HOWTO: Handle a click event on a DAC TreeControl
HOWTO: Handle a click event on a DAC TreeControl
Goal: Handle the event that occurs when a user clicks on a new node of a DAC TreeControl. In this example the handler is simple - it just prints out the current node. You can try this example on the DACTree.jpr project in the 3.2 tutorial, described in the online help under
Tutorials and Sample Applications
-> Tutorials
-> Building Enterprise Applications with Business Components for Java
-> Enhancing the Online Orders Application
-> Creating a DAC Client
The problem: The usual procedure for adding an event to a DAC component does not work: if you select your TreeControl in the designer, then select the Events tab of the property inspector, none of the events listed does what we want.
Solution: Get the underlying JTree and add your listener to it. Although the TreeControl is not a subclass of javax.swing.JTree, it does have an underlying JTree which you can get by calling TreeControl.getTree().
Add the following code to your frame's .java file (Hint: Add any event, from the Events tab of the property inspector, then use the generated code as your template, changing it to match this example):
1. Declare a JTree:
JTree tree = new JTree();2. In jbInit(), add the event listener after the code that sets up your TreeControl:
tree = treeControl1.getTree();
tree.addTreeSelectionListener(new javax.swing.event.TreeSelectionListener() {
public void valueChanged(javax.swing.event.TreeSelectionEvent e) {
tree_valueChanged(e);
});3. Add the event handler method:
void tree_valueChanged(javax.swing.event.TreeSelectionEvent e) {
System.out.println("Current node: " + tree.getLastSelectedPathComponent());
}
could you add a mouselistener to the pane or whatever container the pie chart is drawn on? Then override the mouseClicked method to do whatever you want?

Handle single click event in ALV OOPS
Hi,
I have to display 2 ALV grid...one above the other.
Top ALV will contain Header info and bottom ALV witll display line item.
I am use ALV OOPS.
Now when user will click on the top ALV ...bottom ALV should show corresponding data.
I don't have to use HOTSPOT or Double click event.
How can I handle single click event.
Please guide me..thanks in advance
Regards,
Prasoonhi,
for this in ALV OOPS take 2 custom containers( cl_gui_custom_container)in the same screen and on the 1st container display the header data(use set_tale_for_first_display method of class cl_gui_alv_grid).
On the 2nd screen item data for this use EVENT handling(you want single click). use hotspot_click or button_click events.
for this you have to register the events. the code for that.

DATA gr_event_handler TYPE REF TO lcl_event_handler .
*--Creating an instance for the event handler
CREATE OBJECT gr_event_handler.
*--Registering handler methods to handle ALV Grid events
SET HANDLER gr_event_handler->handle_hotspot_click FOR gr_alvgrid .
SET HANDLER gr_event_handler->handle_button_click FOR gr_alvgrid .
do n't forget to use refresh_table_display
other wise only the record which you first you clicked will display in the 2nd container.

How to handle double click event in a text control
Hi,
Will u please send me information on handling double click events inside text control and also about locking and unlocking of DB tables for updation.
Regards,
Praba.Hi Prabhavathi,
Here is how you handle double click events in Textedit control.
1)Create a custom control in screen (say TEXT_CONTROL)
2)In main program,
a) Declarations:
data: obj type ref to cl_gui_custiom_control.
text type ref to cl_gui_textedit.
b) Create the instance of custom container
c) Create the instance of textedit control.
3)Now to handle double click events , create a local class as follows.
class shail_event definition.
public section.
methods:
handle_doubleclick for event dblclick of cl_gui_textedit .
endclass.
class shail_event implementation.
method handle_doubleclick .
here do the coding for handling the double click.
endmethod.
endclass.
4) Create an instance of the handler class(ie.ZSHAIL_EVENT).Let it be named hand.
5) Define varibles for event.
DATA: i_events TYPE cntl_simple_events,
wa_events TYPE cntl_simple_event.
SET HANDLER hand->handle_doubleclick for text.
wa_events-eventid = cl_gui_textedit=>event_double_click.
wa_events-appl_event = 'X'. "This is an application event
APPEND wa_events TO i_events.
6)
CALL METHOD texte->set_registered_events
EXPORTING
events = i_events
EXCEPTIONS
cntl_error = 1
cntl_system_error = 2
illegal_event_combination = 3
OTHERS = 4.
IF sy-subrc <> 0.
MESSAGE ID sy-msgid TYPE sy-msgty NUMBER sy-msgno
WITH sy-msgv1 sy-msgv2 sy-msgv3 sy-msgv4.
ENDIF.
These are the basic steps needed for handling events in Textedit control.You can go to SE24 and type CL_GUI_TEXTEDIT to find the associated events of the class.
If you want the program, kindly send your mail-id so that I can mail it to you.

What is the recommended way to handle mouse click events for custom nodes that subclass Panes?
Hi,
I have created a custom node that is a StackPane containing a Label on top of a Polygon.
import javafx.scene.control.Label;
import javafx.scene.layout.StackPane;
import javafx.scene.paint.Color;
import javafx.scene.shape.Polygon;
public class CustomHexagon extends StackPane {
private Polygon hexagon;
private Label overlayText;
public CustomHexagon( String text, double... points ) {
this.hexagon = new Polygon( points );
this.overlayText = new Label( text );
overlayText.setStyle( "-fx-font-weight: bold;" );
hexagon.setStroke( Color.GREEN );
hexagon.setStrokeWidth( 5.0 );
hexagon.setFill( Color.WHITE );
this.getChildren().addAll( hexagon, overlayText );
// Lays out the node where it should be according to the points provided for the Polygon.
this.setLayoutX( points[0] - getLayoutBounds().getMinX() );
this.setLayoutY( points[1] - getLayoutBounds().getMinY() );
// Show the border of the StackPane.
this.setStyle( "-fx-border-color: black; -fx-border-width: 1; -fx-border-style: dashed;");
public String getOverlayText() {
return overlayText.getText();
I want to display a tesselation of these custom hexagons. Because a CustomHexagon is a StackPane, not a Polygon, MouseClick events can be picked up when the mouse is clicked outside of the stroke of the hexagon but still within the StackPane (which takes up a rectangle larger than the hexagon). The following program demonstrates this.
public class Main extends Application {
@Override
public void start(Stage primaryStage) {
Group root = new Group();

After running this program, when one clicks within the intersection of two StackPanes (borders shown by dashed lines), the target of the mouse click event will be the StackPane on top as determined by the order in which they were added to their parent.
This is a problem because there is only a small "T" shaped area within each hexagon that when clicked will target that hexagon with an event, rather than adjacent nodes.
I would appreciate any reccomendations to solve this problem.
Thanks,
James GillerHello, this is an evergreen. Just call setPickOnBounds(false) on the CustomHexagon.

Project Server 2010 - Triggering event handler on click event of PDP
Hi,
We are trying to trigger an event handler/ process on click event of PDP page (similar to Project Details Page). Users do not have rights to checkin the project.
So just on click event of pdp - an event handler or process should trigger.
Could you please suggest me best possible way for the same? Thanks.

1. SharePoint timer Job is malfunctioning:
For this try restarting SharePoint timer Job. through SP Powershell:
Stop SPTimerv4 , Start SPTimerv4
2: SharePoint Cache is full:
Reset SharePoint Cache by deleting all XML files ( except cache.ini
) in SharePoint Cache located in System Drive\ProgramData\Microsoft\SharePoint\Config\

3: Check if Microsoft Project Server Event Service is running in Services.msc, try restarting it. -

How to handle mouse click event on up-arrow of JSpinner?
Hi Everybody,
I have a JSpinner component holding a date field in it (dd/mm/yyyy). I have handeled keyboard up and down arrow key events for the component and that's working as expected. Now I want to make it work for mouse clicks on the up (UP_ARROW_SUBCOMPONENT) and down arrow (DOWN_ARROW_SUBCOMPONENT) buttons of the component.
Could somebody guide me how to do it? My investigatoin hints me to use JSpinnerMouseEventData but I am not exactly getting how to get it done.
Thanks in advance!if you just want to add a mouseListener to the spinner's buttons, try this
(only coded it for the up/next button)

import java.awt.*;
import java.awt.event.*;
class Testing
public void buildGUI()
JSpinner spinner = new JSpinner(new SpinnerNumberModel(50, 0, 100, 5));

protected Component createNextButton()
Component c = super.createNextButton();
c.addMouseListener(new MouseAdapter(){
public void mousePressed(MouseEvent me){
System.out.println("mousie, going up");
return c;
JFrame f = new JFrame();
f.getContentPane().add(spinner);
f.pack();

Hello,
In my FLEX application i have a SWFLoader where i load some wsf files that are located in others places in the web. Some of the swf files loaded contain an hyperlink associated and, when the swf file is clicked, a new web page is opened.
So, i need to count the number of clicks made in the SWFLoader but, in the case when the swf file has an hyperlink associated, the click event is not fired. What can i do to detect if a click was made in the SWFLoader?
Thanks in advance for your help.Hi carlos_sousa4,
Check the below code loading the Flash SWF in to Flex application.. and handling a click event on the Flash SWF Button in the Flex app..

<mx:Application xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml"
layout="vertical"
backgroundAlpha="0"
backgroundColor="#FFFFFF">
<mx:Script>

import mx.controls.Button;
import mx.controls.Alert;
private var loadedSWFMainTimeline:*;
public function onSWFLoadComplete():void {
Alert.show("onSWFLoadComplete");
//loadedSWFMainTimeline gets you a reference to the Flash SWF MainTimeline
loadedSWFMainTimeline = swfLoader.content;
if(loadedSWFMainTimeline)
var _button:SimpleButton = loadedSWFMainTimeline.button_btn as SimpleButton;
_button.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,onMCButtonClick);
public function onMCButtonClick(event:MouseEvent):void {
if(loadedSWFMainTimeline)
Alert.show("HELLO SWF LINK CLICKED");

</mx:Script>
<mx:SWFLoader id="swfLoader" source="assets/flashswf.swf" complete="onSWFLoadComplete();"/>
</mx:Application>
Note : In the above code button_btn is the Flash button instance of the SWF file and the corresponding type in the Flex will be SimpleButton...In your post you said that you are using a HyperLink so may be you should flash.text.TextField datatype instead of SimpleButton.
Try to debug by putting a break point at onSWFLoadComplete function and watch the loadedSWFMainTimeline varibale you will come to know the exact type and the other parameters in the SWF file.
If this post answers your question or helps, please kindly mark it as such.

Hello,
I'm trying to select multiple lines of a matrix clicking on any fields of a row. I can capture the event of the click and select the line clicked, but I'm not able to select multiple lines that way. I need to select the lines with modifiers in mind. I can make a click in the first column to select the line too, but I don't know how to perform a click with modifiers.
Thanks in advanceI think this is not what Martin needs, but simulate a click with modifiers.
We have the same problem. The matrix selection mode is BoMatrixSelect.ms_Auto. What we want to do is that when any column is clicked, it will behave as it was clicked on firts column (the one that is able to select rows). The problem is that Shift or Control button could be pressed too, which should select more rows than the clicked one. We know how to handle the click event with modifiers, but we don´t know how to send a click on the first column with them.
We haven´t found any solution to this.

Problem in handling double click in the second alv grid control
Hi all,
I have a screen. In the screen , I have 2 custom container and each custom container has 1 alv grid control.
I need to handle double click event for both of alv grid controls in my screen.
I defined 2 local event handler class for each alv grid and defined 2 handle_double_click event.
In the first Alv grid double click works fine , everything is ok, world is peaceful.
But in the second alvgrid, the row parameters (E_ROW, E_COLUMN, ES_ROW_NO) comes initial so i cannot handle it.
All i need is to call a different transaction (displaying the equipment-IE03) when user double-click on a field in the second alv grid control. I tried to use hotspot_click event too but it does'nt give the row id either.
I read some posts in the forms ([Double click event of alv grid control|Double click event of alv grid control]).
I tried everything but nothing works.
Please help. Your answers will be appreciated.Hello Eagle
I am not sure where the problem lies in your case but sample report ZUS_SDN_THREE_ALV_GRIDS_01 shows that you can always find out the current cell after the double-click event (in any case you have the current cell already as IMPORTING parameters of the event):

Image Click Event in html text
Is there a way to attach event with the image inside html
text in TextArea control. Just like we can attach text event with
link tag?
One possible solution is to enclose the image in
tag making it a link and setting its href to generate text event. I
have already tried this and it works fine. But is there any other
way to do that.
ThanksHi Prabhavathi,
Here is how you handle double click events in Textedit control.
1)Create a custom control in screen (say TEXT_CONTROL)
2)In main program,
a) Declarations:
data: obj type ref to cl_gui_custiom_control.
text type ref to cl_gui_textedit.
b) Create the instance of custom container
c) Create the instance of textedit control.
3)Now to handle double click events , create a local class as follows.
class shail_event definition.
public section.
methods:
handle_doubleclick for event dblclick of cl_gui_textedit .
endclass.
class shail_event implementation.
method handle_doubleclick .
here do the coding for handling the double click.
