Hp wireless laser mini mouse will not scroll pages with the wheel

Hello, I switched to firefox as my main browser, much better than IE9 in vista 32 bit. I am using a Hp Pavilion entertainment PC laptop with a HP wireless mini mouse and the scroll wheel will not move the web pages up or down, works okay in IE9. I can use the keyboard to scroll and cursor click arrows okay, I really like the mouse wheel better. Thanks for your help.

hello Thegman50, have you already tried installing the latest drvier version that is available for this mouse model from: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=no-75205-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&os=2093&product=3209078&sw_lang= ?

  • TS3048 My keyboard will connect wirelessly but my mouse will not. I've put new batteries in the mouse and the green light is blinking but it just won't connect!!! I don't have a 'wired' mouse so I can't get into preferences etc!!! Pls help

My keyboard will connect wirelessly but my mouse will not. I have tried many times, put new batteries in etc. The Bluetooth appears to be on (as the wireless keyboard is working). I don't have a 'wired' mouse so I can't get into preferences etc. Is the mouse dead perhaps? The green light is flickering so it should be ok???
    Thank you for your help

From what you say I would suggest the batteries are not connecting properly.
First, thoroughly clean all contacts, both inside the mouse and the contact points of the batteries.  Use an alcohol based cleaner (whisky will do, hic!)  dampen (not wet) cotton buds for cleaning.
Then check to see if they fit firmly.   If you can shake your mouse and hear things are loose, that will be the batteries.   Check the make.   Apple and Duracell, in that order, are the best batteries.   Where slight undersizing has been reported they are with other than the foregoing.
You can resolve the size problem with appropriate packing but that will always be a makeshift solution.  After, reassemble, turn on the mouse and with luck, away you go.
Hopefully this will solve your problem but in any case let us know how you get on.

  • TS2662 trackpad and mouse will not scroll

On 27" iMac using OS 10.7.4, trackpad and mouse will not scroll or swipe, can point with both, click only with mouse, scroll only with keys on keyboard.  What have I done now??? They are all paired with good batteries. Have checked in settings and they are enabled to scroll.

In Lion the scrolling is natural i.e. reversed to the way that computers typically scroll. Think of the scroll as grabbing the page an moving it either up or down vs moving the scroll bar down up or down. Also, the scroll bars are "hidden" by default and only show up when you are scrolling.
Are you using and Apple mouse? If you go to the system preferences and then to the "mouse" section there are options to change the natural scrolling. And if you go to System Preferences and then to "general" you can set it to show or hide the scroll bars.
If this is not what the issue is let me know and let me know what mouse you are using because there is something else that it could be.

Magic mouse will not scroll horizontally

    We need far more information.
Has it previously scrolled horizontally?   Is the fault restricted to certain browsers or program facilities?   What machine are you using it on?    Has this problem appeared following an OS upgrade.

You have to remember, where the scroll ball is, there is a small gap which picks up dust and fluff.   That detritus gets everywhere and in your case affects the downward scroll.
Adding just a touch Linc Davis's suggestion, after you have vigorously rubbed the scroll ball on the pad, tap it on a hard surface from time to time.   Sometimes you will see small amounts of fluff appear.   You should also see dirty marks on the pad.

  • 10.10.1 magic mouse will not scroll now

10.10.1 magic mouse will not scroll now
    anyone else having this problem
mouse works... is recognized but the preference pane
has not swipe selection and i cannot turn off bluetooth

To resolve this issue try the following:
from the upper left corner of your screen click:
    1.  / system preferences / bluetooth
    2. Locate your mouse under the devices panel
    3. Remove your mouse
Click on it so it is highlighted in blue
Click in the blue "x" or you can click delete after you have selected your mouse.
    4. Reconnect your mouse (re "pair" ) your mouse
This should resolve the scrolling issue if it occurred after the 10.10.1 update.

  • Satellite L655-S5060 mouse will not scroll

Just had to have a new hard drive installed and now the touchpad mouse will not scroll.  I don't see anything in the mouse properties to "turn it on".  I have tried updating driver and it says it is up to date.  Windows 7.  Thanks in advance!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Were these the drivers you tried updating?
    Synaptics TouchPad Driver
You could also try going into the "Advanced" tab of "Mouse Properties," clicking "Advanced feature settings..." and then restoring defaults. I agree that there doesn't seem to be anything about the normal scrolling, but maybe something is interfering.

  • I updated our iPad a week ago to 8.1 (12B410) and since then most apps will not close down with the 4 fingers swiping in.

I updated our iPad a week ago to 8.1 (12B410) and since then most apps will not close down with the 4 fingers swiping in. The only way to close them down is to hit the middle bottom button twice then swipe upwards. Is anyone else having this problem and how do I fix it?

This has been happening to me as well with an iPad 3 running iOS 8.1. This is what I do and it works for me. Toggle the setting for Multitasking Gestures off and then on again, Settings>General>Multitasking Gestures>Off. Then toggle it on again.
I have to repeat the sequence from time to time as I have not found a permanent fix. I think that iOS 8 is by far the buggiest iOS release that I have used since I have owned an iOS device.
