How to get the value from databank
Hi,
How to get the value from databank? and how to set the same value to visual script object?
thanks,
raHi,
You can use GetDatabankValue(HeaderName, Value) to get the value from databank and SetDataBankValue(HeaderName, Value) to set the value to databank.
You can refer to the API Reference to see list of associated functions and techniques we can use with related to Data Bank.
This is the for OFT but if you are using Open Script then you have direct access for getting the databank value but when it comes to setting a value you have to use File operation and write you own methods to do the set operation.
Thanks

How to get the values from table region and how to set
Hi,
I have a requirement as Seeded Page Having One Table Region having around 8 columns, In That Item Description field is there. My Requirement is I need add one more field for that Region and assign the value depending Item Description.
I will create one new Item in that region and will give name as Item, But how to set the values to Item Depending on Item Description.
Is it possible to through CO Extension, If yes..Pls help how to get it.
Thanks in Advance,
HanimiHi Hanimi,
1. You need to extend the VO, add a new Attribute.
2. In VORowImpl of the extended VO, you can find the getter for your new attribute (example getItem())
3. In this getter method you can write some code like:
if("ABC".equals(getItemDescription())
return "XYZ" ;

How to get the values of the objects inside an object??
Hi,
I am trying to write code to display name and memory usage of all session attributes, in a recursive way.
I suppose reflection is needed here, but I cant figure out how to get the values of the objects inside an object...
private void handleIt(String attributeName, Object attributeValue) {
boolean isPrimitiveOrNull = ((null == attributeValue) ||
(attributeValue.getClass().isPrimitive()));
if (isPrimitiveOrNull) {
sb.append("{" + attributeName + ":" + sizeOf(attributeValue) + "}");
} else {
sb.append("{" + attributeName + ":" + sizeOf(attributeValue) + "{");
Field[] fields = attributeValue.getClass().getDeclaredFields();
int lim = fields.length;
String name;
Object value = null;
for (int i = 0; i < lim; i++) {
name = fields.getName();
//LOOK AT THIS LINE: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
value = fields[i].get(obj); //I don´t know what 'obj' should be??
handleIt(name, value);
sb.append("}");
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated...I realized that massive int objects called MAX_VALUE, MIN_VALUE and SIZE where causing the StackOverflow, so I removed them from the analysis.
This is the resultant code. But I think it isnt accurate in calculating the real size of objects being got using reflexion.
Do you or somebody have any more suggestions?

In BADi , How to pass the values between two Method
Hi Experts,
We have two methods in BADis. How to pass the value between two Methods. Can you guys explain me out with one example...
Thanks & Regards,
Sivakumar SHi Sivakumar!
Create a function group.
Define global data (there is a similiar menu point to jump to the top include).
Create one or two function modules, with which you can read and write the global data.
In your BADI methods you can access the global data with help of your function modules. It will stay in memory through the whole transaction.

How to pass the value dynamically in exp/imp utilities of oracle
I want to pass the value of org_grp_i dynamically,instead of passing the value
19.Can you please tell how to write the script to this
exp fas/xxxxxx@fasbd001 file=audit_grn_28aug.dmp tables=audit_grn query=\"where org_grp_i=19 \"
where xxxxxx is the password
ThanksYou need to make use of command line arguments. You can go through this link for example.
http://www.freeos.com/guides/lsst/ch02sec14.html
In your shell script(say test.sh) you can have
exp fas/xxxxxx@fasbd001 file=audit_grn_28aug.dmp tables=audit_grn query=\"where org_grp_i=$1 \"$1 indicates it accepts the first argument from command line. if you want to pass 19, add that next to the script you're executing.
From command line you can call this shell script say test.sh 19 -
How to write the exceptions in function module
dear all,
how to write the exceptions in function modules with example.
thanq
jyothiHi,
Raising Exceptions
There are two ABAP statements for raising exceptions. They can only be used in function modules:
RAISE except.
und
MESSAGE.....RAISING except.
The effect of these statements depends on whether the calling program handles the exception or not. The calling program handles an exception If the name of the except exception or OTHERS is specified after the EXCEPTION option of the CALL FUNCTION statement.
If the calling program does not handle the exception
· The RAISEstatement terminates the program and switches to debugging mode.
· The MESSAGE..... RAISING statement displays the specified message. Processing is continued in relation to the message type.
If the calling program handles the exception, both statements return control to the program. No values are transferred. The MESSAGE..... RAISING statement does not display a message. Instead, it fills the system fields sy-msgid, sy-msgty, sy-msgno , and SY-MSGV1 to SY-MSGV4.
Source Code of READ_SPFLI_INTO_TABLE
The entire source code of READ_SPFLI_INTO_TABLE looks like this:
FUNCTION read_spfli_into_table.
""Local Interface:
*" IMPORTING
*" VALUE(ID) LIKE SPFLI-CARRID DEFAULT 'LH '
*" EXPORTING
*" VALUE(ITAB) TYPE SPFLI_TAB
*" EXCEPTIONS
*" NOT_FOUND
SELECT * FROM spfli INTO TABLE itab WHERE carrid = id.
IF sy-subrc NE 0.
MESSAGE e007(at) RAISING not_found.
ENDIF.
ENDFUNCTION.
The function module reads all of the data from the database table SPFLI where the key field CARRID is equal to the import parameter ID and places the entries that it finds into the internal table spfli_tab. If it cannot find any entries, the exception NOT_FOUND is triggered with MESSAGE ... RAISING. Otherwise, the table is passed to the caller as an exporting parameter.
Calling READ_SPFLI_INTO_TABLE
The following program calls the function module READ_SPFLI_INTO_TABLE:
REPORT demo_mod_tech_fb_read_spfli.
PARAMETERS carrier TYPE s_carr_id.
DATA: jtab TYPE spfli_tab,
wa LIKE LINE OF jtab.
CALL FUNCTION 'READ_SPFLI_INTO_TABLE'
EXPORTING
id = carrier
IMPORTING
itab = jtab
EXCEPTIONS
not_found = 1
OTHERS = 2.
CASE sy-subrc.
WHEN 1.
MESSAGE ID sy-msgid TYPE sy-msgty NUMBER sy-msgno.
WHEN 2.
MESSAGE e702(at).
ENDCASE.
LOOP AT jtab INTO wa.
WRITE: / wa-carrid, wa-connid, wa-cityfrom, wa-cityto.
ENDLOOP.
The actual parameters carrier and jtab have the same data types as their corresponding interface parameters in the function module. The exception NOT_FOUND is handled in the program. It displays the same message that the function module would have displayed had it handled the error.
Or
just have to decide what exceptions u want and under what conditions.
then declarethese exeptions under the exceptions tab.
in the source code of ur function module.
if
like this u can code .
now when u call the function module in tme mainprogram.
if some error occurs and u have declared a exception for this then it will set sy-subrc = value u give inthe call of this fm.
in the fm u can program these sy-subrc values and trigger the code for ur exception.
Please reward if useful

Ravi

How to get the value of attribute.
Hi,
I have requirement that i have to pass lineid as parameter to procedure.
Line id is prasent in the vo.
So to capture the value of that line id after clicking update button.
I've created one event on update button in that created the parameter
updaterecord ${oa.UpdateVO1.LineId}
and to capture that i write the following code in the PFR.
if("update".equals(pageContext.getParameter(EVENT_PARAM)))
OAApplicationModule am=(OAApplicationModule)pageContext.getRootApplicationModule();
String lid = pageContext.getParameter("updaterecord").toString();
String promiseD=pageContext.getParameter("PromiseDate").toString();
Serializable [] parameters1={lid,promiseD};
am.invokeMethod("Update", parameters1);
But its passing null value .
Please any one will help how to capture the values.
Regards,
SanguHi Sangu,
Try below code
//In Controller
java.sql.Date convDate; //declare variable
String lid = pageContext.getParameter("updaterecord").toString();
String promiseD=pageContext.getParameter("PromiseDate");
OADBTransaction txn = am.getOADBTransaction();
if(promiseD!=null)
java.sql.Date javaSqlDate = txn.getOANLSServices().stringToDate(promiseD);
convDate= javaSqlDate;
// set converted value
Serializable [] parameters1={lid,convDate};
am.invokeMethod("Update", parameters1);
Do date conversion same way in AM before setting date Value.

How to write the map expression for a const string
hi all,
i am trying to map from source table A to target table B. Table B has a column that A doesn't have and the column type is string.
what should i do if i want to keep this column a const string like "abc"? How to write the map expression?
Setting a default value like "abc" of this column in database is not available .
please try to help, thanks a lot.
junHi jun,
You mean, u want to give some hard coded value to a specific column in mapping?
If so , give 'abc' in the target column and execute it on Target.
Thanks,

Im using measurement studio c++ to create a application. How to save a randomly generated value which display in the CNumberEdit Control to a text file? how to do the coding part?
You can use the CNiFile class to write the value out to a file. For example, create a new Measurement Studio C++ project and follow these steps:
Add a CNiNumEdit to the dialog.
Add a member variable for the CNiNumEdit called m_numEdit.
Add a button to the dialog.
Double-click the button to add a message handler for the button's BN_CLICKED message.
Add the following code to the button's BN_CLICKED message handler:
CNiFile file("C:\\Values.log", CFile::modeCreate | CFile::modeWrite | CFile::typeText);
file << m_numEdit.Value << endl;
file.Close();
Run the application, edit the CNiNumEdit's value, and click the button. The value should be written to the Values.log
file as specified in the code above.
Hope this helps.

How to catch the value in sum(control break statement).
hi,
can any one tell me how to catch the value in sum in control break satament.
ex.
at end of brtwr.
sum.
endat.
I need to print the value in sum only.
I tried to declare a varaible of type i and assigned sum to this variable.
it is giving syntax error that sum is not identified.
How should i do this.
regards.Hi Siva,
In control break statement when we use SUM. it added all the amount fields and stores its in the work area of that field.
look below code.
DATA : BEGIN OF itab OCCURS 0,
name(10),
num TYPE i,
END OF itab.
DATA : num TYPE i .
itab-name = 'salman'.
itab-num = 100.
APPEND itab.
itab-name = 'salman'.
itab-num = 200.
APPEND itab.
itab-name = 'akshay'.
itab-num = 500.
APPEND itab.
LOOP AT itab.
AT END OF name.
SUM.
WRITE : / itab-num.
ENDAT.
ENDLOOP.
here the SUM value is stored in Workarea,
the output will be 300 & 500.
regards
