HSP_USERS table

Gurus,
I have a question about HOW TO SEE THE CONTENTS OF HSP_USERS table?
I mean if I want to see it using SQLPLUS what command would I use to see the contents?
I used
select table_name from user_tables COMMAND, but it does not show the HSP_USERS.
Can someone suggest something please?

select * from HSP_USERS;
that should return the details from the table if you are logged in with the schema user, otherwise you might need
select * from <schema>.hsp_users;
so if your planning application was in the planbud schema you would use
select * from planbud.hsp_users;
It may be more beneficial if you have a look at using a product with a GUI like SQLDeveloper as it will return the information in a nice format.
Cheers
John

  • Donot find user id 50001 in the HSP_USERS table

    Hi All,
I am using EPM 11.1.1.1.0 and want to import a planning application. In one of the threads i read that you need to keep a backup of SID from HSP_USERS table in the schema where the USER)iD = 50001.
But i donot have a record in the HSP_USERS table with that user id (50001).
Can anybody please explain why i do not have it...
    Thanks in advance...
    Alicia

    Hi,
Sometimes you don't have to update any records in the HSP_USERS table, if the migration is between planning applications that use the same shared services then you don't need too.
Also if you created the planning application with the default admin account as this doesn't change between environments.
If you do need to change it, change the record where the role = 3, make sure it is the same username between environments as well.
    Cheers

  • Hyperion Planning migration error while refreshing/creating Essbase cube

    Hi,
I'm migrating a Hyperion Planning application (11.1.1.4) to a complete other environment (due to the split of the companies). I have read most post on otn, but unfortunately nothing that helped me to solve the issue, yet... I hope someone can help me. Thanks in advance!
I have executed the following steps:
    1. Create a new Oracle database
    2. Create a datasource to the Oracle database and to Essbase (both tested succesfully)
    3. Create a fresh planning application (I have used a native Admin account and not the original owner)
    4. Go into the database tables for the planning app and look at table HSP_USERS, store the SID value against user 50001
    5. Go into the database planning system tables and HSPSYS_APPLICATION, clear out the version field for the application you have created - I did not do this since I could not delete this value. null is not accepted.
    6. Stop Planning
    7. Restore the planning application database over the one created in the first step (I had to drop the existing tables first)
    8. Go into the HSP_USERS table and update the SID for user id 50001
    9. Start planning
    10. Log on to planning and I did see the webforms, etc as expected.
    11. Now, when I try to refresh the database, I receive an error:
    Cube refresh/create in progress
    Status failed
    Step 4 Adding dimensions
    java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: getAttributeType
Does anyone has an idea? Hope someone can help me since the deadline is getting closer and closer.
    Thanks!
    Kind Regards
    Martin

    Hi John,
    Thanks for your reply.
I have exactly done what you have described. I droped the schema and recreated it with an impdp to import.
But, in the meantime I have been investigating the dimensions and there's indeed something very wrong. Some dimensions have been mixed up. In the 'old' environment I have 10 stored dimensions and 4 attribute dimensions (as well as in EAS as in Planning, offcourse as you expect). In the 'new' environment, two stored dimensions have been mixed up with two attribute dimensions.... How is that possible?
I have never seen that. Could this be caused by the reason that we use a different version of Oracle (11G release 2 vs 10G (10.2.0.4))? Or went something wrong with exporting the schema...? Can you tell me what I can do to investigate this?
    Thanks!
    Kind Regards,
    Martin

  • Migration from 3.5.1 to 9.3.0

    Hi,
I am also trying to migrate from 3.5.1 to 9.30 and getting an error unsuceesful log on.
I have instralled 3.5.1 on a different machine Windows server 2003 and Oracle 9i.
I ahve installed 9.3.0 on other machine and Oracle 10G.
While creating the application on 3.5.1 it has taken the user ge_adm ( which is also my windows NT login).
Now when i am trying to create user on 3.5.1, it comes with error invalid user name. Its not taking admin as user id also.
Now I am trying these steps for migration:
    1. Copy the HspJSHome.properties file that you backed up before installing Planning 9.3.0.1
to the same folder that contains the new PlanningSystemDB.properties file. The location is
based on the application server being used.
    2.Run the PropFileMig utility (PropFileMig.cmd) located in <drive letter>:
    \Hyperion\Planning\Utils
Launch the Hyperion Configuration Utility. Under Planning, perform the Edit Datasource
task for each application you want to upgrade.
    4. Restart the Planning application server and log on to Planning using this URL: http://
    <hostname>:8300/HyperionPlanning/LogOn.jsp.
these 4 steps ran succesfully. However I have started facing problem from 5th step onwards.
Select the application you want to migrate from the drop-down list of applications. A
message is displayed that the application version needs to be migrated.
    6. Enter your username and password again and select the application. Then click Migrate
(note that the LogOn button changed to Migrate). The application is migrated to the 9.3.0.1
release and you are logged on.
No migration button is there and I am not able to login in to the migrated application.
Please let me know what should I do?
    Need urgent help.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Pankaj Mehta.

    Hi,
The steps I usually take are (I am basing this on version 9.3.1 though but I dont think it differs that much) :-
Create a fresh planning application on version 9.3.0 make sure the admin is the same name as your old 3.5.1 planning app
Go into the oracle tables for the planning app and look at table HSP_USERS, store the SID value against user 50001
Go into the oracle planning system tables and HSPSYS_APPLICATION, clear out the version field for the application in question.
    Stop Planning
Drop your 9.3.0 Planning App schema and Copy your old 3.5.1 planning oracle schema into the same locatiion
Go into the HSP_USERS table and update the SID for user id 50001
    Start planning
Go to planning web and you should see your application when you try and log in it should take you to a migrate screen.
    Hope this is a start.

  • Planning application Migration

    Hi
I referred earlier migration post Migration of Hyperion Planning Application
and come out with one thing related to SID, If the application owner for the target application is different:
Go into the database tables for the planning app and look at table HSP_USERS, store the SID value against user 50001means i should go to target server schema and copy the SID against user 50001 for later use.
    8. Go into the HSP_USERS table and update the SID for user id 50001means paste SID against 50001 in target server which i copied in earlier step (after replacing the schema in target server from source schema) (schema are similar at target and source)

These steps are required if the source/target application owner is not the default admin account.
Once you create your blank planning application on the target, go into the table and store the SID.
After you have migrated the schema, go in and then paste the sid your stored above.
    Cheers

By any chance is the Planning application user from an external authentication provider, that is MSAD or LDAP? If it is, there is a problem in Planning when a user changes its DN (Distinguished Name) if that is the Identity Attribute you are using for you external provider. There are something you can do to fix this, such as running the UpdateUsers.cmd in the /Hyperion/HyperionPlanning/Utils folder, this utility will find your existing planning users and see if they have undergone any changes, and update them with the correct DN. Just be careful using this utility, because if a user has been disabled or deleted from you external authentication provider, it will also be removed from you Planning application.
One thing you can do is go in the HSP_USERS table of you planning application and check the SID value you user app owner has. Check its value with your MSAD or LDAP administrator to validate if the value is correct or not. If incorrect you wont be able to login to you planning app until this is fixed, either by running the updateusers.cmd or by editing the SID value directly on the table.
Workspace doesn't present this problem with external authentication providers, it automatically detects the new DN or identity attribute of you user each time you login it.

  • Migration 9.3 to 11.1.2

    Hi all
Want to know how data is migrated while migrating planning 9.3 to 11.1.2. Do we need to extract and load it again ?
Got to know the below top level steps from one of the thread. But it didnt say about data. Can anybody give me some light ?
    Thanks
    1. Create a new database on TARGET Server for your planning application.
    2. Configure a data source on TARGET Planning Server.(Use the same schema name in used in the development)
    3. Create fresh planning application on TARGET Server and Ensure the admin is the same as your planning application on Development Server.
    4. Go into the database tables for the planning app on TARGET Server and look at table HSP_USERS; store the SID value for user 50001
    5. Go into the database planning system tables on TARGET Server and access HSPSYS_APPLICATION table, clear out the VERSION field for the application you have created.
    6. Stop Planning.
    7. Restore the planning application database on TARGET Database (restore from backup file created in SOURCE SERVER).
    8. Go into the HSP_USERS table and update the SID for user id 50001 (if not exist search role=3)
    9. Start planning
    10. Go to planning web and you should see your application when you try and log in it should take you to a migrate screen.
    11. If you are requiring to migrate users as well, you will have to make sure you create them in Shared Services and then use the updateusers utility in the planning bin directory.

Yes you will need to export the data from each essbase database and then load into the databases on your 11.1.2 environment.
The steps outlined in your post are just to move the planning applications relational piece.
    Cheers

Please send me the steps to Migrate the same.
My Test instance has one Planning applciation "PlanApp"
In Production I just installed the Planning, I ahve not created any applicaion yet, but wanted to copy from my test instance.
    Thanks

    Hi,
This topic has been covered quite a few times now on this forum, a bit of searching will give you all the answers you need but in summary :-
Create a new planning app on production
    Register with shared services.
Make it is the same admin name account betwen test and prod.
Go into the oracle schema on prod for your app, extract the SID value from the HSP_USERS table where the user_id = 50001
    Stop Planning on prod
Take an export of the planning app schema on Test
Import the schema over the top of the schema on Prod
Update the HSP_USERS table with the stored SID value on prod.
    Restart Planning.

What I can tell is what happens in the background when it migrates, it runs SQL from version to version, the SQL is in <hyperionhome>\Planning\config\sql
It also updates the version and release in table HSP_SYSTEMCFG
So from 3.5.1 to 9.3.1 it would run
    migSQLDB4_0.sql
    migSQLDB4_0_1.sql
    migSQLDB4_1.sql
    migSQLDB4_2.sql
    4_1_1Migration_SQLServer.sql
    9_3_0Migration_SQLServer.sql
    9_3_1Migration_SQLServer.sql
    In HSP_SYSTEMCFG
    set Version to 9
    Release to 31
In the Planning System database, table HSPSYS_APPLICATION, set version to HP-9.3.1
Then it would do the equivalent of a restart of the planning service by clearing the cache.

  • Hyperion Workforce Planning - 100K employees - 11.1.2.2

    Hi to all,
I am facing quite a challenge on this one. My clients requirements for a budget/simulation employee application is to load all existing employees into Hyperion workforce Planning.
I know it sound odd loading all the 100K employees from Peoplesoft, I finished installing Workforce, next step is to start stress testing by loading 10K employees,20K etc.
Any of you has similar experiences with large employee numbers? Any Issues with the existing employees forms?
    Please share your thoughts.
    Regards to All
    yannis

If it is the default admin account then there shouldn't be a problem because the native SID should stay the same.
If it is a different native admin account then this will change and you would have to update it in the HSP_USERS table.
Sometimes it is easier to log into planning on the source environment, update the application owner to be admin, create an application on your target environment with admin, then migrate.
Once the migration has finished you can always change the application owner to another admin account.

  • Can Planning V4.02 be migrated / upgraded to Planning System 11.1.1.1 ?

    Hello,
I was wondering if it possible to migrate a Planning v4.02 application over to Planning System 11.1.1.1 and if there is any documenation that can support this question. I see other threads that discuss upgrading from S9 to S11 but not don't see any discussion on v4.02.
    Thank you,
    Tony

    Hi John,
Sorry to re-hash this old thread, but, shouldn't i be able to follow your instructions below to migrate from System 9.3.1 to System 11.1.1.1 ? Or am i missing something here.... This worked great from Version 4.02 to System 9.3.1.
    1. Create a fresh planning application on version 9.3.0 make sure the admin is the same name as your old 3.5.1 planning app
    2. Go into the oracle tables for the planning app and look at table HSP_USERS, store the SID value against user 50001
    3. Go into the oracle planning system tables and HSPSYS_APPLICATION, clear out the version field for the application in question.
    4. Stop Planning
    5. Drop your 9.3.0 Planning App schema and Copy your old 3.5.1 planning oracle schema into the same locatiion
    6. Go into the HSP_USERS table and update the SID for user id 50001
    7. Start planning
    8. Go to planning web and you should see your application when you try and log in it should take you to a migrate screen.
    Thanks

  • Urgent-Failed to Syn with Native Directory

    Helllo,
I'm getting this error "Sync with user provisioning succedded with Errors. See Planning log for details" while I'm login to Planning Application. We are using Native Directory. Please help
    Rahul

    Hi,
If it the application owner/creator was admin on the source environment and the same on the target environment then you shouldn't have to do anything extra if you migrated the repository correctly.
If not then you will have to store the SID in the hsp_users table and update it once you have migrated.
    Cheers

1.to sync native users after creating and deleting in Essbase with HSS without using MAXL command or full sync
2.to sync individual groups after modifying users in the group(without using MAXL or full sync)
    regards,
    Vinee

Per John's post, you are always going to get that NONE row in the filter as that indicates the user is provisioned to that Planning application.
Users (other than the one that want to remove) will continue to have that NONE row and then get other rows that open up access as they receive read/write rights.
The fix here is to get that user out of your Planning application. Once gone, Planning should get rid of the filter.
Failing Planning removing the filter, you can delete the filter manually.
If you have deleted it, and you think you have deprovisioned the user from Planning, and the filter still comes back -- well, now you have a problem that can only be addressed by going into the HSP_USERS table and deleting the username.
I would still quadruple check to make sure that the username is well and truly deprovisioned.
The Planning admin guide details CubeRefresh, and for a different approach, have a look at my blog re CubeRefresh.cmd (I can't remember if you are 9x or 11x, but they're awfully close) here.
