HowTo get ResourceBundle from package?

Hello, again I have rather silly question.
I'm using maven to build simple Java application packaged as jar.
I have such structure:
myapp.ui.button
-SuperButton.java
-SuperButton.png
-SuperButton.properties
-SuperButton_ru_RU.properties.
Also I have a method which loads string from ResourceBundle:
public static String readFromBundle(Class clz, String key){
        ResourceBundle resourceBundle = ResourceBundle.getBundle(clz.getName().toLowerCase()); //also tried clz.getName() and clz.getSimpleName(),
        return resourceBundle.getString(key);
    }The problem is that i get such error:
java.util.MissingResourceException: Can't find bundle for base name SuperButton, locale ru_RU
If I move SuperButton*.properties files to default package (i.e. root of the package structure), it works fine. My method locates ResourceBundle which I need and returns value by key.
But It's very bad, it the future I'll have several jars in one classpath and it's possible that different jars can have ResourceBundles with equal names. That is why I would like to keep each ResourceBundle in the package where i18n class is situated. With this approach ResourceBundles will not "cover" each other.
What do I do wrong? What do I have to do if I want to keep ResourceBundle in the same package with class? I don't wan't to keep resources in root.

The problem was in installed artifact where displayed method is situated.
problem is solved.

  • Can't get ResourceBundle from jar.

    Dear all,
    I have problem in geting properties from file included in jar file. I try to do it by calling mthod ResourceBundle.getBundle("bundle"), where bundle.properies is the file in jar. When I run the programm by calling :
    java -jar dist/properties.jar
    I have the following rsult on the console:
    Exception in thread "main" java.util.MissingResourceException: Can't find bundle
    for base name bundle, locale pl_PL
    at java.util.ResourceBundle.throwMissingResourceException(ResourceBundle.java:712)
    at java.util.ResourceBundle.getBundleImpl(ResourceBundle.java:683)
    at java.util.ResourceBundle.getBundle(ResourceBundle.java:546)
    In case I run this program, using not jar'ed classes everything is ok.
    P.S. the manifest file of the jar is:
    Manifest-Version: 1.0
    Created-By: Apache Ant 1.5.1
    Main-Class: PropertiesLoader
    Thanks in advance for all answers.

    According to ResourceBundleAPI:
    Calling this method is equivalent to calling
        getBundle(baseName, locale, this.getClass().getClassLoader()),
    except that getClassLoader() is run with the security privileges of ResourceBundleTry this code, it will obtain the application's ClassLoader and will enable the location of the properties file in all the classpath defined for it.
            ClassLoader loader = Thread.currentThread().getContextClassLoader();
            resources = ResourceBundle.getBundle(BUNDLE_BASENAME, locale, loader);Good Luck!

  • Howto get informations from theme

    Hi,
    I need to get some value from portal theme(e.g. some Background color of Groups). Now I now how to get theme:
    ILAFService iLAFService = (ILAFService)request.getService(ILAFService.KEY);
    IThemeInfo theme = iLAFService.getCurrentTheme(request);
    but now I dont know what should I do now. When I tried to debug, i found out that theme is of class LAFService@ThemeInfo but i am not able to cast to this class(still getting NoClassDefFoundError, what should i add to portalapp.xml??). Is there any easy way how to find out that informations from theme? (i tried to decompile theme editor, but i get lost in the beggining of the code ).
    thnaks
    JJ

    Hi JJ,
    first of all the LAFservice (Look and Feel Service) is no public API. Furthermore it has only knowledge about themes and their versions.
    The service which knows about parameters is the DesignService residing within the Portal application com.sap.portal.themes.designservice but also this service is no public API.
    Feel free to send a feature request to Enterprise Portal product management.

  • Getting Batch from Packaging material Number (Batch characteristics)

    Hi Gurus,
    I've a requirement.
    i want to know the batches where the packaging material is used.
    Packaging material is one of the batch characteristics, if i assign the same packaging material number in one batch, that should not be assigned to another batch.
    I want to know in which batches the same packaging material is assigned.
    Please guide me?? which table has the links for batch, packaging material number and main material number???
    How can i find this???
    Thanks in advance.

    we can use the MMCL transaction/BMBC to see this.
    In MMCL we have a FM to get the Data.

  • How to get values from a stored package variable of type record ?

    Sir,
    In my JClient form, I need to get values from a database stored package variable of type record. And the values are retained in the JClient form for the whole session. The values are copied only once when the form is started.
    What is the best way to do that ?
    Thanks
    Stephen

    Stephen,
    not sure what your model is, but if it is Business Components, I think I would expose the properties as a client method on the application module. This way all JClient panels and frames will have access to it. You could use a HashMap to store the data in teh app module.
    If JDBC supports the record type, then you should be able to call it via a prepared SQL statement. If not, you may consider writing a PLSQL accessor to your stored procedure that returns something that can be handled.

    Hey corrafromlondon,
    Thanks for the question. After reviewing your post, it sounds like the installer file isn't working. Have you tried deleting the installer and redownloading the installer? I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you isolate or resolve the issue.
    How to install OS X Yosemite on your Mac - Apple Support
    you can find the Yosemite installer app in your Applications folder or Launchpad.
    Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

    Thank you for your answer.
    I'm very new to mySql as server. When I was assigned
    to write the application, the administrator has set
    up mySql database in the company web server for my
    application. My program runs very when using my
    workplace desktop with java web start or with java
    web start in netbeans (all paths should be link to my
    desktop hard disk, i.e. users/application/). I can
    not run the application at home because I can not
    access to the company intranet server (for security
    purpose). The problem happens when I post the
    application in the company web page (I have to modify
    all paths in jnlp file to the company web address).
    The program then runs without exception except it
    seems that it gets no data from the database (for
    example, when I type my username, it returns that
    "There is no such user name. contact.." as what I
    code in the application for not correcting user name)
    It happens for not only using my company desktop but
    also for others.
    Please help me.
    Thank you in advance.And all this could have been answered yesterday, in your other thread, when I asked you "Is the DB configured to allow that user to connect to the DB from where that user is attempting to connect from?"
    Seeing as how you get that error, the obvious answer was, "No." At which point we could have continued.
    Configure the needed users into the DB, without forgetting to allow them access from the machines from which they are going to access from.
    Although, I agree with Rene, that you should set up a server of some sort, located on the same machine as the DB, for communicating with the DB.

    Is there anyway of getting parameters from an

    <%@ page import="java.io.FileWriter,java.io.IOException" %>
    <%
    .//upload the file
    String email = request.getParameter("signinName").trim(); //this line is bringing me an NullPointerException
    %>Thanks in advance for any suggestion!!
    All the best!

    You cannot use the HttpServletRequest object to retrieve parameters from a multipart form. You'll have to use a package that can parse such a form. I suggest Apache commons FileUpload.
    http://jakarta.apache.org/commons/fileupload/
    Using this package you can get both the file upload and any other parameters.

  • Get Images from jar. getResource() not working

    I've read some of the posts in the forum and I've tried the solutions but still cant get the images in my program.
    I'll write all the things I've tried (All of them works fine when I run them from bluej):
    1- The code used in the jar files in demo folder of jdk:
    /** Inside the main class: */
    private static ResourceBundle resources;
        static {
            try {
                resources = ResourceBundle.getBundle("resources.Recursos", Locale.getDefault());
            } catch (MissingResourceException mre) {
                JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(new JFrame(), "ResourceBundle not found","Error",JOptionPane.ERROR_MESSAGE);
                System.exit(1);
    public String getResourceString(String nm)
            String str;
            try {
                str = resources.getString(nm);
                  } catch (MissingResourceException mre) {
                str = null;
            return str;
        public URL getResource(String key)
            String name = getResourceString(key);
            if (name != null)
                URL url = getClass().getResource(name); //  Here is the exception
                return url;
            return null;
        public ImageIcon loadImage(String image_name)
            URL image_url = null;
            try
                image_url = getResource(image_name);
                if (image_url != null)
                    return new ImageIcon(image_url);
                else
                return null;
            }catch(Exception e)
                JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(new JFrame(), e.getMessage() + "In load Image","Error",JOptionPane.ERROR_MESSAGE);
                return null;
    /** Inside the constructor */
    abrirButton = new JButton(loadImage("open"));
    }//End of the class}
    The ResourceBundle is a file named: Recursos.properties and it's in a folder inside the folder of my *.class and *.java And have this information:
    Title=Recursos
    ElementTreeFrameTitle=Elements
    ViewportBackingStore=false
    open=resources/open24.gif
    save=resources/saveAs24.gif
    cut=resources/cut24.gif
    copy=resources/copy24.gif
    paste=resources/paste24.gif
    analisis=resources/bean24.gif
    This one, runs with the jar, but the images are not in the buttons and I get the Dialog message telling me that there was an error in loadImage. Check that method. I used this dialogs to track the error and the exception it's generated by:
    URL url = getClass().getResource(name);
    in public URL getResource(String key) method.
    2- I also tried to follow the instructions of this article that describes how to get resources from jars:
    http://www.javaworld.com/javaworld/jw-07-1998/jw-07-jar-p2.html
    This is the first page of the article:
    http://www.javaworld.com/javaworld/jw-07-1998/jw-07-jar.html
    And I did something like this:
    /** Inside constructor */
    abrirButton = new JButton(new ImageIcon(getImageFromJAR("Imagenes/open24.gif")));
    /** Inside of my main class */
    public Image getImageFromJAR(String fileName)

    ...The images in this one are in the folder Imagenes inside the folder of my *.class and *.java
    This one work fine in bluej too, but the jar... It doesn't even start.
    3- And the last one.
    abrirButton = new JButton(new ImageIcon(getClass().getResource("Imagenes/open24.gif"));Works fine in bluej, not running in jar.
    Am I doing something wrong? Please somebody help me.
    thanks in advance

    Are you putting the image files inside the jar? If you are, then use "jar tf jarfile.jar" to display the contents of the jar and make sure the files are there and inside the right directory. If you are not, then you can not use getClass().getResource() from a jar file because it will look inside the jar file.
    If you are getting an error message, please post it.

  • How to get DBMS_LOB standard package

    Where can I get DBMS_LOB standard package?
    and
    how to use it in my FORM application?

    Hi,
    This standard package is included in the RDBMS $ORACLE_HOME/dbms/admin/dbmslog.sql file.
    If you install it (check the file for howto install) you'll then be able to use it like any other package.

  • Computer died - anyway to get songs from ipod to new computer

    My computer died - the hard disk crashed and we have no access to any data on the computer. We have about 250 songs on the ipod - and have downloaded itunes on a new computer. The songs on the ipod are both songs that were purchased from itunes as well as songs from our personal CD collection.
    Is there any way to get songs from the ipod to the new computer?

    You can try a couple of third party software packages to sync from your Ipod back to your Windoze installation of Itunes. I've provided some links for you here:
    http://www.ipod2computer.com/index.php?SRC=6
    http://www.bootstrapdevelopment.com/ShowProduct.aspx?ID=13&gclid=CK6Q06Pvto0CFQZ iOAoddwKnMA
    If these links don't work for you, just google IPOD to PC and you'll get the information to come up. I think these 3rd party conduits only run about $20. (Well worth the investment.) Good luck!

  • How do i get input from the user?

    For example if i wanted to ask "Whats your favorite number" and then get the input from the user and assign it to a variable how would i go about doing that?

    hi,
    if you want to get input from your console your should work with io(input and output).The BufferedReader class, InputStreamReader class
    you should import "java.io.BufferedReader" and "java.io.InputStreamReader" package, and do something like this:
    BufferedReader input = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(System.in));
    String favoriteNumber;
    System.out.println("Whats your favorite number ");
    favoriteNumber = input.readLine();
    System.out.println ("Your favorite Number Is " + favoriteNumber);
    if its a gui you should import "javax.swing.JOptionPane" and do the following
    String favoriteNumber = JOptionPane.showInputDialog(null, "Enter your favorite Number", "Favorite Number", JOptionPane.INFORMATION_MESSAGE);

    when I run above query its coming in 1.2 seconds.but when comment subquery and call from package its taking 9 seconds.query returns more than 2000 records.i am not able to find the reason why it is taking more time when calling from package?

    You are getting a different plan when you run it as PL/SQL most likely. Comment your statement:
    SELECT /* your comment here */then find them in V$SQL and get the SQL IDs. You can then use DBMS_XPLAN.DISPLAY_CURSOR to see what is actually happening.
