How do I remove unwanted songs from my iPhone? When I sync and remove playlists, the playlist no longer appears in the music app but the individual songs are still there...

Email it to yourself, then save the file and then see if you can convert it to MP3.

I went back to the service provider twice and they reactivated my phone the first time and the second time the tech rebooted the phone and told me how to tell if it was on my end or the other person's end. It does seem rather odd that an app that was acquired thru itunes would quit working once it was incorporated into the device for all users. oh well it was probably free or $.99 when I downloaded it.
I would think that they were just testing it to see how many people would use it. But you might want to write a polite letter to Apple requesting a credit for the purchase price of the no longer supported app. That seems to be the least they could for one of their 'alpha testers'.

You need to setup different Receive At addresses for iMessage.
If you don't want the same pics on each, turn off PhotoStream.

Have you copied your content over from your old computer and onto the new on ? If not, and you still have your old computer, then there a number of methods described on this page which you can use to copy your library over : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527 . If you no longer have your old computer then have you got a backup of your content that you can copy onto the new computer and add into iTunes ?

When I sync, I get a warning message that some files couldn't be downloaded because of an error. How do I trash them and redownload. These are purchased items and I don't want to lose them

When I sync my ipod, I get an error message telling me some files couldn't be synced. I think the files must be damaged somehow and I'd like to redownload them. The MacBook's hard drive lacks the necessary hardware drivers to boot the MacBook Pro even though it has a much newer OS on it; that's why simply moving it into the Pro doesn't work. Presumably you have a very old MB Pro, because only the very first MB Pro model (produced January to May 2006) was ever offered with an 80GB hard drive. Are you sure you want to move your big drive into such an old machine? The MacBook must be newer, because the first MacBook was introduced just as the first Pro model was discontinued.

Since I uploaded IOS6 I am not asked to sign into my apple ID when loading Apps. As a result the Apps are listed as 'waiting' but not loading... How can I get them to load?

Here is a list of things that you can try for the "waiting" downloads. These have worked for other users in the past, but YMMV. I'm not sure what account details that you want to see - but it is much more comprehensive using iTunes on your computer in order to view account details. You should be able to see the basic stuff in the Settings (iTunes & App Stores), or the App Store by tapping on your ID in the features tab and then tap View Apple ID, and enter your password.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your app preferences and device settings again.
If all else fails, download the updates or the apps in iTunes on your computer and then sync the content to your iPad.

If you backed up your photos on your computer, just sync back to your computer, and in iTunes, select Photos (with your device selected on the left side of iTunes window). Click to sync photos and select the photo album you want back on your device.

For example, in itunes on my computer a playlist has over 100 songs, but when I sync my phone, my iphone only shows 60 songs. I can go into my phone and add the missing songs to the playlist, but the next time I sync my phone the songs are gone again.

Wondering if you haven't been bitten by the new "feature" of iOS 5, as was my son. turingtest2 explained it very well in reply to my own query about "missing" songs in playlists.
