how do i put music into my ipod im very confused

    1. Install the CD that came with your iPod, or download the newest software off the internet. (click iPod+itunes at the top of this screen, then scroll all the way down and lcikc the link on the left-hand side).
    2. Plug in your iPod, follow the on-screen instructions.
    3. Set the preferences for your iPod, by going to Edit>Preferences>iPod tab.
If you haven't installed iTunes yet, click the ipod+iTunes at the top of this page, then click the link.
If you have iTunes, but no music, put a CD into the CD drive on your computer, then in iTunes(which may or may not open automatically), click Import, at the top-right, when the CD is selected in the Sources menu (on the left).
    Download Now
I hope this wasn't too confusing and I hope that I helped!

    Hi papadork,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that you want to add new music from your iTunes Library to your iPod shuffle without erasing what is already on the iPod. The process you are looking for is called manually managing content. Please use the following article as a reference.
Managing content manually on iPhone, iPad, and iPod
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1535
Manually add or remove content on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod
After following the steps above, you can add individual songs, videos, and playlists from iTunes to your device. To add content to your device:
    Select your device.
    Click "On this Device."
Then choose "Add to" in the upper right corner.
While viewing the media in your iTunes library, if you drag a song, video, TV show, or Movie a sidebar will appear on the right. You can drag content onto the device. You can also create and modify playlists directly on the device.
You must import songs into iTunes before you can add them to your device. You can drag media files onto the iPod or iPad in iTunes to add them to the device without adding them to the iTunes library.
When manually managing content, you can add content from multiple libraries to your iPod or iPad. Even when manually managing music, some content may be available from only one library at time. This includes all content on iPhone and video content on iPod and iPad.
    I hope this helps,
    -Joe

  • How do i download music from one ipod to another ipod

how do i download music from one ipod to another ipod ?

It needs to go through your computer's iTunes library.  If all the songs on the iPods are already in your computer's iTunes library, just sync each iPod as desired from your iTunes library.
If the songs on your iPods are not in your iTunes library, the approach here is to first off-load the song files from the iPods to your computer's hard drive.  Then, add the song files to your iTunes library, so that it is "consolidated" with ALL of your music.
You cannot transfer song files from iPod to computer using iTunes, except for songs purchased from the iTunes Store.  However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer.  If you do an Internet search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links.
Once you have ALL of your music in one iTunes library on your computer, sync your iPods as desired.

Can download music from my ipod nano to a cd disk?

Whoa! I didn't "recommend" any software for you to download. I merely pointed you to a link which contains suggestions/instructions on how to move music from the iPod to the computer. Option 2 in that link for instance doesn't need any software download.
In any event, all you should have been doing is copying the music from iPod to computer and it's difficult to know what you did that caused the music to be erased from your iPod.
Any music not on your iPod or computer is lost unless you want to try some data recovery software (assuming you haven't begun to write over the iPods hd). It's not guaranteed that you'll recover any music this way, and this type of software is rarely free.
Sorry to say this, but this is just another example of why it's not a good idea to keep the music on your iPod only.

  • What if I want to download music into my ipod but I don't want it to be on

hi, I'm at my cousin's house right now and I'm downloading music onto my ipod however, she dosen't want the music on the computer, but if I erase the song on the computer, I'm afraid the song on my ipod will be erased the next time I plug it in? so is there anyway I can download songs onto my ipod but not kepp them on the computer? can anyone help?

This is possible when you set your iPod to Manually manage (click iPod in source list, General tab on the bottom). Just drag and drop any songs you like.
    Hope this helps.

  • TS3212 How do you download music from you ipod to itunes?

I have an Ipod nano with 360 songs saved. How do I download these songs to Itunes?

The sync is one way - computer to ipod.  The exception is itunes purchases:  File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
Since everything came from your computer in the first place, it should still be there.

  • How can i download music from my ipod to my iphone 4S

had an ipod, bought an iphone 4S. My computer died so I plugged the phone into a new laptop. I downloaded new music and can't get it to the iphone. Help please

If the music is in your iTunes library on your new laptop connect your phone and do the following:
Click on the name of your phone on the left side of iTunes
On the Summary tab of your iTunes sync settings check "Sync only checked songs and videos"
Click on Music on the top left (under Library) then to the right check all the songs you want to sync to your phone
Make sure there are no exclamation points next to any of the songs you want to sync to your phone
If you are trying to transfer music purchased from the iTunes store authorize your computer for all Apple IDs used to purchase this music by going to Store>Authorize This Computer (do this for each ID)
Click the name of your phone again on the left side of iTunes, then to the right go to the Music tab and check "Sync Music"
Click Apply at the bottom to sync your phone

  • How can I download music from borrowed iPod classic

I have borrowed iPod classic from family member.  I am having problems downloading all the music onto my iTunes account.  Can anyone please help.

Let's stick with the question asked:   I think it depends on who and what your relationship is to the 'family member' is and where you live.  You may be unable to download the music of your husband, wife, or domestic partner (where legal) from their account to yours but that doesn't make it illegal to assert ownership.    I may be wrong (and I doubt it), but music that is legally owned by you is legally jointly owned by you and your partner if you are married or in a legal domestic partner relationship regardless of whether Apple recognizes that relationship with their willingness or unwillingness to merge two i-Tunes accounts.   And certainly, one NEVER has to own music to LISTEN to it.
Now some will not like that answer, but I suspect they use Microsoft products, or don't buy music from i-Tunes.

  • How do I download music from my ipod nano to my itunes on my new computer?

After buying a new laptop, I have downloaded the latest version of iTunes but after hooking up my iPod nano and turning on my home sharing the songs have not transferred from my iPod to my iTunes.  I am not sure what else I need to do.  If I sync my iPod and try to update it with my newest song purchases it will erase all of my old songs that are now only on my iPod.

You need to copy your iTunes library from your old computer to your new one.  See How to move your iTunes library to a new computer - Apple Support.  If you no longer have access to the old computer (or a backup of your data), see thus user tip: Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.  For future reference iPods are not designed or suitable for use a data storage device.
Also, there is a built-in limitation such that any iPod can only be synced with one library a time.  When you install iTunes on a new computer, and do not transfer the complete library (database, media, artwork, ...) from your old one, iTunes will recognize this as a different library from that used for previous sync operations and will always erase the current content of the iPod before syncing from the new library.

  • How can I download music on my iPod that is stored in iCloud?

My iPod is sync with a computer but the music that I want to have on my iPod from iCloud is stored in another computer and in iCloud as well

You can't delete it from your purchased list, as that is permanently maintained by the iTunes store.  You can, however, prevent it from appearing in your song list by going to Settings>iTunes & App Store and turning off Music under Show All.

Possibly. Media Go supports a variety of music formats, some of which can be imported in to iTunes and then synced on to an iPhone, however some of its formats cannot be imported in to iTunes.
See http://mediago.sony.com/enu/supported-file-formats/ for a list of formats supported by Media Go. iTunes for Windows supports MP3, AAC, WAV, and can import and convert WMA files as well. However iTunes does not support ATRAC, or FLAC.
Furthermore, if some of your music has been bought from an Internet music store it might be procted by DRM. If so it cannot be imported in to iTunes.
To do the importing you would either drag the music files in to iTunes, or tell iTunes to open them. See http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1347
