HP T510 - 2nd Monitor Constantly Turns off

Good morning, I have a couple of Thin Clients that keep loosing connections to the 2nd monitor. To get them back on the user has to reboot the thin client. Updated Firmware and as far as I have seen they have had all updates applied as applicable. The company standard is to have a screen saver but I could disable it locally at the thin client. The problem is if it gets set again when its updated. Just checking to see if there is a known fix for this. Thanks

Hello ITTech1,
You may also want to post your question in the Enterprise/Business forums since you have Thin Clients.

Lol, figured out the first part. Just for those who may be searching, when you click on the Display Preferences, and click on the arraingment tab... it not only shows where your two screens will be displayed, but the WHITE BAR at the top of one screen is the dock/toolbar. Click and hold to grab this and just slide it over to the screen you'd like it to be on.
You have to release it IN the screen box, not on top of it... and it should pop right over to the new (or old) screen. At any rate, you can put the dock on either (or any) screen that you prefer.
I am thinking of ordering more of these. Lol. 3 monitor setup seems like it would be crazy good.
Still looking for the answer to keeping the new 16" screen on the right without switching between screen #s with that... not expose... Lion feature.
Thanks. Hope my other question has an answer out here.

  • My iPhone 3GS is constantly turning off without warning. Help?

My iPhone 3GS has been constantly turning off and turning back on without warning, but my battery life is at 90%! It has been doing this for a few days, and it doesn't even stay on long enough for me to type in my password. I have tried charging it, holding in the sleep/home button, and turning it off. Nothing seems to work. Help?

Basic troubleshooting is reset, restart, restore.
Although the issue described could be a battery or system board issue.

  • Why does my phone constantly turn off on its own as if the battery is dead?

why does my phone constantly turn off on its own as if the battery is dead? Its so annoying! Every day once my battery life span is at about 40%, my phone will start shutting down with the dead battery sign once it is down. Then after about 3 minutes i can turn it back on.

Tons of people have this problem with iPhone 4S and 5, whether they are on iOS 6 or 7. You can only hope that one day Apple realizes that this bug (software ? hardware ?) is a *real* pain. So far, they haven't paid attention.

  • Macbook Pro Retina (late 2013) & 10.10.1 cannot detect the external monitor is turned off

I connect my MBPr (late 2013) to a 24" Dell monitor via HDMI using a high quality audioquest hdmi cable.
When I turn off my Dell monitor, the MBPr did not detect the monitor is being turned off.
Let's say I opened a chrome browser and I move it to the external monitor.   If I turn off my Dell monitor now, the chrome browser will not automatically move back to the MBPr screen.
I have the same scenario if I just power on my MBPr now and not power on the Dell monitor.   I will do this if I need to do some small stuff (like typing this post) int he middle of night and I don't want to turn on my Dell monitor.
I am not sure if this is a problem or this is a normal behaviour of the MBPr.  I was like this when I was on Mavericks.
PS. If I connect my Lenovo laptop to the same monitor and I turn off my monitor, the opened applications will go back to the Lenovo screen.

The hardware supports DP1.2 and MST but unfortunately at present OS X Mavericks does not.

I would suggest you try uninstalling the Lenovo Energy Management driver then reboot your computer.  Once your computer restarts then install a fresh copy of the Lenovo Energy Management driver.  You didn't mention if your Windows 7 was 32 or 64 bit edition so I have included links to both versions of the Energy Management Driver.
Click here for the Windows 7 32 bit driver.
Click here for the Windows 7 64 bit driver.

  • QIP 7100 2 boxes constantly turning off

    I've got 2 QIP 7100 2 boxes
they turn off constantly (go into standby)
    this messes with my DVR!
I don't want verizon's DVR, i want my DVR to work. It would work great if the boxes would stay on for more than 30 minutes to 2 hours at a time.
    What can be done?
    thanks

The only I can suggest is to reboot the STB then go back in and check to make sure the sleep timer is set to never and see what happens.

  • Monitors randomly turn off!

We have a PowerPC G5 which works perfectly fine (or was). We moved it to a different part of the office to be used by somebody else.
At the old location it was hooked up to 2 CRT LaCie monitors. At the new location it's hooked up to 2 LCD monitors.
While the editor is working, the monitors will randomly turn off for a few seconds, and then turn back on! There has been no system changes since the move, nor any new software installed (to my knowledge). On his old mac (a slower PowerPC G5), his 2 LCD monitors worked perfectly fine. Any idea what's going on?

cheak your graphics card. I think I reading post that the ATI has overheating issues, expecially when dusty. I have a 2008 Mac Pro with the 2600, and have similar problems.

  • T61p 6459CTO monitor wont turn off

    Hello,
Been having a problem with my thinkpad T61p (bios dated 6/6/2008)
I'm using windows XP pro 32bit, fully up to date and have killed all non essential programs from taskman that i can think of and my computer STILL wont turn off its LCD monitor (via energy star count down or FN-F3 shortcut)
it shuts off fine for a couple minuets but then randomly wakes up as if i have touched the mouse or a key...I'm thinking it has to be either a service or an application im overlooking but have no idea where to start...i will provide logs upond request.
    Can anyone help?

everything i could see in bios relating to waking has been disabled from the start.
Ubuntu 8.10 has no problems keeping the monitor off until i move the mouse or hit a key, its just windows XP ... is there a way to see what handle or program is interupting the sleep mode on my LCD?

  • Client Monitors Not Turning Off at Login Screen

I manage a video production system with 16 Mac Pros and 4 Xserves all on an XSan System. I use Workgroup Manager to handle Access and other stuff. Starting two months ago, The computer monitors on all Mac Pros will not go to sleep when they are on the login screen. The monitors are supposed to turn off after 30 minutes when no one is on the computer. I have tried everything I can think of. I have set this in Workgroup Manager for the computers individually and the computer group they are apart of; the local admin on each client; and even in the client root account using Unix commands from Remote Desktop. Still the monitors are allways on if the login screen is showing. If a client is logged in, the monitors shut off correctly after 30 minutes of idle time.

Many Open Directory problems can be resolved by taking the following steps. Test after each one, and back up all data before making any changes.
    1. The OD master must have a static IP address on the local network, not a dynamic address.
    2. You must have a working DNS service, and the master's hostname must match its fully-qualified domain name. To confirm, select the server by name in the sidebar of the Server application window, then select the Overview tab. Click the Edit button on the Host Name line. On the Accessing your Server sheet, Domain Name should be selected. Change the Host Name, if necessary. The server must have at least a three-level name (e.g. "server.yourdomain.com"), and the name must not be in the ".local" top-level domain, which is reserved for Bonjour.
    3. The primary DNS server used by the master must be 127.0.0.1 (that is, itself) unless you're using another server for internal DNS. The only DNS server set on the clients should be the internal one, which they should get from DHCP if applicable.
    4. Follow these instructions to rebuild the Kerberos configuration on the master.
    5. If you use authenticated binding, check the validity of the master's certificate. The common name must match the hostname and domain name. Deselecting and then reselecting the certificate in Server.app has been reported to have an effect in some cases.
    6. Unbind and then rebind the clients in the Users & Groups preference pane. Use the fully-qualified domain name of the master.
    7. Reboot the master and the clients.
    8. Don't log in to the server with a network user's account.
    9. As a last resort, export all OD users. In the Open Directory pane of Server, delete the OD server. Then recreate it and import the users. Ensure that the UID's are in the 1001+ range.

  • Tactic3D Rage Wireless Constantly Turns Off while Charging

I got the Tactic3D Rage Wireless a couple of years ago and it has had many problems from the time I received it. I eventually got the others fixed, or mostly fixed, but this one has been annoying me increasingly in the past few months.
The headset not only rapidly connects and disconnects with Windows 8 (I think it is a problem with windows and not the headset for this one), but it also turns off the second I turn it on while charging. This makes the headset completely useless when I am charging it. This would not be as bad, but now the headset will not actually charge when it is on its charger. After it "charges" for a few hours, I take it off of the charger and I immediately begin to hear the beeping, notifying me that the headset is low on battery.
I finally made an account on these forums after a couple of days failing at searching for this problem with others so now I am posting this. Help is greatly needed for I don't want to be forced to spend more money on another headset if I can get this one fixed. Please reply with any questions I have not answered, and have a good day.

    Hi Logo594
You may want to refer to this article, specifically the last paragraph of the article regarding charging.
    http://support.creative.com/kb/ShowA...spx?sid=111092
You also mentioned that this headset is at least a couple of years old, so it is possible that the battery
does not hold its charge well. If this still does not work, You may contact Support here.
    Cheers,
    Colin-CL

  • Imac constantly turning off, sporadicly.

So, for about more than a year my mac has been turning off at random. Sometimes more often than not, but it happens atleast once a day.
I have tryed almost every solution, ive braught it in to apple sotre. But there is no problems they say.
Ihave tryed UPS, different sockets, but to no avail
It will work at other peoples houses, so i assumed it was a house problems. So  we called in technitians and found no problems with the house, except high voltage. Is that a problem?
is there anything else i can try to resolve this issue?
    open to anytrhing..

So, for about more than a year my mac has been turning off at random.
You should have called Apple tech support ASAP while you were under warranty.  If you have AppleCare, strongly suggest that you call them and tell them exactly what you stated in your post.  Make sure they are aware that the Apple Store told you "there was nothing wrong."  You should have insisted especially if you were still under warranty or have AC.
When troubleshooting, make sure nothing is connected to your computer except for the keyboard & mouse.  Try the following:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964 Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
If need be, take your computer to another Apple Store or an AASP for repairs.  Not the one that told you nothing was wrong.
    GOOD LUCK!
