HT1600 I can't find the Air play icon on my IPad I have the latest one as 5.1.1
I have looked through the settings. I am logged onto my Wi-Fi and it does not want to appear. I only have my I-pad and the apple sky. This is really painful
Welcome to the Apple Community.
Try restarting the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds, or resetting it using the reset option under general. You should also try restarting your router and other devices.

stevie, a third party app called airparrot will give you the pretty much the same as mirroring and forks on Macs too old to mirror.

How can i find the air play icon because it isn't showing up
I cannot figure out how to use my air play. The air play icon is not visible when double tapping the home button. I own a MacBook Air, Iphone 4s and an iPad 3. All of my software is up to date and my wireless connection is the same.
Is the Apple TV up to daye? What software is it running currently? Have you enabled airplay?

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. Where is the "Air Play" icon in iTunes11?
I have iTunes 11.01.12 running on my PC with Windows XP. iTunes runs properly, but the "Air Play" icon is not visible in the header next to the volume slider, as indicated in the iTunes help guide. How do I get iTunes to display the "Air Play" icon?
I was able to fix this by following the instructions here [1]. It seems like this was specific to my Asus router, so not sure if others are seeing similar issues with other branded routers.

I am trying to mirror my iPad 2 with my Apple TV . I hit the home button twice, scrolled through the app icons but still do not see the air play icon? I did check to confirm that both devices are on the same network.
Yes they are both on the same network and I enabled air play on the TV. I finally located the icon on my iPad last night and succeeded in mirroring. It seems the instructions from apple were confusing me. They said tap the home button twice and then scroll to the right. The icon however is on the left side of the screen and shows as what I would call a button as opposed to an icon, located among the buttons of a mini player. Anyway, found it last night and now am enjoying the mirroring feature. Thanks for all the help.

Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
Check AirPlay is turned on on the Apple TV (turn it off and on if it already is)
Check that both devices are on the same network (Settings > Wifi, on the mobile device and Settings > General > Network, on the Apple TV).
Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Restart your router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
Restart your mobile device. -
Can't find a folder after upgrading to maverick and still have the previous OS

Last night I upgraded my mac to maverick...my previous OS was in Disk C and since it was showing that disk is full i had to put maverick in disk D..so i have two disks with OS that means less space for my personal use....also while putting maverick in D I already had a folder containing movies in it...When i am searching in spotlight i can get the movie but am not able to find it without it....Also how do i get rid of the previous OS and should i do that??ishica ghosh,
it sounds like what you’re calling your Mac’s internal space is what I’d call your Mac’s internal hard drive, and what you’re calling your three separate disks are what I’d call three partitions of your internal hard drive.
Let’s begin by approaching these aspects one at a time. On my Mac’s internal drive, only 22 GB of space is being used in total, including Mavericks and perhaps a dozen apps. If your Disk C has been sized to be 119 GB but it is mostly filled up, then it seems as though you must have significantly more apps or data installed there than just your old OS. Do you have more than one administrative user and one standard user under your old OS?
Here’s something that you can try to find out the amount of space that is being used by the user accounts on Disk C: boot into the old OS by holding down an Option key as you power up, use your cursor keys to select the OS on Disk C, and press the Return key. Log in as its administrative user, and from the Finder press Command-Shift-U to open the Utilities folder. Run Terminal.app in that folder. Within the Terminal window, give it the following command:
sudo du -sm /Users/*
This command will ask you for a password; give it the administrative user’s password. The password will not be displayed as you type it. Please copy the output from this command into your reply. -

Importing photos in iPhoto '06 freezes
