Try:
- Powering off and then back on your router.
- iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server
- Change the DNS to either Google's or Open DNS servers

OpenDNS IP Addresses
- For one user uninstalling/reinstalling iTunes resolved the problem
- Try on another computer/network
- Wait if it is an Apple problem

Hi, Did you work out a fix for this? All my calender dates (past & future) and the last 12 months of new contacts gone!!!! And yes i too back up regularly.
Previously when the great 5 upgrade happened, i did loss everything, and although I was doing backups none of that info was relative in an English way. A whole life of important, unreplaceable information gone! Never to be found.
All of my products are apple, but it seems that little people dont matter to them, with no recourse for the damage to my personal or professional life.

Syncing the 3GS is exactly the same as syncing the 4S - so just do the same as you've been doing.
How do you normally sync contacts from your Mac to your iPhone? Via iTunes over USB/WiFi, or via iCloud?

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion. Use your backup copy to put everything back.

Ok, here's a question for the restore/ backup pros.
On 1/4/14 I thought I would back up my iPhone 4s because it had been over a year (yeah, I know not a good idea to wait so long) since I had last backed it up (8/13/12, to be exact). So, when I connected it to my computer, iTunes recommended I update the iTunes software. So, I did. Somewhere in the middle of the update I noticed that my iPhone kinda "rebooted" and I saw what a friend of mine referred to as the "restore iPhone" image on it.
Then, I received an error message from iTunes saying that there was a problem with my iPhone & that I would have to restore it to factory settings. WTH!!!!
I went ahead and befored the restore. Oddly enough, I seemed to get all my data back. Heck, I even got emails & contacts that I added minutes before I tried to back it up. I thought I had dodged a bullet & then I started to notice Apps that were missing & other Apps that I had deleted long ago back on the iPhone.
Then, other anomolies surfaced, like photos missing, contacts missing, & worst of all the App that I used to store some really preceious pictures, photo vault, was also gone (and all my most precious pictures). Those pics were not in my camera roll any longer as I had moved them to this App.
Okay, I studied all I could on the net & learned where the backup files are stored on my computer and huh, it looks likes it took a back up right before (during?) the iTunes update that caused all this mess. The problem is, iTunes doesn't show this backup as one I can select when trying to restore it.
My Question is, "How can I restore my iPhone to the backup dated 1/4/14 that I can clearly see in the backup folder?"

There's a menu choice (I think under "Files") that lets you sync purchased items on a device back to itunes. Look for that.
iCloud does not store music. If you want to do that you'd have to subscribe to itunes Match, but to get music to the match servers, you need the music in the itunes library on your computer.

Hook the phone to the computer, open the Computer icon and look for the iPhone folder. Copy the images. Not difficult at all. Sync your contacts with Outlook through iTunes. Not really so difficult.

You can change the Apple ID used for purchasing on her phone by going to Settings>Store>Apple ID, tap the ID shown, sign out, sign back in using her Apple ID. How can I sync my mac's contacts to my iphone over the air with mobile?

I add about one or two contacts a day on my mac and want it to automatically upload to my iphone. I have my mac's mobile me to sync atomically. I don't get the push, fetch, manually thing. I don't want my phone to drain battery power to push my emails to my phone. I can do this manually. But, when I enter a contact on my mac, i want it to immediately go to my iphone. Also, when I enter a contract to my iphone, i would like it to co to mobile me, so when I look on the mac the contract is there. I have tried keeping push on and setting contacts to manually. This hasn't worked. i have tried having push on and having contracts manually selected as well as push selected in advance and NADA. No contracts are sync from the mac to iphone.

Hi Joseph. Try opening systems preferences on the Mac and go to mobileme. Just make sure under sync, that contacts are selected. Hope this helps.
