Erm having trouble transfering images from phone to computer, my computer is acer windows 7, always cannot see auto run for iphone 5 even if I change auto run to ask me everytime i connect my phone to the computer.

Transfer Photos from iPhone to PC:
On a Windows PC the easiest way to get pictures from your iPhone is to just use Windows Explorer, but there’s two ways to go about this:
Plugin your iPhone to the computer without iTunes running
Wait for a popup asking you what you want to do with the device
Select “View Content”
Find your photos through the folders that are displayed
Copy in Windows as usual
If your iPhone is already plugged into your PC, you can try this method:
Plugin your iPhone to your PC
Open “My Computer”
Find your iPhone, it will appear as any other camera would
Open iPhone to find your Photos
Select the pictures you want to copy to your computer and copy/paste them into the desired location on your PC

I found a webpage where a user reported the same issue as me.
He said he determined that "foreign pictures" -- meaning any pictures not taken using the iPhone's camera -- were the cause. Once he deleted the "foreign pictures" -- such as pictures obtained from receiving texts from others which included pictures that he saved onto the iPhone, then iTunes worked.
In my case, the fix was to upgrade the iPhone's OS from 5.1.1 to the latest version.
Now, both issues are solved:
Windows recognizes the iPhone as a storage device.
iTunes can see pictures that I've saved on the iPhone.

As stated above, you're only able to sync photos taken with the iPhone's camera.
I'm not sure if that application works flawlessly with the iPhone. Try using Scanner and Camera Wizard. It seems to work well on Win XP. Go to the Start menu> All Programs> Accessories> Scanner and Camera Wizard.

Step by step toturial on How to transfer photos from iphone to Mac:

iTunes doesn't allow use to copy photos/songs from iPhone to computer, it conly let you copy from computer to iTunes or device, But you can use Vibosoft iPhone/iPad/iPod to computer transfer or iStonsoft iPhone to computer transfer app, both of them can export everything from device to computer.
I agree with your, I also used Vibosoft program to copy songs from my iPhone 5c to computer, it export over 700 songs from my iPhone to laptop within 7 min, really nice!

So I was transferring vacation pictures and had no problem uploading pictures from my memory card into iPhoto but when I plugged in my iPhone and clicked 'import selected', a box came up saying "iPhoto cannot import your photos because there was a problem writing to the volume containing your iPhoto library". Connect your camera to the iMac with the USB cable that came with the camera. The complementary copy of iPhoto should launch without having to be prompted, open to the Import page and ask you if / what do you want to copy and then if you want to erase the photos from your camera's memory.
If, per chance, your iPhoto prefernces were changed from this behaviour, launch iPhoto, select Preferences from the iPhoto menu bar, select General and select iPhoto in the "Connecting camera opens:..." line.
BTW, every Mac also comes with a little utility called Image Capture that allows you to import the photos into a folder for manual management, but I recommend sticking with iPhoto.

Hello. I'd like to transfer photos from my iPhone to my Mac. I read (http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4083) that iPhoto is the standard application for that; I'd like to do without. I read that image capture (http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/8954/copy-photos-off-iphone-without-iph oto) or even Preview (http://osxdaily.com/2010/07/10/transfer-photos-from-iphone-to-computer/) could help. Neither of them see my iPhone although cable connected and iTunes does. So my question is two: If Preview and Image Capture are ineed supposed to, why don't they? And is there any other way?

I dont like iphoto so the easiest way to do it is using image capture, just plug in your iphone launch image capture from your applications folder and import all images or just selected images into any folder you want.
