You can create an App store account without a credit card, however that won't help you with updating your previous purchases. Apps are DRM protected, and tied to the account that was used to originally purchase them. There is no way to overcome this DRM protection or transfer them to another account(Itunes support can if you contact them). If you want to create an App store account without a credit card, follow the directions here, but bear in mind the DRM protection mentioned. If you use this account to download free apps, you will have to use this same account for all future updates:

Hi, I've had my Air for a few days now, and since setting up my iCloud and linking with my gmail account, my iCal has started constatnly bugging my about a password entered incorrectly, it says, 'The password may hev been enetered incorrectly. Reenter the password for account 'Google' on the CalDAV server "calender.google.com".' I ran into the issue about 3 months ago and resetting my password fixed the issue (no pop-ups since the reset). As someone who supports about 25,000 users who are on Google Apps for Education I can comfortably say that this appears to be a pretty common fix. About once a week we get a call from a user who gets the username/password pop-up with correct credentials, when I encountered it myself I knew something had to be up.
Give the reset a try, also give it a few minutes (3 to 5 mins) before entering the new password into iCal. -
Firefox keeps freezing up and giving me the colorful spinning wheel especially when I'm chatting with a friend of facebook or when i'm listening to music on myspace or even have just two tabs open and it's never done it before but now it just keeps giving me the colorful spinning wheel and i have to force quit and start over.

It takes you to Adobe which tells you which ver of flash player you have - you can then see if there is a later ver by clicking on the library and it automatically selects the correct version for you to download.

I am trying to record music from a radio station to iTunes then to a CD. Is this possible? If it is how?
You'll need something like Audio Hijack or Wiretap to capture the output and save it in a file. You could then burn that file to CD just like any other track.

You installed a hacked app, originally from the Mac App Store. It contains the receipt for a different app, downloaded using an account that you don't control. You need to identify and remove the hacked app.
Important: The app you need to remove is not necessarily the one named in the App Store notice. For example, if the App Store says you need to update "Twitter," the hacked app may be "Angry Birds" or something else entirely. Don't make any assumptions about which app you're looking for. To find it, you have to carry out a systematic search.

Have made some slide show libraries on publisher then saved as jpg however when I sync through itunes to my ipad the previous import is over written. Can anyone offer a solution. Thanks

I also reported it as a bug to Apple although the response page said "we can't reply to messages"
For now I have had to turn off auto syncing and keep plugging and unplugging until the device is recognised correctly - about 1 in 10.

You will see from the Use Count that these are adjacent connections, ie plugged in as ipad then as iphone. Apart from the device class, everything else is the same. -
have been trying to download cc and lightroom thru it, but no luck. just keep getting put into loops with no further activity.

Am I infringing copyright if I do or have the radio stations already paid copyright?

I'm not a lawyer and this isn't legal advice, but I would use the analogy of video taping your favorite show on TV to watch later (or using a DVR). This, I believe is considered "fair use" of the product via what is called "time-shifting." This was the conclusion from the U.S. Supreme Court in the Betamax decision.
As long as you don't offer the show for sale, I think you're okay. -
When streaming a movie from an imac to apple tv, is there a way of putting the imac display off? I find it a waste having the screen on in another room. Any advice?
No problem.
This is a user forum so you are not addressing Apple. There's nothing to fix, that's how home-sharing works. There would be no way for the ATV to recognize your library and display content if the computer is in sleep mode.
You can always airplay from an IOS device or use icloud if you don't wish to keep the computer on. -

These errors typically occur when security software interferes with the restore and update process. Follow Troubleshooting security software issues to resolve this issue. In rare cases, these errors may be a hardware issue. If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.
Also, check your hosts file to verify that it's not blocking iTunes from communicating with the update server. See iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting—follow steps under the heading Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > Mac OS X > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store. If you have software used to perform unauthorized modifications to the iOS device, uninstall this software prior to editing the hosts file to prevent that software from automatically modifying the hosts file again on restart.

I have a slew of .MOD files I cannot play from our Canon video cam. I tried renaming the files as MPEG or MOV, I get the message "The document “001.MPEG” could not be opened. A required codec isn't available." Any advice on getting these to play? Thanks!
Try installing Perian or VLC. Some AVIs require a codec which simply isn't available for Mac OS X.

I went to icoke.ca and entered my pin to get a free song, but when I went to itunes to redeem it, its says that my code has already been used. Help!
It wont even accept my icoke pins! when I enter them (and there are two on the inside of the cap) it says its an invalid pin.. Other places online says this offer expired March 31, but on the bottle cap it says 12/31/2011 so I dont understand,. Why do you offer a free itune when one cant access it?

I have been experiencing periodic loss of touch screen response with my iPhone 6 when in landscape mode. Flipping to portrait then back to landscape usually corrects it, but at times I need to close and reenter the app.
