenever i try to define a rule in Excel, OPM considers the attribute as global (and creates it) and not as entity level. I therefore have duplicate error.
How can i tell Excel/OPM that the attribute is entity level ?

Make sure you are using exactly the same attribute text in Excel and in your properties file. You can also use the legend key to map from the attribute text to a shorter form.
There isn't any magic here! If the text is the same it will match.
If you provide the actual text of the attributes and entities you are using, we might notice something else.

How to use Terminal to Find or Locate files without extensions?

I'm conversant with the cli, but not a power-user. I've discovered a fairly large number of audio files, across dozens of sometimes nested folders, that (somehow) lost their '.aif' extension and now appear as Unix Executable Files. Upon appending said files with the proper extension, they are perfectly normal audio aif's.
My Problem: using the Terminal, how can I search a directory tree to find those files *without* an extension, discriminating between files and folders, and then append the correct extension to only the files?
I've tried a number of queries, mostly built around the idea of using 'filename.*', but for some reason searching for an extension omission (as opposed to a specified string) isn't so simple.
The following: ls -al *.
Brings up 'No such file or directory'
And the following ls -al .*
Brings up files AND directories
I need o discriminate between files and directories, finds all files without extensions, and rename them with the appropriate extension.
Can anyone help?

The following will find files without a file extension in the current working directory and any sub-directories->
find . -type f ! -name "*.*"
If you are confident that the files found are the appropriate audio file (in this case aif) then you could->
find . -type f ! -name "*.*" -exec mv {} {}.aif \;

    As per the my requirement from my program i want to send the data to spool and from tehre i want to download as PDF .
for the standard program i have a variant . I want to use the variant which has been set for the standard program , but when iam using the below code it is calling the selection scren of the standar program and then i have execute that

There's no lock and delete concept in EventHubs. Please think EH as a stream of events where you can rewind back in time and start reading from wherever you want. For example as in your case if one of the clients fail to process an event any other client
can start reading from that position where first client failed. Let me know if you have additional questions.
I suggest you to read about EventProcessorHosts for EventHubs. This is probably what you're looking for.

Cost center assessment to CO-PA using Variable portions in receiver rule

Hi Experts,
Could you please explain how to use variable portions as receiver rule. An example will be very helpful. I have got theory in help documents but could not get
through it....request for an example.
I am using fixed amounts as sender values and using variable portions as receiver rule.
In receiver tracing factor - I am using value field / key fields as say example VV075 (actual cash discount). I also mentioned record type and plan/actual indicator
in receiver tracing factor screen. I also mentioned data in receiver weighting factor screen.
Still if I execute KEU5, system says no receivers found.
I checked and found there are values for VV075 for the record type and plan / actual indicator combination selected.
Where could be the problem.
Request to explain variable portions with example.

There is no error in other segments. I already checked it...and also in KE24 there is data for the combination of value field, record type, plan/actual indicator and period selected. That is not an issue.
I feel some set up in using the variable portions is missing. This is the first time using variable portions.

Using Terminal in Mac OSX to program and test java

I bought a book on java and it says I should not use a JDK like Net Beans when first learning java.
Right or wrong I would like to know how to use terminal to program and compile simple scripts.
So my question is:
How do you go about setting up the computer to use terminal to write and compile a java program? I know my Mac sees java in terminal because tells me Im running "version 1.5.0_07"
I just need a link to some info on how to get started using Terminal for my command line with java.
I think if I could get a path set up from the command line to my text file and have javac see it I would be in pretty good shape. At least for now.
If I use a text saved plain text file (.java) how do I set up a path to it using javac from the command line?
Where can I find or link to this kind of info?

AyusmanStep 1 and 2 are generally not needed. Mac OS X comes with Java configured up and running right out of the box.

There isn't anything to setup. Just run Terminal and type "vi hello.java" or "nano hello.java". To compile, type "javac hello.java".

That is not necessarily a big question, just fundamental. Try Google. It becomes second nature after a couple of decades so I don't really know where to tell you to look. People do tend to have a big list of links, hopefully they can contribute some.
