how do I create an international itunes store account?

There is no such thing as an international iTunes Store. There are 120+ country-specific iTunes Store, each available only to residents of that country.
Please set up an account for the country in which you currently reside.

I've got as far as 'billing address' but it asks me where my billing address is, I say, "U.S." and it reverts me back to the U.S. iTunes store, does this mean i cannot purchase from international iTunes stores? Do I need to set up another account? I'm a bit confused and afraid to say 'yes' to things that my get charged that I don't want charged..

The way I understand it, you need a valid adress in a country whose iTS you want to use. Likewise, Europeans cannot use the American Store, which has a lot of things we don't have.
So, unless you know someone with a valid adress in one of these countries, I'm afraid you're out of luck.

You see,
some songs/albums i would like to purchase have not yet been added to U.S. iTunes, and i did some exploring on some webpages, and found that there are international iTunes stores.
And I was just curious why i wasn't able to purchase something in the Japanese iTunes store,
Currency?
or would i have to be a citizen?

Not sure about the official version but to me it is all about controlling the market. Apple will say it is a record label issue. One thing is for sure though, Apple are using their market share to overly inflate prices. Take Australia as a case in point.
We pay about 50% more for music here on iTunes than the US, why is this, mmmmmm might be something to do with the fact that we do not have access to Amazon.com music or Wal-Mart. In the UK Apple was forced to lower its rates to the same as the EU. Australia does not have the economic muscle so the prices are inflated because Apple can.
Currently the exchange rate is pretty close to 1-1 so how come we are paying (not me personally) $1.69 for the same track that sells for US$0.99
And the industry wonders why normal law abiding people turn to piracy. Hello music industry, there is a global economy happening, get to grips with it.

I have just bought an ipad 2 and wish to set up a new account as now I won't have to share with my sister. I want to get all the music off my current iTunes account & put it on to the ipad/new iTunes account. I'm not too sure how to do this though.... Please help lol :-) x

If you mean iTunes libraries or computer user accounts, just create one. To make a new iTunes library on Windows, launch iTunes with the Shift key held down and choose Create Library.

How do I register a different iTunes account as default on a laptop? I need to set my wife's iTunes a/c as the default on her laptop instead of mine. At the moment she cannot use iTunes or her iPod. Thanks

I first accessed my iTunes account using my wife's laptop. I then bought my own laptop and began using that for my iTunes account, so I am fine. However, I bought her an iPod which is effectively redundant because she can't seem to access her iTunes account using her own laptop - it just defaults to my iTunes account. I have tried de-authorising etc, and have even uninstalled and re-installed iTunes on her laptop to try to change the default settings, but none of this has worked. I can't believe it is that difficult to do this. She now has an iTunes account and an iPod which she doesn't use.
All I need to do is switch the default iTunes account for her laptop form mine to hers. Pls can anyone help? Thks

i'm not quiet sure atm but should normally work like this:
connect to itunes store -> log out with ur account (upper right corner where ur apple id is displayed) -> sign in with ur wifes apple id -> activate computer (store->activate this computer)
normally it should work this way but ur wife wont be able to use apps or music within itunes library purchased with the other apple id

International iTunes Store Use?

I'm in Japan for the next year, and the card linked to my iTunes account is based in America. Whenever I try to buy anything in the Japanese iTunes Store, it asks me to log in, and then tells me I'll be directed to the U.S. Store.
I have another credit card and debit card with me, but the addresses on them are also in America. I don't have a Japanese bank account. How am I supposed to buy things in the Japan Store?

You can only do business with a given country's iTunes Store if you are a resident of that country. You will either have to create a new account or change the details of your current account to establish your residency in Japan.
The reason why has to do with the business part of the music business. For a bit of insight into the present situation, have a look at This Business of Music (10th Edition) (by M. William Krasilovsky and Sydney Shemel) :

Need to set speaker destination in iTunes

I'm working on an update to an existing script for running iTunes. The existing script will fade up a particular playlist over time. What I want to do now is have the script channel the output to a remote set of speakers, do the fade up, play for a set amount of time, then reset the speaker output to the original source.
I have not had much luck finding any references on using Applescript to control which destination the music is routed to. The sources I've found all pre-date that ability. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I found a few bits that should help accomplish the goal. However, it is all UI and actually furthering of UI that uses scripted mouse clicking so it's not what I would call a pretty solution. But if it works, it works, right! Ok so the solution I found comes from a site called Perceptive automation. The full code and forum can be found here. The script needed for remote switching is part of a poster's larger script used to control itunes via email. The part that is relevant however is as follows...

International iTunes stores and movie rentals in english?

I'm subscribed in the Swiss store and I was really happy when I noticed we now get movie rentals! However it looks like movies are only available in German, French, or Italian. Is there a way to get the original audio version (in 99% of the cases: English)?

I have a connected Panasonic TV. I've tried the Acetrax service out and it's really good. Great quality films and a wide selection too! Best bit is that I can download any of the movies directly to my laptop to watch on the train on the way home from work. If I make it home before the end of the movie I just finish watching it from my Panasonic TV. No need to purchase again or sync my laptop with my home network as the movie is already waiting for me in my Acetrax account on the TV.
From what I have read, Acetrax streams movies to a wide variety of existing connected Panasonic, LG, and Samsung TVs that are already in the market. (and of course all the new TV sets too)
Also, when I created my account I got a free voucher for 1 free new release movie...no harm in trying it if it's free!

Hi,
I would like to submit a podcast that has a global audience as target. Since I am from Germany and my itunes account is naturally also German, I am worried that my podcast will only show in the German directory. Do I have any influence on that? If I had the choice I'd rather have it in the US-itunes.
In the rss I declared "english-us" as default language, does that help?

There is no international iTunes Store, and there is no such thing as an international iTunes account. There are 120+ individual country stores, each open only to people who have a billing address in that country and who are physically in that country at the time of purchase.
If you meet those criteria in your current location, you can either change your account to the new country, or start a new account in the country.

I'm stuck with uk iTunes Store and need to change to the Australian store so my cc billing details will be accepted. How do I do that?

Has anyone else had this problem? It's not intuitive and very frustrating. I just need to be able to switch iTunes Store to Australia so their software will accept my post code as being real in the billing section.

IMac A1311 broken internal monitor need to set external as primary

My internal monitor's backlight is no longer working.

If you leave the internal display open, you cannot turn it off, but you can turn the brightness down to zero.
You can in fact run the Lombard with the display closed if you have a USB keyboard, mouse, and external monitor. You must have the power adapter connected to run with the external monitor according to Apple.

The default setting for an attached external monitor is extended desktop and you want mirroring; resetting the PRAM defaults to extended desktop.
To find your System Preferences or Displays panel...
- Select All (command-A) > then start click-dragging across the screen until you find the HD icon > open the HD icon and find the Applications folder > System Preferences > Displays.
- Or try this: Find... (command-F) > enter Displays in the search field.

You can create a new account on your iPad e.g. tap on your existing id in Settings > iTunes & App Stores and log out of it and you should then get a 'Create New Apple ID' option.
If you want to create an account without giving credit card details then log out of your existing account and then follow the instructions on this page for creating it : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534 i.e. log out and then go to the App Store app and find a free app, tap on its free 'price', tap 'install app', then tap 'create new Apple id' and select your country's store and create an account.

HT2534 Hello, I am trying to set up an International Account.

I was given this link to set up an International Account in order to download Apps that are not available at the US Store where I currently have an account. I cannot find a way to set up an Int'l Account on this site...only how to set up an initial account. Help Please!!

Ok, it seems the community is confused. Let me attempt to clarify.
I am an American living in UAE, but my iTunes account is with the US Store, so I have full rights/access to the US Apps Store.
I downloaded an App called WatchESPN, but it will not work because it requires a valid US-based cable provider (however there is an option called "don't have a provier" and it worked for me once on my laptop, but never again).
So, a month or so ago, I recived an email from ESPN announcing a new App, called ESPNPlayer designed for iPAD users to watch live and archived sports. I logged onto ESPN, selected and paid for a package, and the confirmation email included a link the the Apple Apps Store to download ESPNPlayer. I clicked on the link and immediately i recieved a notice on my iPAD "App not available in US store may we switch you to UK store?", I say "OK"....then I cannot download the App because I "do not have an account at this store..."
I contacted ESPN...they replied..."simply created an 'international account' at the following link..." THIS IS WHERE I GOT STUCK AND ASK ALL OF YOU FOR HELP.
Subsequently, I have gone to the Dubai, UAE Apple Store and a nice young man logged onto my iPAD with his Apple ID and was able to find and download ESPNPlay App from the UAE App Store onto my iPAD!! I was very happy; however he warned me to get the App in my own name so I can take advantage of future updates to the App...understood. Now I am back to my original quesiont "how do I set up an International Account?" that someone at ESPN has stated can be done. Why would ESPN promote an App, designed specifically for an American Sport network to watch American sports and NOT understand that Americans living abroad (who most likely would need the App) cannot access??? This simply does NOT make sense.
One final note...I went home, launch the ESPNPlayer App...it opened as expected. I selected an archived College Football game that I missed live...the App stated "please wait, your event will start momentarily..." I waited for 40 minutes all the while the dashboard timeline of the event seemed to be moving along; however NO video and NO Audio of the event! aaahhhhhhggggggg!!! Can you believe this??
I contacted ESPN yet again, who said the following; "Reset your iPAD network device settings, turn off Wifi, turn off location services, and hard-exit the App and restart..."..."restart Wifi, location services, relaunch App and check for video/audio...let me know if this resolves your issue" I am at work now, so will try tonight...
Guys this seems like a real App, with a real problem, that I need some collective help to resolve. I still believe that somehow there must be a way for me to access and download my own copy of this App for future use...assuming I can get it to work.

Source system set up for internal / external access

Hi all.
We have an EP 6.0 (NW04 SP16) system delivering BW data from a back-end BW 3.1/3.2 system. We are using BW Report iViews to deliver all reports to external and internal users. I am having a very specific problem when setting up the source system for the BW system.
The BW Report iView object uses the WAS hostname parameter(found under: System Administration -> System Configuration -> Systems -> BWSourceSystem -> Open ->Object -> "Web Application Server (WAS)") when retrieving the back-end BW report.
When this parameter is set using an internal host id (internal_host.company.com) internal users can access the report in question, but external users can't. Alternatively, when this parameter is set using an external host id (ie. the host of our DMZ proxy server) external users can access the report, but internal users can't.
I need to find a way to use one hostname for this parameter that will work for both internal and external users. I have worked with the HTTPURLLOC table and this solution works great for URL iViews, but not for BW Report iViews. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

We did find a solution using web dispatcher. We actually installed two instances of web dispatcher... one in our DMZ for external access and another one our corporate LAN. The web dispatchers are configured identically and the EP instance knows only one hostname:
name.company.com
The port passed to the URL https://name.company.com:port is what tells web dispatcher what to do with the request (ie. pass the request to EP, BW, ECC, R/3, etc.).
Be aware that EP allows for only one hostname for Source System Setup - my name.company.com in my example above -(this is the EP Web Application Server hostname (WAS) parameter found under System Admin - System Config - Systems) - so you may need to do something like we did:
register name.company.com on the internet as a public address and use that DNS mapping for external users (using your DMZ version of webdispatcher). Subsequently, use internal DNS or host name mapping to register an internal private addresss for name.company.com (using your LAN version of web dispatcher). this will allow both internal / external users access to the portal and other SAP back-end systems.
It may sound a bit kludgy, but believe me - we tried everything to make this work. I took this all of the way to SAP and this was the recommendation SAP made for allowing both internal and external users access to portal and BW data.

Set operations on Internal tables.

Last week i had to enhance a program that has a internal table with some records. I need to find populate a table with the records in the internal table. But before populating i must find out the difference in the records (i.e) the extra records in the internal table compared with the records in the database table and then i have to append those records in the internal table again and then insert the internal table records into database table. while doing it i need to create another internal table with records in database table and then loop at it to find the extra records and rest of the logic goes on.
At this point of time it clicked in my mind "WHY DON'T WE HAVE SET OPERATIONS ON TWO INTERNAL TABELS(UNION, INTERSECTION, MINUS)".
Now i am doing some study how to implemnt it. Before that i want to find out whether that functionality exists in ABAP or anybody of youo gurus have done similar work on it.
Pls help me in proceeding with my work.

There is no special aided SET operations upon internal tables in ABAP. Concerning your particular task I would say that you can try INSERT statement for each record in your internal table without preliminary comparing them with DB table. If there is a record in DB table with the same key then sy-subrc after INSERT will be non zero (actually 4) and no real insert would occur. So, only those records would be inserted which have no counterpart in DB table.
